Reviews for Hotel Villa Argentina

Review 1:Not having a service to pick and drop off our bags coming and going. We and others were truly exhausted from a very long travels and mishaps getting to Riomaggiore so that KM hike with all our bags was really tough

Review 2:Location was preferred because it was away from the main corridor. The staff was outstanding (Julia and young gentleman in his late 20's) - they made a terrific difference. Also the breakfast and coffee were wonderful.

Review 3:Small size of the bathroom, no elevator, bad soundproof (I had a noisy neighbor at room #1).

Review 4:Breakfast with chocolate and coffee machine, good size of the room, incredible view to the sea from the room, terrace, comfy bed.

Review 5:No bad experience, not a lot of knowledge of other areas beside just their town, but a tourist chalet near by

Review 6:Staff. Beautiful view from patio But not room. Very good breakfast choices

Review 7:That the walls were as thin as the finest silk know to man! Great if you want zero sleep, other than that a wonderful hotel in cinque Terre

Review 8:Hotel was beautiful and staff was friendly

Review 9:Staff were really friendly and helpful. Breakfast was really good. Parking was convenient. The walk down into the village is pretty quick, just looks like a lot of steps

Review 10:Facilities and room are nothing fancy, quite basic. But in general it's reasonably comfortable. For this price you might probably expect a bit more.

Review 11:Excellent location overlooking most of the village and the sea. Breakfast has quite a lot of varieties and good.

Review 12:Very underwhelming all around. Super thin walls. Staff was less than helpful when we arrived, but fairly nice in the morning. Room and bathroom were small and not very well appointed.

Review 13:Breakfast was pretty good, and made a good cappuccino. Moderately clean room with a decent bathroom. Location was *eh* - not bad, but not great. At least it was not in the heart of the tourism district of the city. The view from our balcony was pretty nice and we got to see a nice sunset from it.

Review 14:Every time someone flushed their toilet we heard this horrible gush of water etc. go by our room (not very nice ), especially in the am when everyone is using their loo. Our room was on the lowest floor and facing the back. Moral of the story is to always stay in an upstairs room I guess. Found a dead bee in my fruit salad at breakfast. Wait girl did not remove it from my table or even take the bowl away from the servery to check it/ the remainder (so that others didn't find other insects). Pretty poor hygiene

Review 15:Niño really helpful. Make sure you use the little shuttle bus to get up the hill to the Hotel. Breakfast good.

Review 16:The more senior reception desk person is quite arrogant and irritable. The other is very pleasant.

Review 17:Accessible by car with parking available. Fantastic views.

Review 18:The hotel was bit dated. The water pressure in the shower was weak. Other than that the bathroom was well equipped

Review 19:The location is good, located higher up on the slope which offers a good view of the village when looking out from the balcony. The staff was helpful

Review 20:The parking is expensive(we paid 18 EUR per day), the room was not so clean, there was no balcony, the hotel is located high up the hill in riomaggiore with many stairs to climb and no elevator.not suited for the elderly.

Review 21:The owner and staff were very generous and informative (and spoke English). The breakfast was excellent and included delicious pastries and jams that the owner makes. The room was small but sufficient for a short stay.

Review 22:1. the staff, the boy 2.it is so high, not kidding, we only have two backpacks, so tired! 3.the view is so so 4. expensive not recommended.

Review 23:the breakfast! only that!

Review 24:We had a nice room although a few minor repairs were need in the bathroom and the overhead fan was noisy, but overall it was good

Review 25:the location was high in the village, so the views were spectacular, the staff were helpful, friendly and ready to assist.

Review 26:The location was challenging, a climb up the hill or up steep staircase. Also, our room did not have air conditioning, just a ceiling fan, and the window opened on to stairs used by those in rooms above. It was hot and privacy was limited.

Review 27:The staff was friendly and accommodating, and the breakfast was very good.

Review 28:We had no problems and would recommend this hotel

Review 29:A nice view from our balcony. Hotel staff was very accommodating. No elevator; so staff carried our baggage up to our room. Convenient to bus and a good restaurant for dinner.

