Reviews for Hotel Vista Grande Osaka

Review 1:Good location if u like to shop around shinsaibashi and dontobori area. Its about 10 mins walk from nearest station Namba station. If you need to travel out often with lugguage, might be better to stay nearer to train station.

Review 2:A room was small for family with kids. The staffs were a little bit unkind because they were busy most of time and didn't speak english well.(but there are Korean speaker, chinese speaker.)

Review 3:Location is best to go to dotonbori which is popular place in osaka. You can walk to see dotonbori.

Review 4:The hotel is also located close to the red light district. Sometimes, there are men and women standing around the hotel and yelling which ruins the good atmosphere of the hotel.

Review 5:The hotel location is next to the restaurant area and shopping area. The room was clean and tidy. The staff were nice and very helpful.

Review 6:Stayed in a Standard Twin non-smoking room in the North Wing of the hotel. Room is spacious and clean. There is a balcony. Toiletries of good quality. Reception staff was helpful in providing information. Free coffee and organic tea at hotel lobby. Welcome drink served on each evening from 5p.m. to 10p.m. at the lobby bar. Location of hotel is close to Kyoto Main train station.

Review 7:Bathroom could have been presented a bit cleaner. Not to deter you though it was fine if you aren't a prat.

Review 8:Great hotel in an excellent location. Would highly recommend to anyone who is travelling to Osaka for a short trip and wants to stay in the heart of the city. Straight outside to some great eateries and an awesome nightlife. Glico Man and the sights of Dontombori within metres. Awesome.!!

Review 9:Nothing

Review 10:We loved this place for our night in Japan. The location is amazing, right in the middle of the great shopping area with its neon lights and lovely restaurants. The beds were so comfortable we didn't wake until check out. We loved it and would highly recommend the place to other travellers wanting to be in the heart of it all.

Review 11:There was no internet service in the room. We asked at the front desk for this and he just told us: "the range of the wifi could not catch your room".

Review 12:The ubication

Review 13:Great location at the heart of Namba, easy to travel to anywhere. Staff were very warm and helpful. There is a 7-11 downstairs which makes life a lot easier!

Review 14:A little bit far from subway Nipponbashi or Nanba station. Walk around 10 minutes.

Review 15:1. Right inside the famous Dotonbori area. Convenient for shopping and dining. 2. Room is big enough as a standard double room.

Review 16:-red light district everywhere around the neighborhood. -staff doesn't make restaurant bookings prior to arrival and also when we were out on the street, we called back and tried making booking, that's also not possible either. They said is company policy to have guest(s) to be present at counter when making booking. This is unheard of.

Review 17:I love staying at Vista Grande Hotel, I've been staying in this hotel on each trip I take and I never got disappointed, staff friendly and very helpful, rooms are big and comfy, location is just perfect for who loves the nightlife in Dotonbori!

Review 18:Initial reception felt a little cool. Perhaps it was a language issue, but felt that the objective was adequate rather than awesome, in terms of service.

Review 19:The location was perfect and the room was clean and comfortable.

Review 20:Their rates have gone up and they are quite expensive now compared to before.

Review 21:I have always stayed in this hotel because of its excellent location. The staff are very kind and I even got free Halloween treats from them ?

Review 22:Not bad experience at all: just marked 'facilities' down because the hotel restaurant was not open in the evenings.

Review 23:Extremely convenient location, friendly and helpful staff, huge room very comfortable and airy, good breakfasts with wide choice of Japanese and/or western food. We will certainly book again.

Review 24:Good location. Just a few minutes walk from Namba Subway and shopping street. There is a 7-11 at front of hotel with connected door to hotel. Room is comfortable and there is available space for big luggages.

