Reviews for Palazzo Vescovile Hotel

Review 1:A beautiful and romantic property with a genuinely welcoming and friendly staff that goes out of their way to make you feel at home. From our greeting at check-in to our world class dinner in their restaurant, it was a most wonderful experience. We will return !

Review 2:Bathroom/shower on the small side. Wasn't an issue for one night, but might be a drawback for a longer stay.

Review 3:Unique location. Interesting approach to the property (via elevator and funicular). Great views. Staff was very friendly and helpful.

Review 4:The hotel would increase its standing further if it had been able to provide better facilities, i.e. better television, fridge, a kettle and tea, etc.; and a superior bathroom would have been welcome. The patio was fine but could have been grander, and it's a shame that the bar is not more inviting.

Review 5:The staff are very friendly and helpful. The rooms are beautiful and the whole hotel has an atmosphere of peace and gentility. It is perfectly situated with wonderful views.

Review 6:Service dissapointing. One imagines a magnificent past but standards and quality have been let slip. e.g. The room did not have a bath, a very limited breakfast that did not include any meats and sub standard untilities.(no good bedside reading light)

Review 7:Impressive location with wonderful scenery and views. Good local restaurants in the vicinity. Pity the beach is privatized and one cannot walk by the shoreline.

Review 8:Bed and pillows a little hard, and while the suite was overall beautiful, the lower floor could do with minor updating.

Review 9:Very welcoming and friendly hotel with a personal touch, a great restaurant and good soundproofing. Excellent location (quiet and peaceful, yet still in town centre). Great views of sea and mountains.

Review 10:I would have preferred a conventional room with an en suite bathroom. We had a duplex room with the bedroom upstairs and the bathroom downstairs and a sun terrace outside. However despite that it was all very pleasant.

Review 11:I loved the situation, arriving by lift and funicular. There were beautiful views of Noli to be had. The staff were all extremely curteous and made us feel welcome. We certainly enjoyed dining in the restaurant, I'd recommend the gourmet menu. I wished that we had been there later in the year so that we could have had breakfast and dinner on the terrace.

Review 12:There was nothing not to like.

Review 13:Signori Matteo and his staff were exceptionally accommodating, above and beyond our expectations. Our dinner in the hotel restaurant was outstanding in its culinary expertise; a meal as exceptional in its presentation as in its flavors. My spouse and I cannot recommend the Vescoville too highly for a charming, seaside getaway.

Review 14:An interesting hotel, fabulous location a few minutes walk from the center of the charming town of Noli. Super, helpful staff. We didn't have dinner but enjoyed the buffet breakfast on the beautiful terrace. Will try & go back if we are ever there again.

Review 15:Not a dern thing

Review 16:Warm welcome into clean and quiet hotel with a spectacular view. This family run hotel is the best of Italian warmth and hospitality. Delicious Michelin restaurant far from snobby. Totally honest in the bills. Northern Italy at it's best.

Review 17:Despite the restrictions of an historic building, our suite was overdue for a makeover, with inadequate hanging/storage and table space, the surfaces rather tired, a preponderance of settees that evidently transform into extra beds, and a small tv without CNN or News24, feeble wifi,& a small wine fridge with(free) water but no tea/coffee facilities. The shower cubicle with sliding doors bespoke of the 1980s and we constantly banged elbows trying to shower in this space. Negatives are a drag so ignore this and go there!!

Review 18:We loved the unique location and eccentric access by lift and funicular.Arriving on a Sunday afternoon we were greeted by a typically friendly and helpful member of staff who showed us to our suite, flinging back the shutters to reveal a couple sunbathing inches from our window! But that was the first and last of that issue! The room was spacious with the sleeping area up a flight of stairs, but the furnishings are somewhat tired and dated, and the shower room could do with an upgrade, but all in all the characterfulness and ambience won us over. And the views over the bay from the breakfast terrace are awesome. The buffet breakfast was very good , with any permutation of eggs freshly cooked to order, homemade jams and breads, a plethora of pastries, ham and cheese. We dined in the Vescovado restaurant one night( the breakfast terrace in Michelin star disguise) and enjoyed faultlessly prepared and presented haute cuisine and a local Ligurian wine from the sommelier's iPad list-very techy! All in all , a superb and atmospheric evening, the hotel playing at the top of its game. The staff cannot do enough to please and the owners are always on hand to help and advise. The reception areas are historically furnished with interesting pieces and reading matter ( and strong wifi , weaker in the rooms). All in all , a lovely place with a warm family atmosphere , reflected in the genuine friendliness of all the staff.

