Reviews for Coral Sea Resort
Review 1:One Woman who served us in the restaurant was quite rude and gave us the impression that she really didn't want to be there and us just asking to pay on card was a big inconvenience to her. There was one night that our air conditioning unit started leaking water, we phoned reception though and they offered for us to move rooms immediately or fix the problem. We asked them to fix it and it was done by the time we had eaten breakfast.
Review 2:The staff on reception and the facilities team were amazing!! The pool was the perfect temperature - Not too cold but very refreshing on a hot day. The location can not be faulted one bit... Right on the sea and seconds from the main strip of Airlie beach. Once you got to the hotel though you'd never believe you were near the hustle and bustle as it was so quiet. Excellent value for money.
Review 3:Beautiful location. Staff helpful and friendly. Loved having a cocktail on the hotels private jetty watching the sunset. Looked after our bags whilst we went on an overnight boat trip.
Review 4:Just a little disappointed with the new years eve meal ..a little too fancy..a "plain" selection for each course would have been appreciated ..no fresh vegetables ..just a simple grilled fish would have been fine. and a fresh fruit salad for dessert great wait staff..thank you.
Review 5:Lovely spacious room-413 loved balcony Quick walk into town and marinas wonderful wait staff ..very courteous loved iced water by pool loved pool and surrounds very quiet and tranquil beautiful ..we will definitely be back ..any stand by rates..we would come regularly from Mackay.
Review 6:Fabulous place to stay! If you are wondering where to stay at Airlie Beach, Coral Sea Resort is incomparable. We rented a two bedroom unit with an ocean view. It was beautiful! The staff are so helpful and friendly. The tour desk gives excellent advice.
Review 7:Clipper Restaurant was disappointing for Dinner.
Review 8:Superb Location between Ocean front & Marina & views. Swimming pool & surrounding areas under palms. Boardwalks to Marina & town. Proximity for all tours to Reef & Day Sailing. Excellent Staff attention & service.
Review 9:I personally found the Restaurant for Dinner a bit too "Cordon Bleu" with the sauces overpowering the meal.. (Tropical Breakfast was good but more fresh fruit, less canned fruit).
Review 10:Location on beach & Marina with superb views. Swimming Pool Excellent Staff attention & service. Boardwalks to town & Marina good walking. Lots to do with visits to Reef & Islands.
Review 11:NOTE: How to boil eggs so they don't fall apart during peeling. Boil the water prior to putting the eggs in. More than 1 newspaper at the breakfast counter. And really, charging $150 to eat in the gazebo, should be reconsidered.
Review 12:The front desk staff were a 10/10. The cleaning staff were a10/10. The restaurant staff were a 10/10.
Review 13:Dinner was disappointing with the "pink" duck being well done and tough and the accompanying celeriac gratin being nothing like any gratin dish I have ever had, and not good. Also the accompanying duck pate-type "thing" was inedible - 2 of our party had this dish and we concur on all this. The fillet steak was also tough. Of the 5 main dishes ordered only one person was completely happy. However lunch the next day was a different menu and all four of us enjoyed the meals.
Review 14:Great location with beautiful views and easy walk to the restaurants and Ports. The staff were friendly, 2-bed apartment clean and had a nice view.
Review 15:The credit card I used to hold the booking (different card to which I intended to pay with) was charged almost a week before our stay and I ended up with an overdrawn fee as a result. Also, it's more than 48 hrs after checking out and the $100 hold on my credit card for any incidentals has not yet been lifted. Aside from those things and only have a double bed in the room (my error when booking), the rest was great.
Review 16:The view was absolutely beautiful and I would love to stay there again for a longer period of time. The breakfast buffet was delicious and again, we had the beautiful view while we dined.
Review 17:The footpaths kept getting messed up by bush turkeys but can't say it made me disappointed as can't be helped.
Review 18:The professionalism of the staff but still very warm and welcoming. Also I left something behind and it was posted to me within a week.
Review 19:Can't say a bad thing
Review 20:Wonderful friendly staff couldn't do enough for us very clean room comfortable bed great views from our bayview room with spa very good food just the best place to stay in airlie beach
Review 21:We requested the breakfast box for the early leave at 4.30am . But i felt very disappointing because we have just received fruit, Yogurt & Corn chips platter and all these are hard to carry.
