Reviews for Galea Farm House

Review 1:Food a bit pricey for an agriturismo

Review 2:Outdoor play area for kids and something for the adults too. Nice views and surrounding gardens. Good breakfast selection.

Review 3:riposto is a bit of a dump really and in october the restaurants are a bit run down. the sea front is not particularly accessible the place is a maze around there and we easily got lost in the car. that and a couple of days of rain meant there were many many mosquitos, so a few itchy evenings and doors closed meant that it could have been better.

Review 4:we loved this place in everyway , the room was clean and well kept. the place was beautifully maintained . the facilities there were excellent for kids. a magnificent pool are and a great dining experience. a few negatives does not ruin how we felt, as the trip up mount etna was fabulous and enlightening if a little scary at times.

Review 5:Not bad, but the whole experience would be even nicer with a nice breakfast consisting of more local, organic produce. Like bread, jams etc...

Review 6:Rooms where super nice with a great atmosphere. Living in the middle of lemon garden certainly added to that experience.

Review 7:I booked for 2 superior rooms and when we arrived they had booked a 1 room superior and another 1 km away their answer was because we made too many changes. We wasted a couple of hours and they admitted that they had people that had booked for a week so obviously it was more money for them. I didn't like their attitude. They did offer us a free meal but we sort of pushed them to it. We did not take the free meal we were very disappointed with the service that we didn't want to try anything else they offered. The agriturismo is not really an Agriturismo you hear cars, smell pollution and we were woken up by builders at 7 am.

Review 8:The room was very clean and breakfast was good.

Review 9:Bed extremely uncomfortable. No hot water (or even tepid water) for 3 days. It rained very heavily every day and it would have been nice to have a hot shower when we arrived back each evening.

Review 10:The staff were all very nice and freindly. The evening meals were very good.

Review 11:Although the overall location of the agriturismo is quite good (eg for exploring the Etna, Taormina or Catania), the fact that our room was about 1 km away from the main building was a disadvantage as we either had to take car or walk along a public road to the restaurant/pool.

Review 12:Excellent pool with nice surrounding and beautiful view towards the Etna. We had full dinner on 2 evenings and a light one on the last day and the food was always very good with excellent wine recommendations going along with it.

Review 13:There is nothing here we didn't like!

Review 14:The location is fantastic! In the middle of the nature with view on the Etna and close to the beach! It is a very relaxing atmosphere. Great swimming pool, perfect rooms, great staff and very helpfull in english, excellent food! We certainly can recommand this place and we will certainly return here

Review 15:Directions to the farmhouse weren't good and we had an issue with the tiny ants which were everywhere! On the floor, in the shower, on the bed, crawling up your legs at dinner.... Not sure how they could sort this problem but it does need addressing.

Review 16:We liked the country location, pool, views of Etna and local food! Pool and communal areas were lovely. The food was very nice and reasonably priced for dinner. We had a lovely family room with modern bathroom.

Review 17:The property has 2 departements. One near the main building And restaurant / swimmingpool. The other quite far away across the road. If you travel with children take care that you're room is situated near the mail building. The accomodation is more suitable for families with younger children. We found the rooms very basic And no good value for money. There is a small friidge in the room but it is very small And not very cold. Although there were ants in the rooms And the bathrooms, the were clean. Some rooms have a place to sit outside but ours didn't. The breakfast was ok but the same even day, no variation.

Review 18:Galea farm house has a very nice garden And also a nice restaurant. The food is good, though we found it quite expensive. The staff that works in the restaurant is very attentive and kind.

Review 19:Need to put agriturismo galea in satnav to find it easily.

Review 20:Beautiful setting, great pool and facilities, wonderful restaurant and food, super helpful, friendly staff.

Review 21:Difficult access to restaurant and pool. A small shuttle for on call transfers would be a big improvement for guests without cars.

Review 22:Beauty of buildings, gardens, restaurant and pool area. Included breakfast was a plus. Staff was extremely gracious.

