Reviews for Riad Atlas Toubkal

Review 1:It was extremely cold in the room at night (we were there in January). This is, presumably, not a problem for most of the year (the place is air conditioned), but a little extra warmth via a space heater or something would have been a good addition. The breakfast was just ok. Other places in town were cheaper, but this place came highly recommended, but I would probably look into other places were I to return, as I'm not sure the extra 10€ a night were worth it to stay at this place.

Review 2:The people working there were really helpful, and pointed us in a nice direction for a day hike, which worked out just great. The dinner (90 dirham, 3 courses) was very good value, and we're glad we did that. In general, the service was excellent.

Review 3:Room cold, had to have heater on all night. Bit of a trek from car park, not clearly sign posted.

Review 4:The staff were lovely. Food great value for money. Views amazing. Room very basic but great for one night stopover.

Review 5:I went to climb the Toubkal and they offered to store my luggage for free. Also I was offered a hot shower ("take your time as long as you want") and a bed to rest after I came back. Very nice and friendly staff.

Review 6:True Maroccan. Perfect stay before hiking Jebel Toubkal. The Riad arranges all you need for a hike to Toubkal. Very friendly staff. The teenagers also loved it.

Review 7:There were some little things that could easily make the stay more comfortable. Unlike every other place we stayed were offered no tea on arrival. Soap and bathroom needs a little attention. Wifi was down the whole time we were there. However, in terms of value for money, these are SMALL issues. It's amazing what these people offer considering the location.

Review 8:Very beautiful setting, and the staff did their best to help and serve us. Breakfast was easily comparable to others we had in Morocco at more expensive hotels. Beds were comfy and clean.

Review 9:Parking was on the street and access was via quite a long dirt track which is narrow, uneven and mostly unlit. Not a big problem for us as we are youngish, fit and had torches but may present issues for those less able. wifi was patchy.

Review 10:Location and mountain views were good. breakfast was good and the accommodations was complete and well maintained (unfinished building and maintenance work is common at accommodations in morocco). Plenty of space for our family of 5, including large communal areas and great roof terrace. Imlil was not a tranquil location, plenty of hustle and bustle.

Review 11:Everything was great.

Review 12:The staff at Riad Atlas Toubkal was incredible. Abraham made my friends and I feel at home for the night and helped us finalize the details of our trek to Toubkal. The room was cozy and very, very clean, the food delicious (we even had dinner at the riad), and the hospitality outstanding.

Review 13:All of the staff at the hotel were extremely helpful and welcoming. The room was clean and tidy. Breakfast was delicious. They held our bags while we went overnight to climb mt toubkal then allowed us to use the room when we returned.

Review 14:Staff were really friendly. We had a nice room with amazing view from our own balcony. The view of the mountains from the roof terrace is excellent. The dining room also looks out on Imlil, surrounding villages and the Atlas mountains. Would definitely stay there again.

Review 15:Slight problem with the hot water in some of the rooms.

Review 16:The staff were very friendly and helpful. Rooms were well laid out and comfortable. Meals were delicious. The trekking guide they organised for us was really good.

Review 17:Difficult to find at first (although they did send a staff member down to our car to walk us to the property). Thought the price for an airport transfer was a little steep (400 MAD), compared to simply booking a taxi one's self.

Review 18:Overall a great stay-- the staff was incredibly helpful and accommodating when we needed to modify our original reputation. Great dinner with a fantastic view. Exceptional value for the price we paid

Review 19:We didn't mind all the steps you had to walk up to reach this riad but did mind having to walk behind a cow shed (complete with cow pats galore)...not nice. Breakfast was also quite disappointing. Granted it might have been better if we'd got up slightly earlier but it was very basic and the worst we had during our trip.

Review 20:By far the best thing about this riad is the views of the mountains and surroundings – from our balcony, the roof terrace and breakfast room. Absolutely stunning. Our room was lovely and comfortable with an ensuite and it was great to have tea and coffee making facilities in the room.

Review 21:Second visit in Imlil within 3 month, same choice for the hotel without doubt, second time didn't lie. Recommend. Great terrace view, central location. Must do: ask for the dinner.

Review 22:Walk up to riad is dodgy, have to go through a sister riad first, then up some steep concrete steps. daunting for some I would imagine. There is a less difficult way up (and down), but riad should really do something about access. this is my only criticism though.

