Reviews for Scorci Di Mare
Review 1:excellent location, really beautiful view just outside the window.Owner is very friendly and give us a lot of good tips of how to experience the area.
Review 2:Absolutely nothing to complain about!
Review 3:Excellent location, just by the sea. Paulo and his friend were very friendly - our train was delayed & we arrived very late (11 pm), but they came to pick us up at the town centre! It was off-season, so we were lucky to get this place. I am sure it will not be available for the summer!
Review 4:wifi was unstable and the speed was slow...
Review 5:location is amazing, staff went out of his way to help us settle and provided so much information for our stay. great experience
Review 6:Na
Review 7:Location and view Met at the train station by Paulo and assistance with luggage provided Communication with Paulo very easy Comfy bed and good wifi
Review 8:Room was large, clean and decor was lovely. Great location close to station. Paolo met us at the station, helped with bags and gave us tips on the best hikes to do. Enjoyed every minute of our stay.
Review 9:Paulo met us at station and carried our luggage. An excellent host, gave us recommendations on where to go and info about Cinque terra, it's wine, food and culture. Perfectly appointed apartment and amazing views from BOTH balconies.
Review 10:Occasionally wifi connection didn't work well.
Review 11:The room was clean & spacious. Beautiful view from the balcony. The apartment is situated close to & overlooking the marina. Paolo was welcoming & a helpful host. He answered all our questions & assisted us with anything we needed - he even helped us with our bags when we arrived & left. We would stay here again.
Review 12:Absolutely perfect location in a very best town in 5 Terre. You can hear the sea outside, have a perfect view on marina. Very good restaurant just on the opposite side of the squere. The owner Paolo is very kind and helpful. It is good to listen his suggestions where to go for shopping, dining, hiking etc. He even helps to carry the luggage to the apartment, which is not easy taking into account the number of steps, you need to walk. Paolo and his wife speak English. The room is nicely decorated and the XIII century house is beautifully renovated.
Review 13:It's a little loud at night as there is a restaurant accross the way, that said, once the restaurant is closed, you can hear the waves lapping the shore---very nice!!!
Review 14:Location was great and the room was clean. There was a table and two chairs which was great for our pre-dinner Prosecco & cheese. The bathroom was spacious and clean. We reached out to Mikhail a couple of days before our arrival. He greeted us at the train station & walked with us to our room. He also provided maps and tons of details on how to get around the Cinque Terre---extremely helpful!!
Review 15:Instructions for the washer in other languages would be helpful. Also- the recommended walk was more difficult than described (586) because of the lengthy downhill track which was very hard on your knees.
Review 16:Location and great orientation to the area. Paolo was very helpful and accommodating. Sunsets are beautiful and the ambiance was spectacular.
Review 17:Shower was small and water pressure was weak.
Review 18:Hosts Paolo and Mikhail were wonderful, professional and very helpful. Location was excellent being right at the marina with beautiful views and hear the waves lapping sleeping with our windows open
Review 19:Everything was fantastic!! The only 'problem' i had was that i hit my head on the cieling in the bedroom (im 6'4" in europe im used to it) but overall we had a delightful stay.
Review 20:Location was wonderful, right down by the water which was a 2 min walk to food, 5 to beach, 8 to train, very accessible
Review 21:No air con which in 38 degrees can be difficult . no real issues. no complaints
Review 22:Met by Paolo the owner at station. He carried our bags to accommodation. Gave us fantastic information and help with the local area. Couldn't ask for a better location. Didn't have a balcony but our windows opened right on to the stunning harbour. Easy access to all the 5 towns by train or boat. stunning hikes for all levels.
Review 23:Smell of drains some afternoons in the Marina area,
Review 24:Closeness to water and sound of waves at night, restaurants close by and easy walk to ferry or train, comfortable accom, washing machine, good wifi
Review 25:Bit of a long walk - did not worry me - but may bother the sedentary - but need to understand its a part of the fabric of this community !
Review 26:Paoli and Michael were so helpful with the bags and local information ! Excellent hosts
Review 27:nothing.
Review 28:Paolo is super nice to carry the luggage for us from train station to hotel. The location and view of the room is excellent. It's very clean, bright and nice balcony. Anyway, I still will book it if I go there again.
