Review 1：Beautiful buildings, grounds, and sparkling clean pool. Within walking to port if you don't have luggage. Staff was helpful and friendly. It would be a great place to stay and use as a base for excursions to the other islands.

Review 2：the wiFi experience is pretty bad, especially in the rooms - if there is one thing that could improve my confidence about taking time off to be in Lipari, it is a better connection. Breakfast has way too much sweet stuff for Northern Europeans.

Review 6：The wifi is very poor (none in the rooms) Breakfast can be improved: they were running out of basics (like yogurt or croissants) very quickly. Also they charge an extra €4 for a fresh orange juice which one would expect to be included as a staple. The pedestrian shortcut path that leads into town is useful but too dark at night making it scary if you are on your own. Toiletries in the bathroom were very poor - for the price paid(€220/night for a garden-view room) one would expect better ones

Magnificent views, extremely friendly and very competent staff, excellent rooms (both very clean, functional, spacious and with a great view), great services offered (like scooter hire, shuttle to bring your bags to the port etc.) and fun pool. The bathtub in our room had a jacuzzi function. Best breakfast I ever had.

Review 12：The beds are a bit hard and the restaurant took an hour to bring us our dinner however, they did compensate us a beverage for the wait.

Review 13：They picked us up from the port almost immediately, friendly staff, nice room, nice pool, great drinks, great location, and reasonably priced. We stayed in a king sized bed and enjoyed our (one night) stay.

Review 14：Pool was cold although they say it's a year round pool. Breakfast was marginal. We wanted to leave a day early in our 5 day stay and said so the 2nd day and they would not work with us and charged us the entire stay, we left anyway. Lesson learned if that's a policy of the property consider why.

Review 16：My partner and I stayed at the hotel in mid-April and were forced to have luke-warm showers. Despite numerous calls to staff, we were promised each time that the water would be hot in 10 mins only for it still not to warm-up. In addition, the wifi doesn't work in the hotel rooms but only in the communal areas.

Review 17：The flashing light on the smoke detector was annoying when trying to get to sleep. The TV wasn't great but who goes on holiday to sit in a room watching TV - not me!

Review 33：The garden of Hotel Bougainville certainly lived up to its name. Our balcony with its view of the Mediterranean and the ancient fort was a lovely spot to relax. The hotel is just a short walk along a back road to the waterfront. If you are lucky you may meet one of Lipari's famously friendly cats.The hotel staff was very helpful, offering directions and arranging rentals in many languages.

Review 61：I agree with an earlier reviewer, the staff are extremely welcoming and helpful. The facilities are honest, clean and there is elbow-room, which is not always the case in Lipari. One should not forget that this is an island which 40 years ago hardly had any running water, paved roads and the tourist trade was mostly "alternative" so not bothered with comfort. But the Bougainville shows just how much progress has been made. It is a little oasis in a far-away sun-drenched island so don't expect Maui or Ibiza standards!:-)

Review 63：The hotel has a great, relaxing feel. Most rooms have an outdoor patio to enjoy the view from. The room and bathroom was large enough for 3 of us. The shuttle was convenient, but walking is also possible if you don't mind 15 minutes to the center.

Review 64：The hotel is beautiful, in a great location just above the main town on Lipari. Good internet unlike most hotels in Italy. The staff was wonderful, when our ferry to Naples was cancelled they helped us arrange transport to Catania airport, and then helped us change it all again after the second ferry was cancelled after we'd already checked out. My partner proposed to me on the jetty in Lipari so will definitely be back, and would stay at Hotel Bougainville again.