Review 25:No bad experience - we booked a double room and it was adequate - if you are after larger room pay the extra and book a twin room. Larger and toilet and shower separate. This seems to be the standard in Japan

Review 26:Hotel location is fantastic close to all major attraction, transport and resturants

Review 27:We did not know that "make up room" services end at 14:30. When we approached the receptionist about the matter, she personally accompanied us back to our room so that she could throw out our rubbish. To us, that was truly a personal touch to make our stay comfortable. We regret not making a note of her name.

Review 28:A staff created a confusion over payment upon checkout when we have already paid in full. Otherwise, it was an excellent stay.

Review 29:Excellent location. Comfortable and clean room. Love the breakfast.

Review 30:There is no gym. Not a nice corner to sit with a book and coffee. But above all- the breakfast is a bit poor. It was nice to have, but can be improved

Review 31:The price was very good, the location is comfortable and centered and the staff is helpful.

Review 32:None

Review 33:Excellent location near shinsaibashi area and lots of takoyaki stalls. Hotel is close to everything. Staff was helpfull all the way till checkout day.

Review 34:The area where the hotel was located was just too crowded. A bit pricey

Review 35:Loved the fact that when you step right out of the door, shopping and all the food you want is just waiting for you. The staff were very helpful and the room was very clean! Room size was bigger than the usual japan hotel rooms. Plus, a 711 at the lobby!

Review 36:Impersonal reception but as a large hotel the amount of guests being processed on our arrival probably didn't help. Dried kelp was the offer to have with the hot water in the room, and our fridge never seemed cold. Our outlook was the backstreets but not in room too much.

Review 37:central location for street stalls, restaurants by the water and a good bar area out the back for a drink before heading out. Rooms very clean if a bit small, great shower. Toiletries and towels more than adequate. Free bottles of water in the rooms.

Review 38:The service was disappointing on arrival, checkout was admittedly much better. Overall though, I didn't find this to be a friendly and welcoming hotel compared to others in which I have stayed. The breakfast was extremely poor and very badly organised. Probably one of the worst I have experienced in my travels and particularly when considering the hotel in relation to other Japanese hotels. Overall, I thought the hotel was disappointing and poor value. I would definitely seek alternative options for future visits.

Review 39:The location was fairly good for being in the middle of the hustle and bustle.

Review 40:There was nothing we particularly disliked (other than the rather bleak view from our room), but overall the hotel was not special either. All together a fair but mediocre experience.

Review 41:Excellent location in the middle of a great district full of shops and restaurants. Easily accessible public transport nearby.

Review 42:the pillows are way too soft, and the robes in our room smelled like they had been wet too long before drying.

Review 43:This hotel was available at the last minute and was so cheap for the location and the size of the room. The staff was great with recommendations and directions and the location really can't be beat.

Review 44:The staff were exceptionally helpful and nothing was too much trouble. The Reception staff were amazing as was the Concierge. This is the best Hotel I've stayed at in any country. Best trained staff who genuinly seem to enjoy helping the guests.

Review 45:I need a gym/sauna/steam room - good to sweat out all the beer and late nights.

Review 46:Great central location, decent size rooms, and reasonable price for Japan. Highly recommended. I'd stay here again in the future.

Review 47:Quite expensive for a Mid-range premier Inn style hotel but thus may be the born for Japan??

Review 48:Fantastic location in the heart of Minami, Osaka. Dotombori is 2 minute walk. Shopping, eating and drinking is all within walking distance. Staff were very friendly and helpful. Room had everything needed and was quite large.

Review 49:They wouldn't allow us to check in one hour early despite our room being ready without paying a fee. Very unfair considering we'd been travelling all morning.

Review 50:An excellent hotel for our one night stopover in Osaka. Centrally located for the excellent night life.

Review 51:It is really convenience to go everywhere. I have booked a triple room and it is nice for five of us(three kids). We can open two luggages at the same time.

