Reviews for Idea Hotel Milano Centrale
Review 1:rooms are too small ; I ask 3 times for cushion ,every time sad within 5 to 10 minutes , but finally not arrived , and I have made a booking for 2 nights, unfortunately I had an accident and I must return home , I have cancel my second night upon arrival ,but they charged 2nd night 100% , they sad this is the policy !!!!!!!!!!
Review 2:I love Milan
Review 3:The room was small (not like uncomfortable but more space would be preferable), no waredrobe and clothes' drawer
Review 4:Excellent location, very clean, very good breakfast nicely served, free wi-fi access, modern design
Review 5:There is no ramp at the entrance which is odd considering everyone is trying to carry luggage into the lobby. There is only one small small elevator which fit only myself, my boyfriend. It can become very very busy making it hard to be able to take your luggage up and down in a timely fashion. The showers. The first time I stayed here I was given a handicap bathroom which had no shower stall just a drain in the center of the floor. However the water left the tile and went all the way past the door into my bedroom to the foot of my bed. This time I was pleased to see that my bathroom had a shower, however, there was only a glass partition that covered half and only a hint of a tub to catch the water. It looked stylish but was completely impractical since there was no way to close off the shower from spraying and releasing water onto the floor of the bathroom. I tried my hardest but the bathroom became a pool. Quite easily the Idea Hotel has the WORST ideas around bathroom design.Check in was at 2PM even tho I requested 11AM at my time of booking. There is free wifi but it is quite slow. The bed only came with 2 pillows (1 per person) and during booking I had requested there be an additional two because I needed the elevation for my back. This is my second stay here and I am hoping that this will be my last. One of the Front Desk Staffers - the gentleman who works overnight - has been EXTREMELY rude on both occasions. He not only refuses to look me in the eye, but also makes a point to barely utter a word or verbally communicate as little as possible, out of shade and malice whenever asked a question. He originally checked me in during my first stay and I thought maybe he was having a bad night. 3 weeks later I was handled so wonderfully by the woman who works the daytime/early evening shift which made this passive aggressive, depressive behavior from this gentleman seem even more unacceptable.
Review 6:The location is convenient. The woman working daytime at the Front Desk was so pleasant and friendly. Fluent in both English and Italian. There is a free breakfast with a few decent options.
Review 7:The wifi speed was slightly disappointing. Having stayed in Milan, we know that the internet speed is great, therefore we weren't able to understand why the speed wasn't that good in our room.
Review 8:The location is just a a few steps from the Centrale Station which makes it a great hotel for transit travellers like us. The check-in and check out were extremely fast.
Review 9:staff appeared disinterested breakfast was a problem - broken coffee machine, lack of plates, generally dismissive. A lot of cake but very little else.
Review 10:location
Review 11:I stay at 601. The wall is needed to be renovated as it's rotted. I felt quite disgusted.
Review 12:Location is great ! , the breakfast line is opened very early with various things to eat.
Review 13:Wifi was horrible....Sooooo slow and HAD to login with a unique ID and password (that you had to obtain from reception) each day. The wifi was ridiculously slow to the point that even checking email was nearly impossible. It wasn't just us or our devices either. Many, many other guests were complaining about the wifi as well. The employees at reception were rude and seemed bothered every time we had a question or required the wifi password. The rooms are VERY tiny and don't offer much in the way of value. The breakfast was ok but the staff was very rude and took forever to provide waiting guests with clean plates, bowls and silverware. This hotel was horrible. I highly recommend that you don't stay here. I have been traveling Europe for 3 months and have stayed in dozens of hotels and this is by far the worst. 1/10.
Review 14:The hotel is close to the train station. The maids did a good job of cleaning the rooms. The breakfast was ok.
Review 15:'Triple' room too small for three. No lift to 7th floor and loud noises from kitchen vents/air conditioners (and little sleep as a result); unhelpful staff when seeking a solution to noise problem; limited power points; dark bathroom. Avoid room 701 if you need a peaceful rest.
Review 16:Only positives: price; proximity to station; buffet breakfast; and it was clean.
Review 17:Unfriendly staff (impolite), no heater in the room, water leaking from the shower area
Review 18:The location and the size of the room. The breakfast is excellent.
