Reviews for Club El Moro

Review 1:Cold pool,no internet in the room

Review 2:Beautiful building, night desk clerk very helpful ,hot tub. Gave us a secure parking spot for our fully loaded truck, without asking them. Beautiful pool area.large quiet room.

Review 3:Internet is inadequate. Hard to justify traveling and staying here on business.

Review 4:Great location. On the malacon but far enough from the activity to have a serene setting

Review 5:Curtains in room a little shabby, only one light working on landing; hotel construction view from the balcony.

Review 6:Likes the cleanliness and attractiveness of the grounds and staff mostly extremely helpful and pleasant.

Review 7:The room and bathroom were clean, and the staff was very friendly. The location is on the Malecon but a 15-20 minute walk from most of the major restaurants/bars, but I enjoyed the quiet and relaxing atmosphere.

Review 8:The air conditioner was preprogrammed and the room was usually either too hot or too cold. The grounds were stark and odd. The bar was pretty bad, as was the restaurant, which only had burgers and enchiladas out of a can when I was there. The price was far different than advertised, with a bizarre set of taxes that looked to be a scam. And you couldn't pay me to go in that pool.

Review 9:The room was fine and the wifi seemed to work well enough. The bed was good.

Review 10:Club Moro is a nice and simple b&b situated on the malecón in La Paz. The staff were friendly and helpful. Since it was low season they granted our wish to be upgraded to a nicer room which turned out to be quite spacious and clean. The architecture/layout of the place with a small set of two story buildings in a lush garden felt much nicer than some of the other B&Bs we saw in town—most of those looked like apartment buildings by the water basically. Walking to and from the very center of town might be an issue when the weather is too hot so I’d recommend renting a car if you’re staying here. I’d actually recommend renting a car in La Paz no matter what; it’s essential to go to the beautiful beaches and towns nearby.

Review 11:Not enough saucepans of various sizes! Lack of knives!

Review 12:Staff were kind and helpful! Place was kind and well tended! Good food severed in the restaurant! The bar tender was very chatty and friendly and full of local information...and we didn't even buy a drink!

Review 13:Hit and miss wi fi connections. It's on the edge of town so if you are travelling on foot it's a good walk down the Malecon to reach the tour companies. Not easy for people with mobility issues to cross the road.

Review 14:Nice hotel. Large rooms.

Review 15:Too many dogs!!!!!! Probably won't stay there again because of that. Otherwise things were iffy but the dogs really turned us off. Advertised discount on coffee and food at restaurant but the motel wouldn't honor.

Review 16:WiFi was gd. rooms were spacious. Ac worked good. Grounds were quaint.

Review 17:Wi fi worked on some of our devices and some not. But it wasn't aproblem as we had 4 devices and 1 of them usually worked.

Review 18:The grounds are incredibly beautiful and peaceful!! Our suite was morethan we expected! It was the perfect place to spend a week!! All of thestaff treated us as though we were guests in their castle. One thingthat I loved is that the maid never bothered us. She timed it to make upthe suite while we were out. Like magic, we always opened the door to aclean, made up room. Our balcony had views of the bay, as I requested, and we spent time every day enjoying the balcony. Certainly one of thevery best places we ever stayed in Mexico. 5Stars note. Tres virgenesrestaurant was recommended by the front desk. Just awesome

Review 19:No in room security safe and no coffee maker. Location is at far end of town so there is a bit of a walk to many of the restaurants.

Review 20:Small hotel with lovely grounds with the malecon right across the road. Most units have kitchen facilities with fridge, stove top, microwave, etc. Good free WiFi.

Review 21:I liked the fountain, pool, and draw bridge. The shower huge and the bed very comfortable. The staff was helpful and pleasant. They helped me get a taxi at 5 am.

Review 22:We had two short stays at the El Moro. On our first stay (one night) our room was on the second floor and was very spacious. On our second stay (two nights) we had a ground floor room that was very small and dark.

Review 23:The staff was very attentive. On a whim, we asked the front desk clerk who he could recommend for taking us on a city tour. He fixed us up with Alberto--an El Moro employee, born and raised in La Paz. Alberto picked us up within the hour and provided us with a great, personalized experience. Alberto also returned to drive us to the airport at 4:30 AM the next morning.

Review 24:I DIDN'T LIKE that I had made my reservations online through booking.com to reserve the room! Your company quoted me around $90 dollars per night, but when I got to the hotel to check in, they told me that the price was $1,900 pesos (around $178 dollars) per night. Even though I showed them the email with my confirmation that included the price of around $90 dollars through booking.com, they said that they wouldn't accept it because their Internet system was down and they couldn't go online to confirm my reservation!! I tried to argue the price because I already had a reservation with a completely different price! The guy sitting at the front desk that day was not welcoming or friendly!! This place was definitely not worth $178 dollars per night!! I could have stayed at the hotel Costa Baja for about that price and that place is definitely worth every single penny since it's a luxury 4-5 star hotel, but I didn't have another choice since everything was sold out that weekend in La Paz so I was stuck paying that outrageous price per night at Club El Moro!! I will never stay or recommend this property to anyone!!

Review 25:The landscaping, space in the room!!

