Reviews for Gîte Atlas Mazik
Review 1:A rich breakfast and a delicious dinner. There are available extra warm blankets - at night protected from the cold. Hussein (the owner) is very helpful. His father Ibrahim is a mountain guide.
Review 2:Toilet and shower facilities could have been cleaner, but wouldn't say it was a big problem; just a suggestion for improvement.
Review 3:The family who run the place are very welcoming and very helpful. The breakfast and dinner was nice, and the tea was nice. There was good views of the mountains.
Review 4:the shower is in very poor condition (low pressure, sometime very cold or very hot, difficult to set a temperature in between). Our room was clean and very big, but my friends received a room which they found to be not cleaned, with no linens ( just one sheet) and dust uncleaned. We were lucky to find a helpful person in the village to give us instructions to get there(luckily we speak French), because the inatructions on the booking site are missing and it is not clear that one should search in the next village. The house is just next door to a mosque, so get prepared to cleary hear the morning call to prayer.
Review 5:The host is very friendly and makes you feel welcome in his home. It is very good that his wife is cooking, as there is no other facility nearby in case you feel to tired after mountineering to walk to Imlil for dinner( this house is in the next village, not too very far away, in a walking distance, probably 2 km). The view is lovely ( you can see the mountains) and the common area/ resting area is very pleasant ( you can enjoy the Morrocan tea there). Overall, a fair price paid for a safe and restful sleep and for such a rich breakfast as compared to average Morrocan breakfast.
Review 6:The hosts of this guesthouse were very friendly and accommodating. We enjoyed being a little out of town and up on the hill where we had good view over the valley. We had three very enjoyable meals at Gite Atlas made in the house. Such fresh produce!!
Review 7:The wi-fi was very slow, the owner at our hotel spoke very little English which wasn't a big problem but caused some confusion every now and then
Review 8:We stayed at Gite Tizik Mazik, which we initially thought was a scam but turned out to be the family's other hotel, so don't be alarmed if the same happens to you too! Staff were fantastic, always checking up on us and gave us some free tea when we arrived. The hotel is in the village Mazik, and so is a 15/20 minute walk to Imlil centre but compensated for it with an amazing view
Review 9:It's not that we had a bad experience, however, it is hard to find this place, especially when you get there at night. There is no direct access to that place form the street. However, if you have a car, the owner will help you with the luggage and there is nothing to worry about the car, which is parked a short stroll from the hostel on a secured car park.
Review 10:We felt like part of community as this hostel is situated within the village, you get to see the way people live :)
Review 11:Houssain and his family were the most heartfelt people and staying in a traditional Moroccan home was wonderful. The views were spectacular from the terrace where we ate our breakfast and lunch and the food delicious. We could not have been made to feel more welcome. We will definitely return for longer next time. Thankyou.
Review 12:The family were very welcoming bringing us tea and biscuits when we arrived high was lovely and there was a wonderful view from the roof terrace. There were plenty of blankets in the room. Very good value for money!
Review 13:only the cold of the mountains in the evenings. We'll bring more warm stuff next time.
Review 14:Beautiful little accomdation absolutely recommended. We enjoyed our stay a lot. Nice helpful family. Truly one of the most authentic places we have visited in Morocco. In the heart of a wonderful village with a everyday life of a mountain village. Warmly family. Thanks for a great stay. We'll come back. Awesome view from the balcony.
Review 15:Shared bathroom could have been nicer
Review 16:Very welcoming hosts, good food (order dinners as well as these are excellent), location in the middle of a Berber mountain village with only foot paths, excellent value, good base for mountain walks.
Review 17:I didn' t mind the fact that there wasn' t heat in the middle of winter. The problem was need of the staff to rip you off. First it was extremly expensive dinner and then renting crampons which broke after 10 minutes. Just go to other place and enjoy magnificent Toubkal.
Review 18:We thought the downstairs bathroom was nicer than the en_suite one we had upstairs. So go with the rooms down stairs ,so much nicer and the water is hot.
Review 19:The family were very hospitable and went out of their way to make us feel at home. They are excellent guides and very reasonably priced. Breakfast was very good too.
Review 20:...location. After long walk from Toublak it is too far from village. Cleanness, I think that bed needs sheets. It is bit awkward to sleep after someone had used same bed. We found rubberband in bed :-)
Review 21:Very authentic place. Very kind staff. We loved location and atmosphere... but other hand location...
Review 22:The hospitality of the owners was so humbling. Fantastic experience. Food was great and the Berber mint tea was perfect. The views from the window and roof terrace were amazing. We stayed 3 nights in between our ascent of mount toubkal and the owners made our stay so comfortable that we were very sad leaving. Highlight of the trip was staying here. Will never forget this place. Thank you
Review 23:other guests making noise late at night.