Review 30:The hotel is up quite a steep hill, but it is definitely worth it for the view!

Review 31:Amazing hotel - we were upgraded for free and the staff were extremely accommodating when we decided to stay an extra night in the middle of the peak season. Beautiful rooms, even better breakfasts!

Review 32:Beds were a bit hard and the sofa bed was too sheet for our 6'4" son to sleep on.

Review 33:Beautiful place. Just above the hustle and bustle of the city but close enough to enjoy the quaintness of the area. Breakfast was amazing, all homemade by Guilliana! Get a bottle of wine and enjoy it out on the patio at sunset- a real treat.

Review 34:The beds were not comfortable, and the rooms were not well insulated, so we could really hear our neighbors :( Also, there is no A/C, which made sleeping on hot nights difficult.

Review 35:The view from our room was LOVELY!! Breakfast was quite nice.

Review 36:The bathroom fittings need fixing. I missed a lift to the 3rd floor after a day's walking, I'd get a room on a lower level next time.

Review 37:Great location with wonderful views from the terrace and superb restaurant along the road. Good breakfast (huge jar of pesto for your toast). On the bus route.

Review 38:If you coming from the train station, it is real hike to get there. There are lots steep stairs and you need google map to direct you.

Review 39:Nice staff, good breakfast, great views, clean and air conditioning that works.

Review 40:The hotel is situated on the top of the hill.

Review 41:Beautiful view of Riomaggiore. We took the private parking lot of the hotel and the last day of staying we could go to the beach and we could still keep the car there.

Review 42:The bathroom was so incredibly tiny. When you sit on the toilet, your chin is literally in the sink. And the shower faucet head was broken, it just dangled. The fan in the bathroom was SO LOUD, same with the ceiling fan in the bedroom... we couldn't even sleep with it on, because the noise was ridiculous. So we were so hot (there's no air conditioning). The wireless just happened to not be working in the rooms during our stay (which was BS because I read in other reviews it wasn't working so this seems to be an ongoing problem) but they say it worked in the lobby. Parking was 18 euros a day, which I thought was a little high, but oh well.

Review 43:The location was good, easy 5-10 minute walk to where all the action is. We didn't walk from the train station to the hotel (we drove) but I imagine the walk with luggage is really difficult, because you're walking up a steep hill. It was difficult without luggage! Our suggestion for the hike: We read it's best to start in Monterosso and work our way back to Riomaggiore because the first part of the walk from Monterosso to Vernazza is the most difficult. But instead of getting on the train, we decided to take the ferry, and we are so glad we did! You got to see all the villages from the water, and it was so beautiful! Also, go to Vertical Bar - they make awesome cocktails! Short walk from the hotel! The breakfast was ok, pretty average Italian breakfast. Nothing special though.

Review 44:WiFi was not reliable, walls were not very soundproof

Review 45:Staff were friendly, breakfast was good, view was stunning from the balconies as the hotel is at the top of RioMaggiore

Review 46:It is definitely a little bit of a hike to the hotel, but that is expected for location. WiFi is not good.

Review 47:The staff was beyond nice and the view from our balcony was incredible. A filling breakfast and capuchin in the morning was perfect for a day in the mountains!

Review 48:No air conditioner, but room had ceiling fan. Was fine for a May visit, but I would imagine could get hot in July/August

Review 49:The staff is great, their breakfast spread is probably the best in the town. The hotel is at the top of the mountain, so it's a bit of a walk but worth it for the views. Rooms weren't luxury hotel but had everything we needed and made for a great stay.

Review 50:The price is not worth the place. The rooms are small, wet and cold. Our window in the room overlooked a wall. It took a long time to take a shower because we had to wait when the water got warm.

Review 51:The personnel and the location were quite good. It took just about 10 minutes to get to the city centre.

Review 52:Very, VERY, small room, bathroom is in the cabinet. Extra pay for parking, so at the end, room was very expensive overall.