Review 52:we have room with view for some wall. it was dark in the room but it wasn't problem because till day we was outside hotel. No onsen :(. LOgin to WiFi its quite complicated but internet working great

Review 53:great location, near to Namba station, romantic restaurant

Review 54:i booked for two with young kid and no extra set was provided. i was told i could not even have an extra pillow as i only paid for two. facilities were old and i found two cockroaches on my bedside table two consecutive days!It was centrally located within 5 mins walking distance to shinsai bashi and dotonbori but not worth coming back again. Strongly not recommended!

Review 55:it located centrally close to all amenities and that is all about it.

Review 56:a bit pricey but still worth it as everything is walking distances.

Review 57:Location is awesome, just right in the center of food and shopping. Namba Stationj ust few minutes walk away.

Review 58:The room itself is not tiny like the rest of the hotels in Japan and was new and clean. Conveniently located next to shops and restaurants, 10min walk to shinsaibaishi shopping district and namba station.

Review 59:The location of the hotel is perfect, right next to Dotonbori and Namba the most popular area of Osaka. It very close to various food & shopping spots. The hotel was clean and the room was large enough for two. Bathroom was clean and but too small.

Review 60:The pillows were uncomfortable

Review 61:The room we stayed in was massive compared to any others I've ever stayed in Japan. The room was clean and the hotel had all the facilities we needed. The location was great as its walking distance to everything.

Review 62:Nothing. I have to admit though that I prefer Namba Oriental Hotel because of the larger rooms, closer location to Namba Nankai Station, better breakfast buffet, and cheaper price.

Review 63:I liked the hotel location in Namba. The breakfast buffet with both Western and Asian food was very good. The staff was also very courteous and helpful. Wi Fi was working well in the room. This is a good alternative if Namba Oriental Hotel is full.

Review 64:Hard to find breakfast options nearby. Starbucks and a couple of others are 8 - 9am opening only. Most shops open 11 - 11.30am so no good for early morning travellers.

Review 65:Very clean and comfortable and quiet room. Super friendly and helpful staff with good English speaking.

Review 66:Second time I stayed at this hotel within a week, this time only for one night after coming back from Kumano Kodo. Everything was fine apart from the Wifi, which worked for 10 minutes and from then on only very very slow with many complete cut-offs. Had issues with the Wifi last stay aswell, very irritating. Generally seems to work better in the morning rather than evening.

Review 67:Location is a plus. Its within dotonbori area so very accessible to the shops and restaurants. The room is also bigger than the other rooms we've stayed in tokyo and osaka. You can actually open a big and small luggage and there is still space for you to walk around the room. Had a comfortable sleep as well. Will surely stay here again the next time we go back to Osaka.

Review 68:Literally steps from downtown Dotonbori with its nightlife and eateries and only short walking distance to the subways. Staff spoke good English, very friendly and willing to help with our queries on trains to catch etc. Room was small but not as small as we were expecting from reading other reviews. Would highly recommend.

Review 69:English speaking, friendly staff. Location right in the heart of the action. No problem storing my luggage before/after checkin/out. Spacious, clean room.

Review 70:Rooms were a decent size (for Japan) and the decor was better than expected for how much we paid. Staff were very friendly and helpful and were happy to take our luggage for the day upon checkout, even after we were late to collect them later that night. Location was great being so close Dotonbori which comes alive at night. Plenty of food options nearby and it's very easy to (willfully) get lost among the streets and explore.

Review 71:Comfortable stay, clean and spacious room (esp for the room for 3 persons - there is sufficient place for us to place our baggage in the room without sacrificing our walking space). Staffs understand and spoke English. Location is perfect with a few 24 hours ramen stalls just next to the hotel, making it easy for us to grab supper /breakfast. Convenient store located at the lobby of the hotel.

Review 72:When we first walk in the room smelt like smokes. Smoking is not allow in this hotel but it was obviously from the previous guests

Review 73:Everything! The 7/11 right on level 1. Safe location. Right in the centre of everything. The sim card facility avaiable for us. The staff was really helpful.

Review 74:we made a request for a high floor room with a view. but we got a backend of building's loading docks, instead of the shinsaibashi. The price is not the best.