Review 24:quiet area, lovely views, very nice owners, nice that it's away from the main villages.
Review 25:Food is great, very welcoming family and overall a very pleasing experience. Would do it again anytime.
Review 26:Bed hard as a rock No lockers Facilities very limited and not a lot to do
Review 27:Breakfast was good
Review 28:Very nice and helpful family. Delicious food, huges plates.
Review 29:Staff isn't always here
Review 30:The little attentions and the good food
Review 31:No wifi
Review 32:Helen was very helpful and friendly Room and beds are quite comfortable 200 meters from tsar very beautiful sunset
Review 33:No real sheets
Review 34:The owners are really friendly The view The location The food
Review 35:- no heating in the room and it was very cold that night we stayed
Review 36:- very nice and helpful satff - good value for money
Review 37:Weird bathroom
Review 38:Localization is great especially to start trip to Jebel Toubkal, wonderfull view from terrace, really tasty tajins, helpful staff
Review 39:What's not to like :)
Review 40:The location was great for our trip which was to climb Toubkal. Family we stayed with couldn't do enough for us. The experience staying in this village will be irreplaceable and will stay with us forever. Loved it
Review 41:The hostel is under reconstruction/maybe/, so the problem was that they start work on it at night, It was a little bit unpleasant.
Review 42:Very nice view from the terrace, really good food and service...and the mint tea bring you out of this world.
Review 43:We felt very good! The owners are so friendly! And the view, I think is the best place to have an awesome view of Atlas Mountains! We'd love to come back again!
Review 44:Very friendly staff, they are great people! Although it is a bit far from town, this is compensated with exceptional views of the town and the valley. Splendid economical option.
Review 45:I loved the geographical situation of the hostel, perfect to start up towards Toubkal. Secondely the price was more than fair. The cuisine! Our host wife's cooking was perfect. I loved her tadjine andit was difficult to find any other like this later on! The hospitality from the hostel was splendid, they took care of us, even making sure we had bread for our climbing! I will never forget the stay. This was exactly what we were looking for: good prize and traditional flavor of Marroco.
Review 46:Ibrahim, Housein and their family were wonderfully welcoming and friendly. Accommodation was very clean and neat. We loved the local food they prepared for us. The location has stunning views.
Review 47:Hot water wasn't always available for showers.
Review 48:Friendly staff, a nice peaceful location away from the not-very-nice centre of Imlil. Good dinners, acceptable breakfast, with mint tea available at any time.
Review 49:We loved staying with Ibrahim and his family in the guest house. Theaccomodations are simple, of course, but more than adequate. If starswere awarded based on how warm and welcoming the staff is, then the GiteAtlas Mazik would get five stars. Beautiful location. The views from theroof are amazing. Ibrahim's son led us up to the start of a hike andsent us on our way. Great food prepared by the family. I can't sayenough how much we enjoyed staying here. The fussy, luxury travelermight not like it, but for anyone who wants to really experience thepeople and life in the Imlil Valley, I give the Gite Atlas Mazik myhighest reccomendations. Thank you so much Ibrahim and Housein!
Review 50:Nothing, maybe having to leave at the end of our stay! Be aware that you won't be in Imlil, you are in a small village nearby (Mazik). There isn't much to see in Imlil anyway, so this isn't really a negative.
Review 51:Ibrahim, the owner, is a wonderful host and really makes you feel at home. His son Hassan, a relaxed and reserved 21-year-old, took us on two full-day hikes in the area - an outstanding experience. The food is nice and the portions are enormous. Breakfasts are outstanding, especially when served on their rooftop terrace. The Wi-Fi works fine, which is impressive considering the location. They truly made us feel like we were staying with a family. Don't expect luxury or frills: bring your own towels, shower shoes, soap, toilet paper, and maybe even a sleep sheet. However, this is somewhat standard for Imlil and the surrounding area, so if you don't mind roughing it just a bit, this place will give you a one-of-a-kind experience and is like staying with a Berber family. Lots of tea and they even let me into their home (attached to the gite) to watch the Champions League matches with their sons and uncles. Amazing place, wonderful people - I would recommend this place to anyone who is willing to make a small sacrifice of the luxuries of home just for a few days in exchange for a truly unique experience. We hope to return someday!!!
Review 52:Super friendly Great view Very authentic experience (it is outside ofthe tourist area, surrounded by local houses) Very good service (we werepicked up by the owner and his mule that carried our baggage :-) ) Goodtrekking information
Review 53:The immersion in the reality of this rural-semitourististic place. It is important to support intelligent and istruated persons like Hussein and his father, who have to resolve a lot of problems....................
Review 54:Great service by local owner. Great view from window. Not expensive food. Best service in our whole Morocco trip
