Reviews for Camping La Focetta Sicula

Review 1:Not much to do in the rain. S. A. Siculo seemed semi closed in late Sept. Few drinking / dining options. (Not La Focetta's fault of course !)

Review 2:Cheap bar. Laundry. Supermarket very close. Good train & bus links. Beach attatched. Well designed self catering cabins.

Review 7:Staff fantastico, molto gentile e simpatico. Il camping è bellissimo: la mobil-home prenotata è risultata super confortevole e completa di tutto. Abbiamo gradito molto anche il barbecue. Consigliatissimo!

Review 8:The staff was really helpful and nice (we even got the playing cards for that night, that we didn't exept to have but really hoped for:)! We also enjoyed the beach, which was just a few steps from the bungalows.

Review 9:wi fi could be stronger

Review 10:About 50 years from the stunning coastline. Supermarket 10 minutes stroll. Silvio is one of a kind, very happy and helpful person, made us feel very welcome. A really relaxing retreat, thank you so much

Review 11:Nothing

Review 12:Owners of the campe site are really kind and gave us many informations what to do in the area. Campe site is quite smal, cabines are really nice and the kitchen is well equiped. Perfect place to stay for visiting Taomino the mountain villages etc. Price is really good, supermarket near by.

Review 13:A very handy place to stay for Taormina, Messina and the north side of Etna. All the staff were friendly and helpful and the mobile home/chalet was clean & comfortable with loads of storage space.

Review 14:- the place was hard to find due to poor signs

Review 15:- located next to the sea - friendly staff - family owned - clean - quiet - 5 min walking distance to the earest bakery

Review 16:We had a mobile and it was perfect everything at hand and the owners very attentive. I would like to stay again sometime very relaxing on the edge of both towns everything you need very affordable

Review 17:The customer service is amazing: every single staff is just lovely and very helpful. The staff is made by the family members who are just great. The location is also pretty convenient, the camping has it own beach with fantastic water. The bungalow is cozy, clean and very functional We really loved our stay. Absolutely to recommend

Review 18:Wi-Fi reception could have been better, but it was adequate most of the time

Review 19:We enjoyed our stay at La Focetta so much that we canceled the next hotel and stayed another week. The camping is run by a family, giving service a nice personal touch. Silvio is a genius of hospitality, working hard to make the guests feel at home, providing help with all sorts of things, from ordering a pizza to renting a car. He speaks pretty good English, which is particularly valuable in a town where most people can only speak Italian. Silvio's sister Melinda is also very friendly and helpful. We stayed in a very comfortable mobile home, which is actually a kind of bungalo with three rooms (two bedrooms, a kitchen and a toilet with a shower) and a spacious veranda with a table, four chairs and two deck chairs. The kitchen had all the basics we needed to cook meals, including a large refrigerator, sink with hot running water and gas cooker, as well as plates, silverware, pans etc. Anything else you need can be bought for a few euros in a household goods store nearby. There is also a discount supermarket a few minutes' walk from the camping site, as well as two bakers' shops and other shops. The train station can easily be reached on foot (tickets for the train must be bought in a nearby tobacco shop, which turned out a bit tricky to find). The bus stop from which you can go to Taormina is also close by. There are a number of restaurants serving delicious (and varied) food within comfortable walking distance. The camping site is located right on the seashore, with a short staircase leading right to the beach. It is worth noting that the strip of the beach adjoining the camping site is usually much less populated than that in the neigboring town, giving you more breathing space. The water was very clean, though a bit cool for our liking. It was getting warmer when we were leaving around the middle of July.

Review 20:The beach is not mabye the one best for the small kids: stones and deep very quick, on top of it jelly-fish is nothing unique in that part of the coast, so better to have anti-alergic medicine.

Review 21:Fantastic location for exploring the North-East part of Sicily. Family: Melinda, Silvio and Papa, they do all efforts to make sure the stay is comfortable, are very helpfull. We looked at other campings around and this is far the best when comes to quality. We had a mobile home, good equipped. Also the company of Italian guests on weekends is charmy change to a quiet week-days. But all kind of laud and happy activities are finishing midnight. The home made icream done by Papa needs to be tried. Very, very good WIFI. Have all of you a good stay!

Review 22:People were very friendly and polite. Mobile house had a very nice sea view.

Review 23:The owners were very helpful and friendly

Review 24:Staff is really kind and caretaking, we were really satisfied!

Review 25:- Saturday evening disco

Review 26:- relaxed atmosphere - access to the beach - one of the few places where Wifi was really working - really helpful staff

Review 27:A közelben zajló építkezés.

Review 28:Mindennel felszerelt nagyon tiszta apartman nagyon segítőkész személyzettel.

Review 29:Cleanliness and great atmosphere

Review 30:very surprised as to how cold the sea was - not that the campsite can do much about that of course!!

