Reviews for Posada Colibri
Review 1:Noise surrounding facility. Dogs barking; parrot squawked continuously; construction. Foul odor in bathroom coming from the drains which could not be stopped.
Review 2:Helpful attitude of staff.
Review 3:We had the large king size room with huge balcony looking over the ocean which was very comfortable. Nice breakfast poolside. Also have use of the larger poolin the hotel next door. One block up from the malecon.
Review 4:Excellent location and half of the rooms in this charming bed and breakfast have views of the sea - some from private patios. Managers are a lovely European couple was extremely responsive to even our smallest needs. They cooked wonderfull breakfasts with homemade breads & jams. We enjoyed our stay very much. Creatively decorated. And most of all strong WIFI.
Review 5:The air conditioning was $15 US a day. They said because air con was very expensive in Mexico. Fair enough but we paid half the cost of this hotel elsewhere and good air con was free! Consequently were pretty hot! Besides this the pool was half empty but we could use the place next door owned by the same people for the pool which was lovely.
Review 6:We had the place to ourselves. It was very homely and tranquil. Nice room and a good breakfast included.
Review 7:The hosts were very welcoming and made delicious breakfasts every morning to order. The room was lovely and comfortable in a beautiful spacious house with a nice pool and grounds for relaxing at the end of the day. A very easy walk from the bus station, the Malecon, and good restaurants. If I were back in La Paz I would definitely stay again - highly recommended!
Review 8:The shower had poor flow and would maybe get up to lukewarm by the end of your shower if you were lucky. The room was clean but hadn't been maintained well. The screen door was hard to open and close, one of the ceiling fans didn't work (but was fixed immediately for us) and the dresser in the room didn't work well either.
Review 9:The room was huge and had a private outdoor space looking out onto the Sea of Cortez, with a hammock, table and chairs and a lounge chair. The king sized bed was super comfortable. The hosts Mohammed and Estelle were attentive and served a great breakfast every morning.
Review 10:Apart from having to leave - nothing!
Review 11:An excellent choice! A very warm welcome, really helpful hosts, lovely little garden and a perfect location just off the malecon. Top floor apartment was great for the family.
Review 12:THe bathroom in our room was a little tight to get into but nothing major
Review 13:The Malecon and the feel of the town. Mohammed and Estelle were absolutely the most delightful hosts
Review 14:Just a suggestion...if there could be an info sheet on description of a few good eating establishments.
Review 15:Great location, Estelle and Mohamed were wonderful hosts and very interesting guests. Lovely breakfast and plentiful!
Review 16:The Piano room was big enough and ceiling high enough, but it is right in the entrance so if you are a light sleeper not recommended. And if you're tall you might hit you head in the low ceiling bathroom.
Review 17:Our stay at Posada Colibri was lovely. Estelle and Mohammed were pleasant and available. We drove in after 8pm Robert across the street at Gaviotas helped us out. The posada is about two blocks from el Malecon. We were there the last two days of Carnaval so it was loud at night, which we expected so we didn’t mind. The rest of our stay was quiet. Coffee and breakfast homemade and in community with the rest of the people staying there. It was a good deal to have use of the kitchen. Location is great as you can walk towards the malecon or into town for ice cream at La Michoacana, handmade tortillas, or fish tacos at Estadio. Would stay here again. Maybe a different room. Piano room-best price in the house.
Review 18:Wifi didn't seem to work at one point
Review 19:Estelle and Mohamed were friendly and helpful hosts who welcomed us and were very flexible with our schedule. Our apartment was immaculate with excellent kitchen facilities and had a wonderful view from the outdoor patio. Breakfast was delicious.
Review 20:I spent there 5 nights in 2 different rooms and I liked it a lot. Both rooms were big, had a terrace, seaview and were very nice equipped. Breakfast is excellent and it is only a few minutes walk to the center.
Review 21:Wish we had known about the heated pool in the adjacent pool sooner as the weather wasn't that warm during our visit.
Review 22:Friendly, helpful staff. Quiet location, but close to Malecon & restaurants. Made-to-order breakfast & coffee in-room included. Good value.
Review 23:if I could change any thing about our stay it would be the sound of the parrot next door in the wee hours of the morn and the low concrete doorless ( that could have a curtain for privacy) doorway that left each of us with bumps
Review 24:The posada was clean and bright, with no unpleasant surprises. The hosts were fabulous and super helpfull, the courtyard with pool, lawn, flowers and birds was delightful to behold as we ate our delicious complimentary breakfast. And the location was great, just off the Malecon, not too noisy and close to the center of town, a short walk to a great grocery store, restaurants and the bus depot. we also enjoyed watching the sunset from the balcony our room!
