Reviews for Hotel Soperga

Review 1:We liked this hotel because of: 1. Convenient location (near nice part of Milan, train stations, park, shopping etc) 2. Very friendly staff 3. Architecture and style 4. Nice and clean room

Review 2:Nothing negative to mention.

Review 3:The modern furniture, the breakfast buffet was full and coffee excellent. The electronic info device was very helpful, too.

Review 4:too far from the station, and rooms very small and on the rear of the premises. There was an off on to up-grade for 25€ but this was not offered to us.

Review 5:Buffet Breakfast

Review 6:Rooms were uncomfortably hot and despite having individual controllers in each room it wasn't possible to adjust the temperature.

Review 7:They allowed us to check in early and were helpful in recommending an authentic ristorante to dine at.

Review 8:- Wi-fi is available, but not very fast and convenient in use (password and login are needed for every device, 1 is enough only up to 500 mb)

Review 9:- Quite close to Centrale and Buenos Aires - Very clean rooms, good bed

Review 10:WiFI blanks out. Does not hold out 24 hours usually. Immediately took credit card payment in advance. I wished to wait until the end and disburse many surplus Euros.

Review 11:Good local restaurants recommended by staff. Easy walk to Centrale,

Review 12:The bathroom/* toilet for twin rooms are way too small!

Review 13:Location was good, with very helpful staff and clean rooms.breakfast choice is good but could do with toast.

Review 14:The hotel got fairly good reviews on booking.com and tripod visor, which is why I booked it. Unfortunately I do not share the opinions of these reviews.Arriving a Friday night at 21.30hrs I was met by a receptionist who did not see fit to lift his eyes from his computer screen to greet me with a ciao. He begrudgingly got up from his chair and asked for my passport. Asking if an iron/board to iron out some wrinkles in a shirt before going to dinner was available, I was told that due to a fire some years ago they did not have an iron in the hotel(?!). Finally installed in my room I realised I did not have a wifi access code written on my keycard folder. I then called the reception and was told that the wifi code was personal and that I had to pick it up at the reception. At the reception again I realised that the 'personal code' was indeed not personal but a standard 24 hour code. The receptionist then laughingly said that 'yes, I forgot to give you that'. No excuses, but a good on my expense. His entire attitude was that he could not care less about servicing the hotels clientele. In possible defence of the rest of the staff I must say that he was the only member of the staff that I dealt with during my two nights stay, so I don't really have an opinion about the rest of the staff. As for the standard of the hotel: it's a 3 star hotel that has seen its hey day a while back. In other words, you don't get that much value for your money. The lobby is overcrowded with old style furniture(not the fab old style unfortunately). The room was ok but small (I had a single room though). The toilet had running water, the shower cabin door could not close properly, the water in the shower running extremely slowly, the sink was so huge I had difficulties getting to the toilet and the air con was so noisy I had to turn it off to sleep.

Review 15:Good points was the proximity to the central station. The room was fairly clean and that the breakfast selection was quite alright, albeit a bit heavy on the sweet side - remembering this is Italy.

Review 16:The hotel had no channel in English and as a Muslim I couldn't really get something to eat for breakfast, almost all the things I wanted had pork in them. The station was too far from the hotel.

Review 17:Nil

Review 18:The receptionists weren't friendly and informative. They didn't inform us that the password of internet keep changing every day. The WLAN was also very slow. They didn't tell us where the restaurant for breakfast is and breakfast time if we don't ask for it. The breakfast was the worst one. It seems all the foods have been bought from supermarket or bakery (cereals, bread, juice, cake). The air conditioner was turned off centrally. We must go down asking the receptionist to turn it on. When we asked to turn it on, the personal didn't look so happy. It should be up to us whether we want to use it or not. Because it already includes in the price. This is the first time I experience this kind of problem. In the bathrom there were not enough toiletries. The elevator is too small. It only fits two persons with small bag.

Review 19:just the location, close to main train station and metro

Review 20:They front desk gave us excellent advice where to eat at lunch and in the evening. Beds and bathroom were large and perfect ( superior category). Just a short walk from the metro 1 line or the train station.

Review 21:Our group were undecided as to whether this hotel was great value for money, although not too bad for central Milan.