Review 29:We loved everything about Scorci de Mare, the people who run it, RioMaggiore, and the place itself. All are charming and one of a kind. From the time we booked it the staff was in constant communication with us, met us at the train station to guide us there and when we arrived and stepped out off the final step our jaws literally dropped as the view opened before us. It's exactly like the photos you see and you get to stay right in it! It's so beautiful, with the crystal clear blue water and boats right there lined up and a cliff side restaurant to watch the most amazing sunset at happy hour with an apertivo, there is a unique rocky beach and a beautiful rainbow of houses perched on a mountain on the sea. All this is viewed from the window of the adorable room for 3. It had plenty of space for 3 of us, a modern updated bathroom, was nicely decorated, with a stocked mini fridge with juice and water, coffee and snacks, we wanted for nothing. The beach, train, ferry, shops and restaurants are all a five minute walk or less. Maggiore was our favorite of all the lovely Cinque Terre Islands, for the local vibe and easy access to everything. I highly recommend you take the ferry to see all of the beauty from the water. If you have a party of two, Scorci de Mare has a unit with a nice balcony looking out over everything. We were also able to store our luggage and go back for it at our convenience which was a huge bonus. This room is located in a lively area right by the waters edge and a restaurant so if you are looking for solitude and a very quiet place this is not for you. However we had no trouble with noise at all or sleeping and enjoyed our room, location and our stay in every single way. I highly recommend it and would love to return again.
Review 30:The room described in the pictures is not truthful. they list two rooms in the same listing. so a room with an extra bed is one of the beds in the picture plus an extra bed from somewhere else. the balcony is also not included. very dishonest. whilst the entrance to the town is close, the parking site the host directs is close to a million miles away and carrying luggage through this town is already challenging at the best of times.
Review 31:good location
Review 32:None.
Review 33:Paolo, the owner, was fabulous. He met us at the train, carried my luggage (there are many steps) and provided history on Riomaggiore. He was GREAT!
Review 34:I loved everything about this place!
Review 35:The location was simply amazing. The town was gorgeous and not very crowded. The people were nice and the views from the room were undoubtedly the highlight of our trip.
Review 36:Although it should have been obvious, this is a vertical place. Many stairs, and very steep streets to walk. Also, room was advertised as 'with balcony'. No balcony, but still good views from window.
Review 37:Being in a place next to the sea, that has a history of hundreds of years. The view of Riomaggiore are exquisite.
Review 38:The parking area is a bit far although it is the nearest and private. Make sure to pack a small pack to go there.
Review 39:The view is gd with very friendly stuff and helpful while arriving. nice stay!
Review 40:In overall, it is great but it is difficult to reach there. The garage is quite safe but far from apartment. If you are here by train, you also will take lots of steps, up and down to reach the apartment. And wifi is too slow.
Review 41:Room is in front of the sea. Staff is great and telling you everything about Riomaggiore and Cinque Terre. Traveling 3 towns, Riomaggiore, Manalora, and Vernazza. Riomaggiore is the best in my view but in exchange with lots of steps. I think Vernazza is the easiest to reach.
Review 42:Far away from train station and many steps to hotel, but the staff help us to carry luggage there, he really helps us a lot
Review 43:-Excellence view -Nice room -Nice staff
Review 44:Everything. The most beautiful place we have ever ever stayed, and we've stayed a lot of places! I actually cried to leave, we felt so at home, so blissfully relaxed and spent our days walking, getting the ferries to other villages and sitting on our terrace overlooking the sea drinking wine and eating delicious local food we'd cooked in our little kitchen. I cannot recommend highly enough and I'm already looking forward to returning.
Review 45:Nothing worth noting. Our apartment had a few narrow steep stairs however this was expected being Cinque Terra.
Review 46:Great location by the sea. Very pleasant and friendly experience. Good communication and good recommendations.
Review 47:When I booked online I was under the impression that we would have asmall patio balcony but that was not an option.
Review 48:Beautiful location at harbor Super clean cute apartment with spaciousbathroom, windows view Owner provided us with a bottle of champagne forour anniversary, tea, coffee. It was absolutely perfect!
Review 49:Great great great location. Paulo was fantastic...met us at the train station and assisted with baggage. Not for those who have mobility issues....the view is spectacular. All ammenities and necessities are included - even had tea and coffee packets with cookies! Wifi worked perfectly.
Review 50:A little expensive compared to other paces where we slept in 5 terre or Genova
Review 51:Fantastic place, sleeping in a nice little apartment with 2 windows on the see was a unique experience. Place very comfortable and well furnished. Very convenient from Railway station. Centre of the village. Choose this to stay.
Review 52:We had no cell and when we arrived after dark, we discovered the town gate down and no one out to ask for help! We went to the first home with lights and helpful strangers called Paolo who came to guide us.