Review 19:Rude breakfast staff, tacky bathroom, held together by threads, double bedroom needs double luggage racks
Review 20:Location to station, very helpful, friendly check in Staff, comfortable beds
Review 21:had room with no shower base and so when you shower water is everywhere as not even a shower curtain was there. had to change room due to tv not working
Review 22:breakfast was good
Review 23:Room on 7th floor, no elevator, small room, poor furnishing.
Review 24:The hotel is on a perfect location if you have to travel via Milano Centrale. Only 5 mins walk and you can get all type of transport. A lot of nice restaurants nearby.
Review 25:It was advertised Ideal Hotel. Milan. Italy but on arrival transferred to Glam Hotel next door....so it was the Glam Hotel we were accommodated at. Breakfast included excellent.
Review 26:Nothing really, as expected for the low cost. Probably exceeded expectations based upon some negative reviews. We thought it was comfortable bed, nice hot and pressured shower. Just no luxuries, which is expected at this star rating!
Review 27:The breakfast was amazing and added greatly to the value of our stay.
Review 28:There were mosquitoes in the room in December, I couldn't sleep. The walls were dirty needed some fresh paint. The TV wasn't working and the WiFi signal was very weak.
Review 29:I liked its location right next to Milan train station.
Review 30:No car park. Receptionist talked to me using "tu" instead of using as me "lei" she was shouting to collegues the day before. She transmited negative energies to all. The hotel's walls are very thin and rooms are very small.
Review 31:Close to train station. Good breakfast and nice coffee made by waitress.
Review 32:The had no rooms when we checked in, however they had already arranged rooms in nearby 4* GLAM Hotel next to their property, & it was a kind of upgradation without any additional charge.
Review 33:Wifi requires logging in every time. A/C gets cold at night
Review 34:Great location, just opposite the central station. Modern and clean. Very helpful staff. Very quick check-in and check-out. Great breakfast. They even had a bottle opener to lend us. Comfortable bed and pillow.
Review 35:The reception staff were very friendly and helpful. I would particularly like to mention Roberto who was very helpful in overcoming an email problem with my IPhone which enabled me to make a booking for the Leonardo tour. I could not done it without his help..
Review 36:We didn't get the room we booked. We reserved two queens and ended up with two twins pushed together. For three of us this was not comfortable. The shower overflowed not only in bathroom but into bedroom area.
Review 37:The location was great. The breakfast was nice.
Review 38:wifi was very poor. no extra pillow. shower box was very small and open making the rest of the bathroom wet at the time of shower.
Review 39:location was very good and comfort was fine.
Review 40:Wifi is super slow, really poor. Rooms look tired and needs a fresh lick of paint.
Review 41:This hotel is close to the main station, 2 mins away, so was good for a single overnight stay. Breakfast was quite good, lots Italian pastries.
Review 42:The shower was only big enough for a little girl's doll; the walls are so thin that I could hear everything from my neighbours' rooms; the bathroom had a smell of dirty water.
Review 43:The location in relation to where I needed to go was very good, and the bed was extremely comfortable.
Review 44:The staff's attitude was appalling...they served you under sufferance...if they are the welcoming commity for your hotel they are doing a great job of turning people away
Review 45:Location
Review 46:When I arrived even though deposit money was charged to me day earlier I have been told no rooms are available and have to move to another hotel, deposit money will be return in 14 days however i have to pay full money for the other hotel
Review 47:nothing attitude of staff was horrible
Review 48:Not a bad experience, but only one pillow each and they were fairly flat, so would have like two pillows per person
Review 49:The room was very clean and the bed fairly comfortable. Breakfast was more than we expected so was pleasantly surprised. The lady on reception during the day was extremely helpful and very charming. The gentleman who checked us in was not very well dressed but was very pleasant.
Review 50:Staff is non-friendly. 4 nights and never I received a smile. When you ask for something, it feels as if they are doing you a favor. Always giving a "I am so busy" face. Poor service.
Review 51:Close to Train Station. Close to Food.
Review 52:We actually didn't stay in this hotel. It was fully booked when we arrived but the lady on reception booked us into an adjoining hotel. The only reason for leaving this review is to say how extremely helpful & professional she was. Can only say the hotel looked very nice!
Review 53:Room very small, absolutely overwhelming smell of cigarettes and scruffy. Staff at reception desk were too busy having their own conversations to bother with the task at hand. Not value for money.
Review 54:Location is ideal for the central station. Breakfast (both food and staff) were good.
