Reviews for Riomaggiore Appartamenti
Review 1:Access was quite difficult, very steep stairs, or secret passage through the back of building. Apartment, but quite basic
Review 2:The location was good, in a beautiful town. Overlooking the main street, quite pretty.
Review 3:well, it quite noisy til midnight because of the bar nearby. party guys are so loud.
Review 4:the apartment is so beautiful and big. it is located on the main street of Riomaggiore. surrounding with shops and dines.
Review 5:The lady who checked us in seemed a little bothered to be working at the time.
Review 6:This would be a great place to stay for a week. We only had 2 nights here but you have a kitchen and you are in a great spot for exploring the Cinque Terre.
Review 7:Wifi is not available in the room but is available just up the street. Most people who travel there used facetime or whatapp to connect with family back in the US or wherever. Smart. I would definitely stay here again.
Review 8:The apartment is in a wonderful old building that is authentic and rustic just as all of the buildings are in Riomaggiore. The apartment was right in the area near the restaurants and wine bars. Loved the location and the perfectly comfortable bed and accommodations. I would stay there again. When I travel I don't want the Ritz, I want to stay in a clean apartment like this without the ridiculous granite counter tops and stainless steel appliances. I can get that in the US. I go to Italy to feel a part of the place with all of it's uniqueness. Loved it! The apartment has excellent dual pane windows for quietness at night. I always travel with ear plugs but didn't have to use them to sleep.
Review 9:Location was good apartment wasn't bad basic but it was alright for our 1 night stay. Staff wasn't that welcoming but that's one of them things u get here and there.
Review 10:The location is very convenient for visiting the cinque terre. The window overlooking Riomaggiore's Main Street enhances the experience of living there.
Review 11:The receptionist was a bit cold when we arrived, didn't offer any information about the area.
Review 12:location, new towels and toilet paper everyday, equipped kitchen
Review 13:The bed sheets were soiled with what we thought was dried blood. The clerk at reception immediately deflected the responsibility to the cleaners or housekeeping, not the hotel. Now where I come from the hotel is responsible for both. They we were accused of soiling the sheets...oh brother...I will never stay here again. Horrible Horrible customer service
Review 14:The room was tired and ugly, I understand that these apartments at mainly occupied by heavy drinking college travelers, but have some pride. I understand that air conditioning is not a rule, at least have fans during the 35• + summertime if you are going to charge higher rates. My suggestion, If you are over the age of 25, pick another town in 5T or stay in La Spezia. Oh, there was a breakfast, where?
Review 15:On the Main Street which was nice except for.......
Review 16:No air-conditioning unit in out apartment. Tough in a European heat wave with high humidity. But the harbor was less than 5 minutes down the hill, and you could always cool off in shower.
Review 17:Great location, easy access just off main street of Riomaggorie. Room was fine for an old remote European town in Cinque Terra. Everything a bit old, but that adds to the place. Had a small refrigerator, and a stove top.
Review 18:I never usually complain on these things but the owner was extremely rude. In all of the places we have stayed in the last few months, we never encountered such rudeness and lack of information about the local area, which is not a welcoming start to your expensive Cinque Terre holiday! Also, the facilities were quite dirty (our feet were black from the floor by the first day) and this coming from two young travellers who's standards aren't as high as most :). Stay in Vernazza, it's our pick of the bunch...
Review 19:The kitchenette so we could make some of our own meals (we are traveling for 4 months so will try and save costs where possible)
Review 20:pretty dusty, damp and moldy. My friends allergies were acting up pretty badly. The main reception are IS on the main street of the village, up a hill... but the apartment we were taken to was off the main street and up a substantial number of stairs. The kitchen "stove" was not really anything more than a bunsen burner.
Review 21:spacious, close to the main drag, comfortable bed and the linen was clean. For what you pay, it's ok. It's decent but it's not luxury by any stretch of the imagination.
Review 22:Kitchen was not user friendly, could not turn on stove, electric kettle dirty with old water in it. Bathroom smelled of urine/dirty mop water. Seemed more like a spring break college rental than for a family vacation. A little tlc would go a long way here. Read the fines for leaving dirty dishes!
Review 23:The balcony was nice, bedrooms decent, nice location on main road. Easy access to restaurants, shopping, nightlife. Far enough away from bars so it was fairly quiet in the evening.
Review 24:Getting into the city is only on foot, climbing to the first floor with a heavy suitcase wasn't easiest but i dont think there are any apartments like these with lifts in Riomaggiore!
Review 25:An independent apartment in an old building, centrally located
Review 26:Loud clocktower outside window and some mosquitoes slipped in the room.
