Reviews for Apollo Hotel Almere City Centre
Review 1:Very centrally placed for shops, bars, restaurants. Easy walk from the station. When arriving by car the car park, 9.50 Euro per day, has a lift to hotel. Once booked in you use your key card in lift, makes it very secure
Review 2:The noise of aircindition in the room and amount of light coming from outside getting into the room via toilet window was not acceptable.
Review 3:Staff were friendly, good location and nice view.
Review 4:The internet didn't work. I asked the staff, was given an explanation. That also did not work. I called the front desk again and didn't really like the attitude of, 'well it works for everyone else' bring your computer here and show us... So I got dressed and went to the lobby. After proving it didn't work they called their IT people who 'allowed me free access' another way. Companion was in the lobby on another ocaision and the staff was going through the same thing with other people... If they know it doesn't work, they should just deal with it instead of causing people needless grief! I would have happily paid a small fee for one day use but all they had available was 1 week package at 21 Euro! Why not one day @ 3 Euros? I expect the internet to work in a hotel, especially when they tell you there is free access. Our room was on the side of the building that was above a skateboarding area. The kids below made a lot of noise. Ask for a higher floor if you want to sleep late on a weekend! I was sure the people in the next room were moving furniture around until I realized the noise was coming from outside.
Review 5:The room was very clean and there was lots of hot water. There was some issue with the safe which they fixed.
Review 6:Ridicilously expensive brekky, no secure carpark close (my car's window got smashed in and broken into). + had to pay 12 euroses for closest parking. Entertainment centre in rooms not free.
Review 7:Nice and modern, helpful staff, bath.
Review 8:It is quite noisy outside at night. The windows in some of the rooms are above eye level.
Review 9:Right next to the start/finish of the Ironman Distance Race which my legs really appreciated after 4km swimming, 180km cycling and 42km running ! It is a very modern and architecturally interesting building. The staff are really friendly and helpful.
Review 10:The hotel is smack in the middle of the centre with shops. Easy wheelchair access.
Review 11:Nice hotel, friendly staff. It's perfect for a visit to the Schouwburg Almere. Of room facilities, I most appreciated a decent, well-lit desk.
Review 12:no free hotel car parking place.
Review 13:clean nice rooms, modern infrastructure
Review 14:the location and the floor of the room might be old
Review 15:the quite place and the building design
Review 16:Nothing

Review 27:Location and people
Review 28:price of breakfast really high...
Review 29:The price for breakfast was high almost €19 per person.
Review 30:The room was a nice size and the bed comfortable.
Review 31:Administration needs to be improved
Review 32:Clean, modern, well located
Review 33:- price of breakfast - 18 EUR for food served is kind of silly joke. - magentic door opening cards often fail to work
Review 34:- location (close to city center) - restaurant (quality of meals)
Review 35:cant comment as every thing was spot on.....
Review 36:I enjoyed my stay and the friendly staff.....food was lovely and location just what i needed.....i will return.....thank you for nice clean and tidy hotel
Review 37:Very expensive (EUR 18) breakfast that was OK but nothing special. For this room price I would expect this to be included. Low water pressure in the shower. Changing water temperature in the shower. Thin towels. A charge for connecting my computer to the internet via cable. No iron and ironing board in the room. The iron and board I got from the hotel were the cheapest I have ever seen. One part of the air conditioning system could not be switched off, producing noise throughout the night.
Review 38:Design/Architecture. Good bed. Fairly spacious room. Nice view and location near the water.
Review 39:Bathroom sliding door didn't completely shut, although it did look good! Water pressure in shower could have been better.
Review 40:Archtecture, value for money, excellent breakfast, central to shops and public transport, good views from room
Review 41:The receptionist did not informed us about breakfast hours- that thereis a diffrence between weekend and weekdays. There was no free parking(11e per day) by the hotel but we found free one about 2km away (youpark by the street but there wasn’t anything to worry about).
Review 42:During booking there was an information that there is no breakfastincluded but in fact it was :-). And it was not only croissant and thecoffee but rich menu. Everyone can find sth for himself. There are lotsof shops next to the hotel and many restaurants. Rooms was very cleanand big enough to set a baby cot.
Review 43:You have to pay for parking.
Review 44:Very helpfull stuff, nice and comfortable rooms. Good value. Ve did not eat breakfast, but the shops and restaurants are so close. We buy the food there.
Review 45:All good. We didn't tried the breakfast because it was too expensive.
Review 46:Almere is a new city full of modern buildings. Apollo is one of thesemodern buildings close to a calm lake. Good conditions and only 30 kmfrom amsterdam (reachable by car or train)
Review 47:for people who don't know english very well . I was charged Euro31 for the pay per view tv in the room #405 . That is not fair . The detail is very close to free channel .
Review 48:good price
Review 49:Hotel is horrible. Go to this bad hotel only if you cannot find anything else (like we did) or only if you have no option. And go anywhere else as soon as you can. Everything is filthy, dirty, smelly. On up-right corner of the door we even had a spider net. Also one of the windows had a long spit trail. How is that for a 4 star hotel? Do I have to tell you the rest? I think not. Our hope is tat we are still healthy because Apollo Hotel cleaning policy makes it a diseases distribution point.
Review 50:Location seems nice, it is near the water, have parking underground.
Review 51:Everything else is a letdown: - the design of the hotel is a disaster in every way, including the gunslit windows - the breakfast buffet would make the IKEA restaurant seem like fine dining - the HVAC is so noisy one of the members of our group couldn't sleep and has checked out at 3 AM to go to his home in the Netherlands to get at least some sleep - the Internet worked fine on the weekends, but started dropping the connection during weekday nights - my bedsheets had holes (!) - no fridge or proper storage room - elevator card system that can frustrate the hell out of you - etc. etc.
Review 52:The hotel's main, major and perhaps only big plus is the location - it'sin central Almere, right next to the very core (big shopping centre withall the services), 10 mins walk from the train station, 3 mins to thebus stop and the central "knoppunt" of the bicycle lane system. The personnel is also very helpful and enjoyable to interact with.
Review 53:One of the reasons for choosing the hotel was air condition.Unfortunatelly it didn't work so day two we had to change room, butdidn't get any compensation. We had to make the remark twice before theyactually admitted the problem.
Review 54:It's a design hotel so great design but maybe not always so practical.(It should be possible to do both.) Good location.
Review 55:Ventilation system a bit noisy in the room, I could not switch it off. I was still able to sleep, however it may disturb more sensitive travellers.
Review 56:Good service, clean room
Review 57:Reception is very poor service, no service mind. I have to wait more than 10 mins because she was doing another tasks on a computer. She said she busy, please wait.
Review 58:Reception staff were very unfriendly, to the point of rudeness.Checkout took 10mins.although we were the only people in the lobby. Receptionist on checkout thought her computer screen should take priority over speaking to guests.Reception need to take lessons in how to speak to guests from Housekeeping. Very small, dark, stuffy room.Although location of hotel is excellant I would not choose to stay there again.
Review 59:Housekeeping staff were friendly & helpful, bar staff very welcoming.
Review 60:On the water, Quiet, clean, close to restaurants, shopping, train to Amsterdam.
Review 61:Water in shower not hot enough
Review 62:Very quiet, nice view.
Review 63:Although the breakfast was from 7 until 10, if you went later, there was almost nothing left.
Review 64:We had a room facing the see :)
