Reviews for Casa Manzella

Review 1:If you have a car, you must park at the private pay lot which is a few blocks away. Getting luggage up to the hotel is a challenge since it's up a hill with several stairs. There is a Porter Service Company available (not affiliated with the hotel) but they will gouge you if you don't negotiate. They charged €25 which was way too much.

Review 2:Friendly staff, amazing views, safe environment.

Review 3:Sometimes the church bells bothered me or the infrequent jets but overall something I can deal with.

Review 4:Perfect location, close to Palermo airport and all major attractions including center of town and restaurant/shopping areas. 200 yards from beach and clear water. Access to scuba and very informative about different adventures. Great Terrace to enjoy the sun or relax time.

Review 5:Very nice b & b owners very nice, clean, right by the piazza 1 minute walk. Food bakery grocerys, shopping all very close , so is the beach, you can easily walk to everything. Great breakfast in morning in the dining atea. Also very private. Very safe area my children in thier 20s went out alone every night by themselves, very freindly town. Airport is 20 minutes or less away. We rented a car and did day trips from here. If you want to expierince the real culture of sicily, this is the place

Review 6:This location is great to be walking distance from the seaside. Also is right in the Duomo square with all kinds of places to eat and drink and next to the Mother Church.

Review 7:A bit hard to find. Minimal signage off the pedestrian walk. Look for the piazza and the statue.

Review 8:Quaint, older building on a pedestrian walk near the port. Super nice staff, speaks enough English to be comfortable. Stairs required so pack light. Close to Palermo airport! Great value for the cost.

Review 9:Air conditioning could be more powerful.

Review 10:Very pleasant and very friendly little town, very close to the airport and the car hire place in Cisini. Convenient for one night stay. Staff very helpful and pleasant. The room was very nice, homely atmosphere, easy access to town square and small beach.

Review 11:Staff were very friendly and helpful. Our flight was delayed, but they happily waited about for us to arrive, even though we were more than an hour and half past checkin time.

Review 12:Poor wifi

Review 13:Close to the square where you can find all the restaurants and 5 min walk from the beach. Friendly staff. One way transfer costs 30€ which was worth the price since this town is a little bit off and it is hard to find other way to get to this place.

Review 14:The baked goods at breakfast all seemed industrially made, and except for a bit of fresh fruit, the quality of the food was mediocre.

Review 15:Lovely spot in small square.Spacious, clean room – surprisingly quiet given that there were several late night bars/pizzerias were close by.

Review 16:This is a very comfortable B&B located between a small square and a quiet street. There is a very nice restaurant downstairs. We had a very large room and enjoyed a nice breakfast before heading to the airport.

Review 17:I had a great stay at Casa Manzella. Location, house, room, breakfast — everything just perferct. Mr Manzella offered a shuttle service from and back to the airport for a very good price.

Review 18:After awful time in Palermo, you can relax here the night before leaving Sicily. I chose this B&B since I have to catch 8:00AM plane, so I thought it is good idea to stay near the airport. Room was clean, but it is above the cafes so a little noisy. Thankfully, my room was in the other side, so I slept well. Easy to find and very close to Duomo where you can find good foods. Nearby ristorante "Primafila" provided very good Sicilian food. One of the best ristorantes, in my opinion.

Review 19:Nothing

Review 20:We stayed here for 3 nights and booked a further night on our return. We found this family run hotel delightful and the location excellent. The hotel is situated within metres of the lively town square and minutes walk from the beach. This is not a tourist town but has tons of Sicilian charm and great food.

Review 21:Have a GPS, map or reference as hotel located on a very small street and was a little difficult to find.

Review 22:Pleasant small inn, spotless and spacious large rooms. It is very convenient to Palermo Airport. The owner is very helpful and my lack of Italian was not a problem.

Review 23:•there's a lot of restaurant and cafe noise at nighttime from the street below so you'll need to turn on the ac and close the window. •you need to have a phone to call the owner to make sure he's there to let you in.

