The Point Resort sells fast on our site. The Point Resort Bargara Beach is located right on the beautiful Coral Coast, at the southern tip of the Great Barrier Reef. Its facilities include an 18-hole championship golf course.
Guests can choose from luxurious 1-, 2- and 3-bedroom apartments that all have been designed for the Queensland climate. All apartments are well-equipped and have a balcony.

Review 1：The apartment wasn't very clean. Cockroach in dryer door that had been there a while, sand was thick through the dryer, toe nail clipplings in between lounge cushions, mould through curtains therefore made bedroom smell terribly as it also got afternoon sun, slimy stuff on the tiles in the main bathroom shower, fridge smelt like off milk, key swipe cards weren't constantly working (we did recieve a notice this was being fixed the day we were leaving) dishwasher was filthy and with the first wash it completely covered all dishes in black (like someone had previously put a baking tray through the wash and the dishwasher filter hadn't been emptied), dishes were all dirty with dried food on the plates, cups, cutlery etc, white tissue paper through out carpets within the apartment. I think a 'spring clean' would be beneficial and possibly a new lounge as it was uncomfy for all of us (7) to watch television. Also the wifi wasn't working not a issue for me personally but the teenagers weren't impressed. Keeping in mind this was peak time however we weren't impressed.
Review 2：The location, staff and spacious apartment were great. The pool was lovely and refreshing. Plenty of seating too which was great. Putt putt was enjoyable. This is a very family friendly and easy going place to stay. The beach and shops are within easy walking distance so no car is needed. Parking was easy and plentiful.
Review 3：Just needs abit of maintenance and it would be perfect! (eg. Clean the rangehood (had fat build up) ;dust the shutters; replace frayed carpet and curtains,fix aircon remote in main bedroom,wash the walls)
Review 4：Lovely ocean views from top floor. Short stroll to the beach. Has internal dryer and washing machine. Well stocked kitchen. Quiet. Good pool and BBQ facilities.
Review 5：Room 510, the carpet was wet when I arrived (where the walkway tiles meet the carpet) and I slipped over on the tiles when walking from the carpet onto the tiles. Could have been alot worse than it was. No damage.

Great BBQ/picnic facilities by the beach with extensive path system for riding/running/walking. Spacious accommodation with good self-catering and laundry facilities.

Review 19：Failed to inform us about the pool not being available the week of our stay, there were no doonas on the beds just a sheet, rooms only get cleaned after 1 week stay, swipe cards did not work 100 %, there was not enough cutlery in the kitchen and the "free" wifi would not work on any of our devices.

Review 21：Karen didn't like her bed, but mine was ok, I guess because Karen sleeps on a double bed at home, maybe the size was an issue for her...there were no doors on the room either so we couldn't close off the bedroom if i got up really early, and the sun was shining in.. otherwise everything was ok..

Review 23：Room was "tired", needed some TLC. Some repairs had been carried out but were visibly dodgy. Airflow in 3rd bedroom non-existent.

Review 25：The pool was under renovation & we were only advised this when we arrived. The BBQ took forever to cook. A steak that normally takes 15mins to cook took over 1 hr and then we still had to finish cooking it in the oven.

Review 40：Wasn't advised pool facilities were out of order when booking. Couldn't use any resort facilities as on site manager was never there and when they were they were rude. The unit we were allocated had holes and patches to the walls. Not very happy for nearly 350 dollars for 2 nights stay.

Review 43：On arrival and stocking the fridge it did not work. The room so stuffy, couldn't open doors to let in air as there are no fly screens. The toaster was burnt black and had not been clean for some time. The washing machine didn't turn off and was rusty and leaked water.. The blankets looked like some one had intercourse on them and thy hadn't been cleaned. Getting service to the room is difficult as you have to wait till 5p.m. when the manager leaves for the day as he has no relief The general cleanliness is of poor grade..
Review 44：The location was ideal but the room way to small and no view.
Review 45：Stayed here previously and was not provided a rollaway bed for 5th person in my party (2 br apt). This time asked specifically for it but had to call after hrs service as we got in on Sunday. This was provided but many springs missing so it had a badly sunken middle. We tried to fix by alternating springs but did not work. Called again but was told it was the last one and we can at best place the mattress on the floor until the next day when a bed would become available. It never came so another night (our final) for my daughter on the floor. Got a refund for the bed but the money was not the issue because we had paid already. It was just poor that their guest had to sleep on the floor! This was my only issue. Everything else was spot on.