Review 22:Corridors were quite noisy & pool could do with upgrading, very old fashioned ladder into pool
Review 23:The location is fantastic & the views amazing. Great to watch boats, yachts & jet skis.
Review 24:Cleanliness was generally ok but for toilet and bathroom area. Found hair in toilet and bathroom floor!
Review 25:Location and ocean view room. Garden room was confining.
Review 26:There isn't much to complain about. The wifi connection wasn't very good but it wasn't a major deal. The breakfast is pretty standard. But still good!!
Review 27:The location is unbelievable. We had the best ocean views. Having breakfast with the water just 10m from you is amazing. We even saw a turtle while lounging by the pool. The hotel is also walking distance to the lagoon and a bunch of restaurants.
Review 28:Location, location, location! Coral Sea is 5 min walk into town one way and 5 min to Abell Point Marina other way. Bay view spa room was very comfortable with large deck and great view. Also these rooms face east so cool in the afternoon to sit on deck. Well equipped mini kitchen with dishes, cutlery, press coffee bot, fridge, sink. No cooking facilities though. Continental breakfast included has everything you could want except eggs and bacon. Lots of fruit, yogurt, breads, croissants, muffins, cereals, cheeses, meats, etc. Very helpful and friendly staff. Wonderful pool with shade and lots of loungers.
Review 29:Was expecting a 2 bedroom apartment. It was 2 connected 1 bedroom apartments.
Review 30:Staff was courteous & helpful. Adequate kitchen facilities. Comfortable. Good location.
Review 31:When I booked through Booking.com it was breakfast included and upon booking into the Coral Sea Resort it was confirmed breakfast was included. We had breakfast the first morning but the second morning we were refused...it was then that it became apparent that on the confirmation it read no meals included - yet we were in the 'system' originally to have breakfast. Very disappointed with it all.. We found someone's sock behind the bedroom door. Won't be staying there again.
Review 32:Nice view
Review 33:Wi-Fi available however password upon daily request, poor connection inside the rooms, best only on the balcony.
Review 34:Location, easy access to resort centre. Helpful staff, Wide range of activities in the surrounding area (trips to Whitsunday Island, Great Barrier Reef etc.)
Review 35:The coridores were noisy and very echoie. Possible put guest who were attending the function on the lower levels as the noise travelled through the room making our night very restless!
Review 36:The location was beautiful and the access to the boardwalk was well worth it!!!
Review 37:Payed decent amount of money to stay in a ocean view room but ended up looking back at airlie over looking rocks and didn't feel comfortable using the spa because of the old guy watching us from his balcony next door. The rooms are out dated and need attention
Review 38:Lunch at the restaurant
Review 39:Acting manager Rodney was very rude and unhelpful. I would not recommend staying there. I had mistakenly booked two rooms and he charged me for both. As a result I cancelled an upcoming stay.
Review 40:Room service
Review 41:Staff are friedly but sometimes it took a while to get service
Review 42:Great view from our room and the room was very well appointed. I really liked the fresh cooked bread for breakfast
Review 43:Our room rate included full breakfast. On check-in, we asked time of breakfast and were advised 6.30am, BUT, on arrival for breakfast at 6.30am, we were told orders for full breakfast aren't taken until 7am. As we had to be at Port of Airlie by 7.30am, this was not an option for us. We asked to order earlier so a full breakfast was available at 7am, but we were told we couldn't order early. Therefore, we missed out on a full breakfast. We feel we didn't get full value for money.
Review 44:No power points close to tables to charge devices. I ended up charging my devices inside the drinks cabinet. wifi very patchy in room. Wifi code for conference room didn't work at all. No privacy between my bedroom window and another's balcony.
Review 45:Able to stay and hold conference in same place.
Review 46:The shower was a little small.
Review 47:The view from our balcony was superb and the bed was as soft and comfy as a marshmallow cloud. The breakfast buffet was the best continental spread I've had the pleasure of indulging in!
