Reviews for at Water's Edge Resort

Review 1:The air-conditions were not cooling the rooms enough especially in the bedrooms. That was the only problem.

Review 2:Friendly staff, the location and accommodates families as well as couples. The pool area is great. The kitchen is a great size.

Review 3:needs some shaded pool area. needs bar facility. needs background music near pool.

Review 4:location was fantastic, easy parking, close to shops, supermarket and eatery.

Review 5:They said they had a Ipod dock, but it was a Ipod dock for the first ever Ipods. Then my clock in my room didn't even have a electric cord attach to it and still they left it out. Also furniture was still there from the 80's. Definitely needs a upgrade.

Review 6:The view was great and staff was nice. Also rooms were big.

Review 7:There was everything to like about the property. Central position; stunning view; great staff; reception went the extra; understated classy apartment; great vibe.

Review 8:After one day of free wi fi a charge of 10 dollars was requested to continue service. For the elderly or wheelchair users there is a very steep hill just before hotel and into the hotel itself.

Review 9:Location is good ,very close to shops and beach . Apartments are large with everything supplied also wonderful views from the sea facing rooms. There is also plenty of private parking. Nice pool area with sun loungers.

Review 10:The rooms should be serviced daily, at least with fresh towels.

Review 11:The hotel is clean and the staff are friendly. The beds are comfortable, aircon works well & I especially like that shampoo, conditioner & body lotion are provided.

Review 12:There was only 1 television and it was in the lounge room would like to see television in the bedrooms

Review 13:The view from our balcony the layout of the unit The location to everything and the staff were very helpful

Review 14:staff don't know how to greet guests, the hotel is not of standards for a 4.5 star hotel

Review 15:I like the location of the hotel because it's not far from shops

Review 16:No one advised there was a limit on the FREE Wifi usage. I was in the middle of an update and it spat me out and was disconnected. If there is a 200MB limit, this should be advised at the time of receiving the voucher

Review 17:Everything except Wifi usage

Review 18:Exquisite ocean views. Perfect location, close to everything-easy walk to restaurants, ocean and a very short walk to supermarket. Beautiful pool. Very comfortable.

Review 19:Room was quite dated and needs freshening up to compete with other newer hotels in the area, and complex in general could do with quite a bit of TLC. Pavers around pool were cracked and pieces stuck to your wet feet.

Review 20:Location is fantastic, an easy walk to all Airlie has to offer. Choice of 3 pools and a spa is awesome.

Review 21:Loud noise every evening up to 10pm from hotel/ entertainment area on main street below room location. No fault of Waters Edge but very annoying..

Review 22:great views and accomodation.

Review 23:Good location, close to town. Great view from the room and pool area. 2 Bedroom, 2 bath apartment perfect for 4 adults and 1 child. Connor was very helpful with recommendations for activities and places to eat!

Review 24:Our booking of a three bedroom apartment was met with two separate rooms. This was rectified for our second night's stay as I stressed that the whole idea of me booking a "three" bedroom apartment was so that we could maximise our time as a family together!

Review 25:Very generous apartment size!

Review 26:Breakfast was supposed to be included but wasn't due to unforeseen circumstances as was explained. However, vouchers of some sort should have been included instead.

Review 27:The views were fantastic. Rooms were comfortable and clean.

Review 28:Lack of parking at the facility Chips in the doors and kitchen counter. Room was outdated Ensuite and main bedroom smelt like septic for the first night Only given one key for room which made it hard if we were going in separate places Reception wasn't open long enough Gym was outdated

Review 29:Location near the Main Street was good

Review 30:Mr personality at the front desk is not a happy Chappy needs to go to hotel school!

Review 31:Loved the pool and gardens. Locations was great really convenient Most trips and tours picked us up.

Review 32:Unit is dated - bathroom had mould on door & was smelly. Quite noisey & I don't think it was good value for the $.