Review 55:Found the staff quite unfriendly & not welcoming at all. Room very tiny & bathroom more so!
Review 56:A good place to stay if only staying overnight & requiring rail travel. Close to Milan train station.
Review 57:bad value for money, no corkscrew in the minibar, no slippers in the room, bathroom and room not well maintained (eg. half light detached from the wall, bathroom sinks ruined, shower with limestone), sanitary bathroom small, modest breakfast, Wi - Fi undersized so slow as to be virtually useless, dirty TV remote controller
Review 58:excellent location
Review 59:the hotel was very ditrty, and when we came we were disapointed so finaly we canceled reservation because we did not wanted to stay , on secon hand the staff was ok, they did not charge penalty.
Review 60:The staff had not been really friendly. The room I got was super small and clearly very poorly built (i.e. broken walls, shower so small that I couldn't even close the door properly, etc.)
Review 61:Location is convinient if you arrive late by train
Review 62:Some of the staff not welcoming Internet system is tedious. Every time you have to log in with long username & password. Facilities very poor.
Review 63:The staff was use- and careless. Rooms are in a poor condition and not user friendly (weak wlan, paper thin walls, bathroom is very inconvenient) and there was even mold on the wall! A horrible place, which feels like a total rip off!
Review 64:Well we booked the room online, when we arrived they changed us the hotel location not just us the 10 or more guest that night saying that they had online mistake, they have more than one hotel in Milan and they are using the one they have in central station to sell rooms with that price then taking guest to other Idea hotels in Milan, that is not the service anyone expect, i was very disappointed and i will never book a room in that hotel again.
Review 65:although I booked a double room early and am a returning guest, they put me in Room 105 which is possibly the smallest double room I have ever stayed in Milan. you cannot possibly use the wash basin because it is set inside a very small space. The WC is inside the shower. the bed is like a single bed. I asked for a change of room and they told me the hotel was full on Sept 27th. Do not use Room 105. I have stayed in this hotel before and they do have larger double rooms. Very very disappointed and I will not use his hotel again.
Review 66:Bathroom was large enough but small sink that didn't drain properly and even smaller shower also with drain problems. Bathroom ceiling simply horrible. Overall room condition needs freshening up. Marked up walls from use and blood stains from people killing the usual Milan mosquitoes.
Review 67:Modern looks Good breakfast
Review 68:Our bathroom did not have any proper curtains so did not feel very private as the building opposite could see in.
Review 69:The hotel was very close to the train station. The breakfast buffet was very nice.
Review 70:The breakfast buffet was not desirable and food was room temperature. The bathroom was poorly lit and very small, floors flood when you take a shower. WiFi continued to kick me off.
Review 71:The location and a comfortable bed.
Review 72:The breakfast spread is limited with very few options for vegetarians. The rooms are very tiny. With the bed and table there is hardly any room to move. The room has no tea/coffee provision. The rooms does not even provide an Iron. The full hotel has only two irons and even after requesting several times over 2 days, i could not get an Iron.
Review 73:The property is located close to central station and I was able to reach all meetings in about 20 minutes by public transport. The staff was very polite and helpful as well.
Review 74:The room I was given initially was not the one i booked. Later I was given a room with double bed but was very cramped. The breakfast option was really poor.
Review 75:Location is good as it is very close to the central station.
Review 76:Quiet and sunny room at strategic location (train/metro). Easy to reach Teatro alla Scala, Duomo, city center etc. Very competent and friendly staff. Will come again.
Review 77:We we're given a 7th floor room and the lift only goes six, and we had a lot of heavy luggage, room was in need of maintenance ceiling tiles lifted lettin Mosquitos into our room, we were all covered in bites The next day
Review 78:Staff were very friendly and cooperative
Review 79:It was difficult to get a table in the breakfast room which was prepared and ready to use rather than having to wait for it to be cleared from the previous users.
Review 80:Hotel staff were so friendly and helpful. Room was spotless and the right temperature.
Review 81:Room was small for 3 people and walls were dirty in room. Air conditioning is controlled by office so after making our way to our room we then had to go back down to office to get our air conditioning turned on!!!
Review 82:Well located to central station and within walking distance to Central Milan.
Review 83:Wifi works on a 24 hour password, so asking each day for the password can be a little frustrating.
