Hotel Mea is just over a quarter mile from the port in the center of Lipari. It features an Aeolian restaurant and a sea-view swimming pool with hydro-massage jets. The Moorish-style rooms include a furnished patio or balcony.
Rooms at the Mea are air-conditioned, and decorated with bright colors and tile floors. Each includes a minibar and a private bathroom with a hairdryer. All provide free high-speed internet access.
The restaurant serves local cuisine and specializes in fish dishes. A daily Italian buffet breakfast is provided.
The beaches of Canneto are 2.5 miles from the property. Ferries depart from the port of Lipari, a 5-minute walk away, to all the Aeolian islands, as well as Milazzo, Messina and Reggio Calabria.

Review 1：Nothing. Wished the restaurant was open as it was closed in the low season.

Review 2：We went off season, so there were very few guests. But we had a very warm welcome from the staff who were helpful and friendly. The room was large and comfortable. Wi-Fi worked well and bed was very comfortable.

Review 3：Staff was not as friendly or helpful as at other places we stayed in Sicily. Decor was overdone.

Review 5：Hotel is located on a hillside on the 'other' side of Lipari from the main streets with restaurants. It is a short walk (10 minutes), so not a major issue but good to know if traveling with young children. We ate 1 dinner at the hotel restaurant and would not recommend it - we didn't get what we ordered (although were charged for it) and the overall quality of the food was not as high as other restaurants in the area who are better priced.

Review 11：There was no food after 15:00 and the bar charged us 5 Euros for white bread toast with a piece of cheese on it. And it was a tiny toast too! When we asked for suggestions and recommendations, the staff at the hotel told us they are not allowed to give any. It really looked like they were afraid to speak to us and say something wrong. It was quite unpleasant. Also, going to the beach is quite an effort. You must take a bus or a taxi and pay extra for the travel and sun beds and umbrellas. I know other hotels organise a shuttle to the beach.

Review 12：Our room was immaculate and in perfect working condition. So we truly enjoyed all the facilities. The air conditioner was particularly great! I have allergies and generally get a soar throat from AC, but this one must have had clean filters as it gave me no trouble and maintained a cool environment in-spite of the outside temperature being +39C.

Review 13：We booked bed and breakfast only but decided to eat in the restaurant one night. I wouldn't bother with this again. The waiter service did not seem very organised, we had to wait a very long time for the food to arrive and when it did, it was mediocre. Other guests were also complaining about the long wait.

Review 18：Everything about our stay was more than we expected. The hotel, our room, the swimming pool, the staff and the location were all amazing. We would recommend hotel mea to anyone wanting a calm, stylish and quality place to stay!

Review 19：Breakfast food was horrible as was the pre-brewed coffee. (We are usedto getting a freshly-made coffee in nice hotels in Italy.) We skipped iton our second morning altogether and paid for our own breakfast in town.We also tried the restaurant for dinner the first night and I would sayavoid it. We ate much better elsewhere on the island (both in terms offood, value and service.)

Review 20：The location is a short walk from the town center, giving the hotel atranquility others don't have. The staff picked us up at the ferrywith a courtesy van. We had a really pleasant and stylish room with apatio out back. Very comfortable, clean, great WiFi and amazing viewsfrom the pool area. The staff at the front desk was professional andcheerful. I would definitely go back!

Review 21：octopus at restaurant very tough. The waiter replaced it with equally tough chewy inedible octopus. Service at restaurant indifferent. bath taps hoses etc placed just where you need to stand for a shower

Review 23：Hotel is situated close enough to town to walk and not require a car. It is situated far enough up the hillside to afford a beautiful view of harbor. Hospitality of staff was amazing from the moment we checked in. The place is beautifully maintained and clean. Pool was beautiful with lounge chairs and towels provided. Breakfasts were wonderful with many choices available. We would not hesitate to recommend and would return again!

Review 24：Some of the facilities were run-down and evidently in need of some investment, both in our room and elsewhere in the hotel. This meant that the nightly rate seemed a bit too high. We also ate once at Chimera, the hotel restaurant. It was unfortunately by far the worst meal we had during our two week stay in Sicily, and was not good value for money.

