Reviews for Dar Atlas

Review 1:I wish there was heating in the bedrooms.

Review 2:Jamal was super helpful organizing hiking equipment for me and for a great price. The place was clean and comfortable. The food was delicious too! The place would have been difficult to find on my own, but Jamal found me in the town centre so I didn't have to worry.

Review 3:The bed was uncomfortable, for the majority of the day after I got there, the water was turned off. Also, the view from the roof is gorgeous, but there's only a few plastic chairs to sit on. They should really work to make the roof more welcoming. And the walk from Imlil to the guest house is much farther than they make it seem in the description

Review 4:The breakfast was pretty good. And Jamal provided a sleeping bag for me to use when I stayed at the refuge. The dinner cooked by Jamal's wife was also very good.

Review 5:Great location in a super quiet area, surrounded by true berbers. Jamal will help you with everything you need but never being too intrusive. Also, excellent homemade berber food to be enjoyed in the terrace. Really happy about it, we'll come back.

Review 6:Great stay! Jamal is so friendly and has a wealth of information about hiking in the area. Have dinner here if you stay, his wife's food was the best we tasted in a month in Morocco! And they catered to our non meat eating needs as we're fish eating vegetarians. Jamal stored our bags at no extra charge while we hiked Toubkal. Highly recommended!

Review 7:The owner Jamal and his family were absolutetly wonderful, giving us useful travel advice, helping us to book a desert trip and providing a warm family atmosphere. The facilities were also quite good, especially considering that Imllil is a small, remote mountain village! Don't hesitate to book this hotel at such an unbelievably low price!

Review 8:The owner found us near the town centre so we didn't get lost. He also gave us the ensuite room and only charged us 80 dirham which is the price for other rooms. We also had a welcome tea (delicious) and a big dinner for two for only 110 dirham. The family is nice and very helpful. I d highly recommend staying in this hotel. You won't get better value for money for sure :)

Review 9:Nothing bad - a sharing toilet and shower.

Review 10:A low cost accommodation with basic facilities surrounded by atlas mountains - full of nature - a bit cold in the winter - the owner (Jamil) is not greedy yet really helpful.

Review 11:Shower

Review 12:We staied 3 nights and was great! Jamal and your family are really friendly and Helpful, the dinner is peferct delicious couscuz and Tanine, actually was the best in Morocco! And when we back to Marrakech Jamat get a ride for us with he s friend! Imlil was the best time in Morocco!

Review 13:- everything was perfect!

Review 14:- The owner is reserved at first but very interesting and being a mountain guide can give you plenty of advise about outdoor activities and hikes in the region. - The hotel is heated (very useful at this altitude in winter) and a good wifi internet. - The room is 300m from the road with a concrete pathway, a parking is available and the rooms are very quiet with superb views. The hotel is a little outside of Imlil, but therefore a much nicer location. - Excellent dinner, breakfast and "welcome-tea" - Probably the best value-for-money accomodation in our trip

Review 15:Little bit cold in winter time, better you prepare worm clothes (obviously). Hot water not always working, but it was not a problem.

Review 16:English speaking owner, tourist guide. Giving lots of informations about region, culture etc. Very happy to help. Wifi available. Family very nice, with small kid. Breakfast so tasty and full Bio (eggs, oil, milk, butter, bread) The price for this service is amazing. If you want to visit imlil and go around - I strongly recommend Jamal's Dar Atlas. You will be happy. The hotel position is most sunny part of the village, with beautiful view. It is very clean inside.

Review 17:There is nothing to dislike, definitely nothing for us... It exceeded expectations of every one of us four.