Review 23:Internet not good. Lots of mosquitoes (due to trees I guess, not their fault). No cooking facilities(kettle only). They would provide you with cups/knives/plates/bottle opener no problem if you asked, but that ment asking every time you wanted a coffee. Our fridge did nt work properly. We did tell them but it was nt fixed. The pool could have been cleaner.

Review 24:The place itself was set right in a huge lemon/orange grove(my husband enjoyed picking his fill of these). Very pretty Sicilian style accommodation. We had a superior room which was near the pool and restaurant. The main girl running this accommodation speaks very good english. Mt.Edna is in view from this property. Very quiet here. We used the free bikes the first day to cycle around the nearby town. Plenty of food for breakfast. During our travels we got confused with the toll system and the (lady )chef working there kindly went to the post office and paid this for us.

Review 25:The room was a bit dark and basic, and the food was OK but not great.

Review 26:The staff, the location, the busy atmosphere. The pool was lovely, as were the surrounding lemon groves. Fabulous backdrop of Etna and a view of the sea at the end of the drive. Fun things to do - ping pong, subbuteo etc. Handy for Catania airport.

Review 27:The room we were in,economy, nr 13, was in a different part across the road which was to busy to cycle along and very noisy at night. So it is better to stay in the main part of the estate.

Review 28:The atmosphere was nice, the staff very friendly and helpful. The food in the restaurant was good. It is unusual to stay in a lemon grove. Lovely view of Mount Et a.

Review 29:I live in Dubai so it's mostly desert. My boys enjoyed running around the lemon trees and the fresh air was amazin. Download google map on ur phone it helps a lot

Review 30:The farm owner and personnel were very friendly and helpful; very tasty food; pleasant location in the lemon farm - very green, everything is clean and tidy; 30 km to Etna (but takes approx. 1 hour drive).

Review 31:Getting there and around is pretty hard if you don't have a car.

Review 32:Very nice and clean B&B in the middle of a lemon grove, flowers everywhere and very close to the sea side. Beautiful view of Mount Etna.

Review 33:Pool and restaurant not in same location of standard rooms!! 2-3 minutes by car....good thing still accessable to standard rooms guests...

Review 34:Very nice place. Good breakfast. Good restaurant. Although close to center very tranquil environment...

Review 35:Will definitely return but will book a superior room as standard rooms are about one km away by car from the main building and pool although breakfast is prepared in the same compound were rooms are located.

Review 36:Good location to visit Etna and the surroundings. Helpful staff, breakfast and a la carte restaurant very good.

Review 37:Only that we couldn't stay longer to more fully enjoy all the facilities..........

Review 38:Set in a citrus grove this was a great resting place with a restaurant providing a varied dinner menu of excellent & inexpensive food. Rooms were very spacious and spotless. Breakfast was plentiful and tasty.

Review 39:- Phonic isolation between the rooms is not optimum

Review 40:- The location is just wonderful and well located for people wanting to discover eastern coast of Sicilia (under the condition to have a car) - Personnel is always available and ready to help - Restaurant on location

Review 41:Very peaceful setting in lemon grove.Good swimming pool.Secure parking.Excellent breakfast.Restaurant on site very good plenty of variety and reasonably priced.Car required.

Review 42:Our room was no.22 It was nice to have garden tables and chairs but we would have liked the use of sun loungers also

Review 43:The spacious room and lovely quiet outdoor area All staff very pleasant and helpful

Review 44:English spoken, amazing views, good location, good food , everything you could want on a holiday .cant fault the place and such friendly staff, all of them . thank you for making our stay so easy and good luck to Elizebetta on her future with her english hubby to be

Review 45:The surrounding area of riposto and glare isn't very beautiful and the traffic is hideous, but you can completely escape from it in the lovely oasis of Galea.

Review 46:Galea is situated in a quiet lemon orchard with stunning views if mt Etna from the pool. The staff were all very kind and friendly they make an effort to speak English, but I didn't mind practising Italian! The pool is gorgeous. Food was good, we ate in the restaurant in the evening 3 times out if our 5 day stay and all of the meals were delicious! Breakfast is nice with lots of homemade cakes and pastries on offer.

