Reviews for Città del Mare Hotel Village
Review 1:Everything!!! This hotel was horrible. The staff were unfriendly and unhelpful. The rooms were filthy and need a renovation. The hotel requires you put money on a hotel card to buy drinks or food, however, the cards never work and you spend more time arguing with the staff. They overcharged for several things and never apologized when I pointed it out.
Review 2:Nothing
Review 3:Worst hotel I have ever stayed at. Nothing was organized, customer service was horrible. I would never go back or recommend this hotel to anyone.
Review 4:Slides
Review 5:The facilities are rather out-dated and need a renovation They don't let any food from outside (even though there is a fridge in the room) and every meal costs 20EUR per person so it can be very expensive for a family stay
Review 6:The hotel has all you need for a vacation (great pools for adults and kids, restaurant, party at night...) so you really don't notice the distance from the beach Great sea slide Nice breakfast, free wi-fi Excellent gelato
Review 7:The wait to check in is ridiculous. It may keep us away from there in the future The way you pay for dinner and food is ridiculous.. That money is the card is a tough time and then we couldn't get into dinner The room in the Santa Maria. Em 310. Was bad. No air. Wi fi. Wouldn't reach us. Bathroom smelled. Bed was un comfortable After you check in you should have ppl driving the luggage and te ppl to thier rooms. Just use the golf carts you have
Review 8:Unbelievable views and pools and slides! And awesome swimming off the cliffs. !!
Review 9:The staff were not very helpful, the rooms look old and run down. Wifi wasn't working in my room so every time I need to use it I had to walk to reception. After my first night in the hotel someone put needles and other personal belongings that didn't belong to me in my room and the staff were not very apologetic.
Review 10:The only reason I visited was for the waterslide into the ocean and it was the only good thing about the hotel.
Review 11:Waiting over an hour for customer service and seems like People don't know what a "line" is. Same for buffet. Wifi is only in lobby :/
Review 12:Swimming
Review 13:The buffet dinner at Euro20 per person was not worth the money. This is Sicily. All dining should be a tasty satisfying experience. The food was horrible. Fish, meat, and cooked vegetables were all overlooked and bland. I could only eat the pasta.
Review 14:For the price I paid 2 nights breakfast included, not worth it.The room was not in the best condition, outside of the buildings and landscaping too.Ceiling in the room was peeling off, bathroom shower curtain was too short that it got the floor all wet when taking a shower. The bath towels are similar to a dish towel. AC was barely working and we experienced spurts of power outages. Minibar refregierator was not keeping drinks cool. Instead of paying 20 euros each for 5 people for dinner, we drove to a nearby ristorante and ate a good dinner for 38 euros. I booked our stay through booking.com and the pictures , well lets just say is not what your going to see when you arrive. Overall rating of this resort 3...
Review 15:The AC was not good, walls are paper thin, Wifi is not acceptable, breakfast was like an attack of people in need of nutrition and the eggs (hardboiled) where tough.
Review 16:The best part was the toboggan water side into the sea!!
Review 17:bed was uncomfortable, room was hot, room had no wifi, breakfast was fresh but had few options, had to pay extra for amenities, service employees just barged into room, resort needs a facelift for landscaping and painting.
Review 18:tobaggan, pool, proximity to terassini
Review 19:You will get here worst service from you pay for. We booked superior room and of course we get it in worst building, even those which are better were not fullfilled. They need total reconstruction of buildings, territory and attitude to the client
Review 20:Quantity but not quality of pools. A lot of various and beautiful plants, trees, but territory in general is in poor condition
Review 21:Service was one of the worst I have seen at a hotel. This is Sicily's largest resort on the island and its very run down and the customer service was deplorable. They didn't try to help answer any questions, gave out bad information and the waterslides were only open a few hours a day because everything shuts down even the pool so the staff can take a break. Dinner was a buffet which is fine but it was like people haven't eaten in 8 years and it was a mad rush, people pushed you out of the way, the wine was terrible and came from a spout and the food was average at best. This hotel needs a makeover. I am dumbfounded how this resort is even called a resort and able to stay open.
Review 22:Unclear about what our taxi to the airport would look like--we scheduled a time with the front desk. It wasn't a taxi it was a shuttle bus. There wasn't nightlife on Friday night when we arrived. The computers went down a few times so the drink cards wouldn't work. If you go make sure you have some small bills and coins to pay for things with correct change.
Review 23:Definitely buy full board. The staff was helpful but go when there isn't a line. The location was great. Short natural trails, water slides, pool and dance club were fantastic! We had an amazing time. I would go back here.
Review 24:the food was very poor, 20 euro for overcooked pasta. staff were ok but not very helpful, sent us around the hotel to a closed bar. expect all service to be very very slow. times were opened very erractically for shops, slides etc...
Review 25:the pool and slides were amazing
Review 26:The location
Review 27:Le formiche in camera
Review 28:La location
Review 29:The water slide was only open for a little bit during the day. The staff told us wrong information multiple times.
Review 30:They tried to fix their mistakes.
