Review 2：The room and the bathroom are spacious and comfortable. No weird smells or srazy colours. All equipment works properly. Very comfy bed and pillows. The room corresponded to my special requests 100%.

Review 19：Unless you have a royal suite, there's no room service available. If you do have the suite, ANY service is 10 Euro If you book via Booking.com, they refuse to alter your reservation in the system (though they can). You have to do it yourself online ...

Review 21：Our problem was with the dining room on the evening we arrived. My granddaughter who is in her mid twenties, ordered a fish meal, but when served it was incorrect, she is allergic to gluten and as the meal given to her had peanut sauce was unsure what was in the sauce. The waiter told her, rather flippantly that he would take it back, but the fish would have to be cooked and would take between 15-30 minutes. The Head Waiter came to see us and to be honest was not much better in his approach, asking what we wanted him to do about it, and mentioned that the waiter should have told us that they would take ours back so that we all ate at the same time. Had this been conveyed to us it would have helped with her decision. We travel to The Netherlands several times a year and have stayed in other Van Der Valk hotels in the past and have had a very good experience. It was unfortunate that the waiter seemed to fail to listen properly and then seemed to think it was a bit of a joke.

Review 22：Large size bedroom and bathroom, very clean. Food good, despite the incorrect meal being served at dinner. Good choice of dinner menu and breakfast choice was excellent. Staff very helpful, with the exception of waiter in dining room.

Review 25：Key card did not work and required a 5 minute walk back to reception... The bath was not clean. My contact details were used for junk email - all of which was in Dutch and so not easy to unsubscribe. The location was not convenient for restaurants. Another bland business hotel with superficial comfort to ensure a high rating.

Review 27：The decor in the entire hotel is black & white with accents in a particularly vile shade of purple. Black net curtains in our room. Cheap, vulgar, 'Modern Bordello'. Soulless and horrible. There was a large disgusting stain on our carpet. Far too expensive for what it is: a cheap hotel pretending it's not.

Review 31：Unfortunately this Hotel does not provide room service unless you stay in one of their Suites. When you do stay at the suites, hotel reception gets quite paranoid about who their occupants are. When we checked out at one of their suites, they made us wait till the chamber maid had throughly checked the room before allowing us to leave. Whether it would of been a normal room or a suite that shouldn't have happen. I don't think this is normal protocol. It felt like an intrusion to our privacy.

The food is excellent the rooms are clean modern and spacious. The staff are polite friendly and very helpful. Will definitely stay here again next time I visit Almere.

Review 39：The rooms are the biggest we have seen so far and the bathroom was fantastic. Swimming pool was at a very good temperature and everything was very clean. Breakfast had a wide choice of foods with 'to go' cups for the coffee so that you can bring one along with you which is a nice detail.

Nothing bad to say about the room or hotel in general. Excellent breakfast! Lots to choose from. Takes about 20 minutes to drive to RAI. We were in Amsterdam for IBC and we will definately stay at this hotel next year as well.