Review 22:Clean and effective. Rooms have been recently refurbished. Ideal location to access Central station. Excellent unassuming trattoria nearby.

Review 23:Wifii was not very good. Paid service was not much bettet.

Review 24:Location. Close to central station and metro but not too close. Front desk staff, particularly the older gentleman were excellent.

Review 25:One staff member at the reception was rather unpleasent The wifi was spotty and so slow that it was essentially useless.

Review 26:Close to the central station

Review 27:The Hotel is near to the Central Station and has a good Connection to the local Transportsystem. The breakfast was large for an italian Hotel. The staff was friendly and the Restaurant next to the hotelentrance is very good.

Review 28:Small and noisy room, relatively dirty bathroom, aircondition not working, heavily overpriced. A notice in the room suggesting I should have callrd the hotel for better prices instead of using booking chains (like Booking .com)

Review 29:Location fairly close to the railway station. The lobby lounges were fine

Review 30:Internet system is not so good. I didn't feel comfortable walking alone around the station after the sun is gone. Nothing happened but there are homeless people around the station (police too).

Review 31:Great coffee! Nice people.

Review 32:Like most hotels, the drain system in the bathroom is not very good, it took sometime for the water to drain away. In addition, the air-condition near the door made quite big noise. Although the hotel was quite serious about the issue, their action was not fast enough. Finally, I really hope that there can be a toast oven for breakfast.

Review 33:It is near the central train station, so it is quite convenient to travel around. You can take the M1(red) subway to Milan 2015 EXPO and also can use M2 or M3 lines to other attractions, such Milan Cathedral and Sforzesco castle. The room for three persons (family) was quite big and clean.

Review 34:The Reception employee of Hotel Soperga Milan ,Riccardo Cairoli, is very unfriendly and rude. We got no support from Booking.com hotline. It can not be that the hotel use the credit card with out our permission . The credit Card number was given only to ensure the reservation. As we came to the hotel the receptionist was confronting us instead of offering a service. Also we got very small room where the Bad is dirty and with mold (schimmelbefall). We are very disappointed of booking.com who left us with no genuine support .This is the last time that we use the service of Booking.com.

Review 35:Lage

Review 36:The room we were in must have been close to the main air conditioning unit as we heard the sound of running water all night. I brought this to the attention of the hotel reception and they checked in the rooms above to make sure it was not a shower or toilet running, but we were not offered another room (unfortunately), The car parking facilities require you to leave your car key with them as they double park the cars in a small garage but this is open 24h with an attendant keep watch.

Review 37:Clean decent sized rooms, comfortable bed

Review 38:The air conditioning did not seem to be working. It was hot over a number of days in Milan and we expected that when we returned to our hotel room we would have the comfort of an air conditioned room but this was not the case.

Review 39:Proximity to Central Station.

Review 40:Buffet breakfast was average, the location was a bit of a walk from centre.

Review 41:The location was close to airport, wifi was good, rooms a great size and clean.

Review 42:Rooms are small. Wifi password needed changing every 24 hrs and the connection kept failing. Staff are efficient but not friendly ( on reception) non description street, out of town but near station.

Review 43:Very modern, clean, well air conditioned. Breakfast good but no cooked food.

Review 44:Convenient, clean and good breakfast. clerks are friendly and willing to render.assistance if you have. With this price, I.am willing to stay for my next trip to Milan.

Review 45:Eduardo the receptionist was rude and condencding to me when I checked in. He actually told me to to check out early even though it says 6 to 12 because the room was fully booked. Further when I asked for his help in shutting the blinds, he said he was not the maid. He is a rude and unpleasant and should not be a welcoming receptionist. Also the bed was extremely hard and uncomfortble. Not my choice of hotel again.

Review 46:Location

Review 47:Overcharged my by 12 euros, which I did not notice until after I left. Through secure.booking had paid ahead full fee, including the city tax of 12 euros. They charged me for the city tax despite my already having paid it. Very disappointed in this overcharge.

Review 48:Comfortable, clean, and lovely triple. Breakfast included deli meat, bread and rolls, cereal, fruit, juices, and coffee/tea. Conveniently located very near RR station and easy access to quick metro ride to get to places of interest.

Review 49:Very small bathroom, shower head was broken. Bad lighting with missing globes. Very noisy room. Staff not really interested in assisting or listening.