Review 23:Love the view from the terrace in the morning. Just wonderful, and one of the best locations in Imlil. Staff very friendly and helpful. Apartment we had with 2 bedrooms and a sitting room has own entrance, and really lovely. Has heating/AC (was -4 at night in april, so it was needed!). Breakfast was good. Hope to return.

Review 24:Dinner was a bit expensive and the common area quite old in the morning as no one made a fire in Abraham`s absence.

Review 25:The room was large and comfortable with much needed heating for the cold night's. Abraham was very helpful. Sorry we couldn't use the terrace but the view from our room was excellent!

Review 26:The Riad is set back from the road and up about 40 steep steps and dark at night, so not recommended for elderly or young children

Review 27:The staff were helpful on arrival and during the stay (but not so helpful when we curtailed our stay to one night due to appalling weather). It would be a good stop off or end to a trekking outing

Review 28:Wifi intermittent. Tricky to find as have to go through another guest house first. Lots of steps but staff helped with luggage

Review 29:The corner bath was a luxury! Good breakfast and 3 course set meal for €10 was better than the cafes in Imlil village. Friendly car park attendant looked after our motorbike at 20dh per day

Review 30:We didn't mind, but the Riad is isolated at the top of a hill with poor access, especially at night in the dark. It's a steep clamber up and not recommended for anyone with knee or hip problems.

Review 31:Very friendly staff, cheap and cheerful place in the mountains. We had a great room with a balcony and nice bathroom. Very comfortable bed and very good value for money.

Review 32:The staff are very laid back (as with many places here) so things can take a little longer than usual. I would also say the rooms need a little TLC - there was slight mould in the bathroom but nothing major.

Review 33:Amazing location - room was a good size and clean.

Review 34:Quite difficult to find one's way back along unlit paths/steps in the dark at night.

Review 35:The roof terrace and views, the bedroom, the central dining area and the friendly, helpful staff.

Review 36:If you're very unfit or extremely elderly, you might find the climb in thinnish air a bit of a struggle!

Review 37:We liked the comfort, position, helpful staff and great food.

Review 38:We arranged a transfer with Riad Atlas to collect from the riad but had to wait nearly three hours as it appeared this has not been arranged, cost me a fortune in mobile phone calls and hassle, excuse that the internet was not working was pretty lame

Review 39:Excellent location

Review 40:We enjoyed everything - the room, shower, spectacular view, balcony etc. However, the most important thing that made our stay there unforgettable was the staff!!! Such a nice and helpful people. I recommend Riad Atlas Toubkal to everybody who visit the beautiful Imlil!

Review 41:None.

Review 42:Probably best breakfast for the lowest price paid for night during 9 trip to Morocco. Great location (some mentioned - stairs: yes. But it wasn't a problem at all for semi sporty man). Great views from room or top terrace. Good idea to order dinner.

Review 43:- we didn't get the room we've expected. There was no balcony and double bed, was two beds connected to each other (instead of one). - it was very cold - there was no hot water at the beginig.

Review 44:- good wifi connection

Review 45:To short stay!

Review 46:Very nice hotel, excellent , friendly and helpful staff. Clean room with big bed, delicious dinner. We took a 4-hours walk with a local guide, Abdul. It was an easy walk, Abdul explained us a lot about local life, local customs. We visited a Berber house, had a mint tea, with phantastic olives, olive oil and bread

Review 47:Tricky to find - up several flights of steep steps and through another Riad which is confusing. Not for the elderly or infirm! Parking - beware the Gardien of the parking who will charge you a high charge per night to park on a gravel patch

Review 48:Helpful staff Good log fire when inclement weather Excellent breakfast Balcony

Review 49:Family room was a bit too small for family of 4 with luggage.

Review 50:Great views from the terrace. Nice breakfast. Staff were extremely helpful when we needed emergency help due to a fall. Thank you.

Review 51:Not easy to find, no signs, you have to go through Dar Imlil to find this riad. Pretty cold in the night even with second cover.

Review 52:Price, many tea bags in the room :) Good hot water and good breakfast.

Review 53:- they didn't react on the e-mails we send prior to our stay - the many steps didn't boughter us because you are in the mauntains BUT if you want less or no steps. You have to choose another way. Follow the road (after the bridge) another 600 m and then turn right ( you have to ask because there is no sign).