Review 53:Perfect view, nice, kind girl on a reception, litlle terase.

Review 54:The staff was very friendly and the view from the top of Riomaggiore was just wonderful. As it's a long walk uphill from the train station, pack light or take your time.

Review 55:The room was too cold (air and floor) and the heater too small for the room. The water pressure in the shower was minimal and they only took cash at check-out. So, overall the building and views are nice but not quite worth the price.

Review 56:The room had a large balcony with a really nice view!

Review 57:The area was dead and advice from staff bad. Laundromat closed until March but found out by hauling washing down there (and back up one really steep hill) having been advised by staff the location. Coastal paths between towns closed again discussed with staff but they did not warn of the same. Cover charge and 15-20% surcharge rediculous this time of year! - come on Italy!

Review 58:The view was spectacular. Great breakfast. The train system between each town was great.

Review 59:it is not worth to pay more money for the sea view room . room and bed and bathroom are small. it located at the top of a very steep road, not for the elder people walk to there if they dont have car.

Review 60:We greatly enjoyed our four nights here. Our room had a balcony with two chairs and table and view one the rest of the village to the sea. Breakfast was nicely done. The staff were friendly and helpful. A wonderful place to relax and to use as a base for Cinque Terre.

Review 61:They could have told us in an email that you can take the bus right up to their hotel when bringing up your luggage. The climb was tough. Over priced. No directions on how to get there. You are left to fend fir yourself.

Review 62:Beautiful view, great breakfast. The evening staff guy was excellent. Breakfast was excellent.

Review 63:The directions to the hotel were a little confusing. Once we got there, we understood why--it's hard to find the first time, but after that, very easy!

Review 64:The view, the breakfast, the friendly staff, the location, the beautiful lobby and the door to door public bus service. We had a great time, and definitely recommend it!

Review 65:Shower could have more pressure or a new showerhead. Towels were clean but looked a bit gray.

Review 66:The view, the terrace and the art. Its location is worth the bus ride up and the taxi ride down.

Review 67:A little bit to tough to reach the hotel by walking, especially when carrying a luggage. From the stration, one has to walk uphill and stairs to get the hotel.

Review 68:Clean, good breakfast, and very friendly hotel staffs

Review 69:The only thing I didnt like was that the internet did not reach our apartement. However, our apartment was a 2min walking distance from the hotel. So people staying in the hotel itself will enjoy 24hrs internet.

Review 70:The staff at the reception are very friendly. Najem, in particular, is a very nice guy who speaks multiple languages. The apartmenet given to us was very big, comgy, & clean. Hot water is always available. The road to the hotel is steep, so it is better to book a taxi to drive you up rather than taking the long steep walk.

Review 71:Unfortunately we were in the apartment (separate to the hotel) which was pretty ordinary really. Not really what we were expecting although it did have the promised sea views.

Review 72:The Cinque Terra is amazing. All the villages are built on very steep hillsides. You need to be fit to handle the climbing but there is a good little bus service. It would be handy to be located more in the town area.

Review 73:Shower was smaller than we expected, about 2 x 2.

Review 74:The room was advertised. Clean no frills with necessary amenities. Overall it is a great place with a breathtaking view. The walk up the hill or steps are worth the view from the room terrace or 2nd floor shared balcony.

Review 75:Hm, nothing comes to mind . .

Review 76:We particularly liked the fresh and non-conventional interior of the hotel, white-washed and with interesting art up on the walls. We also enjoyed the view from the balcony.

Review 77:It is a steep walk up from the village, which is ok on a cool day but can be a bit difficult in the heat. We arrived by car, but I would not want to bring suitcases up from the train station.

Review 78:The hotel has a wonderful panoramic view over the village rooftops to the sea. We had a room with a terrace and sea view. Parking is available for a fee.

Review 79:there were tiny spiders in the bed which bit me and my husband all night. the room was not clean and it was very far from the train station and up on the hill, which made it hard to reach especially via luggages. car park is not free even though it is literary on the street.