Review 53：The outdoor area of our ground room apartment could be more appealing. Weeds growing out of pots and tiles about to fall off are not a good look. We had no mobile reception inside the room. This could be pointed out prior to the visit so I could organise contact. I needed to be contactable.

Review 62：Have stayed on upper floors previously & not really an issue on upper levels but it is Very noisy in the ground floor apartment. You could hear everyone talking, kids running through corridors, while they came & went on this floor & on the other floors, echoes through the building central courtyard. Main bathroom has an enormous step into the bath / shower which could be dangerous for older people or those with mobility issues.

Review 66：laundry facilities - too small a clothes airer, could not use the tumble dryer as would set off smoke detector within 5 minutes of starting. Not enough crockery / cutlery. Only setting for 6 which meant you could not utilise the dishwasher. No exhaust fans in bathrooms so the steam would also set off the smoke detector.

Review 68：I booked for 3 nights because my elderly mother- 91years and I wanted a room with an ocean view. To my surprise and disappointment we were assigned a room on the ground floor and which was virtually on the footpath.I assumed when booking online that a room with an ocean view would have at least been up on a higher floor. They did have a no vacancy sign posted outside so I did not go back to reception to inquire, but waited till morning to ask if we could be moved to a higher floor.The man on reception was abrupt just as he was at check in and stated they were booked out until Sunday- strange as there was a vacancy sign for the rest of our stay.The bedrooms an bathrooms were so dark that you needed to have the lights on. I had trouble trying to find the pool area as the signage was very confusing and extremely difficult to access as the fire door was hard to open. The man on reception appeared to me as if he couldn't be bothered. For goodness sake it is hospitality! A smile costs nothing and goes a long way.
Review 69：The apartment is situated across from the ocean so it is in a lovely position with wonderful views through the pandanus trees and she oaks and very quiet. Great for walking.

Review 82：Needs a bit of maintenance, maybe some TLC from the managers. Verandah was filthy, we may never have noticed as the verandah door was almost impossible to open. Car park and surrounding areas need some cleaning, and look like they haven't been cleaned for a while. Make sure you check in if you are going to be checking in on a weekend after 2:30pm. "Reception" closes very early. Don't bother trying to have a bath, unless you like tepid water.
Review 83：Not enough blankets for the middle of winter. The cot was supplied but not put up and had no linen. Struggled to set it up. Had to get help from another guest. Bird droppings all over verandah and undercover parking.

Review 91：Fridge had leaked water across the floor & under the carpet, made the place smell musty & was a bit dangerous. Fridge had obviously not been cleaned for sometime, it was fully iced up & when we cleaned it there was paper stuck to the freezer. Staff made a cursory attempt to clean-up, but left it mainly to us. Didn't come back, or even ask, if it was working. Couldn't use the dryer to dry our towels as it was missing the filter. They did give us clean towels after complaining. Foxtel didn't work and finally after two requests, was fixed the day before we left, but the quality of the picture was so bad it wasn't worth watching. One female staff member was helpful, the other two male ones we encountered are in the wrong industry! One did nothing & the other was in particular quite rude, not even acknowledging our existence. The design of the building makes it extremely noisy, banging doors echoing. The partition between the bedroom & the lounge area was missing, not able to watch TV whilst someone was in bed. The place is looking a bit run-down, definitely does not deserve its 4 star rating. Just as well we got it at a Bookings.com discounted rate!

Review 95：We realize that with fire doors, they must be self closing, and with being built around an atrium, noise does echo, however, we found the constant banging of doors annoying. Fortunately, it did ease off after dark. Also, would have liked some sort of separation between living room & bedroom.

Review 103：The aspect of the unit, 2 balconies. the size of the bedrooms were OK. The location of The Point was good. For the cost of $1096 for 6 nights, it was average.
Review 104：2nd bedroom had very narrow beds that were most uncomfortable. 2 single adults in 2 rooms meant pne had a great bed, thr other poor. No facecloths.

Review 139：Management guy very rude to guests booking in ahead of us. Our 1 bedroom unit had the ensuite locked off. Ken gave creative reasons why, then gave us the choice between access to the ensuite OR the washing machine & drying (in other bathroom down hallway). When we did gain access to ensuite spa bath was very dirty - didn't use it. Bed hard. Lounge stained & uncomfortable. Unit presentation very tired & unattractively bland. Stay at own risk.
Review 140：Door, to apartment, had to be forced to get inside.Carpet ripped and filthy.Lounge soiled. Toilet seat needed replacing a couple of years ago. Entire room smelt musty and stale all the time. Not worthy of a 4.5 star rating.
