Reviews for Eco Village Mission Beach
Review 1:Perfect location with all you needed dining on location or self contained unit. Large pool surrounded by the units. Plenty of walks to do or stones throw to other activities. The staff were very helpful with genuine interest in your comfort and needs. We had young children and there was no problem finding things to occupy them plus keeping the adults satisfied also.
Review 2:Being bungalow configuration access to our room was a bit convoluted.
Review 3:Location. Restaurant was basic but with good food menu but with a limited wine list. They gave good referrals for breakfast dining. Clean rooms.
Review 4:Wifi was not very good, and unfortunately the restaurant was closed at our time of stay which was a shame. Maybe next time we will get to try it. :)
Review 5:Absolutely loved this place, gorgeous villas, amazing large pool, not crowded, beach right there at your doorstep. Just beautiful! Will definitely go back!
Review 6:Air con didn't work, bed very uncomfortable, didn't sleep all night, had to scrub dishers clean before we could use them.had to wait over 30min in reception calling out for someone to come while I had 2 hungry baby's in car. Big paper wasp nest hung over balcony and doorway. No one got stung.Pool needed to be cleaned badly,We packed up and left at 10pm on the second night.
Review 7:everything, the unit was so spacious and clean, with friendly staff and it is so close to the beach. We had just come for a holiday from out west where is is drought and it was so good to see the lush bush and palms growing near our unit we had a beautiful spa in our room and a beautiful pond out side of our room, it was so relaxing.
Review 8:The wifi did not reach/was not available in my room. I could have had access by going to the dining room or by sitting outside the Reception Office. I prefer to have the convenience of wifi in my room when I want/need it.
Review 9:The room was spacious, cool, private and very clean and comfortable. The decor and garden surrounds were most attractive. The situation was quiet and very peaceful. The village is situated on the waterfront and close to all amenities.
Review 10:restaurant need to swept the floor before dinner time
Review 11:was the best place we have stay in a long time, very clean the room was huge we had the delux with the spa meal were great, the room was only 20 mtrs from the beach and the beach was awsome, best beach i have been too.
Review 12:Because the resort wasn't close to the shops it was a bit of a problem accessing quick snacks and drinks. Of course we could have bought our own food with us however interstate people do not have those supplies with them when only staying for a few days. So a small shop at the resort would be good. As is often the case with most places were we have stayed, the plug holes in the bathroom should be more regularly cleared so that the water flows out quicker, a minor annoyance. There wasn't much information in the cabin about what was available at the restaurant, eg. breakfast and therefore we didn't try breakfast if it was available. Perhaps we should have investigated that more however we walked to the shops for coffee and breakfast.
Review 13:We enjoyed the pool and being close to the sea.
Review 14:We had to leave too early to appreciate the sunrise ... and the beach!
Review 15:I/we loved that the rooms were located in and amongst the trees ... giving you the feeling that it was all very small and intimate. The staff were incredibly friendly and accommodating. The Village was close enough to be within walking distance or a short drive to amenities ... but it's far enough away to be peaceful.
Review 16:Not bad but disappointing. Restaurant is closed on Sundays and Mondays; there is no breakfast or lunch available so it means take your own or go into Mission Beach. Food there quite good but one would need a car (we had one). Also there were broken fittings in our bathroom which should have been fixed and even though we raised it immediately nothing was done during our 3 nights there. No microwave in room means eating out.
Review 17:Very good food in restaurant on Saturday night; friendly staff. We were there Saturday to Tuesday. It is certainly quiet and very close to beach.
Review 18:The layout and surrounds of the bungalows put you in the middle of the tropical getaway ideal. A visual treat with all of the comfort required. The view and little walk down to the beach was the icing on the cake. Great location! Friendly staff
Review 19:The bathroom tiles were slippery after showering - due to the open plan bathroom design. It would have been better value had we booked directly with the resort.
Review 20:The gardens and pool were stunning and presented beautifully. The units were tastefully decorated. The bed was really comfortable!
Review 21:Shower wouldn't stop leaking - had to call the staff member out, but nothing he could do in the middle of the night!
Review 22:Nice area with a private little access to the beach
Review 23:A long way from major shopping centre, Woolworths & bus depot. Arrived by bus and place seemed deserted, rung for a taxi from a sign in the window. Bus drops you at the back of the Supermarket so didn't realise it was even a shopping area. Also the restaurant was closed the whole time we were there due to illness so had to go into town for meals.