Review 75:The room was a decwnt size. They have safebox in the room and provided bottled water.

Review 76:This hotel is a gem in the heart of the shopping and restaurant area of the prime shopping and restaurant area. It is so handy to get to and a 7-11 store in the hotel is super for snacks, early morning coffee etc. I will recommend this hotel to all my friends as everything about it was very satisfactory.!

Review 77:We stayed in a smoking room, although the windows can be left wide open the air humidifier(i think!) Would have help the smoky smell if only there was instructions to teach you how to use it! Also, shower wasn't very powerful especially if all you want to do is just to wash your hair.

Review 78:The price was great for the location. Tv size was in proportion to the room, i know this might not matter to some people but have stayed in many hotels where tv size is just way too small.

Review 79:Actual hotel room was a bit pokey, not a lot of floor space and bed right up against the wall.

Review 80:The hotel was in a great location, easy walk to the main train station. The hotel itself is beautiful with lots of cool stuff in the main rooms. Good value for money

Review 81:No English channels! No cnn or bbc!!! Terrible!!! Check out time at 10am is too early. They wanted us to pay extra for 12 noon check out. Ihad to show I was upset before they waived the charge!

Review 82:Location was good, staff very friendly.

Review 83:With a small kid (2 year old) the surrounding area was gross in the morning when we went for a walk, drunk guy passed out in front of hotel, trash every where. And no parks or grassy areas anywhere nearby The restaurant (only went there for breakfast) wasn't well suited for small kid; no kids seat and plates aren't cleared fast enough to prevent trouble makers like mine from trying to throw them. My only issues with the place are about kids. Otherwise the staff was great and hotel very nice

Review 84:If you want to be in the center of activity, this is great. If I had been traveling to enjoy night life, I'd recommend this hotel.

Review 85:The hotel is located in a red light district.

Review 86:The room of the hotel is spacious with Japanese hotel standard. The check-in staff is very friendly and helpful. The price of the hotel is very reasonable. The hotel location is very close to the main shopping areas and food streets.

Review 87:They need more English speaking staff, also the cable channels are all in Japanese. Pay-per-view movies are mostly adult ones.

Review 88:Location is good, near both Dotonburi for food and Shinsai bashi shopping district.

Review 89:Breakfast not included. Not much of a view, but considering the location, I can't really imagine a better solution.

Review 90:Excelent location, right next to Namba, with lots of interesting shops and places to explore. Helpful and polite staff. Excelent bed and bathroom. Waterboiler and teacups included.

Review 91:Double room is very small for 2 adults. Better to select the twin room which is bigger for 2 adults. Should provide longer curtains in the room as the sunlight will come into the room early morning.

Review 92:Location is excellent, near eateries and shopping streets. Free sake n desserts on New Year Day.

Review 93:When I booked I request for twin bed but when I check in the staff said that is just request. After argue they give me twin bed for 1 night and the second night we must move to queen bedroom. And the third and fourth night move back to twin room again with additional cost for 2000 Yen per night.

Review 94:Location is very good and easy to shopping and eat. Mini Market 7 Eleven is connecting to the lobby. A Lot of bar surrounding there

Review 95:When we first coming to the hotel, nobody help us with our luggage. I brought in a lot of stuff and three staffs were standing at the counter and no one help with that. We come to the staff the name is 土田, he was providing service without smile. Even without eye contact. He was using one hand skill all the way, take our passports by one hand, using one hand to receive our bank card, using one hand to give us invoice. He is very rude! And we won't come back to your hotel again to have this kind of service. Management in this hotel is unsuccessful.

Review 96:Good location, modern furniture, room nice and clean.

Review 97:Convenient location to many clubs and restaurants in neighborhood. Excellent location if you want easy access to night life. Despite this location the room was very quiet and I could not even hear guests in adjacent rooms. Internet worked fine too. Very clean and comfortable room.