Review 48:Restaurant. Food expensive, poorly prepared. Staff seem to try hard but under resourced. Asked for ice buckets to our room. Never turned up... Ordered Coffee with Breakfast, Never turned up.... Facilities in room were minimal. No DVD/CD player as advertised (Room215). No washing up liquid. Not adequately cleaned when serviced. The phase "Resort" is incorrect. More like pub accommodation. They seem to focus more on the function (wedding) guest that normal guest. Because its Queensland smoking is allowed in rooms and balcony. So our time in the spa and on the balcony was spoiled by other guests below smoking. Would not recommend.
Review 49:Location
Review 50:Wedding seem to be every day - no problem on the day. But prior and after very noisey, bad language and seemed to gather in groups around pool impossible to go around. They also had no consideration for other guests
Review 51:Wonderful restaurant beautiful steaks and service
Review 52:Very poor housekeeping, poor attitude of staff, one minute helpful the next indifferent, there seems to be no supervision of staff and therefore it falls to young people to manage themselves. I had to complain to the general manager and received one night re-compense, but this is not what we wanted, plain old fashioned good service would have been better.
Review 53:It is at the best location at Airlie Beach. Great views overlooking the Coral Sea. Close to all amenities and what the Whitsunday's have to offer.
Review 54:Wifi wasn't up to standard, we needed a new code daily and very poor reception, I was quite dissapointed as I was counting on it. On arrival there was a big dead huntsman spider on the balcony, it was still there on departure, the cleaning wasn't up to standard on the bathroom either, lots of very small ants. We could tell that around the basin they didn't clean as hairs were still there as they were on the bathroom floor too.
Review 55:The view
Review 56:Sick of hotels taking and keeping my deposit for over a week. Why do they need my $100? They take it instantaneously, they should give it back instantaneously.
Review 57:We stayed in one of the double outside spa suites which was so relaxing after a day of sightseeing etc. The suite was just beautiful with plenty of room and with everything you could possibly want! I would definitely recommend staying there anytime. The staff were helpful and friendly and the views were to die for, even where the meals were served. I will be returning to the Coral Sea Resort as it has everything and it isn't far from the main shopping areas. When staying at Airlie Beach it is the only place to stay!
Review 58:Lovely room and very pleasant staff. I loved this place, was just the right distance from town centre and the marina. beautiful views. Will definitely stay agin.
Review 59:Continental breakfast was limited, wifi did not work in our room, some staff were excellent, some were less friendly
Review 60:Beautiful views, Degustation menu in restaurant, cocktails wathcing the sunset from the jetty
Review 61:The restaurant menu choices were a bit pretentious for my liking. Also I was overcharged at the bar and when I pointed this out I was given a refund but got no apology.
Review 62:Location and view were fantastic. Rooms were clean and spacious.
Review 63:Slow Wi-Fi. Restaurant was slow and quality variable. Worst bread and dips we have ever had. Mains OK.
Review 64:Amazing views from the sea view rooms. Easy walk to town but quiet location which we liked. Free parking under cover.
Review 65:We thought breakfast was included As wS but only tropical Would've been nice to have hot option buffet too
Review 66:Location Staff And food were all great!!!
Review 67:Breakfast would have been more appreciated if there was a hot item or two, such as eggs and bacon/sausages.
Review 68:Bed was very comfortable and location was very nice.
Review 69:The view of the sunset is magnificent. The pool area is excellent, and the comfy seating undercover on the pier is the perfect place to curl up with a book.
Review 70:- Nothing
Review 71:- Service was excellent - We talked several times with the manager. He's a great person! - Location is beautiful and perfect - Breakfast is nice
Review 72:The bed was a bit too soft. The free wifi didn't work in our room.
Review 73:Our room was great value for money. We loved the location of the hotel it couldn't be better. Overall had a great stay & would love to go there again.
Review 74:Previously stayed in a family unit at Coral Seas Resort and this was much nicer than the rooms in main building
Review 75:Breakfast and staff at restaurant and reception were most pleasant and helpful. Location was terrific
Review 76:Receptionist was not the most pleasant man. All other staff were friendly. Do not choose a garden room.
Review 77:Fabulous view. Dining room over looking pool and ocean. Plenty of large towels provided. Pool towels also.
Review 78:Glad breakfast was included because the restaurant is rather expensive
Review 79:Location, view, size and comfort of room. I liked being a short walk from Airlie Beach town centre and from Abell Point Marina
Review 80:Nothing.