Review 24:Loved being set amongst the trees and was quite private. Grounds kept very tidy and a short 2 minute walk to the beach. Love to stay again.
Review 25:Really friendly staff (at desk and at restaurant). Lovely place with great facilities and privacy for each room. Lovely gardens.Right on the beach and right next to a nice walking track.
Review 26:Wifi was a little hit and miss but considering its location, understandable
Review 27:Lovely location with access to 2 beaches to explore. Family bungalow had lots of room for ourselves and our kids. Manager was very friendly. Room clean and had all the facilities. Would love to extend our stay next time
Review 28:The quite laid back atmosphere the closeness to the beach the brilliant Restaurant...the many other Restaurants along the village strip great atmosphere
Review 29:The manager on duty was different this time to my last visit. lsat visit, Dan was super friendly and helpful. The new lady wasnt helpful or friendly at all.
Review 30:Lovely location, rooms were clean. On a business trip some weeks ago I stayed in a deluxe suite with a spa. The self contained suites are a bit older and a bit "tired".
Review 31:The staff were lovely. Our bed was so comfortable and the spa was great!! Was pleasantly surprised how nice the food was at the restaurant. Location is great, our room was a short stroll to the beach (3mins) We wish we got to stay there longer
Review 32:Room wasn't ready till after 2:30. Staff have poor customer service skills. Rooms and facilities tired. Not worth the price paid.
Review 33:The food in the restaurant was really nice.
Review 34:Rooms are very dark but we love the foliage, can't have it all! Cooking facilities are minimal.
Review 35:Seclusion and the environment. Dining area is beautiful particularly at sunset. Food was excellent.
Review 36:The customer service was pretty poor, rude & unhelpful (we were accused of not having paid when we had) No info in rooms and just mesh window covers between rooms that are about 1 metre apart.
Review 37:The location leafy grounds and pool were fantastic.
Review 38:The house itself is rather dark with poor lighting. Also it is one big room, so if you travel with kids it means that you have one big family rooms instead of multiple, separated rooms
Review 39:Location is perfect - close to the beach, in the middle of the nature. All accomodations are located around the beautifull pool
Review 40:Not being able to take lovely Miss Bossy home with us, we will miss that super friendly dog.
Review 41:What a great place to stay. Lovely bungalow with everything you need, quiet surrounds and super friendly staff. Loved our 3 nights here in pristine Mission Beach.
Review 42:Staff were pleasant and friendly, but everything seemed minimal service and facilities. Floor had not been cleaned when we arrived and toilet paper not replenished. Under the bed, obviously had not been cleaned for a long time and had other people's rubbish underneath. There was no print out of our final bill. When we queried it, it was simply read back to us. The only meals available were dinner, which was however an excellent service. Individually these things are minor, but overall create an impression of minimal service and not value for money. The potential of this excellent site is very underused. We also query the use of Eco Village. There was really no evidence of anything environmentally friendly other than the gardens and landscaping.
Review 43:Location - quiet and close to two beaches, walks etc. Excellent landscaping and Pool. Food was excellent, but only open for dinner.
Review 44:lack of airflow through unit meant the room was damp. The bed and pillows smelt damp on 2nd night.
Review 45:the setting; right on the beach - beautiful. The restaurant was 1st class!
Review 46:We were expecting to use a public spa after reading the hotels web page, We could not find one.
Review 47:The walk fro our room into town along beach was stunning and peaceful. The private sitting areas and gardens are awesome . We enjoyed the use of the public BBQ and helpful kitchen staff. The Sunday markets were busy with great food and located along the Ulysses walk trail on the way into town
Review 48:The wifi was erratic and did not always work The resort is very close to the road, so there was a lot of traffic noise, which I did not expect
Review 49:great setting, comfy beds The resident dog is very cute
Review 50:Nothing!
Review 51:Very comfortable accommodation right next to the beach. The family bungalow was big enough for the four of us and very clean. Excellent value for money!
Review 52:Wifi password was not offered on check in, had to chase it up, and coverage was not reliable. I was surprised that the deluxe room was not serviced for the price. Otherwise a great place.
Review 53:Excellent location, very quiet and relaxing environment, but easy walk to main part of Mission Beach. The bed was very comfy, and room very clean on arrival. Staff were friendly but scarce.
Review 54:Lack of towel rails and soap holder in bathroom. Could do with a sharp knife in kitchen.