Review 27:The location is perfect for access to everything in Riomaggiore and to the transportation necessary to visit Cinque Terre's other towns and to get to larger inter-regional trains.
Review 28:The location is great. You could not ask for more. It is on the main alley, 3 minutes from the train station. Right across the building there is a Coop minimarket, if you need to cater for yourself. The apartment is not very big (we were 5 people-adults), there are two bedrooms with double-beds, a small living room with one single bed and kitchen which is more like a continuation of the hallway. Only one bedroom has direct light, with a beautiful balcony (provided with sunbed and plastic table+chairs) facing the main alley. The big surprise was the second one, which has no windows whatsoever. So, if you're claustrophobic, this room would be a challenge. The bathroom is little but clean, well equipped (consumables, hair dryer, etc.) and newly refurbished. The apartment has also a washing machine, which we didn't use. The receptionist was very nice, all the ladies spoke English, and overall was a pleasant stay. It was not quite cheap nor really spacious for 5, but you have to take into account that it's Cinque Terre, where houses are shallow, almost built-in the stone walls and prices are high.
Review 29:The bed wasn't the best but it was ok. Very squeaky every time someone moved. I always wear ear plugs when I travel so it didn't bother me.
Review 30:The apartment was up one flight of narrow stairs but it wasn't bad. I was expecting much worse from reviews I had read. It was a very nice 2 bdrm apartment. Very clean. Very nice balcony. Staff was very friendly. I would definitely stay there again and recommend it.
Review 31:beds not very comfortable but ok
Review 32:location was perfect - right in the thick of it lots of space (which helps with teenagers) great owner - really friendly balcony
Review 33:The electrical sockets and equipment could be improved as two of three lamps not working/wires exposed. Light bulbs needed replacing. TV 1950s. Apartment dirty above eye level... Bed frame collapsed but all mattresses good.
Review 34:Fun to be in the heart of Riomaggiore. Really liked being in the centre of town. Triple glazing on the windows made a big difference. Liked the fresh towels every day. Good value for money in such an expensive area. We were warned apartment was basic...
Review 35:Kitchen facilities were a let down, couldn't boil a kettle, Should have been much cleaner,
Review 36:Location Open to main street Good beds Lovely bathroom Spacious for two singles
Review 37:Tutto! Appartamento vechio ed inconfortabile! Very inconvenient location especially with luggage. Very hot, no air conditioning and one of the two very filthy fans was broken. The entire apartment smelled musty and the towels smelled of pure vinegar which was very disturbing! This apartment does NOT deserve even one star. The cost is not justified for what you get. We left a day early and forfeited our money for the next night because we could NOT stay any longer. Two small windows allowed no breeze to enter - stuffy, smelly and hot.
Review 38:Niente! Niente! Niente!
Review 39:narrow stairs
Review 40:the location is great as it is located at the main street via colombo. we stayed at a 2 room apartment and really liked it. would ♡ to go back there and stay at the same apartment
Review 41:Since the apartment is on the main street on the 1st floor, it stays noisy well into the night so try to sleep in the rear bedroom and not the front one.
Review 42:Excellent location with shopping right on the main street and excellent staff who were very friendly in helping us out with kitchen appliance and map of the trails. This was an amazing place for our family with 2 young children.
Review 43:We had three bad nights' sleep. The bed was uncomfortable and, though it is no fault of the host accommodation, the bells in a nearby clock tower ring on the hour all night long. To top it off, an even louder clock tower sounds around 30 times at 7 am every morning. If there was air conditioning and the windows could be closed, this might not be such a big deal.
Review 44:We liked the location - easy to get to from train station. Also close to all amenities.
Review 45:We needed two rooms, but they were separated by approximately 100 yards in two different buildings.
Review 46:Spacious apartment that included kitchen utensils, and lots of beds.
Review 47:Black mold around the shower. Real hike up the hill to the hotel with luggage from the train station, then many steps up to the apartment. Not the hotel's fault, though.
Review 48:We liked being on the main (only) street of the town. Apartment had a basic kitchen. Place was fairly clean. Place was extremely charming, rustic, lots of personality. Staff was friendly and competent.
Review 49:The location was excellent and the price was fair for the place
Review 50:Nothing.
Review 51:Clean, good view from the balcony and nice staff. It is good located in the middle of the town and on the main street.
Review 52:No air conditioned, very noisy early each mornin with church bells you thought were in your room, the noise was so close.
Review 53:Location
Review 54:Beautiful place
Review 55:The building is old, that it gets scary a bit at night.
Review 56:The location of the apartment is good.
Review 57:The water can't drain off when taking bath.
Review 58:It was worthy and staff in reception was nice.