Review 18:From minute we were guided by local girl to Dar Atlas and were invited in by Jamal with typical Morrocan mint tea we felt in love with that place and we will return for sure as there is still plenty for us to discover. As we are 4 hikers we were often comming back very late evening, but still got tasty dinner, no matter when we arrived. We did really enjoy Jamals tajins and breakfast was brilliant energy boost for us as well and again even early as 5am as we had to be very early on the road. And we finaly discovered proper taste of mandarines :D. Jamal probably does not know it, but he saved us successful Toubkal mountain ascent as well. He called local hire shop in Imlil for us to get crampons for next days ascent of mountain as we arrived just before 6pm when shop down in village was already closing. We were able to get them that evening in village, only to find out next day, they are all gone at Refuge Toubkal up in mountains and we would have to wait there another 24h to get them, if not for him. Also weather got much worse, so we wouldnt be able to finnish ascent at all. We also got loads of help with trip to Sahara desert, where he called his friend to book for us camel trip to desert with overnight stay there, gave us instruction were to go what to avoid, simply perfect host. If you are 5* Hilton kind of person you are not going to look for this kind of stay and if you are not then I cannot recommend it enough. Thank you Jamal for all your help, you are the best host ever. See you soon again. P,J,K &I

Review 19:If for that price you can come up with something you don`t like, there is something wrong with you

Review 20:Place is simplistic but very clean tidy and comfortable. Would recommand to without hesitation

Review 21:It was a cold and heating in the bedroom would have been a welcome addition.

Review 22:Very friendly and helpful staff Delicious food Stunning scenery Excellent base for excursions

Review 23:Wonderful family, Jamal, Fatiha and Sara, with your help I had an enjoyable three weeks stay. Festival and Hamman was unfogetable Bare and rugged mountains, Berber culture and their faith. Unique little villages I would like to come back again, of course to your family.

Review 24:The room was clean and I liked the cozy carpets on the floor. We had two meals there; the food was tasty and portions were more than generous. The owner was very helpful and gave us a lot of tips on trekking in Atlas and climbing Toubkal. While in Morocco, we stayed in 6 different places and this was the only place where we were welcomed with tea and biscuits. It is a family run business and I liked the fact that the owner took time to make us feel welcome in his house. Considering a very reasonable price, I definitely recommend.

Review 25:The mattress was too hard for us. WifI works insufficiently.

Review 26:Very hospitable owner although not especially talkactive. Quite place. Breakfast included, big portions. Cheap meals to buy at place.

Review 27:Everything was really good and nice. Host is really nice and helpful, food is very delicious and portions are huge! Totally recomended!:)

Review 28:Friendly family owning the Guesthouse and providing great breakfast and dinner. Clean and big rooms. Nice terrace with view on the Atlas

Review 29:A bit hard to find, look it up on a map before you go there!

Review 30:Nice home made breakfast (included) and dinner (extra)

Review 31:The host arranged everything for our trip to Mount Toubkal. From shoes till sleeping bags. For a good price. And we love the cooking!

Review 32:Jamal and family very helpful.

Review 33:Nothing. Expect maybe some noise depending on the neighbours you will have.

Review 34:Location, cleanliness and price. Excellent stop-over before taking off.

Review 35:Jamal selling overpriced hiking trips Cold rooms Luke warm showers Hard beds

Review 36:Price Dinner for 60 dirham Breakfast was nice

Review 37:Owners are very helpful, rooms are comfy, breakfast and dinner were amazing!

Review 38:Welcoming, friendly and helpful people, clean and comfortable room, delicious breakfast and dinner, nice, autentic environment. Highly recommend.

Review 39:kind staff, good breakfast, good position, parking free

Review 40:Vary clean and it has vary good and interesting carpet each room, and living room. Atmosphere was amazing good. Owner is also pro mountain guide. He gave me information about trekking. So I could enjoy trekking with safety.

Review 41:The guesthouse was charmingly located off the beaten track, five minutes walk from the nearest road in a traditional mountain village within easy walking distance of Imlil. We loved the rural setting; the chickens and other animals and the magnificent views. Jamal and his family were very hospitable and the food in particular was delicious and good value for money. We liked the simplicity of the accommodation and were well furnished with heaters and blankets for the cold December nights. This is a great place to stay if you want to escape from western trappings and want a more traditional rural experience.