Review 54:- we booked the appartment. It was huge! We could have stayed there with 6 people - the atmosfere was great, also in the 'restaurant' - the view!! - they carry your bags - great food, for a very good price

Review 55:all perfect despite the illness. Beautiful spot!

Review 56:I think the location of the Riad is very good and it has a nice big roof terrace. The staff very welcoming and very helpful when my son fell ill with a stomach bug. We are a family of 5 with 3 teenagers and stayed in the apartment which was just fantastic with your own little sitting room, quiet and easy access to the road. They ask you every day if you want to have dinner there which we did both times as the food was very good and very relaxing evenings.

Review 57:It was a bit hard to find and the path up to the riad was quite steep.

Review 58:It was clean, staff were friendly. Lovely to have a kettle, coffee and tea bags in the room. The views were great and there were plenty of places to sit and relax. The food was also great.

Review 59:Leaving the riad to head back to Marrakech

Review 60:With great staff, ample good quality food and comfortable rooms I really can't praise this riad enough. We were made to feel welcome from the moment we arrived and enjoyed our stay so much that we returned a few days later after our ascent of Mt Toubkal. The staff were better than any I have met at the distinguished chains such as Hilton and Sofitel and really cannot be faulted in any way.

Review 61:The hotel is set in an amazing location up in the mountains. The room we had was very cosy. We had free tea and coffee in our room, and even a djellaba and slippers for you to wear. The staff were super friendly and helpful and the food was delicious and plentiful. It was great value for money and a delightful place to stay.

Review 62:Wonderful riad in Imlil a lovely little Berber village. Fantastic drive to get there. Huge rooms and very helpful staff. Fantastic outlook and great for hiking or just relaxing on the terrace with mint tea. Amazing value for money, we stayed in the family room.

Review 63:To get the luggage up to the hotel you have to cross a long dirt road with a creek!

Review 64:Great cook Location is high overlooking the town Helpful staff & friendly Rooms are clean, spacious and still traditional

Review 65:Lot of steps to get up, hence the great view!! No lights a night trying to get back up to the hotel. Had to try use my phone as a light. Almost fell a few times

Review 66:Lovely staff. Went out of their way to make us feel comfortable and at home. Beautiful roof terrace with stunning view. Breakfast had a great choice. Bring alcohol if you want it as nowhere in Imlil serves it.

Review 67:To reach the riad is a bit rough. You have to "climb" some paths and stairs in order to reacht the riad. Thankfully someone helped us with our lugguage. The riad is a bit noisy. A lot of door slamming.

Review 68:The food was very good and reasonably priced. Guided treks around Imlil Valley. Room with balcony and a nice view. The rooftop has an amazing view of the Imlil Valley.

Review 69:nothing - it was really great !

Review 70:The Riad has a great location and easy to find. The Riad is very nice, we had a room with amazing mountain view (double room with balcony and bathroom). The rooftop of the Riad was wonderful and offered beautiful views all around the mountains. The Riad is simple but you still have everything what you need. The staff was friendly and warm. The Riad offered us much more than we would expected in the mountains.

Review 71:*we were actually upgraded to Riad Imlil as they were cleaning the carpets at Atlas Toubkal but both Riads are co-owned and therefore the state of one should be predictive of the other* Friendly, professional staff serve the Riad that boasts the only pool in Imlil (beautifully cold!) we had a great time in this gem of a mountain town.

Review 72:A bit of a climb up lots of steps to get there but they did help us with bags both on arriving and leaving so don't let this put you off. I would book there again if in area.

Review 73:Booked this place as a base to trek up Toubkal as Imlil is the main starting point for this. Guide and Mule arranged through Hotel as didn't want the hassle of haggling and was more that happy with both price and our guide. He took us all the way first to the shelter with his trusty mule taking most of the gear and then on to the summit the next day, think we would have got lost without the guide so well worth the small fee. Amazing experience and comfy room to come back to after with a private balcony. They brought us a meal to our room on the first night as arrived late and served a good breakfast in the morning. Recommend if need a room in Imlil.

Review 74:Constant miscommunication between owner of hotel (off sight & unavailable) & manager. Charged two nights for room never used, although manager said we would not be charge. Reservation for two bedroom apartment was less then ideal because we had to leave front door unlocked due to a worker need to access mechanical room-so we only had use of secure bedrooms, with no discount for inconvenience. All around a poor service experience.

Review 75:Setting for hotel was lovely. We will return to Imlil, but not this hotel.