Review 24:•This was a perfectly located place to stay near the airport. It's only a 7 minute drive by car away. •Terrasini was the perfect place to stay on our last night in Sicily before our early morning flight the next day. It's a small town with a center so it didn't feel like we were staying in some anonymous, sterile airport hotel. •it's on a pedestrian street surrounded by lots of restaurants and cafes. •3 minute walk to the town beach which is actually quite a nice one. •the Casa has a very nice rooftop terrace with tables and chairs on two levels. A nice place to hang out. •the owner was accommodating, helpful. •big room, spacious bathroom

Review 25:All was good

Review 26:Our room had a balcony overlooking a pedestrian area so could watch everyone walking by. Loved the situation right by the pizazz a. We could walk out and find a restaurant or walk to the beach. Vincenzo was very helpful and picked us up from the airport when we needed to return our rental car and brought us back in his convertible VW . Also took us back to the airport early next morning so a great place to stay for getting to the airport or Palermo. The whole place was very clean and tidy and lovely decoration. Great roof top area.

Review 27:Lovely, spacious, clean room and bathroom. Even had a terrace. Fantastic breakfast, very helpful and kind owners.

Review 28:Location,servis

Review 29:WIFI connection wasn't always good.

Review 30:Very friendly owner, nice room.

Review 31:No mosquito nets on the windows. No place to leave luggage after check out.

Review 32:Big room. Right in the middle of town.

Review 33:Proximity to Palermo airport, welcoming Piazza with cafes etc

Review 34:so well located that it was a bit noisy

Review 35:the guy who ran the place set us up with great transport for early flight

Review 36:Very close to restaurants and bars. Friendly staff :-)

Review 37:Steep flight of stairs. Wifi did not work. No bedside table or reading lights. Tiny TV.

Review 38:Located close to bars and restaurants in centre of Terrasini.

Review 39:We were made very welcome at a wuiet time of year. And in their restaurant they responded with delicious offering at my casual enquiry abour aperatives ...and main meal delicious. Very handy fir the ancient greek Selinunte site.

Review 40:It was very noisy outside at night and when we closed the doors the aircon did not work.

Review 41:Room was very comfortable and in a central position. Good parking, good breakfast.

Review 42:It was all good.

Review 43:It was well located for restaurants and within easy reach of the airport. Lovely decor. The owner was really nice, and well organised. Lovely balcony with flowers, looking out on to a pedestrian precinct. Plenty of free parking a few steps from the door.

Review 44:- Noise during evening/night. It's near the central square, where all the restaurants and cafes are. It may have been bad luck, but the evening of our stay there was a big party with live music, until late in the night. Because the airco didn't function very well, we had to open the windows. We didn't sleep until 03:00 clock… - The owner doesn't speak english

Review 45:Large room Baby bed

Review 46:We knew that the sea was close to the centre of town so we went to explore the beach. That was very disappointing as the beach was covered by litter.

Review 47:The B and B is in a beautiful building with a lovely terrace for guests' use. The breakfast was excellent. We could walk out to a nearby restaurant where the staff were very friendly. We had to leave early and the proprietor left breakfast for us.

Review 48:When we arrived, there was no one in the B&B. When we rang the doorbell, a waiter from the restaurant (Arabasque) under the B&B finally showed up. The restaurant staff was busy and appeared rather annoyed to take care of B&B guests. None of the restaurant staff spoke other than Italian. The pizza that night in the Arabasque wasn't very good.

Review 49:This B&B is an attractive facility with large rooms and a breakfast room that opens on a 1st floor balcony. It is on a pedestrian street just north of the main place in front of the cathedral. The Sunday we arrived appeared to be a local holiday, and the cafes on the street and place were full of people. It was easy to park nearby, but this may not be the case on a day other than a Sunday afternoon.

Review 50:The mattresses sagged. I only managed to get onto the WiFi a couple of times for short periods of time.

Review 51:The charm of the room and facilities. The location. The breakfast room atmosphere.

Review 52:Quite difficult to find

Review 53:Excellent for an overnight stop before our flight home from Palermo airport. Proprietor very kind and left breakfast ready to enable us to make an early start.

