Reviews for The Dwarika’s Hotel

Review 1:Owned by Nepalese family. Beautiful heritage hotel - it's like staying in a beautiful Newari palace full of antiques. Wonderfully evocative & peaceful - an oasis away from the frenetic streets of Kathmandu.

Review 2:there was nothing I didn't like at the hotel itself. The location of the hotel is not very appealing. The neighbourhood has nothing to offer. Positive is that Pashupatinath is at walking distance.

Review 3:the staff is utterly helpful and friendly. Every detail is right, from the available necessities in the room to the presentation of the garden, the different restaurants, the pool, the bar, the bradkfast buffet. Everything is there. The premises are absolutely magnificant.

Review 4:Nothing at all... Even given the earthquake it was still made to feel like a home.

Review 5:We traveled to Kathmandu and stayed at the Dwarika's hotel on the day of the earthquake, the management and staff took us in with arms wide open during the disaster... They made every effort to ensure everyone was well taken care of to the best possible given the harsh conditions.. They had no reservations in going the extra miles, they even created literally an outdoor hotel experience for the guests and ensured that everyone was warm, fed, and catered to. Given the treatment at such hard times I would say don't think twice, this hotel is not just any five star property it's beyond that.. It's a luxury hotel that you feel like you are personally a part of. It's family!

Review 6:We were encouraged to upgrade our room to a suite on arrival as our room wasn't ready and if we took a suite it would be available immediately. We took the upgrade which also enabled wifi and breakfast. We still waited another 30mins before gaining access to the room. The food was extremely expensive relative to the rest of Kathmandu and was nowhere near as good as I had eaten in various much cheaper restaurants around Kathmandu. I saw a rat run across the courtyard after dinner one evening which actually made me quite uncomfortable for the rest of my stay. We were woken up by a 6am call to our room which had been placed by the front desk in error and there was a mix up with the booking of our cars to go to the airport on the day of our departure. The breakfast buffet was equally average and I waited over 10 mins for eggs to be cooked at the grill! Generally disappointed with the whole experience and wished I had remained in the Holy Himalya which although not as beautiful was certainly far better value at a fraction of the price.

Review 7:The hotel was beautifully decorated and the spa was fantastic.

Review 8:The hotel seems to have no competition and think they can charge what they like. Not up to international 5 star standards. The hotel food was very unimaginative and tasteless and I love Nepali food with a price tag that verging on exploitation.

Review 9:Authentic and traditional style Hotel with fabulous tranquil gardens amidst the huddle and busses of Katmandu.

Review 10:Would like to have been able to cool the room using A/C, but it was for heat only due to the winter season. But the weather was fabulous and our room soaked up the sun,so the room was quite warm.

Review 11:Beautiful layout, and very relaxing. Katmandu is a very busy place, but once inside the Hotel, you would never know it. There is a pool several restaurants, and lots of social space

Review 12:The wifi is not complimentary.

Review 13:The hotel is like a living museum of wood carving whilst being very clean and comfortable. The staff were extremely attentive and friendly. The facilities were excellent. The restaurants had a good variety and the food excellent.

Review 14:There are two things that I did'nt like at all: 1- Breakfast should be absolutely INCLUDED and FREE with the room fees 2- Wi-Fi should be absolutely FREE for the hotel residents!

Review 15:Every single detail about the hotel.

Review 16:Wonderful use of traditional Nepalese building materials, at the same time having every luxury. Wonderful atmosphere, and wonderful staff. An outstanding place to visit.

Review 17:I wish they had more information in the rooms about cost for wifi, hours of gym and other basic services. I felt I was either calling or visiting the front desk way to frequently to ask these questions.

Review 18:A beautiful place to come back to after being in the Kathmandu chaos. My initial room was nice but a little dark. I was upgraded to a bigger room with great lighting which made my experience that much better. I can't say enough about how great the customer service was. Kudos to all staff.