Review 81:We had a 2 bedroom apartment for 4 adults, which provided plenty of room, a wonderful balcony and great views. All the necessary amenities. The staff was very helpful suggesting and booking the tours. The ground were beautiful and the staff very attentive.
Review 82:Excellent location ... very good service and comfortable rooms. Easy walk to central Airlie ... will definitely stay here again should we return
Review 83:Cooked breakfast is not included and is quite expensive.
Review 84:We visited Airlie Beach to go on a sailing cruise of the Whitsundays and stayed the night before and after the cruise. The location was perfect - the hotel is away from the noise and buzz of the main street, but is right by the sea and less than five minutes' walk from where most of the sailing cruises depart (Abel Point Marina). We had a lovely, 'courtyard view' room, which in fact had a nice sea view. The room was very comfortable and clean and exactly what we needed (also, great value for money). The dinner at the restaurant was quite good and clearly one of the better dining options in the town. We had a lovely time sitting by the pool with our cocktails, watching the sun go down. A really lovely hotel!
Review 85:Bed was a little to soft for my liking but everyone is different
Review 86:Perfect spot right on the water very relaxing if your looking for the ultimate relaxing romantic getaway get a spa suite worth every cent nice open spacious room spa on balcony looking over the water very romantic or just chilled
Review 87:Had the dirty grubs walk in while my partner and I were sleeping at 3 am. Nothing but rude service and cold flavourless meals to go with the staffs customer service skills.
Review 88:The toilet is effectively in the bedroom! Not sure why hotels do this, but I would strongly suggest they rethink the layout, for both privacy and hygiene reasons. Just having a half-shutter between the bathroom and the bedroom means that there is very little privacy and it is impossible for one person to use the loo without waking the other at night. (Plus it's not very romantic to be able to hear everything that your partner does!) For this reason alone we wouldn't stay here again unless they change the layout, which is a shame as it's a lovely hotel.
Review 89:Beautiful views from the room and pool, friendly staff, undercover loungers on the jetty, good food in the restaurant, easy walk to town
Review 90:Use of coffee capsules instead of brewed coffee is one of two things I didn't like out of the whole 5 days were we there. The other was that the Wi Fi kept dropping out and also doesn't work well with Apple products.
Review 91:View was wonderful. Could hear the water lapping against the land - very soothing; kept the sliding door open all night and had no insect problem. Room was luxurious and worth the money; staff was very pleasant and breakfast (included in the price) was great.
Review 92:There was Nothing at this hotel to dislike. A perfect getaway in a fabulous area near Airlie Beach and the Whitsundaay Islands.
Review 93:The staff were absolutely brilliant. Everyone bar none, we're so helpful happy and friendly.
Review 94:The staff is wonderful and will do anything to help you. Close walking distance to town and the Marina. Nice kitchenette in room and great breakfast included in the morning.
Review 95:we weren't allowed to check a little early, even though the room was ready. Wifi didn't work properly Even though the stay was pre-paid, $100 was held...why? Breakfast was continental only, need to check when the deal includes breakfast?
Review 96:The location was fantastic
Review 97:The restaurant served "gourmet" meals for dinner. They were close to inedible. Stupid I would say. Perhaps the chef thought he was a Michelin Star...he wasn't. Noted that hardly anyone came to dinner. We only went once. It seemed that most of the guests also went only once. On the other hand lunch and breakfast were fine.
Review 98:Stayed at a weekend & lovely to see but too many weddings or birthdays celebrations going on - felt you were in the way
Review 99:Beautiful views, lovely grounds
Review 100:Parking was not abundant as stated in ads - we could not fit our car into under car park as they were too small and other guests parked incorrectly - no parks left outside so parked in disabled park
Review 101:The room had a great view of ocean etc
Review 102:Overpriced breakfast -if wasnt included in room rate would not have paid for. Cocktails excellent if a bit pricier than everywhere else. General service lacked enthusiasm and no service when having drinks down on jetty area.
Review 103:Lovely views of the ocean and an easy walk into town. Close to buses to travel so no car needed
Review 104:The wifi didn't work on my phone
Review 105:The location was probably the best thing about this hotel. So handy to walk into town and being so close to the water, it was beautiful having breakfast downstairs. Some of our friends stayed at a hotel on the hill and said they wished they had stayed with us!