Review 25:The bathroom was a little awkward in Piano room. Have to watch your head because the ceiling is very low in one area as it is below the stairwell. Other than that, excellent room.
Review 26:Estelle & Mohamed are doing a great job for only being there for two weeks! Wonderful place! Great location and value.
Review 27:Very pleased to have stayed here. Great location close to the Malecon but still very quiet. Estelle and Mohamed were warm and welcoming and excellent hosts. Large, bright and very comfortable room. Thanks for a great stay!
Review 28:Wifi was slow.
Review 29:The managers of Posada Colibri were very attentive and eager to please. We found some abandoned kitties at a gas station and they took care of them and helped us find them a home. Good people- to say the least. The location was perfect - near the malecon and all the amenities. Our room was spacious and clean. It was a little loud but if you can embrace the sounds of real Mexico, you'll enjoy your stay.
Review 30:Gracious, informative hosts. Very comfortable room. Great view of ocean sunsets. Close to everything in town. Kitchen available to do our own cooking. Pool available We'll be back!
Review 31:Everything was very good, our only "complaint" would be that the WiFi on the 3rd floor was not great. The solution was to go down to the living room, easy fix!
Review 32:This B&B is a lovely, beautifully restored home, is kept very clean by the wonderful Gabriela, and is run by a delightful couple who are very knowledgeable about La Paz and willing to help with just about anything. The location is one block off the malecon, easy to find, close to the bus station. The breakfasts are hearty and delicious. Really enjoyed our stay at Posada Colibri.
Review 33:The big 2 bed room is amazing. Super big terrasse, nice location, excellent kitchen , nice owners. If I have to find a problem is only that you need 3 keys to enter in the room. The rest is just perfect. I will be back in one month.
Review 34:We liked all aspects of Posada Colubri.
Review 35:Three of us traveled to La Paz for business and decided to book at Posada Colubri instead of the conference hotel. We were so glad we made this decision! Every aspect of our stay was beyond our expectations. The atmosphere at Posada Colubri was friendly and comfortable. Diane and Darrell were unbelievably helpful with taxis, dinner reservations, suggestions on what to see, and each morning served a diverse and tasty breakfast! We loved our spacious room (King room on second floor) with its amazing terrace overlooking the water and sunsets. As you will discover, Colubri means hummingbird. Be sure to watch them at breakfast as they come to the feeders in the garden.
Review 36:Unfortunately we got the one less desirable room on the upper floor facing to the side. The bathroom especially the shower were claustrophobic. The fridge next to the bed was noisy as were the neighbors dogs at night. The wifi in the room was alternating between very flaky or non exist. We would have asked for a different room if we were staying longer.
Review 37:Hosts were super friendly and very helpful. Breakfast was excellent as was the location of the place. Most of the rooms are very nice. Try and ask for a room with a patio. Avoid the top floor room facing to the back and side.
Review 38:Staff were amazing and room was clean, spacious and very comfortable
Review 39:Loved the balcony with hammock and table for enjoying coffee. Mohamed and Estelle very friendly and prepare a lovely breakfast.

Review 44:Sehr freundliche Gastgeber
Review 45:Host were so friendly and welcoming. Cooked awesome breakfast and provided great local information.
Review 46:Everything! Such a personal phenomenal experience. Estella and Mohammed, you rock!
Review 47:Everything was great!!!
Review 48:Great location, friendly hosts, awesome value-
Review 49:The only issue were the stairs. We had assumed that there was an elevator.
Review 50:The staff was friendly and helpful. The breakfast was delicious.
Review 51:outside noise...barking dogs, squawking parrot
Review 52:Excellent service, good breakfasts, attractive surroundings
Review 53:the posada it's really nice and comfortable, it's close to the malecon, hopefully we'll go back soon!
Review 54:Staff were great.
Review 55:Great location for walking about the Malecon and other areas. The hosts were extremely friendly and helpful with lots of suggestions.
Review 56:great location by Malecon, very clean, comfy beds, helpful and friendly hosts,
Review 57:Diane and Darrell (the Owners) are so nice and helpful. Our room was awesome with a great view on the sea. We will sure come back!
Review 58:We were in La Paz at the end of May, for us the temperature was too hot. We would certainly want to go to La Paz again, now that we know we like it, we would go again, but in the winter when the temperature is cooler.