Review 53:Location, location, location. Free parking for our rental car. The crashing surf outside our window. Lovely local people in the town. Don't pass up Riomaggiore in favor of the other Cinque Terre towns!
Review 54:Might be difficult for someone who can't climb stairs.
Review 55:Everything was just as described. Owner met us at train station and carried our bags and was there at checkout to help as well. Would highly recommend.
Review 56:Enjoyed the stay very much! The place is truly special, a small village perched on the hills by the sea. Lots of hiking and sightseeing to be done. The hosts were very gracious, and accommodated us beyond the call of duty. Thanks!
Review 57:Nothing, everything was absolutely splendid!
Review 58:This romantic apartment is suited at an amazing location with the most beautiful view of the ocean. All is really neat and clean in the apartment and the owner is more than willing to ensure you have a comfortable stay. There is also a nice restaurant only 20 meters away from the apartment with the best seafood we had on our entire europe trip. We will recommend this apartment to all our friends in South Africa
Review 59:Everything was exceptional but the breakfast, which was fairly standard.
Review 60:Great location overlooking the marina. Very comfortable room. Washing machine was a very helpful addition that I wasn't expecting.
Review 61:The stairs to floor 2 was a bit difficult to go up with luggages.
Review 62:Location was perfect, it was great to go to sleep and wake up to the sound of waves. The view from the room is beautiful.
Review 63:Be aware that you'll be climbing steps no matter where you stay in the cinque terre region.
Review 64:Our host Paolo was fantastic! He went above and beyond to ensure that we enjoyed our stay :) Next time we come to Riomaggiore we will stay longer. It's a beautiful area :)
Review 65:A beautiful little gem, you will not be disappointed! The view from the room is breathtakingly beautiful.... Private Overlooking the sea Comfortable Super clean Little home away home Excellent base to trave Cinque Terre Can't wait to return ....
Review 66:We were escorted from the train station and delivered to a fantastic room with the sound of the sea outside our window. We were given maps and all the info we needed to enjoy our dining and hiking needs.
Review 67:Nothing!!!
Review 68:Everything was perfect not just the appartment but also the owners were awesome and very friendly with us!!! We couldn't expect better stay!!!!
Review 69:Everything - excellent location in a most beautiful and romantic point of one of the most beautiful villages of 5 Terre, close to railway station, friendy and very helpful owners, good restaurant just in a front of the building and many others in 5 T, including the ones recommended by Paolo, just perfect place for perfect holidays, I do not recommend to all who are not scared by lots of stairs
Review 70:Too short of a stay.
Review 71:The location is excellent, it is right beside the harbour. The apartment is spacious, the bathroom is hugh in European standard, there is a sitting area and a washing machine as well. The hosts (Paulo and Michel) are very helpful and accommodating. They also offer a storage facility before or after check in or check out. Very thoughtful!! You can enjoy the sound of the waves at night time and there are some good restaurants right across from the apartment.
Review 72:Everything was perfect!
Review 73:Our stay in beautiful Riomaggiore could not have been better thanks to our wonderful apartment in the harbour. The windows open up to views over Cinque Terre's most picturesque harbour (in my opinion). The staff were wonderful and met us at the train station to take us there, giving us great advice on how to get around and where best to eat (even with some discounts for some fantastic restaurants). they also let us store our luggage in their storage room after checkout until we left. I would recommend Scorci Di Mare for anyone who wants to experience the Cinque Terre in the best way possible.
Review 74:Nothing
Review 75:Bit of a hike and several staircases anticipated, but owner Paolo actually met us at the train and insisted on carrying luggage. Lovely room in ancient but beautifully renovated building right at the Marina. Unhesitatingly recommend.
Review 76:The steep stairs inside the building are a factor depending on your fitness but the hosts offer help with luggage.
Review 77:We loved the experience of being right in the marina square of this lovely Cinque Terre village. It was tempting to leave the shutters/windows open to listen to the sea at night so naturally you sometimes hear lively conversations from nearby cafes or the boat men cleaning their boats but it's all part of the experience and you can always close up for a sleep-in. The decor and facilities in Scorci di mare are peaceful and relaxing and both train and boat are nearby. Grazie Silvia and Paul,
Review 78:I will add some kittchenette to cook your own breakfast or lunch.
Review 79:Staff very helpful and friendly. Location is great. We could even use their storage las day to lock our luggages. GREAT ROOM. at night you sleepwith the sound of the waves. They recommended us great restaurants and best ways for visiting cinque terre.
