Reviews for Locanda Ca Da Iride
Review 1:The only downside is that it is located high up the hill; HOWEVER, this means you get killer views.
Review 2:I liked how I basically rented my own apartment that was clean and comfortable. The family that owns it is very nice.
Review 3:The elderly gentleman owner Ivan, couldn't be more helpful. Told us where we should go in the town to catch the sunset, how long it would take us to do walks. Clearly passionate about where he lives. It's always nice to stay somewhere with a friendly local. Accomodation modern and clean and terrace was great. Lots of steps to get to. But that's cinque Terre!! Take the lift ( 0.80 cents ) if catching the train.
Review 4:There r stairs, so be prepared if have big luggage.
Review 5:Location is good, it's nice to have a provate parking. considering limited place in the town. Staff are great and helpful. I hope to come back at summer time.
Review 6:No breakfast option
Review 7:Close to the beach, friendly staff and beautiful room with a terrace. Nothing not to like wifi did cut out quite a bit though. Plenty of privacy in our own room which was great.
Review 8:Many steep stairs from the street to the room. Also a very long uphill walk from the station. Very little English spoken by hosts which made it difficult to ask directions etc. WiFi not really useable.
Review 9:Spotlessly clean with lovely balcony overlooking the town and with a small view of the ocean. The bed was extremely comfortable.
Review 10:Towels were not replaced daily and no safe in room. We were disappointed that credit cards were not accepted despite it being noted as acceptable payment on the booking.com website. This was quite an inconvenience to us.
Review 11:We had a seaview room which was beautiful. The room and bathroom was spacious and modern. The owner was friendly and nice to us and advised us on restaurants to go to.
Review 12:The gentleman who was there was nice, but had a very poor English (and did not speak French or Spanish, that I also speak...), hence communications was difficult, he could not indicate restaurants or nice things to do, or even where to go for the breakfast that was supposed to be included in the price... The room was spatious enough and clean, but had no view (I understand there are others up the hill, this one was on the first "floor"), and lacked basic charm you normally expect from a B&B.
Review 13:Well located, clean and quiet
Review 14:If there was breakfast it would be a plus
Review 15:Owner, Ivan, was extremely helpful. While the village is old the rooms are of high and modern standards when it comes to bathrooms and beds. Clearly value for money!
Review 16:Too many steps to get down to the village and back up. Car is parked on top of the room in a very restricted space. There is NO coffee machine or coffee/tea maker in the room as was advertised on Booking.com. Wifi could only be accessed on the terrace and not in the room itself. Do not go there if you are mobility impeded. Steps are high, irregular and too many.
Review 17:The room was right on top of the village. It was very comfortable inside. Large terrace.
Review 18:The staff is family and treats guests wonderfully. A friend broke her foot and the father was getting her ice in a pack regularly. They could not have been more helpful.
Review 19:The house is beautiful, it is located right in the center of beautiful Montalcino, and the hosts were fabulous - they recommended excellent restaurants, arranged a tour of a small and excellent winery, and were just overall extremely gracious. We would recommend this place to anyone!
Review 20:No breakfast offered--even a cup of coffee or some toast would be nice and is offered by other B & Bs at same price point. We could not find the owner at all after we checked in and paid with cash. We had questions on wifi (figured out the hard-to-read handwriting on the slip of paper ourselves after multiple tries) and on check out we had to "toss" our key on a table through an open window. Lots of stairs to get to room (then again Cinque Terre is all hills and stairs!)
Review 21:Riomaggiore is a great town. Room was very clean and great view from balcony. Shower had good pressure and a/c was good.
Review 22:The initial walk from the train station is mostly uphill, so with luggage it is something you don't want to do twice.
Review 23:Nice hosts. Nice room, quite spacious for 2 people. Very comfortable.
Review 24:Located up top of very steep hill and a lot of steps. I don't recommend this if you are not very fit. We are relatively fit and were out of breath by time we got here, but it was worth it.
Review 25:Great room and spacious. Clean, modern and comfy. Lovely outdoor area to have a wine, coffee etc.
Review 26:The owners were so accommodating, hotel room was immaculate and it was very obvious these owners love what they do. I would definitely stay there again without hesitation.
Review 27:This is a family run business and the family works together to keep guests happy. They were exceptionally helpful and always cheerful. A joy to stay with them! Rooms were super clean.
