Reviews for Dar Adrar
Review 1:Only negative was that I couldn't pay by credit card. This would be less of a problem if I'd known in advance.
Review 2:Wonderful staff, very helpful and accommodating. English speaking guide at reasonable rate, good dinners in the evening. They also arranged transfers from and to Marrakech for me. Lovely terrace in the sun over-looking the mountains - perfect for breakfast before a day's hike. As a solo female traveller, I would highly recommend this as a place to stay.
Review 3:We stayed there before our trek from Imlil to Seti Fadma. Great location, need to walk from the Trek Shop but they bring your luggage on a donkey. Breakfast is great, dinner great took, we ate on the roof terrace, view superb. Staff all great, clean, quiet, good WiFi in lower lounge, perfect place.
Review 4:We were a little confused at arrival as we couldn't get hold of the accommodation and the shop where the email directed us was closed, but that's mostly down to bad cell reception in the area as I could not get hold of them. After we managed to figure out who could take us to the accommodation, it was all good. The room is comfortable, it's basic but clean.
Review 5:Amazing location, beautiful views, great staff, great evening meal (I bet you're not going to want to treck back to the village for food in the evening). The reason to choose this accommodation (on top of it being good value) though is that they have great local guides that can arrange for hikes, whether you want to do a full-scale hike of the nearby peak or just do a more relaxed one-day trek. Find the accommodation's site for info on the possible tours, there are not marked paths in the area so you kinda need a guide to get anywhere.
Review 6:This guesthouse is the best we have stayed in morocco. The staff are super active and do everything humanely possible to make your experience magical. The room windows open to beautiful scenery.they arrange all tours on mountains upon requests. Just make a request and see how they handle it!
Review 7:From the minute we arrived, out of breath from the walk up from Imlil, we were treated like royalty by Hamid. The views from the sun terrace are amazing, quite jaw-dropping.
Review 8:There is a small annoying tree in the way of the view by the terrace
Review 9:Everything. The honey for breakfast was the best I have ever tasted. Best location in Imlil.
Review 10:none
Review 11:The staff (particularly Hamed and Omar) the breakfasts and the views. We also loved the location, 1/2 Km from a beautiful rushing mountain stream.
Review 12:WiFi Could be better.
Review 13:Great place. Very friendly and helpfull staff. Had a beautiful walk up the mountains with Lachsin, great guy and our guide. Take this walk up and enjoy the fresh orange juice at the top. Love to come back here.
Review 14:The views from Dar Adrar are fantastic. The staff are helpful and polite---allowing us to choose our room as it was quiet season. We had a room with a wood burner which was lit every night for us. Loved it. Overall--Good value for money. We will return.
Review 15:The bedroom was chilly but when we asked they gave us an electric heater.
Review 16:We liked the atmosphere - a bit like a mountain hut or a Nepalese lodge. We enjoyed the meals next to the wood stove and chatting with the other guests. The food was good. The place is fantastic value and the staff are helpful with advice on walks, etc.
Review 17:The breakfast was very simple, just bread and honey or marmalade. Most of the time this was adequate but we didn't really enjoy the bread.
Review 18:Hamad is the main member of staff and he is superb. Nothing was too much trouble for him and he worked all day and night to make sure everything was clean and ready for guests.
Review 19:Nothing
Review 20:Good food, good and helpful host, great location for families and trekkers. Very picturesque. Very relaxing. Host organised mule trek with no fuss at remarkably low price approx £8 per person for mule & guide for a day.
Review 21:It was a little noisy and difficult to sleep - rooms not sound proofed and sounds of local farms and children would wake us up early everyday.
Review 22:Dar Adrar is located in a secluded part of Imlil, not accessible by car - so a donkey collects luggage to carry up. Views of the surrounding mountains are beautiful and breakfast was generous. Big bathroom, room with wood burning stove was authentic.
Review 23:Fantastic guesthouse in Imlil. Very clean. Great food, too. The staff are very friendly and helpful. Would definitely go again.
Review 24:It's was amazing guesthouse the people there are so friendly
Review 25:Bed was a little hard and wifi was spotty.
Review 26:Location and staff are great. Loved the rooftop patio
Review 27:Good food, very helpfull personal, correct prices
Review 28:Ahmed is fantastic! super friendly place, super view over Imlil
Review 29:Friendly atmosphere, value for money.
Review 30:Staff and guides are such lovely people, cannot do enough for you.
Review 31:Friendly staff, good views, wood burners amazing! Very peaceful, accommodating and helpful re trekking
Review 32:Lovely location in the mountains with beautiful views. Friendly staff who were always happy to bring tea. Good breakfast and good evening meal too.