Review 76:Quite a hike uphill, but sure somebody will help with the baggage.

Review 77:Good rooms, nice bathrooms and very helpful personel. Would really recommend it.

Review 78:The Riad was beautiful and the owner was friendly and helpful.

Review 79:A bit damp in the room initially but got better.

Review 80:Very nice and helpful staff, provided us with great tips on hiking tracks and a nice packed lunch.

Review 81:depending on the season it can be very cold inside the Riad.

Review 82:Very friendly staff, very good location and very nice food.

Review 83:The Hotel is amazing.Everything was so good .Thank you very much Ibrahim

Review 84:Great Riad. Nice ambiance. Very helpful staff who arranged a wonderful climb of Mt Toubkal. Food for evening meal fantastic.

Review 85:Very nice stuff, good service and good meal (have ordered also dinner). Best place to prepare your selves for visit Toubkal.

Review 86:Access to the hotel + no parking

Review 87:Staff very nice , convenience closer to the stores , view

Review 88:The staff were lovely - incredibly helpful and kind. We we upgraded to a room with a terrace and a fantastic view down the valley

Review 89:Staff, location, view, rooms...

Review 90:Breakfast was late on day of departure

Review 91:Friendly staff, beautifull spot with roofterrace

Review 92:The hospitality of the staff and the silence at night.

Review 93:Fabulous two bed apartment with spectacular views

Review 94:The staff were so helpful and really made our stay the best it could be. Breakfast was amazing and location could not have been any better

Review 95:Beautifully decorated en-suite room with balcony. Stunning views. Sun-roof. Generous breakfast. Friendly and helpful staff.

Review 96:All good. If you can't hamdle a few stairs you xame to the wrong part of Morocco.

Review 97:Fantastic helpfull staff

Review 98:Fabulous rooms Great staff

Review 99:Nothing

Review 100:Location and staff

Review 101:Location and views are unbelievable, extremely helpful staff and great breakfast.

Review 102:nothing

Review 103:everything we liked :) it was remarkable.location, staff, comfort, decoration ...everything was just wow :)

Review 104:hard beds

Review 105:location, rooms, staff

Review 106:Everything was more than perfect.. The best view in the village.

Review 107:Everything

Review 108:Very nice location. Very good walk with a nice guide.

Review 109:Slightly long staircase but the hotel staff takes your luggage.

Review 110:Right in the center Hospitable staff Nice food A great value for a basic place

Review 111:nice room, delicoíous food good place for the night when you to start hiking from Imlil

Review 112:I very much enjoyed walking up and down the stairs accessing this guest house, with a beautiful rooftop view of the surrounding peaks.

Review 113:Staff not so proficient in English, but tried his best to help

Review 114:Beautiful scenery of the mountains Beautiful decoration in the riad Budget friendly

Review 115:Breakfast was very good and the rooftop terrace view was outstanding

Review 116:Need to factor in at least 90 minutes for the journey between Imlil and Marrakech

Review 117:Great rooms, we had a lovely balcony. Fantastic extra bonus - use of their sister riad's private outdoor pool which was very tranquil. Great sunset on the roof terrace, way better value and food than the Kasbah

Review 118:All good. Some things could use a little bit more love whilst the cleaning, but the hygine is still clearly above the regional standart.

Review 119:Nice staff. Offered us a shower in a free room after the day in the atlas, before going to marrakech. Organised a driver for a good price (I said, that I was willing to pay 400 MDH, slightly sick of hagueling, and that was a 5-minutes job for them) to bring us to marrakech. Breakfast was in our case rather furgal, but that was due to us leaving for the mountains at 03.00 a.m.. The Bathrooms are spacious and the kitchen offers variety, unexpected in the moutains. This is a very good riad for sporty people in need of a stay in the mountains!

Review 120:We had to get up really early to leave for the desert and didn't get breakfast.

Review 121:Truly incredible location! A bit of a hike but well worth it for the incredible views. There is no where we would have rather stayed in the Imlil Valley. Dining room with large windows overlooking the villages and mountains offers an amazing dining experience. Our room was nicely decorated and clean with a private balcony, and we also enjoyed the roof terrace. The staff were very kind and helpful.

Review 122:The staff were wonderful and made us feel very welcome and at home. To be greeted by mint tea at the end of a 12 hour trek was the perfect end to a big day
