Reviews for Hotel Anticos Palathos

Review 1:Being in the centre of town the view from room was a bit limited although I am assuming this would apply to the majority of the rooms.

Review 2:The hotel is in a fantastic location being in the centre of the town. Our room was fantastic with old beams and lovely bathroom The rest of the hotel is a mixture of inside and outside with breakfast in the courtyard which had everything you would want. Staff were very helpful when we asked and although parking could possibly be a problem in peak season we had no problems. If going to Orosei you will not be disappointed.

Review 3:Splendid family-run hotel in the heart of Orosei. Very kind and helpful staff, great breakfast and comfortable rooms. We had the chance that Salvatore, the owner, took us on a boat excursion in the Gulf of Orosei. Great experience!

Review 4:Nothing at all to dislike.

Review 5:Old palace tastefully converted into a boutique hotel with plenty of character. The staff are excellent and can't do enough to help you.

Review 6:Nothing I didn't like

Review 7:Beautiful family-run hotel, in the centre of Orosei but it was an oasis of peace. The building is superb, an old irregular stone building, with courtyards and hidden corners. The decor has been given so much attention, it is like something out of an interior design mag. The breakfast was very good and the staff were so helpful. We had little time and they helped us pack as much as possible in to it, especially Gloria the receptionist who went way beyond the call of duty in organising an excellent restaurant and boat trip for us at very reasonable prices, and she was lovely! This was the best of our 10 day stay in Sardinia.

Review 8:small detail, but the tiny curtains in the bathroom are not enough to cover the whole window. Particularly girls might feel uncomfortable with that

Review 9:the place is gorgeously designed. Staff extremely professional and friendly

Review 10:The staff were very helpful and accommodating. The hotel was beautiful and well laid out. Such a charming place. And Orosei itself is a lovely little town, which had markets and live music in the main square at the weekends.

Review 11:The parking is a little tricky up behind the hotel. The air conditioning in the room was very ineffective, making our room stifling hot. Our room and bathroom were both very small and dark.

Review 12:Unique building with wonderful old architecture. The staff were very helpful, but didn't really speak English. The breakfast was incredible, with a wonderful selection croissants, bread, cereal, cakes, cheeses, meats, fruits, juices and hot drinks. The courtyard where breakfast is served is very sweet. There is also another little courtyard where you can sit quietly and enjoy a glass of wine or bubbly. Orosei itself was a really nice little town with a lot going on and loads of great beaches and activities nearby.

Review 13:A beautiful, romantic and quirky little hotel, conveniently located in the middle of a quiet little town. Extremely friendly and helpful staff made this an excellent overnight stop and we would definitely aim to return if in the area again.

Review 14:We were very impressed with the friendliness of the staff, the standard and cleanliness of the room and the fantastic breakfasts. The hotel also provided packed lunches for days on the beach as well as lending beach chairs and an umbrella!

Review 15:Nothing all w as good

Review 16:Rooms were clean and well decorated. Breakfast was great, they offered umbrellas and chairs for the beach. The people were so helpfull and friendly and gave some excellent recommendations of where to eat and to go and even left a picnic for us when we had a 6.30 flight in the morning and to top it all brought up coffee to the room at 6.15 Loved it.

Review 17:the problem with air condition,

Review 18:the place in the centre of small town, very kind and helpful staff, rich a very fresh breakfast, perfectly clean room, the perfect atmosphere

Review 19:Unfortunately it is not suitable for families with small kids, parking is on the street so sometimes you park further than required, many steep steps all around and inside the place, even steps within the suite so not suitable for buggies and toddlers.

Review 20:This place really takes you to a different time and place, marvellous interior design, great breakfast, excellent location and staff was more than helpful and kind.

Review 21:I liked everything about it.

Review 22:The hotel itself is amazing. It has such character. It is a beautiful old building, very deceiving from the outside. It has a series of wonderful little courtyards for leisure or dining. It's location couldn't have been better, right in the centre of town. Staff are so amazingly helpful and friendly. This was a wonderful place to stay. Great advice on local walks and restaurants.

Review 23:The bed was not very comfortable and the mini bar fridge is an actual fridge, so we just unplugged it to reduce the noise it made. The location is good depending on if you have a car or not...although there is a good restaurant and a small gelateria very close to the hotel.

Review 24:Warmly welcomed, this hotel was a joy to stay in for all its oddities and windy staircases. The shower was powerful and hot. Breakfast was fantastic, lots of choice, even a locally cured sausage and a variety of local pastries and cakes. We would come back!

Review 25:No parking but we managed to park on a side street. We had the luxury room with a hot tub. The hot tub took ages to fill up - probably about an hour!! So, not very pratical.

Review 26:Lovely hotel with charm and character. Staff very friendly, hotel in good location in the town. Room was very pretty with a good view.