Review 47:It was hard to find, off the beaten track and Risotto is not a pretty little village, but it is close to Taormina.

Review 48:It's a lovely farm setting, quiet, set back in among lemon trees, beautiful pool, delicious, reasonable food at restaurant.

Review 49:The fruit flies but we understood we were at a citrus grove

Review 50:The food was excellent and Cencia was personable hard working and fun to chat with

Review 51:Beautiful, peaceful setting. The restaurant served local food and was excellent.

Review 52:Lots of ants about the pool and patios

Review 53:Excellent staff, friendly welcoming and helpful. Great restaurant and food. Clean rooms and public ares.

Review 54:Everything is amazing in this farmhouse! The staff, service, good food, nice pool and comfort place for children!

Review 55:Location; not too much too see nearby.

Review 56:Clean and nice staff

Review 57:Outstanding food ( best pasta I ve ever had ). Great rooms. Nice pool. Very friendly owner and staff.cool view on Etna. We would book again for sure.

Review 58:Slightly outside of the city so you'll need your car to go anyware.

Review 59:Very nice pool. Nice surrounding with lemon trees.

Review 60:Nice setting with Etna on the back. The rooms are large and clean. It's a pleasure to walk through the orchard of lemons.

Review 61:molto molto gentile il personale, in una location speciale. solo un po' difficile da trovare la prima volta.

Review 62:Standard rooms are not on same site as main facilities

Review 63:Lovely location

Review 64:The dinner was okay, but can be improved more

Review 65:Peaceful environment

Review 66:Clean, peaceful, playground and bikes for kids, food also really good.

Review 67:Good restaurant for dinner. Very good location for Etna.

Review 68:Beautiful place, wonderful people + food.

Review 69:it is far from the bus stop and the buses are not reliable.

Review 70:very peaceful place .

Review 71:Pleasant and quiet place for a rest after day long trip.

Review 72:The location

Review 73:Perfect place, friendly staff, beautifull surroundigs and a good restaurant. A top spot to enjoy your holiday!

Review 74:Beautiful location, not far away from the sea, Etna in sight, good food, parking places, very quiet.

Review 75:There is no WiFi connection in the rooms.

Review 76:The food was delicious. The surroundings are tranquil and serene with fruit trees and flowers. The pool was wonderful.

Review 77:1. The food was excellent, little pricey for the quantity served. 2. Needed little more lighting in the rooms.

Review 78:Overall the experience was nice. The kids really enjoyed the small play area and the pool. Staff was helpful and courteous. We could easily cover North and South of the Ionian coast, with wonderful views of Mt. Etna and fabulous feeling of living on a farm.

Review 79:Leaving !

Review 80:- Location: a few minutes from the sea and an hour from the top of the Etna. - The staff: nice and very welcoming. - The farm house itself sorrounded by lemon, orange and cherry trees. - The breakfast: excellent with a good variety of hand made cakes and fresh fruit juices. - The view: you can see the mount Etna (even when it was erupting!) - The atmosphere: relaxing and quiet.

Review 81:Not in Riposto centre, but at a few km from there. Hard to find without gps. Rodents being active, gnowing, and making a lot of noise all night long .... Staff is aware of this problem (lasting for 2 years, they said)! No fresh towels, even after 3 days. No wifi in the rooms, only at the main building. Food is ok but little choice in menu.

Review 82:Clean comfortable rooms. Nice playground near the main building.

Review 83:A minor thing. While our room was lovely it was the nearest to the restaurant so pretty much everyone walked by it so we tended to keep the shutters closed on the doors for some privacy but higher up windows could be opened for light.