Review 33:Spacious, good shower pressure. Limited sea view from 1st floor unit

Review 34:I don't think it was good value for the money paid. If you wanted to use a towel around the pool you were charged. For the size of the complex there was only 8 pool lounges

Review 35:The location and views from the rooms

Review 36:Resort advertised a restaurant but it was closed and had been for sometime and doesn't look like opening anytime soon, this ment walks up and down steep paths and roads to obtain restaurant food, coffee etc. Sliding door into ensuite bathroom had mould behind door where it slid in or out of wall cavity. There appeared to be no staff on site at night! Vending machine for drinks ( water cool drinks) etc out of service and looks like there was no intention to get going again or restock it. Once again had to go out for necessary items. Disappointing really considering we had seen this resort previously when all facilities were operating believe we did not get value for money spent.

Review 37:A nice spacious unite well maintained, except for mould on door, good position in Airlie Beach and close to facilities except for steep paths and roads if you wanted to walk and not take car every where

Review 38:There was not enough cutlery in the drawers - unit holds 5 beds. Finding 3 forks and 3 knives is annoying, when you invite friends for a meal. As usual, sharp knives never are, but that is a universal issue. No sun lounges on the balcony, although if you wanted one, you had to go down to the pool.

Review 39:The location is fantastic, close to town and easy walk although uphill to the centre of town. The views from our room were amazing.

Review 40:Hot tub

Review 41:i love the location! Perfect!! Picture are deceiving although. Got a two bedroom apartment $360 for the night and the hot tub only fit two people. Very disappointing with that. Staines on the sheets/blanket. Also cooked party pies in the oven no trays and no tongs in the kitchen? Thought it was fully contained? View was perfect! Staff was perfect! Everything else was amazing do full recommend for a couple of a family xx

Review 42:Wifi is ridiculously expensive. Safe box is a nightmare (did not work properly and they had to give me a key) and too small, my laptop did not fit in. My room was supposed to have sea views but could not see anything due to being in ground floor and with all the trees. No one in the reception after 5:30. If you leave your luggage, they put it in the middle of the reception, in an open area where anyone can have access. I asked them to keep my camera in their office and they agreed to do it, though.

Review 43:Location is next to main street, not a noisy area though. Common areas are nice; pool is small but chic. Apartment is big and has all the basics.

Review 44:This cannot be called a resort. In room 5 and 0 view of the ocean due to overgrown trees, even after requesting a high room when booking well in advance. No restauraunt or bar facilities, they have apparently been closed for a while. This was something that is heavily promoted as one of their best features on their website and on booking.com when I made the booking. No wi fi, apparently an aerial was getting fixed, it more felt like they were just too cheap to provide the service. No room service available.

Review 45:The spa on the balcony, until it started to smell after 3 days.

Review 46:the reception area was dark and not inviting. The room was also dark with "yellow" lighting! Toilet paper was of the cheapest variety and to pay $5 for pool towels was not acceptable given the cost of the room and not fitting for a resort! Pool towels to hire down the street were only $2! Will think twice about staying here again.

Review 47:the pool area is lovely

Review 48:Starting to look a bit tired could do with a paint and a toilet update. Otherwise everything was good. The Airconditioner was loud.

Review 49:Location, nice pool and great views.

Review 50:Cleaningness could be better. Small glass pieces were on the ground of the kitchen, my daughter got one in her foot, it was very painful as you can imagine. Additionally we had to clean one of the chairs, as there was a lot of beach sand on it and the cleaning stuff was not available any more. It was not possible to use the dish washer properly, because all the markings on the bottoms were not readable any more. Unfortunately the very nice looking infinity pool was not clean as well, undefined white spots were swimming in it.

Review 51:Nice location and nice view.

Review 52:2nd night of my stay I waited hrs for management to get a locksmith to come and fix a faulty lock on entrance door. I was unable to get into my room, and spent 3hrs waiting for management to resolve the problem.

Review 53:The spa was empty and had holes in it, the air conditioning didn't work very well, the bathtub wouldn't drain so you were standing in a tub of water while you showered. The front reception staff we were rude on all encounters.

Review 54:The view, the room was massive and well laid out, the outside patio/balcony was enormous, the kitchen facilities were awesome, and it had a bar.

