Review 1：Larger restaurant was impersonal, had two incidents. In one case, brought wrong food, waiter insisted that it was correct. Had trouble tracking down a manager, too late to wait for replacement, not charged but manager didn't handle it particularly well.

Review 3：The room we stayed in had not been fumigated. There was a cockroach near the bath tub. And the variety of the food should increase.

Review 5：There was someone within the hotel grounds selling souvenirs on the steps up to the rooms. We kept getting hassled by him. I don't know why the hotel allow this.

Review 6：The hotel was very luxurious. The room was amazing, with a walk-in wardrobe/bathroom. Our balcony overlooked the pool and the beach, and the view was incredible. Upon arriving we received drinks and cold towels and the staff were very attentive to our needs. Unfortunately we did not get a chance to sample the food due to our schedule, however we did see there were a number of restaurants available for buffet and a la carte, and they looked very nice. The hotel was located very close to Galle Fort (less than 5 minutes by taxi).

Review 7：We booked in here at the last minute to get away from another place that was terrible. Sitting on their patio looking at the crashing ocean waves enjoying a cocktail while we were getting checked in was a welcomed few minutes. Views were spectacular. Sunset was incredible. Very nice pool with another excellent view to the ocean. Rooms were very comfortable. Staff was accommodating to any of our needs. I wish we had been able to stay a few more days.

Review 13：We had been to various places in Sri Lanka as part of ot honeymoon your and when we arrived at jetwing lighthouse we were very excited to discover the sea view location and the amazing pool area. The pool was huge and often not very busy so great for a swim. Breakfast was the highlight for us due to the vhoice and quality of food. The pancakes were lovely with maple syrup and banana! Staff were friendly and helpful too.

Breakfast is very good but sometimes it's just too busy - variety of food is very good but sometimes there aren't enough staff to cope with the crowd. Pools and grounds are very good even with a lot of people around.

Review 18：We had a really dirty room for all days of staying (dirty floors, stains on the windows, dust etc). We had a water leak at night with no excuse from the managment. The room service is very slow, unable to understand most simple requests. We asked twice to bring us vase for the flowers, manager said ok, but nothing happened. Disguisting managment and the hotel.

Review 21：My family has a fondness of beach resorts and we've been to a variety internationally. Coming from a town and having a holiday home where Blue Flag beaches are a dime a dozen, our standards are high. But, in defense of what may seem snobbish - we paid a small fortune to stay here for four nights in their premium suite. Summary of negative: 1. There wasn't hot water the first day we arrived and we took a cold bath. We did endure 3 hours of back and forth with staff to no avail. It was fixed the next day. The rain had apparently affected the solar system. I only found this out two days later and frankly they could've apologized and offered us the use of another room's shower so we could have a hot one. 2. The spa also failed to communicate the next day and made us wait for ages for our appounent without coming to us and informing us. 3. I wouldn't recommend Nihal's for breakfast - burnt brioche, wrong orders and cold coffee... Nothing like the flyers in the lifts. 4. It is a bit far from Galle Old Town. You have to take a tuk-tuk and you're basically stuck at the hotel otherwise. There were a few other issues too but the above as well as the minor issues were brought to the attention of the management staff. After numerous complaints to the front office and then an email to the hotel, the GM came to see me. The hotel truly did try to make it up to us in their way by having a staff member assist us, arranging spa treatments and even two free dinners. In the end though, it's not about the money. We could have paid for our own spa treatments and dinners. In the end it's about the experience and unfortunately half of ours was marred. I'm not sure if I'd go back to this hotel or even Galle. It's okay overall if you take it as it is and don't have too high expectations.

Review 29：This place is fantastic if you want to just relax and do nothing. It is a little out of the way if you want to explore the place itself, but not to dissuade you from doing so. The hotel offer free afternoon tea which was excellent. It was my birthday the day before our stay and a friend had told the hotel in advance. They left a decorated chocolate cake in the room that was generous in size and very tasty. The rooms were fantastic and when the shower broke in my friends room at about 7am, they were there to fix it immediately and did so very quickly.