Review 50:Not much

Review 51:Hotel have too many steps which make me very hard to move my luggage andthe staff in front office do not offering any help.

Review 52:The facility is ok for the price. The stuff in restaurant is quiet nice.

Review 53:We were given an upgrade to a superior room. Nice furniture, decoration, good breakfast buffet, balcony, good windows (no noise from outside once closed. Very close to Milano Centrale.

Review 54:The neighbourhood is a bit dull, but close to railway station.

Review 55:Airconditioning did work perfect! Delicious breakfast, modern decoration and facilities, clean.

Review 56:A little out of the way, but there is a restaurant 2 doors down at 22 Soperga which holds its own with food anywhere, which compensates for this

Review 57:It's clean, comfortable and good value....what else do you need?

Review 58:Elevator did not go to the "ground" floor, which actually has 2 short flights of steps. It is especially hard when you have luggage. Other than being close to the train terminal, there is absolutely nothing near the hotel. You would have to take Metro into town center. Area did not feel safe. I was pickpocketed at the train terminal. Front desk staff was cordial but not friendly. Did not help with heavy luggage even though we have 2 senior citizens in our group.

Review 59:The free breakfast was a very nice spread. Freshly made cappuccinos were phenomenal. Dinning room staff was friendly. Very close to the main train station; MIlano Centrale. Room was good size. Nice, thick bath towels.

Review 60:The Internet connection is not sufficient, too much slow. The walls of room are too thin and it is possible to hear noise coming from other rooms.

Review 61:Kind and professional personnel; cleanliness of rooms; Location

Review 62:The hotel has a strange floor plan - in the lobby, one has to go up several stairs to reach the elevator and when I reached my floor, I had to pull my suitcase up nearly a full flight of stairs to reach my room. Not recommended for senior travellers.

Review 63:Location was excellent.

Review 64:No problem with internet or receiving email. Big problems with sending very important emails (280 Mb = too much ??): had to use URL and ask for 3 new inlog codes. Noisy italian neighbours in the buildings nearby in early morning.

Review 65:Proximity to central station, bus, metro Safe in the room was an excellent type. Bathroom very good

Review 66:No Variety In The Breakfast Airconditioning stops at certain times Wifi is Weak Staff are barely smiling No Help With The Luggage

Review 67:The Bed was Comfortable,The location is excellent as it is close to the central station however it is not surrounded by shops or anything else.

Review 68:Very helpful staff, room: nice, clean and comfortable, position not in the city centre but close to central station, so very good for moving. There are a few restaurant in the neighborhood, so overall the position is good.

Review 69:Found the room to be rather hot as weather was above average temperatures for the time of year and air conditioning not switched on yet

Review 70:Bar area was comfortable and service friendly. Room was very spacious with a WOW FACTOR Bathroom. Very useful rack for up to 3 suitcases provided; so often there is hardly space to unzip one case without tripping over it

Review 71:Staff could be more attentive, and provide info upon check in eg about the wifi and where the breakfast is served. It was like I was inconveniencing them.....

Review 72:Location is great.breakfast is fine and the rooms are just what you end, especially for the price. I would use them again.

Review 73:Not a great area with no decent restaurant nearby. Did not feel comfortable after dark.

Review 74:Big bed and small balcony overlooking garden. 5 minutes from the very impressive rail station. Good breakfast selection.

Review 75:I would have liked some more fruit options for breakfast, but the other food was. Yummy!!

Review 76:Great value hotel in a good location, right next to the train station and metros! The hotel was very nice and the staff were lovely! The room was fantastic, it was modern style and very clean and comfortable! I would definitely go there again!!

Review 77:The hotel was near the station with easy access to central Milan, there were a few nearby restaurants. The hotel had everything we wanted, good breakfast and the room was very clean and spacious.

Review 78:I was quoted one price by Booking .com & then received a e-mail from the hotel advising me the price would be more expensive. When I challenged them at the hotel that I had a printed copy of the rate from Booking.com they replied they made a mistake. I was not impressed.

Review 79:It was close to the central station & only about 10 minute walk to the subway. Also great restaurants nearby.

Review 80:It was a bit noisy in our room, because it was looking to the street - but it wasn't such a problem.