Review 31:This is a holiday village for families - I only stayed there to be close to the airport??
Review 32:It's overpriced, their slopes looks much longer in their online photos and the reality is different.
Review 33:The view
Review 34:Rude staff Old facilitied Dontvwant to visit here never
Review 35:mattresses were TERRIBLE
Review 36:location on the Mediterranean
Review 37:They should provide free shuttle buses to the airport.
Review 38:Upon arriving the male who checked us in was really rude. Barely explained how to get to our room (so we got lost dragging our bags all over). Pretty bare bones room but clean. One of the good big pools was closed.
Review 39:Slides and pools were a blast although one of the nice big pools was closed. Evening buffet only but not bad. Costs 20 euro each. Our balcony and view were amazing! Landscaping and grounds were gorgeous!
Review 40:Food was very overpriced Buffet food was disgusting, felt like I was eating frozen food Rooms were so bare, didn't even have any blankets! No wallchargers near bed WIFI connection speed was TERRIBLE and would drop out constantly, sometimes for hours.
Review 41:Waterslides Access to swimming in the ocean Good view Restaurant food much better than buffet Great reception staff
Review 42:The reception staff were rude, and took over half an hour to check us into the hotel (as they kept stopping to serve other people, and in one case, just wandering off). The room was clean, but dated- a reoccurring theme in the peach heavy interior of the hotel. The air con emitted only noise, leaving us both exhausted after a restless sleep in a stuffy room. At dinner time, as the hotel was in the middle of nowhere we tried to eat in the on site restaurant. We were told no. We then had to go back to reception, and spend another 20 minutes negotiating how we could spend money in the hotel. 40 euros lighter, we headed down to the fluorescent lit, windowless dining hall, or feeding pit as we affectionately called it. Offering an all you can eat buffet of greasy, dry (I didn't think food could be both- but they managed it!!) and tasteless fodder we unhappily filled up on bread rolls. Breakfast, was no better. Even the coffee (from a machine) was intolerable. And I've drank coffee from a Little Chef. Trust me, it was disgusting. The senseless rules did not stop at the restaurant. If you find yourself without cash, you can only buy a hotel card to preload cash on from the snail like reception. Get a grip people - this isn't Disneyland! Wifi is only free in the reception, and costs 2 euro to receive in your rooms. Finally, as we breathed a sign of relief as we packed to check out, we were rushed by the maid service three times, even though we checked out an hour early. Overall, this hotel is marred by its unhelpful staff, ridiculous rules, and complete lack of customer service. The food is inedible, and I would never, ever recommend that anyone visits this place ever.
Review 43:My boyfriend and I booked a night at this hotel solely for the water slides. They were....okay. A bit tame, and the slide into the sea was shut. Apart from that...just okay. The Olympic size pool was good, clean, and enough deck chairs around the pool for the scant few guests that were there. They are the only positive things I have to say about this hotel.
Review 44:Old buildings with inpleasant interior. Very bad sound isolation: you will hear all your neighbours say and do regardless if they are in house or outside. Choise of food at breakfast is more than modest
Review 45:We were very disappointed with the hotel. Centipedes everywhere -DIsgusting! The pictures of the interior of the rooms were misleadingbecause ours looked nothing like what you advertised! No one warned usthat the pool, slides, and putt putt golf course would close during theafternoons so that wasted our time. New towels were delivered to ourroom everyday and the floor was "broom" swept but the bedsheets weren't changed or even made and the floor wasn'twashed/moped, nor was the shower cleaned. The buffet restaurant wasincredibly expensive - 15€ for my kids that are 5 and 6 years old???- Soour only other choice to eat were sandwiches from the bar which were ofaverage quality. We paid for "wi-fi" but we had to be out onthe patio of our room to get any coverage. I would not recommend yourplace to anyone... Terrible value for the money!
Review 46:We were disappointed with the hotel only thing we liked was the viewover the sea
Review 47:Rude staff, slide closed, spa closed, so why did we come here? For theslide and spa. The Management was very rude and took to long to check usin and out, They did not like us Americans and were not very happy tohelp us...no day trips for us. But if you are from Turkey we have buseswaiting for your tours. They charged us 20. ero for a buffet that was sobad that my dog would not eat it. Oh, get your food fast because if itgone its gone, no refill...so how is that a buffet? This is the worstplace I have ever stayed and when I voiced this I was asked to leave, Ibooked for 148. EROs and when I checked in they charged me 188. and aextra charge of 60 to take me to the air port. I tried to speak tomanagement and was told it was not possible. The place is run down anddirty, the landscape has never been cut in years, over grown and deadthings every where you look. I would have left if I could get a refundon what I had paid. (Not possible) This place is a dump, save you selfthe time and trouble and dont go....was a worst part of my 20 day trip.It almost as good a 1 STAR,HAHa....
Review 48:The view from the room was great, you could sit on the back deck andjust look out and see the sea and sky. The staff at the pizza bar wasvery nice and did have good homemade pizza.