Review 55:Resident dog. Serenity, location, staff, isolation, peace and a lovely walk into town or along the beach. Beautiful area.
Review 56:wifi wasn't accessible from our bungalow, hot water in the shower was a bit fiddly
Review 57:Fantastic location right on the beach, beautiful grounds, helpful staff, restaurant was very good, bungalow was spacious, bunk beds for three kids
Review 58:The bunk beds were a bit small for our teenage girls. The girls said the mattresses were thin & uncomfortable. It was a bit hard to read with no lights near the chairs. A bit hard for 4 people to sit comfortably & read/watch tv
Review 59:The gardens and location to the beach are excellent. The butterflies in the surrounds are lovely- the most we saw in Mission Beach. The manager was very friendly and helpful. Pool area is nice... just right for that number of guests.
Review 60:The tiles are extremely slippery when wet. I fell over on getting out of the spa bath and almost fell the next morning in the shower . We had a nice meal in the restaurant but was unable to enjoy a glass of savignon blanc as it was not available.
Review 61:We loved our room, the stream out the front and general ambience.
Review 62:Can't walk to town, need a car to get around but that is the price you pay for the nice and spacious layout of the resort.
Review 63:Really nice boutique resort with seperate bungalows, lots of privacy and space.
Review 64:Minor things - quite minimalistic kitchen inclusions, like only 2 items of all crockery/cutlery so constantly washing up _ didn't seem very "eco" aware to need to unnecessarily use so much water. When I asked for another plate it appeared to come as a surprise. A bit more liberal with toilet paper might be another small area the management should look at. We waited 3 hours - not best practise. These are minor things but need to be addressed.
Review 65:Location and beautiful gardens. Cabins not too close to each other. Lovely spacious pool area.
Review 66:The room was large but quite spartan and the lighting too dim and overall decor was dull. The wifi was not very consistent. The booking description said there would be a sofa but only had 2 upright cane chairs which is not the same thing . The TV was mounted too high up on the wall.
Review 67:The bed was very comfortable and the bungalows are located in very attractive lush landscaped gardens surrounding a lagoon pool with bush all around the resort and right near a beach. The manager was helpful and friendly. I managed to see a cassowary walk right down the paths between the bungalows.
Review 68:I liked the rainforest setting with the beach right on your door step. Our room was very comfortable and clean. We also enjoyed our meal in the long house restaurant, it was delicious. Staff were very friendly and helpful.
Review 69:The surprise of a notice above the sink stating $30 for dishes cleanup. We used 2 cups and 2 teaspoons. I would like to be paid $30 for 5 minutes work!
Review 70:Quiet and clean.
Review 71:Having to leave.
Review 72:Got delayed getting there but Eco Village staff were wonderful and helped us out with checking in late. Excellent dinner in the Long House Restaurant on Saturday night, my 12 year old even took time to thank the chef. Offered us a late checkout on the Sunday as it was Mothers Day, this was really appreciated.
Review 73:nothing really. I didnt care that we didnt have wifi in the room. it would have seemed a contradiction to the relaxing vibe!
Review 74:I liked everything about this hotel. The staff, esp Daniel, was very helpful, lending us all manner of things we needed to make our stay. My Absolute Fav though was the magnificent tropical grounds. The pool was a natural style, and tropical gardens covered the hotel site.
Review 75:Great spot for a family holiday with its comfortable, well equipped poolside bungalows, beautiful gardens and walking tracks to the gorgeous rocky and sandy beaches
Review 76:Location was brilliant. The facilities were excellent with the pool and beach handy. Close enough to Mission Beach downtown but far enough to feel that you are in your own oasis
Review 77:The Heat, as we came from NSW we felt the heat.
Review 78:The easy access to Unit, the Tropical setting and the quietness and privacy, easy access to beach, we were staying with our son and his family and they enjoyed the stay
Review 79:Room very dark in daytime and inadequate lighting to read (except in bed). Very minimal kitchen equipment. Would have liked larger glasses, a small cutting knife and a coffee plunger. No wifi in my room. Sitting outside the office in the dark to get wifi was not ideal and Vodaphone doesn't work there so communications were difficult.
Review 80:Lovely gardens, pretty swimming pool surrounded by tropical plants and butterflies, and good locations for walks.
Review 81:No bad experiences, I enjoyed the stay immensely.