Review 81:Close to the Central Station and a Metro station, really suitable location. The employes were very polite and helpful. Great conditions for reasonable price :)

Review 82:Very uncomfortable bed, poor airconditioning and the TV kept breaking down.

Review 83:The location is good. Close to Milano Centrale. But then again, there are many others in thr area.

Review 84:Everything was perfect especially the staff who was very helpful and polite. The location was great, very close to train station and metro. We would highly recommend this hotel to everyone.

Review 85:The people at the front desk upon arrival especially the older man. He was not very friendly & he certainly did not make a good impression.

Review 86:The location was perfect as well as the superior room. Well worth the upgrade from a regular double room.Breakfast was excellent with lots of choices.

Review 87:The staff took seriously exaggerated, but they are very polite been malaise healthy and lose big collaboration to help me and take me to the hospital Thank you for helping me

Review 88:A couple of restaurants in the immediate vicinity. Uninviting area after dark for the walk from the train station. Rooms clean, but a little stark. Free WiFi required logging in with a credit card.

Review 89:Staff were very friendly and welcoming, but I do speak good Italian. Not far 5 minute walk from the station and Metro.

Review 90:They only serve breakfast and the restaurant doesn't serve any other meals, so we had to go out for dinner

Review 91:The staff was friendly, all fhe receptionists were helpful and gave us tips about where to go and how to get there. They even gave us a map.The staff in the restaurant was also friendly, very nice and all smiles. The room was cleaned every day,the towels and pillow cases were replaced every day,the bed was very comfortable. We would definitely recommend it to everyone.

Review 92:Scratchy linens and the room got very hot at night.

Review 93:We stayed in Milan for one night and this was a great location - easy access to train station without any drawbacks due to location. Excellent pizza place right up the street!

Review 94:The walls are really paper (you easily hear your neighbor).

Review 95:It was clean and the breakfast was fine. Some of the receptionist were really friendly and lovely. Wi-fi available (need to resign eery 24h). I had a quiet room (no noise from the street).

Review 96:The walls are not too sound-soaked. Could use more of a shower shield in the bathroom.

Review 97:Location to Centrale Stazione is quite adequate for personal logistics. You could tell that money was spent well in modernizing the hotel with the internal decor.

Review 98:this was my second time staying here. Wonderful helpful staff. Fantastic breakfast every morning with a wide variety of meats, cheeses, cereals, yogurts, pastries and cakes. juice and coffees as well. Room was recently renovated and very comfortable. I found the bed a little on the hard side for me but that's just preference. Hotel is close to train station, a few restaurants, and shopping. Within walking distance to the more popular sights. Would highly recommend this hotel.

Review 99:The construction noise early morning but they were reconstructiong the roof and did notify customers.

Review 100:Close to the shopping area Great bar manager guido who helped me with anything I needed. Good breakfast. Close to the train station Close to good restaurants

Review 101:Unfortunately the shower wasn't working so well, and we thought that it is not an expensive thing and the hotel must repair that kind of things. On monday morning it was a little bit noisy because somebody was working in front of our window. Other things were very good and we had a great time there.

Review 102:We had a great time in Milano and Hotel Soperga, and can recommend it to everybody. It is an ideal option for people travelling by train and car. It is located just a 5min walk away from Milano Centrale and also 7min from Loreto metro station from where you take the metro to Doumo and the city centre (only 4 stops).

Review 103:- even though we've booked free cancellation package they've secured the business by blocking an amount of one night service with about 7 days in advance. - some severe demolitions were ongoing up floors even Saturday afternoon, terrible noises.

Review 104:breakfast ok

Review 105:I couldn't connect with the wifi in my room .... though it worked in the lobby. So, only a minor issue .... not a real issue / dislike

Review 106:Close to the Centrale Station, clean, and pleasant staff. In all, it was great value for money as a 3* hotel.

Review 107:Succeed to connect to WiFi, but Skype did not work, (restrictions?). The street is noisy when window is opened for freshen the air inside. But really it doesn't metter. Very good choice for the money.

Review 108:Very clean, well equipped room. Double bed was fantastic :) Very close to Milano Centrale (railway station), 10min to go with our suitcases. Also not far from metro stations.