Review 49:Hotel looks very tired and unkept. Needs updating. I will not be staying at this hotel again despite the fact that I have be travelling to the hotel since 2006. Disappointing trip in October 2013
Review 50:Some of the staff friendly
Review 51:The meals were served at the strict time intervals and it was not clearly communicated to us. As a result we missed our breakfast and were unable to get any other meal in exchange. Also, I was not very keen of the 'voucher system' where you had to purchase a token for a set amount to be able later on to pay for your purchases in a bar or coffee shop on the beach.
Review 52:The hotel is set in the lovely location between trees. It has excellent sporting facilities (including 50m swiming pool) as well as a little decking along sea front where you can rest and enjoy lovely views.
Review 53:Distant location, grumpy and sometimes even insultingly rude staff. The compound is min. 40 min walking from any normal shop. And they only serve extremely low quality, and extremely overpriced food, at very limited times. Due to this we went hungry for longer periods every day of out stay. Not your normal idea of a relaxing vacation. Not only that but you cannot buy the food with normal cash or credit card. You need to purchase a special card only valid in the hotel resort shops/bars/restaurants. On which the remaining cents cannot be transferred to a new one. Summed up this is a tourist trap where they lock you up behind big fences, force you too buy overpriced bad food, and even deny you to jump into the ocean from any point highter than 30cm above sea level. If you dont care about the quality of food, or paying rediculous prices for everything. Don't let the luxurious scenery lure you in. Do not live here unless you are 60+ or a wealthy russian
Review 54:The waterslides were fun, thats about it on the positive side
Review 55:absolutely ignorant staff at the reception - problems with everything, starting with the very slow check-in and check-out (leaving their place even 5 times to greet somebody), no information before on the city tax, never ending misunderstandings on the payment system in the bars and self service restaurant. about the restaurants: we did not check the other one, but for the dinner at self-service they asked for 30 eur/pers. more than exaggerated. the breakfast was of a poor quality do not suggest this place for people who want to visit Terrasini centre but travel without a car - the only transport available during the evenings is taxi
Review 56:the pools were ok, unfortunately the nicest swimming pool with the access to the sea was closed on Monday. but cannot complain about the ones we tried. the room was very, very simple, but not bad. the best point was the magnificent sea-view from the Sardegna house
Review 57:I paid way too much money for my run down room! Shower right beside thetoilet! Closet door broken, paint chipping on the inside as well as theoutside. Location miles away from everything. If I didn't bring mydaughter I probably would have asked for my money back.
Review 58:The atomoshpere and staff were excellent. The best service. The poolsand activities were lots of fun. Good entertainment! Lots of stuff todo. I had a nice view in the hotel room (the only nice thing)..lookingoff the med.
Review 59:They had no record of our bookingIt took 1hour and 45 mins to check in!! After a 4 hour drive this was disgusting but they did get us rooms eventually
Review 60:Activities Location Fantastic slides Great activity staff
Review 61:A car is essential to get anywhere else outside the complex. There is no "local" village to which one could walk. Sometimes the music was unnecessarily loud and went on very late at night. Not so good for anyone really needing a good night's sleep. Our room was some distance from the sources of music but the constant bass seemed to come through the ground. The beach was a short mini bus trip away but offered good swimming.
Review 62:The general staff attitude was excellent. English was well spoken and there were no serious communication difficulties. Although dining was a bit of a bear garden the choice of food was perfectly satisfactory, wine was included and there were no difficulties with teenagers having second or third helpings. The range of pools, tennis courts, football etc, and entertainment generally seemed well designed for families. Lots of people seemed to be enjoying themselves including groups of children in what appeared to be well ordered school parties.
Review 63:Although the view is amazing, it is mostly blocked by very tall trees. You can tell that the gardening is not taken care of very well. Everyroom looks out to the ocean, but most of the view is just trees. Themini golf you can tell they havent maintained in about 10 years as well.I stayed at the pinta building and it was well kept, however thebuildings in the otherside do look broken down a little. The hotel isbot bugest friendly at all! We had bed and breakfast, but to eat lunchor dinner, we would have ro pay 20 euro everytime! We paid one night andthe food is not worth 20€. We would buy lots of paninis during the day,and taken them to our room. You get a work out everyday because noteverything is close to each other. The walk to and back from the superslide is a hike. So many hills and stairs, its very tiring.
Review 64:The super slide of the hotel was amazing. We did scuba diving aswell and they help you out alot if its your firat time doing it. Themain pool was huge which I find perfect so you dont feel crowdedwith other people. A lot of the workera knew english and that madeit easy to comunicate. They were all very friendly. They have alotof sport activities that u can do suring the day if you dont want toswim all the time.
Review 65:Most staff didn't speak English, rooms dated, noise level, food was fair, grounds were over grown.
Review 66:Large balcony, facilities
Review 67:- well designed village
Review 68:The food was just ... awfull.
Review 69:The sundeck by the sea.
Review 70:Pools, slides, facilities, bars, discotheque, restaurants, ...
Review 71:great for family
Review 72:the prices for beer and drinks is a bit expensive
Review 73:staff is very good and the place is clean