Review 28:couldn't find staff when we needed them e.g. to pay. but as this is family run guesthouse we didn't mind too much
Review 29:clean, comfortable room, powerful shower, nice patio area
Review 30:The view was amazing from the patio. Only a short walk down to the train and harbour. The sunset is amazing from the cliff, bring your own wine and relax. All the other villages are only a short hop on the train away and only €2.40
Review 31:The hotel was fantastic with easy access to Riomaggiore and the rest of Cinque Terre. The innkeepers were great: friendly and informative. We got enough information to plan our trip and still leave some time for exploring. The town is enchanting and this hotel fits right in!
Review 32:Th room was at the top of seven or eight tall flights of stairs, made of rough stone and uneven in height. No elevator was available, nor staff to carry our things to the room. There is no reception as such, and nobody was in sight when we arrived, nor were there signs telling us what to do. The owner's son eventually showed up to check us in and take us to our room.
Review 33:The room, with a great view and a wonderful terrace, was impeccably new. We got parking in a town where none is to be had.
Review 34:We arrived past midnight and was told they could not accommodate us for the night (despite of the reservation AND a phone call in advance that we would be late). All other places were closed down that time a night - and the elderly man receiving us didn't seem to care much about our situation. In the end, we managed to get in touch with one of the young family members who was helpful and found us a room. Very disappointing start to an otherwise good stay!
Review 35:Rooms were nice and all equipped with a private terrace and table. We had breakfast and coffee there every morning which was great! Room has what you need in terms of AC, coffee machine, Internet etc.
Review 36:Breakfast (full continental) was not available but good coffee making machine in the room. Has a fridge and food can be purchased in the village about 200 metres away.
Review 37:Beautiful setting, had simple room with balcony and amazing view. The only difficulty was that the owners (father and son) did not speak English well, but they were as helpful as can be and extremely nice! We will return one day!
Review 38:Required cash payment upon arrival so we had to find a bank....and cost was slightly more (around $20 total) than what was quoted on Booking.com.
Review 39:The room is newly updated and very modern. The view from the terrace was breath taking. They offer parking (additional fee). The service was kind and supportive. We would return!
Review 40:The hotel initially asked us to pay the extra charge of 20 Euro/night for an extra bed in cash..., which we hadn't planned for, and struggled to pay. So bring lots of cash! since many places in Cinque Terre ask for Cash only!
Review 41:The view was fantastic from the balcony room! You can wake up to a view of the ocean and birds chirping every morning. The room & bathroom was also updated, with air conditioning, and had good hot running water. They were also able to add an extra single bed for our 3rd friend. Would stay here again.
Review 42:We arrived early and even though the room wasn't ready the lovely couple let use use the room so we could get on our walk of the Cinque Terre straight away. We even parked our car in their garage for the night. The rooms are spacious and the private balconies are lovely to relax on.
Review 43:It would be helpful to co-ordinate guests arrival time to help with the luggage from the main entrance up the steps to the hotel. It was quite challenging to lug the suitcase uphill from the station to the hotel which took half an hour. Needs better signage to locate the hotel.
Review 44:Quiet and being able to sit outside in the balcony to enjoy the day with a glass of wine
Review 45:Ivano was very, very courteous and helpful with all of our requests. He and his wife made our stay very pleasant.
Review 46:no wifi connection, poor English
Review 47:good view, comfort bed
Review 48:Staff and location top class! A can't miss stop in Italy!
Review 49:Lots of steps but ok.
Review 50:The owner.
Review 51:The owners were very sweet and helpful. The deck with a view was beautiful.
Review 52:Very nice room and kind host
Review 53:The room was clean and comfortable. The staff members we met were friendly and accommodating.
Review 54:The Walk to the very top of the village for the accommodation.
Review 55:Comfortable room with WI-FI
Review 56:no breakfast included for the price we paid, as all other accommodations included this in Northern Italy.
Review 57:Nice friendly people.
Review 58:bed was not comfy but wasn't too bad, pretty typical euro matress
Review 59:Super clean, owners were very sweet, location was perfect and quiet.
Review 60:The view from the balcony/terrace was fantastic. The room was virtually brand new and a very welcome reprieve from the Italian heat!
Review 61:Great view from our terrace!
Review 62:The room was very nice, spacious and clean. The balcony was wonderful! Everyone was very welcoming.
Review 63:Good facilities and friendly owner!
Review 64:Great location, lovely clean room with air con, coffee machine and comfortable bed!
Review 65:The owner of the hotel is a hilarious older couple. Our room had a fantastic view from the balcony.
Review 66:The private outdoor terrace and beautiful plants surrounding it.
Review 67:Wasn't sure if there was wifi
Review 68:Close to everything, the most lovely and helpful staff, very cute place!