Review 84:We received a very friendly welcome with cold drinks which were appreciated after our drive. We had chosen a room near the centre of the site rather than a slightly cheaper one which was quite distant from the core facilities - and we were glad we did, especially when we ran for dinner (all 15 yards!) in a deluge of rain when a spectacular thunderstorm passed overhead one night. The food was superb and a reasonable price and we felt no need to find off-site places to eat; the restaurant staff were very friendly and welcoming. The site is set in a big organic lemon grove in the shadow of Etna and a beautiful sunset over the volcano one evening is hard to forget. The room was airy and clean with a nice bathroom. There was plenty of on-site parking and the gates closed at night making it very secure (all guests had keys). The pool looked lovely and if we hadn't been off sight-seeing we would have got some use out of it. The centre offered local tourist guide options but we did it ourselves, having a hire car, and found no problems - other than finding our way through the local town's road system! Our stay has made me start looking at other agriturismo centres.

Review 85:very hard to find , didn't show up on the sat nav, ended up with local police bringing us there, one way to make an entrance. the main house is better if you haven't got a car or have small children as the annex where we were is 1km down the main road so a car is needed to go between each place. as its a fruit farm there is a lot of insects so lots of bites.

Review 86:the farm house is very well designed with great gardens and a pool. the food was very good and the staff very friendly.

Review 87:No international channels on TV

Review 88:This is well maintained property. Clean and comfortable. But please note that it consists of 2 parts, about 1 km apart, both in lemon tree garden. When booking, ask for the main part, because it has a poll and restaurant. The dinners at the restaurant are very good and very reasonably priced.

Review 89:There was nothing much to complain about. Would have liked to have the shower water next to the pool warm.

Review 90:We enjoyed our stay tremendously. It was good value for money and in a good location for the places we wanted to visit. The children liked best the games available and the pool. We liked the citrus groves. Food at the restaurant was delicious. We will definitely go back.

Review 91:The breakfast was poor: the bread and the croissants were really dry. The room was very basic and not a lot of direct sunlight. It is a pity that they do not exploit the full potential of the property (lemons).

Review 92:There was a nice view at the Etna mountain. The property looks really nice, surrounded by lemon trees. The swimming pool was clean and had a bar as well. We enjoyed the dinners at the restaurant, next to our room. Our baby could sleep on time, while we could have a relaxing evening!

Review 93:We stayed in the property away from the main area. I was surprised that it was actually further than I thought and was across the road and someway down the road from the main site. I didn't particularly like this and was glad that we had a car to take us back and forward. I think that I was expecting just to walk through the grounds. This was also not a typical agriturismo experience when it came to dining. The food at the restaurant was really good but I am used to having a more limited choice and being taken out of my comfort zone to try foods that I have never had before and are more typically sicilian. To be honest its not really a criticism, just an observation.

Review 94:A lovely room, very quiet and comfortable. A lot of attention to detail. Lovely restaurant, good food, good breakfast and very friendly helpful staff. A very relaxing place to stay. Florantina who looked after us was wonderful.

Review 95:pity that outside galea residence, while walking in the city center you ll notice alot of garbage not collected

Review 96:place is fantastic with very good food and wonderful views. very helpful staff

Review 97:As with the rest of Sicily, driving through the village close by was difficult, made worse by the tons of garbage piled high along the streets. Obviously not the fault of Galea, but off-putting for tourists.

Review 98:Paradise! Set in an exquisite setting of citrus groves and brilliant flowers. Rooms are in former stone farm buildings brought up to a very high standard. Comfortable and attractive. Staff were friendly and helpful. Food was delicious and bountiful.

Review 99:Pool too far away from room

Review 100:internet only in the restaurant

Review 101:all was beautiful, kind hosts

Review 102:They should do more with the fruits growing on their land, why not on the menu?

Review 103:Nice place

Review 104:The town of Riposto doesn't have much going for it.

Review 105:Resort like facility on a farm. Very nice people, great food and rightnear Mt. Etna.

Review 106:a bit hard to find restaurant charges

Review 107:this is the second time good place to stay good starters for food will be back

Review 108:Everything.... food, rooms and very friendly

Review 109:no hot water 1 night, minor as it was fixed by morn.

The Fine Print

Please note that all standard rooms are located in a building 0.6 miles from the restaurant and swimming pool.
