Reviews for Agriturismo Villa Bissiniga
Review 1:Everything was wonderful.Staff so helpful, informative & so nice. Accommodation and room beautiful, food delicious. The area interesting and gorgeous.
Review 2:Be prepared to a kind of adventure, it is quite difficult to find the place even if you have a navigator ;-)
Review 3:I would recommend this villa to everyone who loves agriculture tourism. The villa is very beautiful and it is situated on top of the hill. Interiors are absolutely amazing and make you feel like duke or at least very important person.
Review 4:Very friendly personnel, pretty and clean room with great lakeview, lovingly restored house, breakfast with fresh fruits from the beautiful garden and very delicious omelette, quiet and relaxing place near the lake
Review 5:One room was with stairs in it, and we had to go up and down the stairs to the toilets in the middle of the night.
Review 6:A beautiful and well maintained place with nice and comfortable rooms. Excellent service, allways with a smile, and delicious meals. highly recommended
Review 7:Nothing
Review 8:The staff was so pleasant. Staying here was such a pleasure. A farmhouse full of history. Food was excellent. Rooms are extremely large. A nice short walk to town. Highly recommend.
Review 9:Towels are not changing properly - once in 2 days is not enough because if you use towel once in the morning it is not getting dry by next morning. Not enough light in the room and bathroom
Review 10:Very nice view from hotel terrace to Garda Lake. Good food in the hotel. Lovely interior and farm itself. Fresh eggs and hand-made cakes every breakfast
Review 11:Atmosphere in the house & surroundings was amazing! Personnel made the stay special! Dinner was unforgettable <3 as well as breakfast delicious. Grazie mille!
Review 12:there is no such thing about this hotel
Review 13:You won't believe how it looks, museums take money for such ambience, here it will be your home. Amazing interour, very authentic antique items in rooms. Great stuff! Great breakfast! great view! everything!
Review 14:Steep climb back to hotel from Salo though good to work off the gelato. No pool but swimming in the Lake is more fun!
Review 15:A beautiful hotel with lots of character and a great atmosphere. Staff were extremely welcoming and friendly. The room was very unique and rustic but with all the comforts of a modern hotel. Views from the top terrace were wonderful. Delicious breakfast, cooked to order omelettes were a very welcome treat!
Review 16:This hotel is absolutely fantastic. I have travelled a lot in this world, but I've never seen such a unique and authentic hotel. It is located up the hill, surrounded by olive trees and offers a view all over Salò and lake Garda. The hotel is like a small castle that is continuously being renovated and each room has a unique and antique style. When we arrived late at night, the receptionist warmly welcomed us and explained us all the features. The house offers a large patio to sit outside and enjoy wine in the evening. Breakfast is delicious and served in an ancient ball room. Surprisingly perfect stay - I would recommend this hotel to everyone who wants to experience proper Italian flair.
Review 17:Great staff, absolutely relaxing lodging and food that makes you want to only eat their fresh made breakfast and evening meal. I highly recommend enjoying the optional 5 course evening meal featuring homemade pasta and fresh veggies from their garden.
Review 18:Were a bit dissapointed with the room, though we reserved a superior room , it was facing the terrace, so we could not open the curtains (as there could be people there), and in the evening we were sometimes disturbed by the voices. There was also a strange situation with a sofa from our room, which was taken away during our absence and we were neither asked if it was OK with us no got any excuses.
Review 19:An ideal place for romantic and quiet rest. Beautiful view of Salo, delicious breakfast, interior as from book description.
Review 20:Enormous but also monotonous five course dinner with rather poor wine from nearby premises. Friendly but rather inexperienced waiter. Other wines produced after persistent inquiry.
Review 21:Fantastically nice building, cool views, beautifully renovated rooms, flexible with respect to our large group of travelers
Review 22:It's a petty there is no pool, besides it is perfect!
Review 23:Beatiful villa, nicely decorated with a personal touch. Air conditioned! Chef dinner is served on an open terrace in front of a magnificent view...private garden to share a glass of wine.
Review 24:Loved the sympathetic renovation, the many stunning outside spaces, the peace and quiet, the lovely people, all just a short walk from the picturesque town of Salo.
Review 25:Villa Bissiniga has an enviable position up high on the hills, overlooking the lake. It has a real charm and this is largely due to the great staff which run it. The rooms are spacious with all of the modern amenities you could ask for.
Review 26:Hotel with character, Friendly and Welcoming, Excellent breakfast, Optional 4 course evening meal was excellent and good value, Peaceful and good view from terrace.