Review 31:a nice quiet campsite on the beach, with very well stocked mobile homes so you could eat in comfortably. Very secure. nice bar with big screen tv for watching football

Review 32:what can i say.... one of the best places we have stayed in italy and the cheapest one! staff and especially silvio are amazing ... we wanted stay for 2 weeks but had to keep on moving :)

Review 33:Entry road to campground looks a bit neglected, but that`s not responsibility of the owners. Beach could be cleaner - but still attractive.

Review 34:Comfortable family owned smaller size campground with helpful and very nice staff. Mobile homes well equipped (although microwave would be nice). Location right at the sea side with crystal clean water. Shops and village at walking distance.

Review 35:Camping is very comfortable, everything`s there: internet, AC, kitchen and has great location 20 m to the sea and 7 km from Taormina. Staff is very friendly and professional. I can fully recommend this place to everybody who wants to spend great time on Sicily!

Review 36:I loved it! Very nice staff, especially Silvio, who told us all about the neighborhood and advised delicious restaurant. Beach nice and clean. Good place to see Taormina Savoka, Etna. Just a good place to rest directly on the sea.

Review 37:The location was perfect, by the sea and what a sea. Crystal clear and perfect for swimming. Ameneties on site were adequate and also a cheap supermarket or shops, bars etc in S.Alessio were a couple of minutes walk away. The beach wasn't too busy but if you needed hustle and bustle you could walk a couple of minutes either way along the beach and you'd be in Sant'Alessio or Furci. The staff were genuine, friendly and helpful and went out of their way to help in any way they could whilst not imposing on your privacy . The accomodation suited us perfectly, we stayed in one of the chalets. Sea view, sound of the sea..... Perfect. Would defenitely stay here again. Sant'Alessio was perfect for us. It has hotels and tourists but is not spoilt by tourism. The beaches are not too busy but they are not too quiet and you mix with the local people who are friendly and happy to help. It is also a good base for visiting places nearby such as Mount Etna, Taormina, Savoca, Messina, Mazzaro and Isola Bella to name but a few.

Review 38:The camping is in a nice enviroment, just a few meter from the beautiful beach. We were in mobile home, which was superb. It was calm set up with every usefull things, also with a good kitchen, furniture and nice, big, intimate porch with sea view. The camping is a nice start place to discover the island, the bus stop is just a few minutes and the railway station is also not so far, and the beautiful city, Taormina is just cirka 20 minutes. Shop is in the near, and you can find good place for pizza also in a few minutes. The family is very friendly, Silvio can help everything what you need, he is very thoughtfull and nice. On sundays there is a little party for the host of the camping and others, it is very intimate and italianate. We enjoy staying in La Focetta very much, we absolutly recommend it!!

Review 39:could do with a larger cabin or two for the larger families.Pool would be great for small children, when the sea is cold.

Review 40:Excellent friendly staff, helpful advice on the local attractions.Very accomodating.Nice family run business.Close to beach and attractions.

Review 41:Beautiful houses 20m from beach. Very helpful staff gave us advices which places to visit, where to park,... Recommended for families with children. Good position to make day trips to Etna, Tindari, Bronte, Catania, Taormina. Delicious croissants with creme and chocolate in the bar!

Review 42:Right on the beach, bungalows are not big but very comfortable and clean, lot of space for kids to play and the staff was extremely friendly and helpful. We loved the place.

Review 43:The bathroom in our mobile home was even smaller than we were expecting. The shower could of done with a little TLC and a good scrub but apart from that, lovely!

Review 44:Loved being able to walk 30 seconds and be on the lovely clean beach. The beach was quiet too. The campsite was very well maintained and the staff were amazing and very friendly. The mobile home we stayed in was the closest to the beach and sitting out on the decking with a beer listening to the waves crashing in doesn't get boring! We enjoyed our stay and would definitely come again.

Review 45:There is a wire fence between the camp and the beach which is fairlyunattractive to look at. The beach in winter at least is not very clean.

Review 46:The camping trailers are in great condition and very clean. It is evencomfortable in the cold season. The family that runs the camp is veryfriendly. Wifi signal is very good in the campsite and the proximity toTaormina is great.

Review 47:Super friendly owners. Very helpful with all our questions with regards to the area surrounding the camping. Got a bottle of sparkles on 31st December!! Trailer was clean and quite spacious as far as trailers go. Perfect kitchen, good heater. Great location, we were right on the sea front! Was a fab experience :)

Review 48:Very friendly and helpful staff. Good location, clear sea, supermarket nearby. Delicious granita.

Review 49:The staff were really nice and helped with everything we needed they made my birthday weekend better.

Review 53:Silvio was very helpful and recommended us among others the best restaurant we have visited in Sicily

Review 54:The rooms are a little bit narrow but acceptable

Review 55:Good location near the beach With BBQ and a supermarket nearby. Very friendly and helpful staff.

Review 56:Very friendly staff and clean bungalows.