Review 55:Airconditioning did not work in the main living area on a very hot weekend. Staff organised maintenance very quickly but were they unable to resolve the problem. Restaurant (and poolside bar) were closed for renovations.

Review 56:Best location at Airlie! Easy to walk to and from the main street with young children.

Review 57:You have to pay $5 to hire pool towel.

Review 58:Swimming pool was very nicely located viewing the beach. Beautiful scenery when its sunny. Room was very clean and comfy. Walking distance to main area of Airlie beach.

Review 59:Had options for check in time 1-2pm, not able to check in until after 2pm was not flexible and was unpleasant in reception. The only bad part of our stay.

Review 60:It was clean, tidy and spacious. Slight sea view due to trees on the first floor. Excellent facitilties with washer and dryer allowing us to wash our clothes. Reasonable price for public holiday rate and short notice only booked that morning for family with 3 children (3,6 & 8).

Review 61:Don't let this hotel organise any transport for you! Air con broke down not repaired while we were there.

Review 62:Swimming pools were very good and the staff were friendly.

Review 63:Wifi wasnt too good, couldnt get internet from the rooms but the staff gave us internet cards for free so cant complain !

Review 64:Location was brilliant, hotel was brilliant, excellent sea views from the rooms, swimming pools and view from the swimming pools were amazing ! Spent 3 weeks in aus travelling up the east coast but could have spent all 3 weeks here !

Review 65:No fans in rooms, remote for air conditioner didn't work. Having to get up into spa for a shower & no shower curtain, water went everywhere. Restaurant closed.

Review 66:Location, very comfy bed, spacious unit, kitchen & laundry facilities, pool

Review 67:We paid for a 1 bedroom apartment when we got there we were giving a studio. We showed the reception what we booked and they said we would have to deal with it because they were fully booked and would not compensate us. We were given a room with white window coverings so expect to be up at the crack of dawn as the room is very bright. We were only given 2 bath towels, no hand towels or no face clothes, I asked for more and front desk said that's all the rooms came with and they did not have extras. I then asked for fresh towels which they also rejected. I then asked for laundry detergent so I could wash the towels he told me it would cost $1/ packet. I would not recommend staying here as you will not get a good sleep because the rooms are so bright the beds are hard and the service is not good. If you are looking for a comfortable relaxing getaway do not stay here.

Review 68:We enjoyed the view from our balcony and the location.

Review 69:sandflies from bed only place I got bitten, so windows open, hope they were sandflies, I carried the scares all week.

Review 70:view elegance position close great

Review 71:Having family over from Ireland, we decided to take them to Airlie for afew days. Booked them into Water's Edge via booking.com 2 adults&2 kids. I had requested late check out as one of the adults is 76& a stroke patient. This was confirmed to me via email, all good. The restaurant in the hotel was closed during the stay ....ok. Hotel itself was clean 2 bed apt, well equipped. Pools very clean. It's notsomewhere you would stay if you have issues walking up hills but havinga car it worked for us. We stayed 2 nights, 1st night no drama. 2Ndnight all he'll broke loose"............. Party goers above usdanced, jumped, moved furniture, blared music until 12:30am thenpresumably went to the club, returned and continued to party @ 3:30am.Rang reception, nothing was done. They eventually passed out but startedup again at 7am. Needless to say not a wink of sleep was had. As we hadlate check out we took kids out to allow our mother (who wasn'tfeeling well from lack of sleep) to sleep on for a few hours. 11Am themanager rang and rudely told me "it's 11am, get out of theapartment, check out is 10am you owe $25" !!!! Told her about latecheck out arranged, no she was having none of it, I read theconfirmation email, to which she replied "that's booking.comnot waters edge I know nothing about it, you owe $25 , vacate the aptNOW", I asked to speak to her manager she shouts "I am theMANGER" and hangs up on me! My confirmation email states thatwaters edge agreed to late check out and states "at no extracost". At the time of booking if asked to pay the extra I wouldhave done but it clearly said no Charge. If you have a break down incommunication with booking.com, that's not my fault. Manager ringsback to say "you can't stay to 12 then get out & hangs upagain." At that point my mother was upset, kids are crying becauselack of sleep, & we left.