Review 25：The location was very convenient to Lipari, and it was a great help to have the shuttle to and from the port with luggage. All staff members were very helpful. The swimming pool has a beautiful view of Lipari and the harbour. The breakfast was adequate.

Review 26：Although the situation is fine for the view, it is an uphill walk from the town. This is OK the first time, but if you want to go down to the centre for dinner, or have a late return from an excursion, it's a bit far to walk back in the dark. We had a ground floor room with a little terrace overlooking the pool; our neighbours were very noisy on their part of the terrace until after 1.00 am.

Review 27：The clean, comfortable, spacious room, with everything we like: good bathroom with bathtub, AC and WiFi which work well, a desk, two chairs. The breakfast was good, served on a part covered terrace with a fine view. Dinner is also served there, good but a bit expensive for every night.

Review 33：We instantly relaxed on arrival and felt so looked after by the wonderful team. Breakfast was lovely overlooking the water and the restaurant quality was fantastic in the evenings (book in advance!). We also spent many an hour relaxing by the pool, enjoying the water and a cocktail or two. The room was very small, but we didn't mind as it was so clean and comfy. If ever back in Lipari we wouldn't stay anywhere else. Excellent value for money and just a short walk to the town and a nice walk through the streets to Marina Corta (Marina Lunga where you arrive is not so pretty).

Review 34：The services of the hotel were not very well explained (for example if we could use the bus service to the beaches, which beaches were "free" as part of the hotel) The reception staff were not forthcoming with information, we needed to ask many questions to try and gather the information for ourselves.

Review 37：- Location was excellent. 5 mins walk downhill to the old town streets. But the Hillside location is key, this facilitates the cracking views across the harbour and to the Old Town on the opposite hill which is bathed in sunlight until 8pm, (pretty sweet given this is a sunrise facing hotel). Get a harbour view!! - Pool is awesome and super chilled. - The staff recommended Kasbah Cafe, which was absolutely delicious and stylish. - The other customers all seemed pleasant which made for a nice poolside and breakfast atmosphere

Review 38：If you like a hot shower do not stay at this hotel!!! The thermostat is set to Luke warm although the staff lie through their teeth when they receive complaints about the tepid water. Breakfast is less than average. Also you must get to breakfast early. They do not replenish. If you get there at 9 or after, all you will have is very tired leftovers. I asked for a second cup of coffee one morning & received a very dirty look. Lipari is a beautiful island but this hotel really spoiled our holiday.

Great pool area, really well finished room and attention to detail. Only a 5 minute downhill walk to Lipari which keeps you away from the 'busyness' but close enough to explore and walk to dinner. Cafe Kasbar comes highly recommended! On site restaurant looked a bit empty and soulless, although we didn't eat there so cannot comment on quality or price, but there is lots of choice in town.

The location of the hotel to the main street - Via Vittoria Emanuel II is very handy. We had a fantastic time.

Review 90：Everything ! An amazing pool still warm enough to swim in even though we were there in late October. Very helpful and friendly staff. Complimentary drop off and pick up from wharf ...great with heavy luggage. Fantastic breakfast but get in quick fir the chocolate pastries !!

Review 97：Room was small with very little space for clothes. There was a weddingat the hotel on the Saturday which meant that the pool was closed from1pm and the restaurant also. Effectively there was no public spaceavailable to guests for the whole day. This was completely unacceptable-no warning was given when booking and no reduction in the price

Review 106：The hotel itself is very well finished. The pool has a view out over thebay and the castle on the headland, from both the swimming pool and fromthe jacuzzi part beneath. The are clean and comfortable and very largecompared to a lot of hotels I have stayed at in Italy. The rooms areserviced twice a day. A plus when staying on an island. It's alittle walk up a road from the centre of Lipari, takes between 5minutes, meaning it's not in the hustle of the main town. Theservice at the hotel is also spectacular, and really made the stay atthe hotel something special. There's 24 hour front desk cover, andthe staff is really helpful and they go out of their way to help us. Thebar staff were attentive and friendly. A great plus of the hotel is itsrestaurant, that stands out by far from most of the other restaurants ofthe island, in terms of elegance, menu and quality for money. Will Istay here again - hands down yes!