Review 26:I didn't like the fact that my room door didn't lock properly and the staff wasn't able to fix it. Thanks God none of my belonging went missing. Also, room service would forget to leave towels on a couple of occasions.

Review 27:I liked the fact that it was far enough from El Malecon to have some peace and quiet, but close enough to walk there in just a few minutes. It was also close to the main road that takes you the other beaches like El Tesero, Balandra, Pichilingue, and Tecolote. The staff was great, the restaurant was excellent, and the resort style pool area was awesome.

Review 28:beds are good

Review 29:Friendly & accommodating staff. Well stocked room. Air conditioning. Beautiful gardens, has hot tub & pool in good shape.

Review 30:A smaller hotel with a laid back, homey feel. Very helpful staff.

Review 31:Attractive Mediterranean style property. Great location. Good restaurant. Spacious room, excellent mattress.

Review 32:Need insulation strip around exterior door, because the crack lets some of the cool air escape

Review 33:Firm bed

Review 34:Hard sell for excursions at check-in

Review 35:Spacious studio General ambience Antonio's cocktails!

Review 36:This is a wonderful place so I keep coming back. With friends and with family. And I/we will come back again. Thanks!

Review 37:Perfect location in La Paz. Easy walk to everything. Short drive to the beach.

Review 38:the staff were very friendly and helpful, would go back in heart beat.

Review 39:Sweet deal for the price. Staff was great and everything was clean. A bit dated furnishings but consider it a historic experience. Stay here especially if you have a car--short trip to Ballandra or anywhere in La Paz!

Review 40:At the fat end of the Malecon, it's a bit of a hike into the central downtown. A small price to pay for great digs.

Review 41:The rooms, pool, and courtyard are amazing!

Review 42:we also stayed over night before we left. We stayed in a cramped dark room on the first floor and were charged the same rate.

Review 43:On our stay, at the beginning of our trip, we had a spacious room on the 2nd floor

Review 44:My rooms was very poorly lit. Could do with stronger main light in centre ceiling of room.

Review 45:Location just outside of centre, but still on comfortable walking distance.

Review 46:The map location for Club El Morro was wrong, both in booking.com and the top-level results of a Google search (they agreed with each other). This made us waste time looking for the hotel in a seedy part of La Paz.

Review 47:Hotel staff allowed us to park our car inside a gated area, so we didn't have to unload lots of luggage. Staff's English was excellent, and they were very patient with our mediocre Spanish.

Review 48:We enjoiyed it all...no downsides.

Review 49:The peace and tranquility of the grounds, the location at the sea coast, the friendliness of both staff and other visitors and the space with a kitchen to cook some of our meals.

Review 50:Lighting could have been better in the room.Shower would not work and the toilet leaked all over the floor.

Review 51:Loved the location, Within walking of all amenities.

Review 52:Wifi didn't work in the room like you said when we booked. The personnel was ok but they could have been nicer.

Review 53:The pool, the room was ok, the restaurant

Review 54:Unhelpful staff, no one on duty to print receipt when we left at 6:30 a.m. Only one drinking glass in room, took 45 minutes to get another one, no customer service.

Review 55:Nice setting

Review 56:Parking is skimpy, but tolerable.

Review 57:Nice, family friendly facility and location. The hotel is right along the waterfront in La Paz. The breakfast is excellent and with the included credit was quite affordable as well.

Review 58:At the checkin the frontman promised us a 20% discount because the 2twin bed room booked was not available and he gave us a different roomwith a queen bed, 1 single bed and a sofa bed. At the checkout theywanted us to pay for a superior suite, because the room was bigger....wedidn't want to pay and he called the police, Finally we paid theagreed rate, thanks to police help....

Review 59:We appreciated swimming pool and Antonio's Margaritas and thelocation which is just in front of the seaside, along the main street.

Review 60:We had a room for 4 people (2 adults and 2 kids). The offer said"free breakfast," but when we checked in, we were told that itwas just a 300 pesos credit to the restaurant (only for 3 people). Thefood at the restaurant is good but very expensive. 300 pesos is enoughfor 2 people. The eggs with chorizo are good.

Review 61:It was a clean basic hotel room. The grounds are very nice, lush, tropical and green. The pool was cold but some people were swimming. Thefront desk girl was very nice ( forgot her name). Overall, it was worththe money.

Review 62:Pool not heated, restaurant not open for dinner

Review 63:Fairly quiet location, safe parking, pool area

Review 64:Restaurant

Review 65:Location

Review 66:My room location. I felt like I was in a Cave.

Review 67:They close the main entrance at 11pm and sometimes they don't open the secondary door.

Review 68:Easy to find location

Review 69:Some rooms were a little dark. Asked to change and it was a little better. The more expensive rooms had more light I was told.

Review 70:The room was small, very dark and not very clean.

Review 71:Very nice pool, bar and grounds.

Review 72:The bed and bathroom very bad conditions

Review 73:Garden

Review 74:The surrounding and grounds are beautiful. Staff most friendly and accommodating.

Review 75:It was all very nice, good restaurant with a great setting

Review 76:The view was looking at un finished units.

Review 77:The rooms were big and comfortable

Review 78:Poor hot water in showers...

Review 79:Great location!!!
