Reviews for Viva Trakai

Review 1:The booking quoted 'including breakfast' (at a small cost). But the later small print read that the restaurant was not open in winter other than at weekends. So we had to travel to cafes and restaurants and they did not seem to open til mid/late morning (perhaps just a winter situation).

Review 2:Viva Trakai is in a very scenic location on a lake's edge with own jetty. There is a magnificent view across the lake to the 14th century Trakai island castle. It is a short walk into historic Trakai town. Although public transport to it was not an option so we hired a car. The de-luxe modern room and large bathroom are very tastefully decorated and furnished, plus warm and comfortable.

Review 3:The jacuzzi in the bath tub in Room 1 wasn't working. We wondered why our booking gave breakfast at €7 when this wasn't the case (it was a la carte). There was no breakfast available on Monday morning which would not be a problem except that there was none available in all of Trakai.

Review 4:Lovely view over to the Castle. Nice meal in the evening. Very pleasant room. Staff courteous rather than particularly friendly (perhaps a bit shy?)

Review 5:Perfect location, nice and helpful staff, well-maintained facility and superb restaurant - curd pancakes with sour cream and strawberry - must try :) Thanks for wonderful holidays!

Review 6:Unfortunately, we had a bad experience with this hotel. When we arrived there was a double reservation issue and we couldn't get the room we had booked, confirmed and paid for. The staff proposed to stay at the cabin in front of the lake and to use the sauna to compensate the undervalue. The small wooden house has not been used for the last months as it was plenty of cobwebs and not ready to stay a night over there. At the end we accepted as we liked the views and the possibility of a late sauna. The funny thing came when we asked for using the sauna and they decline saying it was too hot for it. We paid for the luxury room and received a cold, dirty, small room with not the basic households (and no wifi / cable TV as it was a separate building) It certainly ruined our romantic stay at Trakai. A worthy place to go anyway. I guess this sort of things happen but they were unfortunate solving it.

Review 7:The park and surroundings are worthy the trip. The castle and the views from the shore are magical.

Review 8:small room under the roof, too hot in the morning. if to switch on airconditioner - too cold ( . Bo breakfast included into the price.

Review 9:location is good in quiet place, nice view.Tea, water included

Review 10:Very good location, rooms with castle view. The staff was very pleasant. The restaurant's food was very tasty. Small minus was that breakfast was offered from 10 am. Because we wanted to go explore the city, it was little late for us. Thanks

Review 11:there was a yellow water out of tab. It was not clear that water is not for drinking.

Review 12:Very nice location. Stuff is very friendly. Restaurant has very nice food.

Review 15:The English language could have been a bit better for communication.

Review 16:The interior of the room, how cozy it was! Really impressed. Furniture really matched with till each piece.

Review 17:No flip flops in the room, no bathroom carpet in the room. Some small details which prevent me to put an amazing grade.

Review 18:Amazing view on Trakai Castle. The choice : bath or shower Employee : nice and smiling. The room in general is nice.

Review 19:Taxi service in town is non existant, but it's not related to the hotel.

Review 20:The hotel is small and very cosy. The view from our room was to the castle. The breakfast was lovely and the staff were very nice.

Review 21:Young inexperienced personnel all in their early twenties. Polite, friendly but don't have a clue about hotel and restaurant organization. Ate there twice and twice they gave me a wine menu where none of the wines were availble. It was a real joke and at the end I had to ask them; which wines they actually had. The food is OK but too much salt is used in every meal. The big issue is the that are no real professionals in this hotel.Really a pity!!!

Review 22:It is actually a beautiful little hotel with a real charm factor facing the lake and the castle

Review 23:We stayed on the weekend and they had a wedding that day, it was a bit noisy and overcrowded. Restaurant was closed and all the staff was busy. Because of the wedding guests it was hard to park our car.

Review 24:Great spacious clean room on the second floor, all rooms have castle view. Very nice breakfast ( a la carte - hot meal, drinks, dessert) in the restaurant in the second building. Perfect location, 5 min walk to the castle.

Review 25:- Would be nice to receive WiFi password printed on a small sheet of paper; now if you forget it, you must go and repeatedly disturb a girl at the reception :)