Review 33:The warmth and generosity of the gracious hosts Hamid and Omar was exceptional. They are thoughtful and caring, as well as being great cooks! This is the most relaxing place to stay and I would recommend it highly.
Review 34:We loved dar Adrar - we intended to stay 3 nights but couldn't leave and stayed another 3 nights! Fantastic location, lovely warm friendly staff, log fire in the bedroom at night, fresh food every evening on the terrace watching sunset over the mountains..perfect
Review 35:Packed lunch was a little basic.
Review 36:Staff very welcoming, fire in room lovely, hotel in beautiful location, and roof terrace wonderful. Guide was brilliant, evening meals were delicious.
Review 37:My wife and I along with our 3 year old stayed at Dar Adrar for couple of nights and had a great holiday. The place is very child friendly and the staff, especially Hameed, went out of his way to make our stay a memorable one. The place is an excellent location for those planning to trek mount Toubkal. Tasty and filling breakfast. The lounge is a fantastic place to have lively conversation with other guests. For those driving to Imlil, Dar Adrar is a good 10-15 minutes walk/trek, so if you have luggage or little ones, park your car in the Imlil town (there are 2 manned parking lots), and call the hotel. They'll send the mule down to pick up your luggage/little ones. Highly recommend this especially if you arrive there late in the night or if you are carrying heavy stuff.
Review 38:If you have trubble walkin upwards this is probably not your place.
Review 39:Fantastic and very helpfull staff. Serving dinner and making fire in your room every night if requested. If you travel during winter book a room with fireplace since the room temperature otherwise is low. Nice view from the roof terrace.
Review 40:Very friendly host. And great meals at budget price - compared to Imlil in generel. It was a bit cold at night, so it was great to sit in the living room and enjoy the cosy, warm fireplace.
Review 41:Nothing! Everything was wonderful.
Review 42:The extra 10 minute walk up the hill is worth every second! Plus, aslong as you stop at the Atlas Trek shop (same owners) on the mainstreet in town, they will call for the guesthouse to bring down a muleto carry up your stuff for free! It's a great touch since the walkup with luggage is a bit steep. I do not have a single regret orcomplaint about this riad/guesthouse. The rooms were clean andlarge. The terrasse is amazing. They will prepare you an amazing dinnerif you request it. And to eat supper while the call to prayer echoesover the mountains is pretty much my favorite Moroccan memory. I noticethat several other people have remarked the same thing: try to stay fortwo nights! Don't just make this a quick stop after you trekToubkal (also a highlight). Our biggest regret is that we didn'tspend an extra night in Imlil enjoying the village and the guesthouse. Also: the trek shop will show you where to park your car. A guardwatched our rental for the two nights for 2euro/nt. He was veryhelpful and friendly too!
Review 43:Dar Adrar is located just outside of Imlil, on the way to Aremd and, beyond that, Jebel Toubkal. Because Mohamed Aztat, the owner, is amountain guide and outfitter, the dar is a popular starting point forascents on that highest peak in North Africa. Both times I have stayedat Dar Adrar, in fact, there have been climbing parties leaving for themountain in the morning, well fed with the guest house breakfast andperhaps also dinner from the night before. (Breakfast is included in theprice of the room; dinner is extra.) The building itself is unremarkablefrom the outside, but inside it is something else. One of the downstairsrooms has a wall built around a hillside boulder, and at least two roomshave woodstoves. When I stayed in a main-floor room with a stove, itfelt romantic once the fire was going, but it took quite a while and afair amount of smoke in the room to get the stove started--and I livewith a woodstove at home. This time we had a large downstairs room, andthe staff provided us with a space heater. The bedrooms can be chilly, and the hot showers can be iffy, but for me that doesn't detractfrom the overall charm of the place. The large common room has a verygood wood-burning stove that makes it cozy for lounging and recoveringafter a hike. That's also where meals are served, at least in thecooler months. There's a rooftop terrace with good views of thevalley, too. The staff are efficient, helpful, and friendly. If I'mback in Imlil, I'll stay there again.
Review 44:The room was overpriced - very simple facilities but charging same rates as good hotels in centre of Marrakesh
Review 45:Great staff, good dinners
Review 46:We enjoyed the wood burner in the dining room. The food was excellent with great service, all for a great price. Recommend highly to all travellers.
Review 47:friendly staff, clean and tidy
Review 48:Very organized and professional.
Review 49:Great location for climbing Toubkal. Wonderful staff, good food.
Review 50:Staff very helpful. Meals were fantastic, freshy cooked and welcoming after a hard days trekking in the mountains.
Review 51:Love Omar and hamid they are my good body!
The Fine Print