Review 27:Beautiful surroundings, olive trees, lake and mountain views from a huge terrace. Bedrooms spacious & comfy with old furniture. Lovely gracious breakfast room with beautiful old tables. Interior quirky and different. Very much an old Italian home.
Review 28:Generally the food was good but there was a lack of choice. More choice would make this venue perfect! No other complaints at all!
Review 29:We were guests at a wedding at the villa and we had an amazing time. Relaxed and friendly atmosphere, wonderful surroundings, with efficient, attentive and very friendly staff. Fabulous wine and lots of it! The wedding meal was excellent and they even have their own market garden. Would definitely visit again.
Review 30:The villa is very secluded so using public transport to get there is a little arduous but doable. A car would be better to get around.
Review 31:Villa, staff, grounds, food and wine are all top class. Couldn't ask for anything more.
Review 32:Shower presume could been better bed could do with headboard
Review 33:Staff where top end, food excellent, view amazing, rooms delightful full and the price excellent value. Will definitely go again.
Review 34:Location - too far from Salo. Dinner - we had not chance to try it since it is not served every day. Wi-fi - simply does not work.
Review 35:The building and the rooms are excellent.
Review 36:Nothing at all.
Review 37:The Bissiniga is a magnificent restored Mansion house which commands superb views over Salo and Lake Garda. The elegance of the era of the house has been sensitively captured in the design, decoration and furnishing throughout. The family are extremely attentive to guests needs and their evening dinner is an experience. We look for forward to our next visit in this very comfortable and well appointed Hotel.
Review 38:If you are looking for a quiet place to stay, this is your villa. Stylish and comfortable rooms, perfect facilities and wonderful view from the terrace. The food was amazing, the flavors of natural products were undisputed. Simply perfect! Thank you Francesca!
Review 39:Nicely renovated estate with all the modern conveniences, plus a great breakfast. Off the beaten path, but still only a 15 minute walk into Salo. Reasonably priced too !
Review 40:No Pool
Review 41:Beautifully restored location Eye for detail Good food (however a bit too much) Very friendly owner and staff Great bed Nice terrace and garden, with great view
Review 42:We would have liked a little farm experience, seeing how olive oil is made etc, but not serious.
Review 43:Location; stylish home; efficient, friendly and helpful staff; food; view, secure
Review 44:Now that's a difficult question! We loved every minute of it!!
Review 45:The staff were just so friendly and helpful. The views of Lake Garda and the mountains from the dining room were amazing. We had dinner there one evening. Quite expensive, but well worth the experience. The smooth Novello wine which we had with the meal was made from grapes growing on the estate. We liked keeping fit walking down to Salò and back.
Review 46:Nothing at all
Review 47:Tranquil, calm, relaxing , classy, welcoming and helpful staff! Plenty of quiet corners in the garden or terrace to enjoy a book or quiet glass of prose co. We had a lovely evening meal on the terrace overlooking Salo prepared using the produce of the hotel's extensive vegetable garden! Even the watermelon at breakfast was from the garden. The breakfast must the best we have ever had! A superb place to stay. A real gem!
Review 48:The bed was placed on a vide and airconditioning was located on the ground floor. This resulted in a warm night...
Review 49:Unfortunatly we could only stay for 1 night and is was raining almost the whole stay. Nevertheless this was a very pleasant stay. We could chose between an appartment or a room and we picked the room. The room was more luxury and stylish. Bed and shower were comfortable, diner was plentiful (and good priced!) and views were stunning! Furthermore, the gardens looked very nice.
Review 50:We enjoyed our time here. They were very attentive, spoke English which helped although my wife does speak Italian. The views from the terraces over the lake are incredible and food very good
Review 51:Don't believe anything about a view- it is just not true. We paid extra for the room with the view but there was a tree in front of the window. . .
Review 52:Beautiful room ,beautiful furniture, very good food!
Review 53:The closest restaurants are in downtown Salò down the hill, but climbing the path without a car is hard work.
Review 54:The staff was friendly and the location very clean and well maintained. The location is simply beautiful, with local gardening activities and animals strolling around the premises.
Review 55:the rooms in the pictures and the description were not the room we got. after asking, we were told that only the more expensive rooms have wooden floors, stone bathrooms, and a view of the lake or mountain. so we didn't get what we expected. but still we had a very good time there.
Review 56:Beautiful place, nice staff with good recommendations (we asked what there is to do in the area and really enjoyed the recommendation we got from them), very nice breakfast.
Review 57:Complicated to get there. Dinner is not the best italian food we had eaten ever
Review 58:Excellent! Beautyful! Amaizing!
Review 59:One of the best, most interesting villas we have ever stayed in. Luckily it was at the end of the season so it felt like it was our home.