Review 27:-the room has only a small window and makes the interior quite dark (but that was how they built in ancient times) -the breakfast can be improved

Review 28:-the personnel, very nice and friendly people -the "antic-ness" of the place -good location to explore the area

Review 29:Staffs' grasp of English was poor, but this was the same all around Sardinia and a great effort was made to help us despite this.

Review 30:Catered for food intolerances - went beyond my expectations and even produced lactose and egg free cake for breakfast. Interesting old building.

Review 31:Very courteous and considerate attention to our needs. Whenever we asked for something they helped us immediately and they never forgot the extra needs of our child, they helped us find the best out of orosei in the most enjoyable way

Review 32:We loved this hotel. Salvatore and his family made as feel like royals with a superb quality service. However, the most important one was the night that Salvatore and his family cooked for the guests and offered a delicious degustation of Sardignian food. An unforgettable experience! location of the hotel is central and parking was not a problem. Every day they recommended us a different beach and would pack the picnic for us. Difficult to think in a better experience in Orosei

Review 33:Great cute place! Amazing staff. perfect location in the middle of the little town

Review 34:Very nice rooms

Review 35:Superb!, Friendly, Helpful, Quiet. A real hidden Gem.

Review 41:A cosy and nice hotel in the heart of the historical centre.

Review 42:The staff was very helpful, friendly and professional.

Review 43:Good location! We liked the interior design of the room!

Review 44:Friendly, welcoming and informative staff. The room was beautiful and unique and we'd love to come back one day!

Review 45:The beds could be a bit more comfortable...

Review 46:The medieval Atmosphere and the nice big room.

Review 47:The Junior suite we stayed in was one of the most amazing characteristic rooms we ever stayed in with excellent value. the owner and staff are the most friendly people you could wish to meet. Thank you very much for a wonderful stay :):)

Review 48:Nothing really.

Review 49:Lovely room (Standard). Excellent facilities - interesting sitting areas in this historical building, delightful niches. Excellent and free wifi throughout the hotel and not just in reception like some hotels we visited. The staff were all excellent and welcoming and we were given good advice on where to eat. Breakfast which was served in a lovely courtyard, was delicious and fresh with a lovely selection of hot and cold food. Tip - arrive at breakfast before the German guests who cleared the buffet by taking several portions of everything!

Review 50:The hotel courtyard is enclosed, it's not very well, that it smoked in the patio- in rooms felt the smoke

Review 51:Staff is very friendly and helpfull, especially Sra.Gesuina. Rooms are very clean, tidy, comfortable, very nice rooms design. Breakfast was plentiful, tasty, and Gesuina's coffee - amazing. Atmosphere of the hotel is very cozy and family friendly. Really makes you want to stay in it again

Review 52:No restaurant.

Review 53:This is a very friendly family run hotel and made for a relaxing base to explore the gulf of Orosei. The hotel is very interesting inside with lots of quirky features. Excellent breakfasts are taken in a lovely open central courtyard.

Review 54:Lighting in one of our party's rooms was quite dim. That said, thejacuzzi made up for it. Hard to park in the area (try Plaza Antonio 5mins walk away). After 10pm no check-in (there is a separate nightentrance and guests have a key).

Review 55:Quirky, each room is different. They've just installed a new wifi,it's free and very fast. Secluded areas to sit outside the rooms.Great breakfast in lovely central courtyard, they even come round torefill your cappuccino. Night Market nearby. Every staff member was verywelcoming, even at checkout when I thought I'd pre-paid they werevery patient with me until I realized my error.

Review 56:Gorgeous renovated old stone building. Rooms are large and beautifully decorated. Staff very helpful. Lovely breakfast. Great midway stop between Catania and costa Smeraldo region.

Review 57:No parking out the front...limited to 30 min intervals which is abit annoying.

Review 58:Location was very central close to the main pedestrian street ofOrosei. We stayed in a room 50m away from the main building in the samestreet but this was not much of an inconvenience with the added bonusof additional privacy and a huge combined jacuzzi/shower. Roomswere comfortable and breakfast was above average for Europe, with agood selection of fresh pastries, fruit, cold meats and cheeses. Staffwere very friendly although English was a bit limited. Overall anenjoyable stay.

Review 59:very friendly helpful owners and staff, excellent breakfast & coffee

Review 60:Small bathroom

Review 61:Historic building and accommodation. Great breakfast. Friendly and helpful staff.

Review 62:- air condtion is not working properly, its very hot in the rooms even with AC

Review 63:- Great building in a good location in the center of Orosei

Review 64:Nothing

Review 65:Position is great, just 10-15 minutes drive to some of the most beautiful beaches in Sardinia. Staff were extremely helpful with everything.

Review 66:The very friendly staff, the furniture and details of the house