Review 82:I liked the location, right on the beach. The resort is set in beautiful tropical gardens and well maintained. The on site restaurant caters for all tastes and the two members of staff were friendly and professional. The chef prepared meals that were better than those I've eaten in 5 star restaurants all over the world. He has a passion for food. The manager is also very friendly and willing to help us with any queries we had. I will definitely be back next time I'm in Mission Beach.
Review 83:We did not understand why the bungalow was not cleaned during our stay of several nights. No additional small soaps and shampoos during our stay Wifi does not work in the bungalow but only near the lobby and the swimming pool. The restaurant of the hotel was closed Due to the stingers, it was not possible to swim near the hotel but we had to go away one mile.
Review 84:The swimming pool is very nice.
Review 85:Owner was very intimidating and abrupt with me. Manager when taking us to our room was aware of replacing entry lighting and it never was fixed the 2 nights I was there. Wifi was only available within a 10 metre radius around the office. Room booked was for 2 king singles. Web site states mini bar in deluxe rooms - but I was told I was not entitled to that privilege because I did not book direct and prefer to book through booking.com. No tea, coffee or sugar available in rooms. No spa bath or bath. No shelf to place shampoo, cond. in shower. No proper hooks for towels in bathrooms for towels.
Review 86:The garden and outlook was nice. Pool was very nice and perfect in temperature. Daily towels and soap replacement.
Review 87:We couldnt get any wifi as i presume this was because our room was the furtherest from reception. As the resort is situated in north mission you have to drive to get to cafes restaurants etc but no biggie.
Review 88:The privacy of the bungalows with the beautiful tropical gardens was a big plus. Front desk staff were friendly and helpful. The snall feature pool at the front of our room was great for cooling off. The beach out front of resort is breathtaking!
Review 89:You need a car to go in town for a drink or refill the fridge (basic grocery store). But that's somehow always the case in Australia...
Review 90:The bungalow was clear, clean and well designed. The kitchen was well equipped, perfect for cooking a comforting meal after a day's driving. It was perfect for the two of us but even if the bungalow can accommodate three kids in the bunk beds, well, it might be a bit cosy then... As you can't really swim in the sea (superb beach by the way), the swimming pool offers a perfect refreshing dip...
Review 91:The hot water pessure was non existant and needs an overview by management, no matter how good things are customers normally like a good hot shower after water activities Though it had a large showerhead that promised great things the water just trickled out, a little disappointing BUT not a show stopper for the overall residence , just needs addressing at some point , as more finicky clients than me will complain!!
Review 92:The location, the surroundins, the facilities
Review 93:Given the resort was full it still retained a very individual feeling. Not noisey or obtrusive.. Most enjoyable stay. Very clean and tidy.. We will be going back.
Review 94:The location, nice and peaceful with a short walk to the beach. Layout of the units and the way they are set out in the grounds with lots of privacy. Bungalows are great with plenty of space and loved the high ceilings.
Review 95:BIG SPIDERS in the trees. A few ants in the room also.
Review 96:Eco Village sits right at the top end of mission beach with its own little access path down to both this and another little cove. A truly stunning place to visit. The staff were very friendly as well.
Review 97:Nothing
Review 98:The beautiful gardens made you feel close to nature. The bungalows are extremely comfortable with air conditioning & 2 great ceiling fans. We only had the aircon on for the first night then the fans & open louvre windows made it very comfortable. The pool was fantastic, just like swimming in a billabong. There is a short walk through the property down to the beach which is never ending. There is a stinger net enclosure were you can swim further down the beach which is walkable. We stayed 5 nights & were totally relaxed by the end. Would highly recommend this accommodation. Very excited at seeing a large Cassowary which was roaming around the village, took some great pictures.
Review 99:Wi-fi unpredictable - kept having to move to the patio area to re-connect.
Review 100:Plenty of space and facilities good. Easy walk to the beach. Lovely pool and gardens. Very quiet and private.
Review 101:No meal options on a Sunday but being so close to town it wasn't a huge issue.
Review 102:So close to the beach, great size room & spa, comfy bed and friendly staff. No complaints will definitely stay again
Review 103:The location was lovely. The pool was great. We travelled with 4 small children, and were grateful for the shade, and lovely gardens for the kids to run around in.The staff were very helpful and friendly.
Review 104:Secluded spacious bungalow, short walk to the beach and Mission Beach restaurants but try the meals at the Eco Village's own restaurant first. Beautiful setting and the meals were great. Thanks Dan - will see you again
Review 105:Having to ask other residents at 3.00am to keep the noise down!