Review 54:But we didn't like the steep stairs at the back up which we had to carry our bags!

Review 55:Chatting with the owner over breakfast. Having an excellent meal at the adjoining restaurant. The Friday market on the square in front. The huge room we had. The owner checking for us if and when the fascinating museum was open.

Review 56:Distance to airport was provided as the crow flies at around 4 km. Shuttle was closer to 20 km any took about 15 minutes n

Review 57:Lovely hotel in great little lively town. Hotel staff arranged shuttle service to airport and was very reliable.

Review 58:As mentioned by another reviewer there is a noisy bar across other sideof street playing music (but it is not that noisy!)

Review 59:It was ok finding it on my sat nav. I managed to park in the streetparallel to the hotel. Yes as mentioned, you press the buzzer, the ownerrings the restaurant next door who then lets you in. This was not aproblem and worked smoothly Convenient for airport The room is clean, warm and ok

Review 60:So perfectly convenient to the Palermo airport, this hotel is right in the heart of a small town with a nice main piazza and plenty of restaurants. Especially good for the weary traveler arriving after a long trip as we were immediately made comfortable by the owner and the ambience. Our room was simple, large, air conditioned and very comfortable. We recommend the restaurant in the same building for a classic Sicilian supper. We woke to a lively and busy Friday market right out the front door of the hotel. The large breakfast room made for meeting new people and was complete with local produce, eggs, cheeses, meats and cappuccinos made on request. The owner went out of his way to help us with a rental car problem. We felt we got tremendous value and convenience both.

Review 61:We like Terrasini and the location of the hotel is great. I totallyagree with the reviews that say it's a lovely, spacious, clean hotelwith very nice staff. We also liked the restaurant next door

Review 62:Very lovely place! Rooms are really clean and comfortable! The hotel is small and cosy! The location is perfect for this city ih the most beautiful street and close to the beach! Higly recommend Casa Manzella for staying in Terrasini

Review 63:There were no printed directions for the location, just a little map thatyou could not read when I printed out the copy.

Review 64:The owner was very nice and helpful. The room was very satisfactory.Location was great. Would stay again when in the area.

Review 65:There is no lift, but the rooms are on the 1st floor.

Review 66:This B&B is renewed and clean. The brother of the owner has a restaurant very close-by, which has good food and is very cosy.

Review 67:The Town of Terrasini lovely but the beaches were dirty.

Review 68:Casa Manzella was spotless and very friendly. Its locations was central and yet 5 minutes from the beach. The atmosphere was relaxed.

Review 69:-Great location right beside town square and lovely restaurants, and only a few seconds from the sea. -comfortable, clean, spacious rooms -extremely friendly staff, especially the manager.

Review 70:We had to call in order for the agreed transportation from the airport to arrive. Finally arrived half an hour late.

Review 71:Very friendly and accommodating staff. Nice and clean place. Breakfast better than others have described. Fresh fruit, youghurt and ham almost every day.

Review 72:The place was very difficult to find. The house numbers didn'tmatch. The ad says shuttle service is available for a surcharge. I didnot expect a 30 euro surcharge for a ride to the airport in the morning.

Review 73:The gentleman that met us was very friendly and arrived within 15minutes of us ringing the bell. The place was clean and attractive.

Review 74:There are no words to describe this except off the beaten path and well...First, this place is very hard to locate. A lot of one way narrowroads lead to a circular piazza. Even 20' from the hotel, I had toask where it was located. There is a "door bell" that says -ring doorbell, and someone will be here within 15 minutes. Well, we didthat many times and continued to wait and knock on the door. Finally,we went in search of a local vendor or someone that may know how to getin. We were told that the owner was probably out shopping around town.A man knew where a spare key was kept and let us in. A pointed to adrawer that had many keys and said to look for our last name. About 30minutes after getting to our room, the manager showed up. He said heneeded to fill out paperwork. It was then that he said this was a"cash only" business. We had about a 30 minute screamingmatch where he was very irratated and wanted to be paid. We told him wedid not realize it was cash only, and that we would need to leave. Atthat point he said it was a confirmed reservation and that he wouldcharge our charge card if we left. I said well than charge it so we canstay. He said he could not do that. He finally went to the restaurantdownstairs and made an agreement with them that we would eat there andadd our hotel room to the tab. (Not affordable). Later, he said isthere anything that you need because I am leaving now. (This was about6pm). At that time we did not have any questions until we decided to goto bed. We turned down our beds and our sheets were dirty and therewere ants on our beds. We wanted clean linens and some extra pillowsand to see if we could get a room "without ants". There wasno one on the premises. No linen closet. No phone number to contact forany problems. We were stuck!

