Reviews for Riad Atlas Prestige

Review 1:The accommodation is high on the side of a hill so be prepared to walk a little bit and even if you think you will make it with your luggage (we didn't want to tire the mules and we said we will climb alone) unfortunately you end up using them, there is no other way to make it.

Review 2:This is an amazing value for money treat.Hussein, the person that does pretty much everything, is the most attentive person and gives attention to details, every owner would like to have a person like that inside his staff.Rich breakfast, even better dinner, worth staying inside to eat since the village food is overpriced(for what it is) and tastes awful, here dinner was superb. We were extremely tired when we arrived so next day we asked for a small trail for trekking and Hussein suggested again a beautiful walk, exactly what we needed. We had a lovely time and i highly recommend this extreme value for money accommodation,it was the best place we reserved in Morocco by far in middle-range category.

Review 3:A home from home, I have never felt more welcome in a hotel than at the atlas prestige. Nothing is too much trouble and you really feel like you are a personal guest of the staff. It is up a steep hill, but it's absolutely worth the climb as you get incredible views of the valley and mountains and it's a great base for the start of a trek. Make sure you ask for the riad to organise your transport as they will make sure there is a mule to carry your luggage up the hill. The owners called our taxi driver during our transfer to the airport to ask if we wanted dinner when we arrived- which was lovely as we were tired from the flight. The food is simple and delicious, we never got tired of the house tagine! It gets quite cold in the December evenings but the staff made the place super cosy and we loved hanging out by the fire playing cards. If you are staying in the mountains we'd highly recommend the atlas prestige.

Review 4:Stunning views and a very warm welcome from Hassan. Excellent breakfast and dinner, one of the best tagines we had in Morocco. Extra touches like hot water bottles at bedtime made us feel at home and the room was well heated and cosy with lots of extra blankets if needed. On top of this the people of Imlil and neighbouring village Aremd are amongst the friendliest I've met whilst travelling. I dropped my sunglasses and gloves on a hike and a couple of hours later a man from Aremd came to find me in Imlil to return them. I look forward to returning in the future!

Review 5:- very nice and helpfull staff! - nicely furnished and clean place with excellent view - great dinner which was quickly prepared for us upon our arrival We highly recommend to stay at this place!!

Review 6:The hospitality of the staff was amazing. Hassan made us feel very at home and was a perfect host during our stay. The location is ideal for trekking in the mountains around Imlil and the views from the terrace are superb.

Review 7:We arrived late in the afternoon to a cosy Riad with a warm fire and lots of candles. It's about a 10-15min walk up to the Riad from Imlil (quite a hike with big bags!) they had organised a mule to collect our things, though we weren't aware of this till we got to the Riad! We were warmly greeted with mint tea and a big bowl of nuts. Our room was very comfortable. The staff/owner was super friendly and very helpful in organising crampons/sleeping bags/ a guide for our hike up toubkal the following day. They even lent us jackets and gloves for free. We ate dinner at the Riad in front of the fire. It was an enormous but delicious tajine (and they boxed up the leftovers for us for our hike the next day), yummy salad to go with and fruit to follow. One of our nicest nights in Morocco. Breakfast was also very substantial (cereal, fried egg, breads, coffee/tea). They let us leave gear at the Riad while we hiked toubkal and let us shower on our return two days later. And organised a mule down for us. They could not have been more hospitable - they really went out of their way to make our stay better. Definitely recommend this place for a stay in Imlil.

Review 8:Rooms are basic and the daily cleaning could be a little more thorough.

Review 9:A homely and friendly guesthouse with an amazing view of the mountains. Food is basic but wholesome. Excellent customer service.

Review 10:Everything about this Riad was perfect. The staff were so friendly and helpful, we felt very at home. The view was stunning and the room was comfortable. Would recommend.

Review 11:our stay at the riad atlas was very pleasant, the views are stunning, the food is fresh and hussain and his little team are a credit to their village. if your staying in this vicinity to climb mt toubkal, then this place is perfect.

Review 12:The shower had a very slow drain that backed up when used. All else was excellent.

Review 13:The hospitality was great. The food was way above average. Some of the best on our trip of three weeks! Both breakfast and dinner.

Review 14:The Riad was lovely and by the end of our stay I actually enjoyed the walk up the hill to get to it. The staff were really lovely and helpful. They organised a guide for us to go on a hike even though it was Eid. The food was great and the rooms really comfy and cosy. The view from the Riad is really amazing and it was so nice to just sit on the balcony and take it all in. Looking forward to visiting again one day.

Review 15:We stayed for two nights and the room was not cleaned. There was a permanent puddle on the bathroom floor, which we dried with a towel. Towels were not replaced.

Review 16:Beautiful location high on the hill. Fantastic view from the balcony. Cosy atmosphere and good meals. Donkey transport for luggage.

Review 17:I must of missed the part where they say it's a ten minute walk up hill, they did however offer to take us and luggage on donkeys. Once over the fact there was a walk we actually enjoyed the exercise :)

Review 18:I liked how traditional the place was. They left us traditional slippers and dressing gown to wear. It was very colourful and had a great mountain view. We didn't stay long enough to sample their food but it smelt wonderful. Also left early morning to go mountain biking so missed breakfast too.

Review 19:Nothing!

Review 20:Great base to explore the Atlas Mountains. We stayed here before and after climbing Toubkal. Lovely staff, good food and really comfortable rooms and communal areas. It is up a steep track out of Imlil but they send a mule for you and your bags!

Review 21:The wifi was spotty. Also, in some situations there was a language barrier so make sure you communicate clearly.

