Reviews for Hotel Paradiso

Review 1:Leaving.

Review 2:Couldn't believe the size of the rooms. The staff were so hospitable - made us feel very comfortable - especially enzo and his trusty hound Nelan. The beach is incredible.

Review 3:When we arrived we were greeted by a gentleman who was so polite and welcoming. He also upgraded our room to a suite, it was so beautiful. We only stayed for one night and wish we had stayed all weekend in this hotel. Friendly, helpful, generous. We had a lovely stay in the gorgeous suite.

Review 4:The restaurant was closed when we arrived, so every day we had a 20 minute walk along the beach and back to eat. Breakfast in the hotel was very limited. Apartment not cleaned at all during a week there and no clean sheets.

Review 5:Very close to the beach. We had a 5 bed apartment for 2 people so there was plenty of space.

Review 6:Self catering accommodation right by the beach. Loved being soothed to sleep by the waves every night. Apartment was basic but clean and had everything we needed for 5 days - addition of a kettle would be good though. Living area quite small and dark but presume dining etc done outside most of the time when the weather is warm enough.

Review 7:The room we had originally given was not what we had booked, the so called sea view from the top floor was a sea view only if u stand up! U could just about see the sea above the tree line, if u sat u just see a parapit wall. Thankfully the owner was accommodating and gave us a very large room on the first floor overlooking the trees and apartment buildings.I wouldnt bother getting a room with sea view as u cannot see it any way as there are trees and apartment buildings in front of the whole hotel. Breakfast was very poor and not refilled Italian basic. Was a bit far from main village and the safest way to go (unless by car) was through a 20min walk on the sandy beach. Food at the hotel restaurant and snack bar on the beach was ok but not exciting.

Review 8:Nice big modern room in first floor recently renovated. Hotel was beautiful decorated with old traditional furniture decorated throughout the building.2 min walk from beach

Review 9:Enzo and family were exceptionally helpful and friendly, they couldn't do enough for us, they drove us into town, which is not far at all, but we had high heels on, they were very hospitable. Would go again in a heartbeat!

Review 10:The drainage in the shower wasn't great. Also the wifi access was only accessible from the lobby/reception area of the hotel and not in the room we stayed in.

Review 11:Our hosts at the hotel were wonderful - charming, friendly and helpful. We booked a family studio overlooking the sea that slept 5 people (there were only 2 of us) and it was great, it had everything we needed; plenty of towels, kitchen equipment etc. The hotel has its own section of the gorgeous sandy beach which is just steps away from the accommodation and loungers/umbrellas are included. To reach the main town you can either walk on the road (uphill and then downhill - takes a while) or just walk along the beach (ten minutes). We did this every night for the 3 nights we stayed and it was perfect for getting to restaurants etc. The restaurants in Santa Maria de Castellabate are also superb!

Review 12:They could serve more fruits for breakfast.

Review 13:The hotel is just 50 meters from the sea and there is no road between the hotel and the beach. The sandy beach is clean and has good umbrellas and sunbeds. Sea water is clean and shining, sea is shallow with sandy bottom, good for small children. The hotel is not new, so some people may put it as a minus, but it does not spoil it. It is decorated with interesting antiques. We had a room with sea view on the 2nd floor. It was not big but had a nice big balcony with tent, and necessary equimpent. Hotel has a big private parking for those who come by car. It is located between 2 small towns that can be reached either by walking on the beach or by the road above the hotel.

Review 14:What a lovely place this was! Just off the main road, but it felt a million miles away. Our top floor room had a view of the sea and treetops, and we woke to the sound of the lapping waves. The staff were all really kind and helpful, and the beach was wonderful - long, quiet and extremely clean. Definitely the one to go for if you want a relaxing stay in this area. We could even walk along the beach (about 1 km) to the restaurants of the town for an evening meal, and although it was dark when we went, we took our torch and felt very safe.

Review 15:Amazing view from the front of the hotel. Its a 5 min walk down the steps to the beach a number of restaurants to a bit of a hidden gem in Amalfi. Much quiter than some of the larger towns but still a lively atmosphere

Review 16:My 16 months old daughter got gastroenteritis! Many parents have had same problem. My brother went to S. Maria di Castellabate (a place I love!!), 5 years ago and got the same "gift" from the location. Nothing against the resort place but the council need to get a grip with this issue!!