Review 72:Leaving!!

Review 73:The lounge area - if property sleeps six adults it should have a lounge suite to accommodate six. 1 room not a/c and got really stuffy If you haven't a car be prepared for a steep climb back up the hill to your room WIFI should be free

Review 74:The beautiful view over the sea The proximity to local shops The spaciousness in our 3 bedroom unit

Review 75:We could not use the 2 top pools over the weekend as it was closed off for a wedding and then sunday lunch. So all kids at the resort were crowded into the bottom pool which could not be seen from our room

Review 76:Comfortable clean, spacious rooms for a family. Close to shops and restaurants. beautiful view

Review 77:There was a carpark outside our room which bought a lot of noise into the room. The spa is good but there was no manual in the room to decipher the buttons. The room was pretty overpriced though.

Review 78:Location is excellent. I didn't eat at the restaurant this time, but I now from previous experience it is good. We had a full jacuzzi type spa outside, which was lovely. Bed is comfortable. Shower is hot. Lovely view.

Review 79:Poor service. We paid top dollar an got poor run down room. As a person that travells a lot for work this was one of the worst stays in the 175.000km I have travelled this uear

Review 80:I'm sorry to stay I did not enjoy the drinking next door delow us at all late into the nite it went

Review 81:Sad to see the empty garden boxes connexted to each terrace, left empty and uncared for, With cigarettstumps and bottletops.

Review 82:Large appartment with great view. Well furnished kitchen, two clean and Nice bathrooms, terrace. Could definitively stayed here longer!

Review 83:Mattress too bouncy Apartment was outdated needs modernising Needs sun loungers on balcony

Review 84:Location to the centre for shops and dining 3 pools View from the balcony Apartment very clean

Review 85:The Waters Edge did not provide a daily replacement linen and we were told that if we needed clean towels we needed to pay a $35 linen fee or wash our own. Not sure if this is such a good thing when on a holiday? The establishment is looking aged and is in need of a freshen up.

Review 86:The location of the Waters Edge is very central to Airlie Beach shops, hotels, restaurants, supermarket and other facilities. This makes it easy to get around the town.

Review 87:I didn't like that my shuttle was not organised to return to the airport even though I already pre warned the staff. Adam, the receptionist made us stand there and wait when we got there while he organised his 30th on the phone. Not impressed. I hated that I didn't have room service to clean my room everyday, with what I paid I would think it was included!?

Review 88:I liked the room I liked the view

Review 89:Resort needs a revamp. We where there for our sons wedding and our room was shoved right away from everyone. Staff were quite rude and it showed they didn't want to be there.

Review 90:Location was handy to everything

Review 91:Spa wasn't as hot as it could be, restaurant not open and doesn't do breakfast. Gardens need maintenance and $5 for hire of a towel was a bit much.

Review 92:Location was fantastic

Review 93:Wifi is baaad.

Review 94:Location is great because airlie beach is not that big so just 10 mins walk to the beach or the harbour.

Review 95:Great view from apartment and very spacious. Also a short walk to the main street in Airlie!

Review 96:Poor WIFI

Review 97:Roomy

Review 98:Very outdated and bad decor...looks like we got time warped back to the 70's

Review 111:Non restaurant nor bar in-house. Neither minibar in the apartment. All shampoo packages in the bath where already used.

Review 112:Excellent view

Review 113:No cleaning of rooms, changing sheets or refilling basic teabag, sugar etc in the 5 nights we stayed

Review 114:Great location

Review 115:wasnt clean uncomfortable lounge not enough soap shampoo and stuff kitchen cleaning products had to buy from woolies

Review 116:the bed was comfortable

Review 117:WIFI should be included as well as pool towels at that rate

Review 118:Lovely rooms, pools, location

Review 119:Great view, nice and generous rooms. Very friendly staff.

Review 120:Theres nothing I could think of even the slightest bit bad.

Review 121:The room was unreal and the service was even better.

Review 123:The location and views are the best in airlie

Review 124:Location and view

Review 125:Apartment needs a upgrade not good at all photos just make it look good