Tried to book whale watching trip: waiting for 2 hours. Concierge has not called back. Called reception 3 times. Got a confirmation after 3 hours. Found out on the day before whale watching that it was cancelled.

Review 88：Jetwing Lighthouse is too big and impersonal. We had horrendous problems with our booking. We made two separate bookings. The first was cancelled without our knowledge (we received confirmation) and once we found out we had real problems finding anywhere to stay as it was over New Year. The second booking was confirmed but later we were told the type of room wasn't available after all and we were downgraded. We emailed and phoned both Lighthouse and Jetwing Head Office constantly but had no replies. Booking.com also found they didn't get replies when they tried on our behalf. When we eventually arrived at Lighthouse we were kept waiting over an hour when we tried to register despite one our daughters being ill and needing somewhere to lie down. We had more problems as the room agreed on was no longer available so they showed us different rooms and tried to charge us more than their rate. We continued to say we felt we'd been badly treated and should be compensated. We had to haggle for over an hour and the General Manager didn't even bother to get involved. Eventually we got to meet him on our last night and found him weak and ineffectual and unwilling to offer us any help. Generally they didn't give a damn. They were happy to charge London prices but didn't want to give London service.

Review 99：Being eco friendly means the hotel only has one elevator (from the entrance till the 2nd floor). We were assigned a room on the top floor, which had a superb view but meant walking around 5min and climbing endless flights of stairs to get there - quite tough if you have a tired 8 year old with you (or for those with restricted mobility). The rooms service was abysmal - once I requested some ice and another time some cutlery & crockery and in both cases it took more than an hour to arrive. Calls to the reception, guest services and housekeeping would routinely go unanswered (in most nice hotels a call is answered before 3 rings). When we complained about this, the manager sent us a complimentary dessert, which was thoughtful, but not a solution to the issue. There were lizards in the room, something I am ok with but I know many people who would be uncomfortable.

Review 100：Great colonial design, excellent location, superb breakfast and dinner buffet (especially dinner). Alfresco dining by the Ocean was most enjoyable. Some excellent options nearby include a lagoon cruise, opportunities to purchase local handicrafts (masks, gems) - avoid the tourist traps i.e. the first couple of places your taxi driver takes you to. In case someone wants to try local fare, the restaurant outside the hotel (I think its called Saharan) offers excellent value and great taste.

Review 105：The only thing I would like to recommend is that there is a little shadeperhaps from trees aroundt he swimming pool in front of the sea. Beingfair skinned my time was limited in the pool due to the constant sunexposure. Just a thought.

Review 106：I liked the very professional but discreet service provided by the hoteland despite it being a luxury hotel, it felt very comfortable and notformal. The buffet arrangement and as well as the food were very goodand the fact to be able to dine almost next to the Indian Ocean waswonderful. Booking a car or a tuk-tuk from within the hotel also seemed more expensive compared to an independent booking from other sources. However, the drivers/guides for the car/tuk-tuk that we booked from within the hotel were more experienced, and hence, effective.

Review 110：We just loved the location! You can easily spend 2-3 days within the property overlooking the ocean, and not go anywhere else. However, that would be impossible, as the best beaches of Sri Lanka, Unawatuna and Hikkaduwa, are within reach, and the Whale watching point of Mirissa is not too far either. Best place to stay if you are planning for a luxurious and cozy honeymoon or a couple-trip to Galle. The spread for the buffet breakfast and other occasional meals are great.

Review 111：The spa was a long distance and past a very smelly drain from the room. But a small issue overall. Limited choice of TV stations. The hotel chain should introduce a loyalty card scheme as we have stayed with them several times now and should get a frequent sleepers discount or complimentary drink etc.

Review 112：Spectacular setting on the rocks above the ocean. It as an easy drive to Galle and the food was terrific. The room was well appointed and very clean and we appreciated the free and easy access to the Wi-Fi.

We were a group offriends we wanted to share the payment, so that caused problems. I wouldlike to discuss this with someone from Booking.com as feel myconfirmation was misleading.