Review 80:cool balcony and rich breakfast

Review 81:You need to be an acrobat to use the bathroom. Maybe it is not the same in all the rooms but in ours it was the smallest bathroom+bath I have ever ran into.

Review 82:The staff was nice. Breakfast was good. Slightly overpriced.

Review 83:You have to know that this is a true hike up the hill. Just when you walk to the bus stop....around the corner you are there. With bags it is a hike in the heat... but so worth it when you see the view and people. Work out before you come!

Review 84:Staff was friendly and so helpful. Always smiling.. breakfast had a good assortment of items. great coffee! Front desk had all time- tables for trains and boats.

Review 85:The wi-fi couldn't reach our room on the third floor. We had to go down to the second floor to have internet access.

Review 86:Breakfast was delicious. Staff was kind enough to pack us breakfast to-go since we had to catch a train early in the morning. Though the room may be slightly small and simple, the view is lovely and worth the hike up the stairs every night to get to the hotel from the village center. Try to get a room with a balcony, but if ever there are no more available, you can always settle for the common balcony that they have on the first floor which offers and equally stunning view.

Review 87:Little cold at night in the room eventhough we used more extra blankets.

Review 88:Balcony was nice!! And clean room

Review 89:Great location at the top of town and fantastic breakfast buffet.

Review 90:Long difficult walk from the rail station. Small room. Window did not close fully.

Review 91:Staff were courteous and helpful. Breakfast was good.

Review 92:Small room, very small shower room with broken toilet seat, poor value

Review 93:Location, helpfull staff

Review 94:Old facilities.

Review 95:Very friendly staff.

Review 96:Great staff and breakfast. Quiet

Review 97:Climbing up is quite exhausted. It will be better if they had the bus information on the website.

Review 98:Nice terrace Very good view at night.

Review 99:Lovely sea view from the room, good breakfast, beautiful room...

Review 100:Excellent location with wonderful view on RioMaggiore

Review 101:Room was very small. Bathroom had a bad smell. It was over priced. Besides the young boy other staff were not helpful.

Review 102:Breakfast was good.

Review 103:No aircon, no warm water, no elevator up till 4th floor. Incomfortable bed.

Review 104:Still, probably the best in town...

Review 105:No aircondition, just fan. No windows

Review 106:Nice breakfast (fresh fruit), nice staff helping with parking.

Review 107:Good location, parking garage nearby.

Review 108:Charged for parking without prior warning. No air con in room.

Review 109:Pretty hotel nice view

Review 110:No air con. Just a fan and got very hot

Review 111:Perfect location, beautyful view...

Review 112:Very cute hotel, good atmosphere, good location. Very short walk to the main area of Riomaggiore.

Review 113:Pillows not good should advertise price for parking

Review 114:Lovely breakfast good location

Review 115:Friendly staff. Super Clean room. Nice balcony and view. Possibility to drive to the hotel. Availability of a parking spot. Breakfast was OK.

Review 116:Wifi didn't work. Walked up 3 floors with suitcases..

Review 117:View is good from the balcony

Review 118:Close and convenient. Staff very helpful regarding train, boat schedules as well as restaurant recommendations

Review 119:Helpfull staff Carpark available

Review 120:Unable to get connection to wifi

Review 121:Staff very friendly and helpful , lovely views from hotel patio, bed comfortable

Review 122:Everyone was most helpful

Review 123:Shower recess difficult to exit for older people in our room.

Review 124:Excellent breakfast with homemade jams/conserves.

Review 125:Great spot if you don't mind the steps

Review 126:The view, and the quiet

Review 127:We had a fantastic stay in this hotel. We will definitely visit again and recommend to others.

Review 128:Friendly staff, good location, reasonable price - but be prepared to climb a few steps to your room - no elevator.

Review 129:The shower was not great but worked

Review 130:The staff was very welcoming and helpful. Breakfast was very good and the rooms were clean and very comfortable.

Review 131:If you come by rail, you have to climb all through the hill but worth for scenery.

Review 132:Excellent view, good breakfast,