Review 59:Being kept awake by noise - people talking, garbage trucks, cleaning up of restaurant below.
Review 60:Nothing!
Review 61:Location, authenticity of local accommodation, welcome by staff - went the extra to provide support, great accommodation & amenities.
Review 62:The apartment I had was above a bar, very noisy until midnight for the 4 nights I was there
Review 63:Great apartment with kitchen
Review 64:The location, the authenticity of the apartment, but with modern amenities, the cost
Review 65:Room was dirty and moldy
Review 66:There was no wifi. The television and heater was not working. We were shivering at night from the cold!
Review 67:The location was great
Review 68:Nothing bad! Jx
Review 69:Location very handy and central. Interesting old building. Comfy beds. Very quiet place. Helpful friendly staff.
Review 70:I very nice area, quiet in the evenings and at night.
Review 71:uncomfortable beds no parking (23 Euro per day) no wifi
Review 72:Good location; fairly large space and nice balcony
Review 73:Good location and satisfying for trip with friends. The wifi does not reach some apartments.
Review 74:Main staff member very rude had to wait 2 hours after check in time and treated us with disrespect. Rest of staff were nice
Review 75:Good location
Review 76:no wifi
Review 77:good location, nice staff
Review 78:price
Review 79:staff, location
Review 80:When we arrived to the apartment it wasn´t cleaned and we had to wait over an hour to get in. We asked for a discount but didn´t get any. otherwise the apartment was cute and in a good location. The younger lady at the reception was very polite and nice:)
Review 81:The apartment was very humid. And the bathroom was not the cleanest. When you would take a shower water would get in the floor everywhere. The rooms are not very sound proof either, so if your a light sleeper I wouldn't stay here.
Review 82:It was right on the Main Street where everything was. And it fit 6 very comfortably! You also got clean towels everyday.
Review 83:My group of friends and I LOVED the apartment we stayed in. It was the perfect location (on the main strip of Riomaggiore), it was safe, it had a beautiful terrace for us to hang out on, and it was extremely spacious for 6 people. The room was only meant for 5 but we asked for an extra bed and they provided it for us! Great staff, and I would definitely recommend them to anyone traveling to Riomaggiore.
Review 84:We stayed in a two bedrooms apartment. Electrical sockets were loosely fitted on the walls and dangerously dangling. Hair dryer was provided but could not use it as there was no adapter fitted. We had to ask for one. Was told that there was no wifi in our apartment zone; checking other apartments nearby showed wifi available. Clearly the operator should have known better about wifi zone extender or booster as the apartment was not very far from the office. We tried to cook one night but found the gas lighter was without gas and need to be recharged. Had to go to office to get one. Very disappointed with the lack or failed amenities and will not recommend to use them again.
Review 85:Due to complications with train travel, we arrived in Riomaggiore very late We found the contact person at his bar down the hill from the bed and breakfast. He was very kind and helped us get our bags to the room. Our room was spacious, comfortable, with a lovely little kitchen. We were able to have our dinner in our room twice. The location was ideal. We would definitely recommend this place!
Review 86:No wifi. :( Not good for heavy luggages. You have to walk uphill, them climb some more narrow stairs to reach the room.
Review 87:Very homey feel. There's a good pasta and pizza place nearby!
Review 88:The apartment was musty & damp and needs renovating. No wifi in the apartment we needed to go outside the building to the reception to receive it.
Review 89:Good location.
Review 90:The apartment needs some maintenance and the kitchen could do with a toaster and kettle.
Review 91:The staff were very helpful and the heating and hot water worked well. The beds were comfortable to sleep in. The location was very good.
Review 92:The owners spent a lot of money on good windows, which was great sincewe were there when there was cold weather. However, a lot was lacking.Last time I stayed in Riomaggiore our apartment came with smallamenities such as tea bags etc...Nothing here but a little coffee.
Review 93:I've been to Riomaggiore before and had also rented an apartment. This time we only stayed one night. Too short. I would imagine that itwould depend on which apartment you received. Ours was right on the mainstreet of Columbo, and only a few steps up. So that was good.
Review 94:Horrible steps up to the room. You could hear every sound from the street and other apartments, at 8 am they started working really loudly downstairs. The price seemed high but I guess that's Cinque Terre.
Review 95:good location right in the heart of the town, close to the railway station.
Review 96:Staff was a little unwelcoming, but I think this is true in manyItalian hotels
Review 97:Perfect location and value. Very cute and comfortable apartmentthat is easily accessible by train. Everything in close walkingdistance. Perfect!
