Review 1：This hotel grew on us - initially we were disappointed, the view was incredible but the hotel was very old style - dark furniture and dark tiles everywhere. As the days went by (we had 6) we realised we were warming to the laid back atmosphere, the fantastic access to swimming in beautiful sea water and that view never failed! Sadly the bed didn't get any more comfortable! Overall we would recommend Carasco as a great choice from which to explore the islands but also enjoy beautiful peaceful surroundings. The staff were very helpful, the shuttle bus service was great.

Review 4：We didn't expect four star accommodations based on other reviews of this property...and we're not very picky about not having things fit for a king...but the beds in this hotel were absolutely the worst we have ever experienced in all of our travels. Rock hard mattresses and pillows to match. I didn't think you could buy a pillow that unyielding. They get a zero in comfort from our family.

Review 5：There was nothing more spectacular than sitting in a lounge chair and taking in the beautiful coast line of Lipari. We booked this hotel based on the photographs of the sea. And we were not disappointed in that respect. This hotel does need a face lift, however. I had read on another review that the furnishings and decor were straight out of the 70's and they were true to that description. They rooms are sparsely furnished and need a make over. What the hotel lacked in amenities it made up for with the quality of the people that work there. The staff was incredibly accommodating and friendly and the rooms were very clean. Breakfast was very good with a wide variety of pasteries, meats, cheeses and beverages. The hotel lacked any real menu for poolside snacking, however, aside from beverages and a few small plates. This was disappointing as there was no where else to eat because the hotel restaurant did not serve lunch. It was a long time between breakfast and dinner unless you took the shuttle into town for a mid day meal.

Review 8：The hotel felt understaffed and the staff was not especially helpful; perhaps they were overworked. Seemed the hotel had fallen on tough times. The walk into town wasn't too bad - about 15 mins, but in hindsight, we would have been better off right in town.

Review 9：Hard to argue with the location as it is right on the water and had incredible views. Pool was great but pretty crowded and rowdy. I booked this place because of those steps into the Mediterranean - we did swim from there but lounge chairs were taken early.

Review 13：Awesome location! Close enough to to town for a leisurely walk. Christian bends over backwards to help, accommodate and support. This is an Italian family hotel and not a international chain hotel, that is a huge positive! The saltwater pool is always pristinely clean, that it's beautiful is clear from the pics. The food in the restaurant was incredible ! I am vegetarian and had a great selection Although most of the guests were Italian there was a nice international mix

Review 16：It was a bit of a walk from the village. The free shuttle bus only ran until 8pm which meant taxis home (€10). For the price I paid for a superior room I would have expected a double bed (and not two singles pushed together). Breakfast was very average and I was particularly disappointed by the lack of fresh fruit when the local produce is so delicious, tinned fruit at these prices is not good enough.

Review 17：The views of both the sea and the village were wonderful. The pool was lovely and big and the hotel wasn't too crowded. The hotel restaurant was good but a lighter menu option for lunch would have been nice for those who didn't want to do the three course option. Wifi was only available in reception but it actually made it easier to relax. Hotel itself was lovely, clean and comfortable but not luxury.

Review 18：The mattress in our twin room was so old that the springs were protruding with only the mattress cover stopping them from making contact with your skin. When brought to the attention of the front reception they were most helpful. The housekeeping supervisor however was very cross and disbelieving insisting that we go back to the room and prove that there was a problem and even when shown the mattress was extremely reluctant to address the problem. The shuttle bus driver was rude and unhelpful and changed the finishing time of the evening shuttle seemingly dependent upon how he felt even though the front reception staff said it was available until 9.30 pm.

Review 19：The view, the pool and ocean terrace were amazing. The front reception staff during the day were extremely helpful. The rooms were a generous size and the bathrooms were beautifully decorated and well resourced.

Review 21：Due to the timing of our stay at the end of the season, it seemed like we had our own private hotel! Perched atop the sea it is a stunning location with access to the water if your inclined! Away from the hustle and bustle of town but just a short journey when you wish! Christian was an obliging host with tips on day excursions, transport and hotel options back on Sicily and shuttling us to town when necessary! A great place to refresh ourselves!

Review 22：This was our second stay at The Carasco Hotel.We had previously stayed there nine years ago and it did not disappoint us this time around. It goes without saying that the location of the hotel is the best on the island. We found the staff welcoming and very friendly, eager and available to help when we needed a ride into town, a restaurant suggestion or making arrangements for excursions. I would highly recommend this hotel to anyone visiting Lipari.

Review 24：I agree with the comments from other guests - old-style hotel in a beautiful hillside location overlooking the sea, with helpful reception staff. There is a good shuttle bus service, but not so easy to get one back BUT there is a local bus you can get from the main port area, which leaves about every half-hour from a kiosk signed 'servizzi spiaggi' and it will drop you right outside the hotel above the main entrance.

Review 27：This hotel is in a beautiful location about a 10 minute walk from town. So not for those who prefer to be in the centre. However, the view from our balconey was stunning and we decided all the walking helped work off all those extra Gelato calories!! There is also a frequent shuttle bus to and fro the hotel and town.We are already planning our next visit.

Review 58：It relies on its position rather than good service. Everything is an extra not a pleasure. The restaurant has lovely views but only adequate food. Appallingly mean portions of ice-cream. Shabby furniture. Uncomfortable sunbeds. Dreadful piped music in the bar. Dangerous unsupervised rocky beach area totally unsuitable for children. Without doubt a hotel that needs a huge management shake-up. It's living on past glories.

Review 62：* the food - the only 4 star thing about it was the price! not up to standard. slow service and cold pasta. most other guests felt the same. * wi-fi very unreliable and patchy. consistent drop-outs and signal loss. poor distribution, forcing guests to sit in reception area to get any kind of signal. good wi-ifi coverage is no longer an optional extra, especially for hotels in this price range.