Review 22:views were amazing from terrace aircon worked great dinner on the terrace was amazing

Review 23:After dark, access to and from Imlil for eating etc requires a walk up a hillside that is not for the weak-kneed. Though this is traded off for the view

Review 24:Beautiful view, lovely Berber-style furnishings (and even hooded Berber robes for your use of it gets cold!), supremely hospitable host Houseyn who went beyond the call of duty in terms of helpful extras (luggage storage, use of shower when I came back from Toubkal despite having checked out). The breakfast is excellent too-make sure you leave enough time to enjoy it.

Review 25:Had a great 3 days there and Hussain looked after us tremendously well. Providing tea and drinks on our return each day and a great dinner. Kids loved the mule trip up the hill. Would definitely go back again. Thanks Hussain, Abdul and all the staff

Review 26:Moderately good food, although the portions in terms of size are ok. Location - for us (family with young children), it was a clear advantage and a fun adventure, but it may be some serious flaw to others - the guest house is reachable after a 15-20 minute sharp ascent along the stony and earthy path. Certainly for the elderly, or those with limited mobility, it can be a very big effort.

Review 27:In terms of value for money it is unquestionably the best place I've ever been to. For little money you get a private access to the extraordinary mountain village and views of the mountain passes and valley at any time of day or night. This is one of those unique places that have not been contaminated by mass tourism and prices allow for a peaceful and long-lasting rest. If someone is looking for a place where tradition, culture, contact with nature and physical activity intersect with one another - Imlil and Riad Atlas Prestige is the place for you. An ideal place for trekking, on-site alpine guide who has a very good sense of direction and is extremely nice and helpful in developing plans for trips to the mountains.

Review 28:The location of this Riad is unbelievable - views of the mountains from the room and the balcony were breath taking and when the stars appeared in the evening made a great place for star gazing. You will also need to have an empty stomach when you arrive - dinner and breakfast are both generous and delicious!

Review 29:Everything was great, starting with the pre-arranged pickup from Marrakech airport and the waiting mule to carry our bags from the car to the Riad. The staff were really helpful and friendly, the views amazing and the dinners tasty. Good value for money and hassle free.

Review 30:As this is quite a small and cheap hotel I could have never hoped for such quality. Rich continental breakfast, comfortable rooms with extraordinary view on mountains. Hotel also provides customers with very reasonably priced tours to nearby villages.

Review 31:Great staff, and really good food. Took two half-day hikes in the area just following the directions provided by the hotel, and it was wonderful. Ask about the shortcut from there to the pass you can see from the hotel terrace!

Review 32:Very surprising: beautiful location and panoramic views, beautiful interiors, confortable rooms, wonderful matresses, good restrooms, staff simpathy and availability, very clean, very good meals (also vegan if requested)...all this for an excellent price! Even when renting the whole house be aware that the staff will always be there to take care of the space and you!

Review 33:A bit of a walk up the hill to get there (10 minutes), but the hotel donkey will carry your things, and the view is much better up there than from the city center.

Review 34:We arrived late at night and found that Abdou and the rest of the staff were waiting for us in the parking lot, ready to escort us the the hotel. The rooms were clean, bed was comfortable, and wifi was usable. The balcony was an amazing place to have breakfast (great view), and they even gave us straw hats when the sunlight got to be a bit hot on our heads. To top it all off, we left a small bag at the property and Abdou was kind enough to ship it to us in Tangier a few days later. Thanks again Abdou!

Review 35:There was nothing I didn't like about the Atlas Prestige but take a torch as there are no street lights and something to amuse yourself for the evenings.

Review 36:The location was great, not that easy to get to but very much worth the effort. Great Homely Moroccan Service. Great views over the mountains. It is perfect for hilll walkers. I would go back and recommend it to others. Value, hard to beat.

Review 37:Nothing

Review 38:The riad is basically new so the facilities we needed were excellent. There are only a few rooms so you're not just another guest, but the guest, the guys were superb and helped us with everything we needed, early breakfasts, keeping our stuff for a few days whilst we trekked, helping us with arrangements and down the path to the village in the dark at 5.30 am.. :) excellent!! Great shower and bed and superb terraces 10/10

Review 39:Nothing was bad, but just some comments to help future guests. It was quite cold in the room (especially bathroom) but we were there in March. Not reachable by car (we arrived in the dark and it was raining. Please note that you have to climb up a dirt hill) The nice part is, is that they pick you up with a donkey in the village and bring your stuff up to the guest house.

Review 40:Service and Cleanliness

Review 41:WiFi wasn't working but no problem for us. The hike up to the riad is a bit steep but worth it.

Review 42:Hassan really really cares about his guests and spoiled us with delicious dinner and breakfast. He lit candles, the oven and even gave us hot bottles as it is colder in the mountains. He made us feel really comfortable and we really felt at home. The room was spacious, clean and had a great view.

Review 43:We spent a wonderful week-end in this hôtel, the view from our room and from the balcony was amazing as well as the food and the staff, we enjoyed Hussein's food and his hospitality, we'll definitly go back one day.

Review 44:Hard to find Riad. Ask a friendly local and they will find a guide plus mule for you. You have to leave car in village of Imlal and scramble up mule track for about 20 minutes with luggage carried by mule. A word of warning -you need strong legs or ability to ride mule.

Review 45:Breathtaking view from the roof terrace looking across valley to snow capped Atlas Mountains. Staff couldn't do enough to please. Breakfast and evening meal of Tagine by log burner both excellent.

Review 46:Brand new hotel, very friendly staff who prepared a good dinner (and not the same menu every night!), excellent breakfast with fresh orange juice, a/c in the rooms doubles as heating (very useful in winter), wifi worked fine (not always the case in Morocco to put it mildly). Not a problem for us, but it should be noted that the hotel is a 10-minute uphill hike from Imlil. The owners will be happy to send a guy (with or without a mule) to collect the luggage (and/or you yourself, if you wish).