Review 60:The location was fabulous but you definately need a car to get there. The room was lovely and the internet worked well.
Review 61:The place is amazingly beautiful. Staff is friendly and that's that
Review 62:The dinner was not good for the price
Review 63:The rooms were very good and clean
Review 64:Fantastic food, Nice view, Staff good.
Review 65:The creepy pinocchio doll in the 2nd floor lounge.
Review 66:Bed and Towels very nice. Great terrace and good breakfast.
Review 67:We spent our honeymoon there. Loved the room and the entire building. The staff were extremely nice without being too present. Salo is a lovely town.
Review 68:Wifi was a little hit and miss.
Review 69:Great place to stay near Lake Garda when you don't want to be right in the middle of the busy touristy spots.
Review 70:Wi-Fi didn't work in the room.
Review 71:Location, breakfast, personnel - great.
Review 72:nothing
Review 73:lovely view of the lake and beautiful , large room
Review 74:pillows were a bit large and uncomfortable.
Review 75:friendly and committed staff, great views, gourmet dinner.
Review 76:Beautiful and very original property, very friendly staff, simple but varied and tasty cuisine - in huge portions :-)
Review 77:A very good hotel in an ancient villa (where you expect to see some ghosts ;)), interesting design, great dining room and friendly staff.
Review 78:Tasty breakfast
Review 79:It was nice!
Review 80:The bedrooms and public rooms were all unique, the food was excellent as was the locally sourced wine, truly charming!
Review 81:The service was excellent. The family who run it were very kind and nothing was too much trouble. I'd highly recommend you stay here.
Review 82:Not a lot
Review 83:Location - a great room overlooking lake and mountains - easily accessible to Salo - really helpful staff - nice small garden and terrace
Review 84:We ate in one evening and I found the lots of small courses a bit too long winded and the food not quite to my taste. It was however very generous and served with masses of hospitality. Useful to be able to eat at the hotel if arriving late. Outside of this there is nothing to criticize. Individual, interesting and non-corporate.
Review 85:Wonderful views from the terrace - great place to sit with a pre-dinner drink or nightcap. The room was clean and a lovely bathroom + the air conditioning was very effective. Staff were very friendly and spoke enough English for us to get by as my Italian is limited. I loved it here and would certainly go back and recommend to friends and family - a real gem away from the hustle and bustle of the lakeside traffic.
Review 86:excellent place to stay on lake garda. we had dinner for 22 euro which was typical good italian food very good value. The room was a nice size and spotless.
Review 87:Split level room with spiral staircase to sleeping area - a bit too quirky for us. The walk back up the hill from Salo.
Review 88:Friendly, helpful staff, relaxed atmosphere, beautifully restored building full of antique furniture, good home cooking for optional evening meals.
Review 89:Liked everything about it.
Review 90:Recently returned from a one week stay. Loved the villa, the beautiful area and the hospitality of the family owners. All the staff were very friendly and helpful and could not do enough for their guests. The villa was beautiful and a fantastic base for walking, exploring, sightseeing, shopping and relaxing. We thoroughly recommend it.
Review 91:Everyone there was very welcoming and friendly. We ate dinner there one night and the food was amazing and reasonably priced. Although not on the lake, there are beautiful views.
Review 92:Everything was fantastic and the service was of a very high standard but we would like to have tea/coffee making facilities and a fridge in the room.
Review 93:We stayed at the Villa Bissiniga earlier in the year on our way to Venice and now once again on our way back. It was a wonderful experience on both occasions. This rural mansion has been carefully and lovingly restored by the family to reflect it's former splendour. there has been great attention to detail both inside the villa and in the gardens and grounds. Our room this time had fabulous views over Salo but even better is the panorama from the Bissiniga roof terrace, never complete without a glass of wine from the family's vineyard. We are decided to return here next Spring and are looking forward immensely to that time.
Review 94:The staff is a great lovely family we came for 3 nights and stayed for 5 nights the place is located in a great location for traveling in the area of garda lake
Review 95:This place is absolutly fantastic: very friendly family who runs the hotel, the room is reformed very nicely and you feel staying in house of 5 generation before you and the villa lies on a calm spot above the city with a fantastic view down to the lake. The legendary 5-plate dinner give every day a supreme highlight. The villa is also very suitable if you travel with small kids and - they are also very welcome! Full 10 points from us.