Review 109:Noisy - poor sound insulation between rooms and floors Rude front desk operator - one out of four that we met during our stay of 5 days was rude - very unpleasant. Came across that he hated his job and the guests are a nuisance. It appears he has no understanding of the meaning "hospitality and service". The others that we met were professional, polite and helpful. Just a shame that the overall experience has to be ruined by an individual employee. He shouldn't be working at the front office.

Review 110:Wifi connection Good breakfast service - always greeted with a smile and very helpful and engaging Renovated room

Review 111:the toilet seat had a crack in it. - I was moved to another room but it should not take a guest to do their quality control work.

Review 112:Location friendly staff quality breakfast large rooms WIFI

Review 113:Room was not the same as was shown in the pictures when booking. Room was dark with very old furnitures. Washroom was congested..

Review 114:Helpful and friendly staff. Good location. Very good restaurant close by recommended by the staff.

Review 115:The insistence on producing the particular credit card with which the booking was made on-line was absurd since the payment had already been completed in full. The staff seemed overly officious, inflexible and lacking in empathy at check-in.

Review 116:The hotel was within walking distance of the railway station and of the shopping areas.

Review 117:This was our first day in Italy, tired and weary from all night travel we were greeted with exceptional service. Our rooms ready, suggestions for food and traveling to il duomo made the rest of the day go smoothly. Little restaurant Down the street Bella Paese was inexpensive and excellent. Don't miss it. Thanks Gianluca .

Review 118:Having to change wifi password each day

Review 119:Good location close to main station. Staff were friendly, helpful and spoke excellent English. Our room was superb, plenty of space, modern bathroom and large comfortable bed. Breakfast was also great.

Review 120:Room was little bit small. But this is only as compared to other countries, as I have found out in Italy the room is a standard size

Review 121:This was our first time in Milan and we used public transport. Soperga is very handy to the main train station and near the Metro station . Staff were very helpful and gave some handy tips on getting around. The room was very clean with all the usual amenities. Would recommend Soperga for any person looking for a reasonable priced clean hotel with excellent staff in a convenient location

Review 122:The elevator could only be accessed after a set of stairs, which was difficult with a suitcase.

Review 123:The hotel is fairly close to the train station and to the bus area for airport transfer, yet still at a reasonable price. The staff was very helpful.

Review 124:Double bed was uncomfortable- two singles pushed together. Over 30 minute walk to Duomo. Very limited number of TV stations available.

Review 125:Good location ONLY for station. Staff were very helpful

Review 126:The AC wasn't working one day so we opened the window but then it was too loud.

Review 127:The breakfast was very good! Their coffee was great!! Ask for espresso or capuchino!! The bathroom was very clean, the beds are comfortable. Good for the money!

Review 128:Inadequate lighting in room from older couple who need brighter lighting.

Review 129:Recently refurbished and very tasteful. Quality linen and furnishings. Very good continental breakfast and helpful staff with good English. Must try local restaurant Bel Parse for authentic Italian food at good prices.

Review 130:We stayed at the room 303, superior twin , very quiet, absolutely new everything. Bathtube. Рядом с чентрале, на мой взгляд , прекрасный вариант для тех, кто приезжает на шоппинг. Берите супериор рум, разница в цене не такая большая , номера намного комфортнее.

Review 131:Had to close the window due to traffic noise and the air conditioning didn't appear to be working.

Review 132:Reception staff very welcoming and helpful. We were able to book in at mid day. Clean modern bedrooms.

Review 133:Everything was just great - location is central, we was given a renovated room even we paid only for a basic one, the breakfast was good enough, personnel helpful, etc. I can highly recommend this hotel for travellers who need to spend some nights near Milano Centrale (in order to be able travel easily).

Review 134:Everything is extremely loud, there seems to be no soundproofing whatsoever. If the upstairs neighbour moves a chair or the next-door neighbour flushes the toilet, it will wake you up.

Review 135:Close to the Central Station and in proximity of public transport (tram, metro).

Review 136:The staff, the food was AWFUL, Fruit salad was SPOILED! Small elevator max 2 people. AC never worked, call front desk and they pretended that they fixed it...simply Awful!

Review 137:Nothing, except location

The Fine Print

Please note, no food can be delivered to the room.