Review 84:Good location next to the central station, which made it easy arriving and departing, as well as close to a metro station - only 15 minutes from Piazza Duomo.
Review 85:Some rooms are dirty like hell and smells so bad i had to ask to change the room . Breakfast is not high quality but well enough.
Review 86:Except the responsible lady other stuff are very helpful. Breakfast place was nice.
Review 87:The room was tiny but OK for 1 person. The walls are paper thin. It was hard to find a street sign but I asked for help at a snack bar just outside the station.
Review 88:The location close to Milan Central station and breakfast were excellent.
Review 89:TV in the room not working. Safety deposit box in the room not fixed to anything, just left on a bench. Staff took the liberty of charging my credit card in GB pounds thereby giving me a worse exchange rate than my card company.
Review 90:Location close to main station.
Review 91:The room was very old with dirty walls Wifi was not working properly in the room Only 2 sockets and we were in 3 in the room Noice
Review 92:The location was good
Review 93:the lobby looks a bit "designish" but the rooms are practically like somebody had forgotten to arrange them well. Create impression that they werent painted for ages. The lamps from 80s. The mosquitoes blood on walls too the breakfast bag we asked for the next morning consisted of water, juice and two cookies...
Review 94:value for money in comparison to other hotels near centrale. public means within walking distance.
Review 95:Our room was awful. The walls were disgusting and covered with dirt and who knows what else. There was no shower in our bathroom. I repeat: there was no shower in our bathroom. There was just a shower head so everything else in the bathroom was soaked after taking a shower. The room was clearly not cleaned well and was overpriced for what we got.
Review 96:Breakfast was good.
Review 97:This hotel was the biggest disappointment of our trip the room was that small you could only walk around the bed and couldn't sit on the toilet as knees wouldn't fit as the shower was that close. Walls were filthy with marks and squashed Mosquitos covering everything and the area it is in is described online as unsafe at night and full of homeless immigrants, gypsys and people trying to scam you with hardly any shops and no were particularly nice to eat thank god it was only 10 euro for a taxi to Central
Review 98:Bed was comfy enough this was about the only thing we were happy with
Review 99:WiFi connection on the 5th floor of the Idea hotel was very poor. Lack of parking around the hotel. We have to pay extra 25 euros for the parking garage 2 blocks away.
Review 100:Breakfast and modern room design. Staff was young and energetic.
Review 101:Internet setup very poor and complicated . Breakfast very poor . Staff at restaurant are very noisy !they drop dishes and slam doors ! Kitchen is too small for staff , saw fruit cut & prepared by the dish washing sink ,
Review 102:location & cleanness
Review 103:At our arrival they told us, that there is no reservation for us. Theywere not friendly or supportive. Not a bit of a warm welcome. The hotelitself is a disaster. Our Room was totally dirty and in a bad state.Wedid not feel well. The walls were full of dead flies and traces of shoesand undefinable stripes. In the bathroom, there was no curtain to closethe shower. Consequently the whole bathroom was underwater. But wethought we will survive for just on night. At this time we did not knewthe breakfast circumstances... Definitely the absolutely lowest point inmy travel experiences ever!!!! The breakfast included toast which had tobe roasted under a wall full of cobwebs. The fruits looked like theywere min. One week old and like someone throw them onto the buffet. Theorangejuice had to be drunken out of plastic bottles. I guess thecheapest and thinest on the market... The Coffee tastes like the machinewas not cleaned over months.. To make matters worse: a cleaner dustedover the table of other guests!!!!!! I have never seen somethingdisgustful like that.We left without breakfast because we could not eat there ecause these circumstances evoke sickness! Choose any other hotel! This one is not worth 110€!!!! NICHT BUCHEN, WENN MAN AUCH NUR DIE GERINGSTEN ANSPRÜCHE HAT.
Review 104:Wenig
Review 105:We all know hotel standards in Italy are not the best of its kind, but for this price one would expect to have a decent bathroom. The toilet is simply unsusable: My shoulders would not fit among the two walls to brush my teeth or have a shave. It was imposible to have a shower without making a mess in the whole toilet. And if you put the shower towel in the floor you could not even open the door properly. Besides the toilet, the wifi was extremly poor, the TV was not working and the airconditioning is set up to turn off after 5 minutes. For 120€ per night for a single room its a bad joke.
Review 106:Nothing.