Review 19:a lot of things, e.g. the steep and slippery stairs to reach the sleeping quarter, bathroom a long trip from the bed, small windows... but this is not a modern hotel, it is an old, beautiful palace, converted as well as possible to serve tourists instead of the bishop and his retinues. Too expensive (at least, on the high season rate). Restaurant is good (and again, expensive) but it does not stand to its high ratings in the Michelin guide

Review 20:great view on the sea and capo Noli from the terraces, special "old palace" feeling, very attentive staff, large and very clean room

Review 21:The 2d bathroom in our family room was a bit old, and the new one was leaking. Only whower and no bathtab, but for the rest everything was perfect.

Review 22:We had a great week with 2 kids at this hotel, everyone was friendly and helpful and really sweet with kids. Wonderful place, great location and very good breakfast. We loved it, just as last year.

Review 23:We loved it all

Review 24:The Restaurant The Rooms The Terrace The Staff The Location Noli

Review 25:Lovely historic hotel with gorgeous views of the sea.

Review 26:Such lovely staff

Review 27:The bed was rock hard!

Review 28:The view is to die for!

Review 29:Friendly staff, private service, delicious dinner with a marvellous view. Additionally, in our suite (No 14) the wi-fi connection was excellent.

Review 30:Outside needs a fresh coat of paint and interior design some minor modernization.

Review 31:Hotel location was superb. Views were impressive. Nice to wake up to the sound of the sea. Staff were kind and helpful. Overall very relaxing stay. Felt like being in top class amalfi coast hotel for less than 1/2 the price.

Review 32:Hearing the Ocean from the Bedroom Very personal service from the very attentive staff Private Terrace with Sea View Delicious Breakfast on the Terrace with local, fresh produce Best views of Noli and Bay Area The panoramic lift is a life saver as it saves you having to climb steps from the beach car park with heavy luggage Wooden floors and period furniture is very luxurious

Review 33:Two comments: We had chosen the split apartment (room No 14). Bathroom is on the lower floor, bedroom on the top floor, they are connected through a rather steep staircase. The "private terrasse" is not really private in the sense that it has direct access to, and view on, the breakfast space.

Review 34:Everything, and especially: the friendliness and helpfulness of the staff, great breakfast, the surprising hotel access, location, the excellent restaurant. We can only recommend this hotel.

Review 35:The Michelin-starred restaurant reflected the same impeccable taste and service as the hotel with which it shares some staff. The presentation, the place settings, the napery were beautiful. The cuisine was equally suburb, but one must be prepared to enjoy the raffinato nuovo style, which is spare but with infinite attention to tiny details. This is not my first choice of cooking styles, but we elected to dine there as much in tribute to the wonderful cordiality of the hotel as anything else.

Review 36:This was the best hotel of our recent 3 week visit to the Riviera. It has an unusual combination of factors that made it so. There are not very many guest rooms but the building and the common areas are huge and the staff wins in comparison in courtesy and personal attentiveness with any I have encountered anywhere. I wold recommend this unique hotel to anyone, but be aware that reservations will be needed far in advance during the season if you hope to stay there.

Review 37:I can't think of a single thing.

Review 38:This boutique hotel, perched on the side of a hill overlooking the fishing village of Noli is a highly recommended spot. Free wifi, facing the sun all day long, complimentary water and juices in the mini-fridge. From the outdoor breakfast terrace with stunning views, to the beautiful old rooms formerly inhabited by bishops for centuries, to the friendly staff, I could not find fault with the entire stay.