Review 80:Nothing. Just don't go here if you don't know that this is an area famous for stairs, hills and adventure. We loved the area!
Review 81:Quirky building literally looking over the boat ramp with absolute waterfront views. Fall asleep to the sound of waves on the shore! Close to everything from restaurants to shops and more.
Review 82:Would be perfect if there were air conditioning!
Review 83:Great Location Great view/people watching Great owners/staff Restaurants, grocery stores all nearby Favorite Cinque Terre town!
Review 84:Shower is a little small
Review 85:Great location, spacious room and very helpful owners. They met us at the train station, helped with luggage, recommended restaurants, gave us a map, recommended hikes. It should be noted that Riomaggiore is on a steep hill and this apartment is down maybe 75 steps to the little bay area. The apartment recquires climbing steps up levels. There is a great view. Bed is comfortable. No AC required. Riomaggiore is a great little town, not quit as slammed with tourists as the others
Review 86:We were greeted at the front door of the apartment after travelling from Milano, where we received a through handover. The Location of the apartment was ideally located to explore not only the local village, but also the surrounding villages. The apartment was very cleanand comfortable.
Review 87:Also this site advertises that you can pay by MasterCard, they only accept Visa.
Review 88:Perfect location, lovely spacious room and bathroom, with a washing machine included! Quite close to train station and easily accessible.
Review 89:There are a lot of steps and stairs from the apartment which is near the marina to go anywhere in the village. It can also be quite noisy at night with tourists partying and jumping into the bay/ marina.
Review 90:They views were beautiful and the hosts Silvia and Michael very helpful.
Review 91:There's no air conditioning, and we had to open the windows for the summer breeze, but this let mosquitos in.
Review 92:Great view, clean and comfortable room, very helpful host (who even assisted us with our luggage in this steep terrain).
Review 93:Quite expensive, as breakfast is not included, but it is Qinqueterra! There was loud music from a nearby bar, but we were told this doesnt happen every day.
Review 94:Staff was very helpful and spoke good English (not always the case in Italy). Room was cool, with complementary tea&coffee, nice bathroom.
Review 95:Best view in Riomaggiore. We were met at the train station and guided directly to our room, with help for our luggage. He had all types of local information available. And the view from our room was incredible. I would highly recommend this hotel
Review 96:My family and I definitely like the prime location of the property. It was just steps away from everything. Our units have a common staircase with 3 beds on the second floor and 2 beds on the third floor overlooking the marina. It was ideal for the family of 5. The owner was helpful with details of location of interest, restaurant tips and transportation. Very highly recommended.
Review 97:Nothing worth mentioning, but beware, its hilly.
Review 98:Great location overlooking the harbour. Close to all facilities at the top of the road, resturants, train station. Our hosts were fabulous, met us at the outskirts of the township and directed us to our car park then onto the accomodation.
Review 99:Michael met us at the train station and walked us to our room, which was right by the water, perfect. Long narrow room, but very comfortable. Would definitely stay there again.
Review 100:Fantastic location, awesome view!! Very nice to meet us at the train station prior to check in. We will stay here again if we ever make it back to the Cinque Terra!
Review 101:Noisy location and no AC so needed window open making outside noise worse. Poor quality linens (sheets). $140 euro with no breakfast. Stayed next night just up the street for $109 with AC and breakfast.
Review 102:Staff was great, very helpful. Location was great.
Review 103:It would be more convenient if there are salt, pepper, oil, pan and bowls in the kitchen.
Review 104:The location is excellent and the staff is helpful.
Review 105:Friendly!! We will back! Grazie 1000
Review 106:ery friendly owner. Shared a lot of travel tips and place must go and his story about the place. Very nice view (facing sea)
Review 107:The view is so wonderful and the place is quite easy to find. The host is do helpful and easy
Review 108:Very friendly host. Lovely view, You have to visit this place!
Review 109:Warm welcome, local information provided and help with luggage.
Review 110:Fantastic location - loved being able to hear the sea lapping below when I had the shutters open.
Review 111:Great location, friendly staff, highly recommend this apartment.
Review 112:Loved being right down by the harbour and being able to hear the sea lapping.
Review 113:Would have been great to have a coffee table in the living room.
Review 114:The location si great. Really good spot. Paolo was very nice.
Review 115:Be warned, lots of stairs - so be light on the luggage!
Review 116:The location, the fabulous renovation of a 13th century building. Lovely!
Review 117:Our bed was two singles joined together...
Review 118:The view, the sound of the ocean, the location. Our hosts were SUPER helpful as well.