Review 96:Nothing bad about this place, but take in consideration that there is no fridge in the rooms, tho the staff will be able to host your food in their kitchen fridge. And again not nets on windows and no aircon after summer (from Sept),
Review 97:This was an amazing experience - this place was literally someones own castle, and was restored to a beautifull relaxing hotel. The design of the enterior is an adventure on its own, we loved the gardens and relazing chairs, the terraces and the staff who was extremely friendly giving us a tour of the place, and all the attention at dinner and breakfast. The also offer great dinner at the hotel, to request in advance. This is a great place to sleep at if you are on your way to Riva Del Garda (an hour away). The room is unique, and super comfertable, and clean by all standards - and more surprisingly internet was available in all rooms of hotel. If you are looking for a unique countryside european experience - this was totally it for us. Plus super romantic in a creepy old way:)
Review 98:The swimming pool had not been completed, due to bad weather but once a pool is available it will be an excellent place to stay
Review 99:A family run farm with rooms / villa. The buildings have lots o character and the family do everything they can to make your stay enjoyable. The evening meal is not to be missed and the wine is excellent The location is about 15 minute walk to the lake but we like walking so that was not a problem We will definitely stay there again
Review 100:Everything was great. Really!
Review 101:We stayed in the Hotel for 3 nights and by the end of our stay we felt there like at home. I was really sad when leaving this place. The room was very comfortable with the large bathroom. We had a private entrance and garden with deck chairs and picturesque view. Breakfast and dinners (espesially) are very tasty. The dinner is worth tasting. The cost is 22 euros per person without drinks and you get starter, 2 first courses, main course and desert. Everything is made with soul from products grown on the villa. Everything in the domestic atmosphere. The personel is very-very friendly making your stay very comfortable. When we arrived we were very hungry, asked for something to eat and got a meat and chese plate with tomatos and wine. We also had and olive tasting and a little excursion. One of the best places I've evere stayed in. A special place.
Review 102:We stayed only for one night and everything was brilliant. Friendly owners, full dinner included 7 dishes for very small money!!! Excellent view from the terrace, good location!
Review 103:The booking of the room for our friend did not work properly (computer problem), situation was solved well by giving him an appartment in the house next door at a very reasonable rate.
Review 104:Great hotel, excellent dinner and breakfast. Nicely furnished room. Perfect place for a stay at lake Garda.
Review 105:Absolutely lovely place to stay in Lake Garda. We had a nice view from our bathroom to the lake. Staff was very friendly. Room was very clean and cozy. They had a good parking space in hotel. We would like to stay in this hotel next time when visiting Lake Garda.
Review 106:could have been a bit more variety in the fruit for breakfast.
Review 107:A marvelous all-round establishment...great rooms and facilities, views to the lake, nice meals including optional dinner.
Review 108:The town of Salo is a bit touristy. But that's the town, not the hotel.
Review 109:Very friendly and helpful staff. Cosy and nice place. Nice view. Parking can be tricky if you have a very low sports car. If you have a nose-lift system you'll be fine but I didn't...
Review 110:no italian or chill out music during the dinners - it would be nicer, no bicycle rental available
Review 111:great view from the terrace, very nice and helpfull staff, good vine, turtles in the garden, silence and small kids in the area:) almost like an Italian heaven:)
Review 112:Nothing.
Review 113:Villa Bissiniga is just the best hotel we've ever been at. Everything was just perfect, staff, room, milieu etc. And the dinner was just amazing, no point going out to eat! Will definitely come back again!
Review 114:Our room was small, with our bed up a spiral staircase -very intriguing-but next time we would opt for a more expensive one.
Review 115:We loved the friendly, family atmosphere and the helpfulness of all thestaff. The lady on reception spoke perfect english and the staff in thedining room spoke some. The food was excellent and good value, though wefound there to be too much in our 5 course set meal. However next timewe asked for smaller portions and that was much better. They have plansfor the future including a pool. The whole building had been veryimaginatively restored.
Review 116:Design sometimes conflicted with functionality. Lighting in the bathroom was not adequate. It's a bit difficult to find, even with GPS.
Review 117:Loved the antique vs. modern renovation. This is a beautiful old villa updated into a unique, modern B&B. Every room is different and comfortable. The view is lovely. One of the best included breakfasts we had on our three week trip, but also one of the least expensive hotels. Very friendly and helpful staff, though few speak English.
Review 118:The staff at the hotel was outstanding. The hotel sits above the harbor town and is away from tourists. The grounds are lovely with plenty of room to relax with a glass of wine..A romantic dinner offered in the evening served local fare and was served on their patio overlooking the town and harbor of Salo. A marvelous experience in the Lake Garda area. Don't miss a tour of the villa in the adjoining town!
Review 119:First night the air con didn't work but we were able to move room after that and thoroughly enjoyed the stay
Review 120:Great location, lovely hotel, food was good and Lake Garda is amazing