Review 39:Sea-view terrace has a great sea view but becomes too sunny and hot at the breakfast time: It will be good to add some kind of elegant adjustable visors.

Review 40:Good location, great sea view, ancient but clean facility and friendly service. Fully protected from a road noise. A good place to relax.

Review 41:Splendid comfortable hotel with friendly hospitable and compassionate people, also a great sea view and historical trace in decor made our holiday more romantic! Special thanks to Naggi. The person who especially made our stay! Thanks a lot to everyone for everything!! )

Review 42:Terrace could only be used for breakfast and was inaccessible the rest of the day.

Review 43:Beautiful terrace for breakfast. Friendly and helpful staff. Secure parking.

Review 44:Everything was great! Chose the "Praia Bajda beach" which is to the left- it's less crowded and better than the one to your right which they recommend at the hotel. Or use the free beach- it's also nice!

Review 45:Location, great view, room with a nice garden. Having breakfast on the terrace overlooking the sea was amazing. The whole ambiance. We did like the Michelin restaurant a lot!! There is a free parking up the hill. We had a great time in Palazzo, this place is very special with it's antique furniture, birds singing and the beautiful panoramic lift!

Review 46:The location, attentive and concerned staff. Family runned, small but excellent service. Adorable bird-eye view, day or night. Any time I will consider to stay at the hotel! Compliments to all the hotel empolyees and the to the chiefs...

Review 47:nothing

Review 48:Great location, lovely rooms, good restaurant. very friendly staff/management. Lovely hotel, thoroughly recommended. Note that you have to park in the car park by the sea front, and then ascend to the hotel via the lift actually from the car park.

Review 49:Nothing

Review 50:The friendly welcome and helpful management and staff. The location and building itself overlooking Noli. The way the hotel had been adapted from the original bishop's palace. The terrace for breakfast and dinner was superb. Food was excellent.

Review 51:A bit quirky lay-out of room with two levels where the bedroom was one floor and a long stair, above the bathroom and living area.

Review 52:A wonderful experience to take the lift and mini-funiculaire up to this castle on a cliff. A secluded little gem with a great restaurant and a view second to none. We will definitely come back. The atmosphere of old world secluded elegance was enhanced by the staff that added to the experience greatly.

Review 53:We had a wonderful stay in Noli. It was such a gorgeous place with spectacular views. The staff at the hotel were so friendly and the hotel was really good value.

Review 54:No TV in the bedroom. There was however a TV in the main suite (couldn't find English channels though!)

Review 55:This hotel is little gem. The staff are so helpful and friendly, I can't praise them enough. The rooms are simple but very elegant and comfortable.. It is in a fantastic location to explore and enjoy Noli. The restaurant is fantastic (but expensive). Well worth treating yourself though! It is a short 5 minute taxi ride from Sportono/Noli station. Which has a few trains per day from Ventimigla and Genoa. About 1 hour train ride from the airport station. Savona has more regular trains, but isn't as close. Seems very secure as you can only access it via it's own mini funicular railway. Great views from the room.

Review 56:A phone in the room might be useful

Review 57:The staff excelled in making sure that we were comfortable and providing refreshment whenever we needed it. the restaurant was superb with attentive, friendly, efficient and knowledgeable staff

Review 58:Having to leave ....

Review 59:From the first moment the in residence Michelin Star Chef smiled down at us as we ascended the lift to reception. All staff were warm, caring, friendly and helpful. We were well looked after and the atmoshere of the hotel was wonderful. This establishment is a real gem tucked away in a fabulous setting in a charming village.

Review 60:A quiet charmy place. Noli is my favorite village in the area.

Review 61:Particular athmosphere in an 8 century building with a spectacular view over the bay and the middle age town

Review 62:Lovely hotel. Amazing views. Gracious staff. Wonderful food. A fantastic place to be.

Review 63:Room facilities outdates, TV was not located in the bed room.

Review 64:Location nice

Review 65:Jelly fish at times can make swimming difficult.

Review 66:Location, decor, quality of food, service of staff.