Review 17:Great location Good staff Nice complex

Review 18:Comfortable and quiet hotel among shady trees outright near the seaside. Some rooms have wonderful seaview throught the trees crowns directly to the sunset. Absolutely clean beach with fine sand, sunshades and chaise-longues (free of charge for any room). It's ideal place for children. Rooms with balcony are large enough, cleaned daily and equipped with all necessary. Interior with antique details is harmonious and elegant. Good cuisine, tasty Italian supper. Friendly atmosphere - we feels like in family circle. Special thanks to Enzo and Domenico for unforgettable stay in Paradiso.

Review 19:I think this hotel is more suited to families with young children (of which there were plenty). Not a fault of the hotel at all, but as a young couple (without kids) we probably would have been better suited to a different hotel. Noise seemed to travel pretty well through the hotel on a night, and our room was right next to the rather steep hotel driveway so the numerous cars which struggled to get up this could be heard very clearly. We stayed on B&B basis, so went out locally for our meals. You can walk along the beach to the restaurants of quaint little Santa Maria di Castellabate. The walk is breathtaking, with the waves crashing onto the walls of the town in the distance. However, be warned, as the tide came quite far in and we were unable to get back across the beach safely in the dark so had to find our way up to the road, which appeared to have no pavement in places. Again, not a fault of the hotel as such, but it might have been helpful for someone at the hotel to point this out.

Review 20:We stayed at Hotel Paradiso for 3 nights at the end of a busy couple of weeks touring the country. The hotel itself has real charm in the public areas, with interesting artefacts/antiques dotted throughout making it feel really loved by the owners. There's also a couple of large terraces to sit and enjoy the sun – most of the time we had these to ourselves which was great for relaxing and recharging. Our room was adequate, with a small balcony, good wifi connection and icy cold air conditioning. The hotel has private access to a small area of the beautiful beach, which is literally minutes walk from the hotel. It's well maintained, super clean and each guest is allocated a free umbrella, sun lounger and deck chair which was a real bonus. Their beach bar has cold beers and good snacks for lunch. There's plenty of free parking and some lovely freshly baked goods at the breakfast table too.

Review 21:Great hotel. Will definitely book this hotel again whenever visit Italy.

Review 22:The only thing better than the beautiful setting and the friendliness of the staff was the unbelievably & unlimited espresso!

Review 23:Nothing

Review 24:Very friendly and helpful staff and owners. Free loungers on the beach

Review 25:Peaceful

Review 26:The family that owned the hotel and the private beach

Review 27:Badly signposted from road, meagre breakfast, sea barely visible from hotel

Review 28:Beach superb and well looked after

Review 29:Apartment was very musty from being closed during off season. Even aftertwo days to air out there was an odor.

Review 30:Beautiful location on beach within walking distance of two small towns.Very friendly and helpful staff. Extremely clean. Comfortable apartmentfor our family of four. Highly recommended (except off season).

Review 31:That we could only stay 2 nights..!!

Review 32:The staff were exceptionally friendly and welcoming, the hotel is direct on the beach, very clean, easy walk to beautiful un spoilt santa maria de la castalabate, where there are excellent restaurants recommended by Dominico who owns and runs this family hotel. Very beautiful scenery and easy reach of Amalfi coast but without the crowds and ridiculous prices. EXCELLENT..!!!

Review 33:The apartments were never cleaned during our 10 day stay. The apartments were very expensive and not worth 140euro per night

Review 34:I liked the fact that the apartments are right next to the beech.

Review 35:Bathroom rather cramped

Review 36:Staff really helpful Good location on the beach

Review 37:Very friendly Lovely location near the beach very relaxing

Review 38:Very limited breakfast. A long walk from the shops.

Review 39:Great location at the beach. Very relaxing, nice unit. Owners very friendly and welcoming

Review 40:Very friendly and relaxing place. The beach is lovely. It was a nice walk along the beach into town.