Review 59:Diane & Darrell were very good with everthing from helping us with our luggage, giving directions and suggestions and Diane even gave Dixie a cutting from her Aloe Vera plant to apply to her sunburn (she also loaned her some lotion). Very accomodating Managers. Thanks Diane & Darrell you made our stay great!
Review 60:We spent 2 nights in "The Nest" room on the 3rd floor with exquisite sunset views from our private patio - and equally beautiful views throughout the day. Darrell and Diane were tremendously hospitable, friendly, helpful in making recommendations on places we might visit and eat; they offered several times to make reservations for us for dinner and outings and one night the 4 of us enjoyed a long visit poolside with delicious margaritas prepared by Diane and salsa and chips. The location was a comfortable and fun walk to the Malecon, old town stores restaurants, the cathedral - we always felt safe whether walking during the day or returning at night. We weren't leaving La Paz until several hours after check-out and they couldn't have been more accommodating - they stored our luggage, made available to us a room for changing when we came back to collect the luggage, and just did everything possible to make our stay comfortable, enjoyable and relaxing, including calling a taxi (they use the same driver always), to get us to the airport at a most reasonable price. The breakfast provided with the room was served at the adjacent hotel around the pool and prepared to order by two lovely ladies in an outside kitchen. Breakfast was tasty, the portions were generous, and the setting was delightful for a start to the day. We had no negative comments or issues about Posada Calibri or Diane and Darrell.
Review 61:The noise and inconvenience of "Carnival" traffic routing! Thank God for Tom Tom!
Review 62:The attitude of the manager and his willingness to please with a smile.
Review 63:If I have to choose something I didn't like, it would be the lack of water pressure in the shower at times. But this is a very small inconvenience.
Review 64:Location is fantastic! One block off the Malacon, where all the activity is. Walking distance to many shops & restaurants. Hosts, Diane & Darrel, were very friendly, gave great advice, and took care of reservations for us at local restaurants and tourist places. The building is clean and comfortable, and well maintained. Better than I expected. Before we even left, we were discussing when we would come back for a return stay at the Pasada Colibri. We felt very welcome at this place. It is a great value for the money.
Review 65:Noisy dog barking at night. However, they provide good earplugs.
Review 66:We were in the nest. Beautiful covered patio overlooking the bay and malecon. Good wifi. Nice kitchen. Host very helpful, good recommendations.
Review 67:We had a great stay, the location of the hotel is perfect. Special mention to the great people who welcomed us: they were very helpful and were really willing us to spend a perfect time there. And this is what we had.
Review 68:We did not stay longer.
Review 69:Our hosts were exceptional, it was a great value for our money and the facility was more than we expected. Simply loved our experience, the hosts, the facility and time together.
Review 70:Dianne and Daryl were the best hosts ever! They went out of their way to make us feel at home and had a few "margarita" nights as a way to socialize and meet the other guests. They were knowledgable about the area and gave us good suggestions of places to go. We stayed in two separate suites over our week stay, both of which were very comfortable and cozy. Very good breakfast served with homemade bread. We would love to return one day!
Review 71:Internet wasn't strong but that wasn't very important to us...
Review 72:Loved the location ......instantly felt like family........ and........ the bed was amazingly comfortable! Will definitely be back!
Review 73:The breakfast at the neighboring hotel was average (for a real Mexican feel go somewhere else)
Review 74:The garden was really nice. Friendly and clean place to relax after a full day of beach activities. Close to the Malecon. Service there and at the neighboring hotel was great.
Review 75:Both the owners Gail & Chalo and the managers Diane and Darrel were very friendly and hospitable. Diane and Darrel went above and beyond from giving great tips on places to eat to providing beach chairs and an umbrella, some chocolate cake for a snack and Margueritas when we returned in the evening! We extended our stay from one day to three as it was one of the best places on our two week tour of Los Cabo and La Paz. Fantastic value.
Review 76:So close by the beach and promenade as we could go for a stroll by the water every morning
Review 77:The view from the deck looking over the Sea of Cortez
Review 78:Best place I stayed during my trip to BCS. Great room, great location, and the best of all, friendly and welcoming staff that make you feel home.
Review 79:barking dogs, squawking parrot in the early morning
Review 80:the hospitality, the patio view from the top floor, location, felt like home., the margueritas....
Review 81:A little bit chilly during the night comparing to other places
Review 82:Very very good
