Reviews for Tenuta Ciminata Greco

Review 1:Local restaurant for evening meal. Not easy to find, not welcoming.

Review 2:Fascinating room and chateau. Lovely friendly helpful hosts in Mario and Loredana. Swimming pool and area superb, amidst magnificent olive groves.

Review 3:We only stayed here 2 nights and had planned a day of relaxing by the pool. Unfortunately there was a wedding that night, so from 14:00 the pool area wasn't available anymore. Apparently this location is popular for weddings, especially on saturdays. This is a bit of a disadvantage for the hotel guests, who pay for a B&B with pool...

Review 4:Beautifully restored old olive-mill with a large terrace and great pool. The surroundings driving over there aren't very appealing, but once you are at the B&B, you can enjoy splendid views. The room was large, beautifully furnished and clean. Breakfast was delicious, fresh and plenty (sweet and savory). The second evening the terrace wasn't available because of a wedding, but they set up a table for us in the courtyard and we were offered a drink from the house.

Review 5:You won't want to leave! Family-run, and they treat you like family. They even invited us to a family birthday party. Beautiful, serene setting with pool overlooking the majestic countryside, breakfast cooked to order. What's not to love!

Review 6:Spacious rooms, stunning views, observing an Italian wedding. An elegant breakfast. Cakes in 'Tagliaferri dal 1900' in the old town not to be missed. Food at 'La Casa Bianca' restaurant breathtakingly good. Visit to the old liquorice factory a must !

Review 7:There is nothing we did not like.

Review 8:We liked--loved--everything about this magnificent property. We feel so fortunate to have experienced such a beautiful place, comfortable room, and accomodating host. We thought about staying the rest of our lives...

Review 9:Had no criticism of the house and gardens at all, but was a little disappointed with the beach. It was lovely to be able to take a swim back at the house.

Review 10:This beautiful house has been restored to a very high standard providing a very comfortable retreat to spend a few days. Mario warmly welcomed us and told us all about the history of the house and how the olive oil was processed. Within the house is a family library of over 6000 books that have been carefully catalogued and displayed by Mario's mother and Mario is very happy to show you. The rooms are tastefully decorated to provide you with a very comfortable stay. The garden and pool area was a delight to sit by. Breakfast when it wasn't too windy was served in the garden. We really enjoyed our stay here. Had a tour of the liquorice factory recommended by Mario and this was definitely worth doing. Rossano is an agricultural town , not particularly geared up for tourists but a great stopping place to visit Matera and other parts do Southern Italy. Mario did an excellent job making us feel very welcome. Thank you very much. We would highly recommend staying at the Ciminata Greco.

Review 19:Nice environment, surrounded by nature.

Review 20:Ambience,pool,property,staff

Review 21:1) the distance for center of the city and the beach. No option, must have a car or use taxi.

Review 22:1) The place is amazing, very view of the city of Rossano and the montains around. 2) The historical building where the Tenuta Ciminata Grego is located is very welll conservated

Review 23:A little tricky to find, but worth the adventure.

Review 24:Where do I start? This was one of the most unique places we have had the opportunity to visit during all of our travels. The property is family owned and exceeded all of our expectation. We were greeted warmly as we drove up through the main gate and entered the property through the courtyard. It was also nice to find that everyone spoke English. This property has been in the Greco family since the 1800’s and the attention to detail was remarkable. When we checked in we received a tour of the facility that had interesting interiors with stone arches, wood-beamed ceilings and remnants of the original antique olive presses that were left over from the time they manufactured olive oil. Even with all of the old world charm it still had the modern updating of climate controlled room, flat screen TV, free internet service and modern bath facilities. Our room overlooked rows of olive trees that seemed to go forever. The beauty, charm and warmth of this place is hard to describe and must be experienced.

Review 25:none

Review 26:A beautiful old oil press changed magnificently into a guest house, beautiful landscaoe and superb treatment. Outstanding!

Review 27:Rooms should be aired before new arrivals. Wifi not available in room.

Review 28:Service, peace and quiet.