Review 107:Dirty footprints all over the walls and the room is the size of a postage stamp.
Review 108:The location is great and you can hop on the hop on hopoff bus very close by.Also there are places to eat just up the road.
Review 109:Apparently not the staff's fault, but a previous guest smoked in the room. The entire hotel is supposedly non- smoking, but the room reeked.
Review 110:The proximity to Milano Centrale. Friendly and accommodating staff.
Review 111:Booking's map was misleading and not in the printout of confirmation, but friendly locals helped to find it
Review 112:The location 200m from Centrale, superior modern equipment, well trained and helpful staff, great breakfast selection
Review 113:Noise from street as no double glazing on windows.
Review 114:Big bathroom, nice room, very modern decor and recently refurbished. Excellent buffet breakfast included in hotel price.Near main station, convenient.
Review 115:3 buildings around it are in various stages of (re)construction, making an unbearable noise from 6am. Couldn't sleep and the hotel staff said there's nothing they can do. Didn't offer any discount or comfort to resolve it (and it didn't mention anything about it in their site, as well!).
Review 116:Very close to the central train station and one of the main metro cross stations. Easy to get around from that point.
Review 117:bathroom got flooded from the shower, the toilet flushing system fell all over me, very noisy place, couldnt sleep all night. also the walls were heavily dirty, horrible experience
Review 118:terrible place
Review 119:Close to train station, very easy to find.Variety choice of breakfast.Staff were very friendly to told us where we can visit around the hotel and city center. We had a pleasant stay for one night.
Review 120:Bathroom...shower plus toilet....= terrible..... Terrible bathroom.... Receptionist woman : I did check out...wanted just left my luggage, invoice...Receptionist very unprofessional...very impolite. I disturbe her...or dont understand this behaviour.
Review 121:Near central station
Review 122:Limit of 2 devices allowed on free wifi: Two people, each with a phone and one iPad to search for information about the city could not be connected at the same time. Narrow elevator.
Review 123:Idea was perfectly located close to Milano Centrale train station. We wanted to be close to public transportation to reduce our walking time with our luggage (heavy backpacks).
Review 124:Room very small and not clean Dirty marks all over the walls, smelly bathroom. Shower flooding the bathroom floor Lift ends at the second last floor so had to drag heavy luggage on the stairs
Review 125:Close to train station (walking distance)
Review 126:Small bathroom, tv channels not working, phone to call the front desk not working, breakfast very poor and no choices of food,
Review 127:The bed was very comfortable, front dest employees are very very friendly
Review 128:Lady at the reception, the most amazing travel advice and personality!! Breakfast was exceptional. Nice and close to Centrale FS Metro station! Friendly staff :)
Review 129:Furniture a bit warned out and walls not as clean as expected.
Review 130:Great location at about 100m from Milano Centrale railway station. For a one night stay, the price/quality ratio was fair, considering that there was a 60% discount at booking time (we paid 89 euro for a triple room).
Review 131:contrary to the hotel's rules(One child under 10 years stays free of charge when using existing beds) they didn't allow me to stay my 3 years old son with us, they forced me to book another room for my son. When I was talking about the hotel's rules, the lady in reception told me don't waste my time :( In my case they offer me a triple room for 139 euros but in the same time booking.com offer 80 euros :( Just I'm sure they are liar...
Review 132:The only disappointment was the very dim lighting in the bathroom – only one low illumination bulb – which meant I was shaving by guesswork!
Review 133:My wife and I stayed here as an overnight stop on 25th June while passing through Milan by train. The hotel is very convenient for Milan Central train station – less than 5 minutes walk even with luggage. Pleasant air-conditioned room with large double bed and satisfactory breakfast. Very quick checkout and when we asked for a taxi it arrived in a couple of minutes.
Review 134:The windows are not hermetic, bed uncomfortable, severe noise from outside that woke me up every morning during my stay. Room needs maintenance as most of the furniture is broken (tissue box, table stuff, even the minibar doesn't get cold...) Moreover, I arrived 3 minute late to the breakfast (10h33 AM) I was refused even a coffee in a non friendly manner... a big room for improvement in terms of customer service!
Review 135:Location is ok
Review 136:Old equipment, poor wifi and only available to one person, the room is not worthy the price.
Review 137:breakfast is good. Friendly staff and nice service. 5 min walking to Central station, near metro station and lots of restaurants.