Review 106:the bed was really soft... I prefer a harder bed but I still slept!
Review 107:We were upgraded to the Ocean Suite which was lovely... the staff were all lovely At dinner I had to send my dinner back & the second time around I said it was ok...so the chef came out and checked on why I still wasn't 100% happy and then he took it back again & it came out delish!
Review 108:Nothing it was perfect
Review 109:The staff were really friendly and they upgraded us free of charge so we all had a proper bed to sleep on. Thank you we had a great time.
Review 110:Room is very clean but aged. The buffet breakfast wasnt great. Head to mr bones for breaky. There are better accommodation options in town
Review 111:View and location
Review 112:It was our wedding day so tried to book to check in early, staff pretty much said bad luck . Then after we checked out found a lunch charged to my credit card for 160 dollars 4 days after we had checked out.
Review 113:The garden view room was a view of the brick wall of an opposing building creating a very dark and unappealing room. We had to keep the door to the balcony closed as there was a very noisy compressor located directly outside of the room. Very disappointed.
Review 114:Location and easy walking distance to township.
Review 115:Very clean, comfortable rooms, great food variety during breakfast. Staff extremely helpfull on booking tours and transportation. Beautiful view from the pool and garden over the sea. Very close to the main shops and restaurants.
Review 116:The resort it situated in the most beautiful setting. Accommodation is very clean and tidy, with outstanding views. It offers everything you need and the staff are all very friendly. The local wildlife is very pleasant and added just that little bit extra to our stay. We will definitely be back!
Review 117:The breakfast was a little disappointing for the money. The pool is looking a bit tired and could do with an upgrade
Review 118:The room 442 penthouse was spacious and spa on balcony great. Staff were nice.
Review 119:At the time we came to the Resort they had maintainence work going on. A digger was shifting stones from 8.00 am in the morning to 4.30 pm in the afternoon from one place to another directly at the pool area. It was super loud and the exhaust fumes totaly annoying. We complained about that and the receptionist was constantly refering us to booking.com and blaimed them for not having us informed... Thats not the customer service we would have expected! A drink at the bar or at the pool would have been totaly ok as excuse but just blaming others...
Review 120:The hotel is a perfect place for a couple of days to relax. Its beautifully situated and the pool area is really nice with the view on the water. The hotel restaurant in the evenings is highly reccomended! The food is super good and price wise totaly ok for what you get!
Review 121:Room dated needs maintenance. Wifi frustrating and dropped out. Breakfast included was continental, cooked was extra $14. Really disappointed, we expected it to be 4-5 star.
Review 122:Location is fabulous, with amazing views.Short walk along boardwalk to top of Airlie Beach main street.
Review 123:We went for a dinner at the restaurant and the staff was really rude! Talking loudly about our choice of food and the fact that we didn't order enough. Also I expected more from the breakfast buffet.
Review 124:The hotel has a really good location and everything was very clean.
Review 125:there was a wedding going on below us, which we could hear (very loudly) from the balcony. which is completely fine, I hope everyone there had a great night - I'm not bemoaning the wedding. The problem is that I would not have known about it unless I specifically asked the staff - our plan was to have a relaxing night away with my partner but had to change plans last minute and go out due to the disruption downstairs. a bit of notice would have been nice.
Review 126:room was nice, great view
Review 127:cooked breakfast wasn't included
Review 128:gorgeous facilities, right by harbour where yachts leave from and with spectacular views. We had a twin room which had two double beds- very spacious!
Review 129:A great resort to stay in Airlie Beach, walking distance to lagoon and main shops. Pool area was great to relax with attentive staff for those holiday beverages. We travelled with a toddler and she loved the kiddy pool. Breakfast was nice too. I would definitely stay here again.
Review 130:Having to leave!!!
Review 131:Being able to eat, swim and relax all looking at the amazing blue water of the stunning Coast line! Beautiful resort close enough to walk, but far enough to be quiet.
Review 132:Nothing. Ever thing spectacular. Views, food and staff amazing.
Review 133:Absolutely everything. Friendly staff as soon as we arrived. Daily room service was amazing.