Review 75:Just a door above the Arabesque restaurant, but once on the first floora beauty to behold!! Very well furnished and full of quality. We foundout that is also a rear door, with parking only 10 metres away. Wecouldn't immediately find the hotel, so we parked near the churchand asked. A group of teenage boys had just come out of school. I askedin my best Italian for directions and one of the group detatched himselffrom the others and walked us to the door, before rejoining his friends.Sicillian hospilality...brilliant. And all the Sicillians that we metaccross the island were fantastic.

Review 76:The usual litter found all over Sicily...in this town it was on the beaches and around the beach road. Sicily must do something about garbage and litter which despoils this island.

Review 77:Creative decor, atmosphere of a mediterranean villa. managers welcoming and helpful, had breakfast set out for our 5:30 depature to airport. The town is small and not overcrowded with tourists. Also a great natural history museum which also has a huge collection of colorful old Vegetable carts..quite a find...

Review 78:No one to get key from. Paged to contact owner, no answer, finally went next door to a restaurant and they gave us a key?

Review 79:Great location in a cute city of Terrasini, nice room with small balcony.

Review 80:There are no staff on the premises. Contact is via an intercom at thedoor which rings a remote telephone that is difficult to hear andunderstand even if you have good Italian. The keys were eventuallyprovided by the owner of the restaurant on the ground floor whofortunately happened to be outside varnishing the doors. Check out isfrom 6.00am in the morning but there was nobody to pay and noinstructions on how to leave the money which had to be in cash.Breakfast provided was very poor. Very stressful if you are leaving tocatch a plane at the airport.

Review 81:Room was large and very clean. The B&B has two good roof terraces.

Review 82:Easy to find (gps coordinates are ok) but difficult to reach due to city"grid" layout with almost only one-way direction streets. Onceyou think you are almost there, you have to drive in the oppositedirection (again). Try to consider it as an extended city tour... ;-)

Review 83:Clean, large room. Free WiFi. Near the city center.

Review 84:The breakfast room should accommodate more people. Cash is the only accepted form of payment.

Review 85:This B&B was better than I expected. It has very spacious rooms with nice small balconies overlooking orange trees. The building itself is historic and recently renovated. The roof terrace is just fantastic. It is conveniently located near the main square where there's a great restaurant, the Silver Restaurant, and it is facing a small square where we easily found parking.

Review 86:A bit difficult to find without a satnav but good directions can beprinted out from the Booking.com web site.

Review 87:Very friendly welcome and well appointed family hotel. There is norestaurant but a bar across the small square in front of the hotel and agreat restaurant below the hotel. This is approached from theresidential street behing the b&b main entrance or down the stairs atthe end of the hall on the first floor.Best frito di mare I've had since 1963! and a great sphagetti con vongole!

Review 88:Very nicely refurbished, clean and very friendly. Location perfect for the town centre.

Review 89:Flexible with breakfast time, nice large room, friendly host although doesn't speak English

Review 90:very clean, very friendly, other restaurants close by

Review 91:I only wish they took credit card

Review 92:can't think of any negatives

Review 93:close to airport, but well outside of Palermo. finding parking was easier than I had been led to believe

Review 94:Sparse breakfast

Review 95:1 location in the town 2 comfort of the room 3 friendliness of the staff4 functioning a/c 5

Review 96:Proximity to the airport when yours scheduled flight is early in the morning

Review 97:Beautiful and clean rooms. Family room had bunk bed and my two boys loved it! Good breakfast and very friendly staff.