Review 98:Good position - not many steps to street! good size bathroom. Suit two people to young family stays. Nice man carried suitcases to apartment. Regards Lynette
Review 99:Poorly equipped kitchen... Very noisy tho not ofcourse the fault of owners..the appt is just above a cafe and the Main Street and the noise went on all night. If coming by train...do not walk all the way with bags to the office if more than one of you as the appt is halfway up the hill so we lugged everything to office only to have to go back down. The staff /owners we met were uninterested in any sort of helpful service. Maybe it's the end of the season
Review 100:Nothing fancy, steep steps to the door
Review 101:The location of this apartment was great. The unit was spacious and had a nice patio. The beds were comfortable.
Review 102:There is no a/c and it was extremely hot when we were there. We had to leave the windows open for air however the cleaning on the streets started at 6am so it was very noisy.
Review 103:Because it was in the heart of it all, there is considerable noise in the evenings, with diners and night-life just below. This could be a problem for vacationers with younger children trying to sleep earlier in the night.
Review 104:The location was ideal - right in the heart of Riomaggiore. Convenient to shops, restaurants, hiking paths, beaches, marina, and the train.
Review 105:The kitchen was very poorly equipped. The staff looked nonplussed when we asked for 2 extra cups so we could have one each. There was little in the way of cooking gear. We also weren't shown how to turn the gas hot water service on. They seemed reluctant to give us WiFi passwords. When we were leaving they were insistent about seeing the receipt. I had made the payment the day before but they had no copy or record. Good thing our train was delayed as I had packed the receipt away. It's a good place but just a bit sloppy.
Review 106:The location was excellent and we were glad both sleeping areas had air-conditioning. The balcony was lovely to have.
Review 107:The Cinque Terre trail that we intended to hike was cloed. This was a big disappointment. Check to see if the trail is open at riomaggiore or plan to take a ferry to monte rosa to hike or swim.
Review 108:Excellent location..helpful staff..beautiful town
Review 109:There was no wifi. There are many random penalties of which they don't explicitly inform you. The only reason I knew was that I happened to read a sheet hung on the door.
Review 110:Close to the marina. One window faces the main road in Riomaggiore, but the hotel I stayed in was off to the side, which gave us some privacy
Review 111:Shower temperature was inconsistent. There was a paper in the room that said that breakfast was from 8-10, but we were told that apartments didn't get breakfast. This was not a problem, as we thought that when we booked, but it was confusing.
Review 112:Easy check in, friendly staff, great locations; we had cleaning both days we were there, which we did not expect. Very spacious, linens were all provided. Dishes available in the kitchen, which had a small balcony off of it.
Review 113:One of our apartments (ANNA) wasn't clean and good enough.
Review 114:We've rented two apartments for three couples. One of that (#51) was wonderfull, clean and good furnitured but another one (ANNA) wasn't clean and comfortable enough. I have to say that location of both aparts is very good, on the main street via Colombo, food store COOP is near and you even can buy fresh seafood in a morning go down the street))) If you are going to trek through 5 terre willages by footpath you have to check if it works. We've found that trail from Monterosso to Viareggo is closed from Monday till Thursday (but we found the way to get there :)))
Review 115:The region. I have been there several time before. This trip was ahurried trip with very little time to preplan. Your website helpped tofind accomidations in the region.
Review 116:it was close to the shops and resturants and getting back to the train. Had a bit if the night life goign on even though it was in a remote area
Review 117:beds aren't as comfy as they could be quality of linens
Review 118:availability of resources (kitchen) spacious apartment instead of hotel affordable
Review 119:a bit tricky to find location : up hike from train station no lift expensive no wifi
Review 120:complete kitchenette clean friendly lady close to coop supermarket
Review 121:Nothing, although like everywhere in Cinque Terre it was expensive
Review 122:Excellent support staff at the booking office. Great location slap bangin the middle of town although they do have a number of apartmentsthroughout Riomaggiore so take this with a pinch of salt. Only stayedone night but would be suitable for a longer stay.
Review 123:Tired looking apartment in need of a makeover and thorough clean. Theportable fans available in the bedrooms were filthy. Lounge furnitureneeds to be replaced as it is in poor condition.
Review 124:Liked the location close to the station and the amoumt of space in theapartment was appreciated. Pretty view from kitchen balcony and the Bedsquite comfortable.
Review 125:Decor dated but never spending much time there anyway!
Review 126:Location was amazing. Our apartment had views of the sea so we were very lucky. Great spot, clean towels each day which was appreciated. Easy, hassle-free stay.
Review 127:The staff was very helpful and friendly and spoke English. The place was very roomy, but there was no hot water. Other than the water issue (which really wasnt too big of a deal), the place was wonderful!
Review 128:Good
Review 129:Verygood
The Fine Print
Please note that there is no elevator up to the apartments.