Review 106:The location and resort setting was fantastic. Right on the beach with an isolated tropical resort feel. Facilities were clean and comfortable.
Review 107:Bungalow 6 only negative was it had more wild life activity at night which tended to wake you, Bungalow 13 had weak and sometimes no Wifi
Review 108:3 nites in Bungalow 13, very quiet, then offered upggrade to Bungalow 6 larger kitchen extra bedroom closer to both pool and beach
Review 109:Restaurant/bar was meant to be open second night we were there, but it wasn't. On arrival the reception area and staff member stank of stale alcohol and didn't offer any information i.e. places to eat in town, local places of interest etc. Didn't let any of this ruin our trip though, would go back in a heart beat.
Review 110:Location fantastic - short walk to town. Very peaceful and right on the beach. Lovely landscaped grounds. Room was perfect with wonderful Jacuzzi bath. A perfect getaway location.
Review 111:Wifi didn't work in our cabins but we were probably the furthest cabin from the office, however, it did work near the pool.
Review 112:Felt like I had my own private beach a short stroll away
Review 113:Couple of small issues - the sink plug didn't fit which made washing the dishes difficult, there was a strong smell of bleach or some other cleaning fluid that took a day and a bit to disappear. For the latter I guess we knew it was clean.
Review 114:Location is great. Resort has a very relaxing feel.
Review 115:The kids had two cabins, which were close to the road and therefore noisy. The Wifi signal was weak and not working in the cabins away from the main house.
Review 116:Very friendly and helpful staff. We gave nice tips where to dine and provided fresh fruit for free for all guests. The kitchen was fully equipped. The mission beach area is perfect for small children. The owner opened the restaurant for dinner on special request. Nice customer orientation.
Review 117:Nothing all was perfect!
Review 118:I loved the layout of the units they were extremely spacious with plenty of storage , and were set in private, tranquil surroundings, each had a lovely pond with a little spot to sit and watch nature. The gardens were beautifully kept with a large central pool. Just a short walk into the small town of mission beach, which had a nice place (the fish bar) to sit and have a drink and something to eat, unfortunately the girl running the bar was rude and abrupt.
Review 119:Not one thing!
Review 120:Loved the surrounding rainforest , the peaceful sound except for the birds singing. The beach is on your doorstep and is a pleasant way to walk to restaurants and shops. We even saw a cassowary. Can't speak highly enough ......Will definitely be going back!!!
Review 121:Nothing we didn't like but I would just like to say that the rooms were quite dark inside and The Outside chairs would be more comfy with cushions on
Review 122:Friendly Staff Fantastic Pool No need to go anywhere if you didn't want to as facilities were great Rooms a great size Activities available as well I think
Review 123:No bedside tables. Only two of everything in Kitchen eg Mugs. plates etc. Room was very dark only place with enough light to read by was in bed.
Review 124:The location was good. Pool area very nice. Restaurant on site was excellent.
Review 125:What a wonderful setting - spacious individual villas nestled amidst tropical gardens, around a natural-style pool, and a short walk through the trees to the beach. Very private and quiet.
Review 126:No heating (it was colder than expected). The room was quite dark. No breakfast opportunity. The restaurant was uninviting despite a lovely setting ( could have advertised better locally as all the restaurants in town were full being a Saturday night)
Review 127:Peace and quiet. Beautiful garden setting. Easy walk into town via road path or beach.
Review 128:We asked for a quiet room but were close to staff quarters/working area and the road. It would be quieter across the swimming pool, closer to the beach. If we stayed again we'd ask for cabins 7 and 8.
Review 129:Pleasant and comfortable cabin. The guest laundry behind Reception was very handy.
Review 130:all good
Review 131:simply but nicely appointed, beach 2mins,so quiet amongst the thick trees, grounds great, great restaurant not overpriced, accom units very private. no cars parked at units. Brillant, will return sooner rather than later.
Review 132:Wi-Fi was a bit intermittent.
Review 133:Staying in a resort that was so close to a beautiful beach and surrounded by tropical rainforest was amazing. Even saw the endangered Southern Cassowary 3 times in our 5 day stay...wonderful! Dined in-house and the service and food were great! Would highly recommend this wonderful location! We found Dan, extremely friendly and helpful.
Review 134:The location of Eco village was handy to the shopping & dining facilities of Mission Beach. The room we had was very clean and really spacious. It was very relaxing and quite. The staff were very friendly. Would definitely recommend this resort.