Review 98:The hotel is located in a red light district, if you walk out of the hotel behind it, it's all the int interesting sex stores and all sort of services that they provide.

Review 99:The room of the hotel is very spacious compared to many other Japanese hotel. We are very happy with the service. The price of the hotel is very reasonable. The location of the hotel is also very good in the main shopping area.

Review 100:Staffs are professional but cold.

Review 101:Good location that is quite near to Dotobori and Shinsaibashi; Receptionist is professional; great equipment in the room and size is the biggest of three hotels I lived in Japan.

Review 102:The glass "window" between the bathroom n bedroom. A bit awkward if you are staying with a friend when the blind does not shut properly!

Review 103:Location is great to visit Osaka and arriving on train from Kansai Airport. Staff at reception are very helpful. Comfortable bed, very quiet at night.

Review 104:The curtains are too short and let quite a lot of light in in the morning.

Review 105:Located right in the buzzing heart of Namba. Great atmosphere in the area. Rooms more spacious than others I've had in Japan and able to open window for fresh air. Comfortable pillows. Great overall value for money.

Review 106:Fantastic location, right in the heart of Dotonbori and close to many of the attractions of Namba. Very spacious room for Japanese hotel, large double bed and very modern facilities. Would definitely stay there again and recommend to friends.

Review 107:the check-out time is 11:00 bit too early

Review 108:Great location in Osaka, very close to food street and shopping mall, also subway station is not far away, clean and good room environment.

Review 109:I picked this hotel because it's at the heart of Shinsaibashi area. It's only few minute walk from hotel to everywhere, ie restaurants, Midosuji, Shinsaibaishi, American Village shopping areas, etc. The nearest subway station Namba is also within 100m. There's a 7-11 attached to the hotel so it's very convenient. Late night bars are around so there may be some "boys" and "girls" standing around the hotel area; nevertheless, you won't hear the noise from the hotel room. One point that I am a bit upset is the cleaniness of the bed sheet, when I flipped it over, I saw a few stains on the bed sheet! Otherwise, this would be a pretty perfect hotel....

Review 110:No baby crib/cot. We havent find one hotel in japan that has them, so ryokans could have been better.

Review 111:Great location for visiting temples walking distance, Gion street a block away, subway station 10min away. Walking distance to kawamarachi street.

Review 112:Nothing!

Review 113:Excellent location. very close to Shinsaibashi, good for eating and shopping. There is also a Lawson in the hotel, you can always get anything you want in there. Staff are very nice and helpful, they are always willing to offer anything you need.

Review 114:We have booked 3 non-smoking rooms but they only can offer us smoking rooms with heavy bad smell... We have baby with us so we insisted but they said all rooms are full...

Review 115:location is ok

Review 116:View was into an office block- didn't have the curtains while we were there.

Review 117:Great location- one street away from the bustling main drag Very friendly staff Very large and clean rooms

Review 118:Too expensive for early check-in. Around 40 USD for 1.5 hours early check-in however it's free service of most hotels which have similar grade.

Review 119:CVS on the 1st floor

Review 120:Hotels are hotels, if they're clean and the bed is passable, I'm not going to complain, this hotel had the added bonus of air con and a nice bathroom but as usual it's the staff that makes or break a place and the staff here were just great from reception to the cleaning staff. If you see anyone marking down staff in Japan for not speaking fluent English please bear in mind that this hotel is in Japan and not England. Some people amaze me they really do

Review 121:No breakfast. They don´t really reserve you a smoke free room if you book in booking.com. The hotel is located in a red light district, which is fine if you are a foreigner, not so fine if you are asian descendent and is easily confused as a native citizen.

Review 122:The hotel was 2 minutes away from Dotonbori which was great. You have all kinds of restaurants available near by, which was great. Room was clean and it was surprinsigly big for the japanese standards. Free wi-fi was fast.

Review 123:Only Japanese tv, no other International channels.

Review 124:+Very good location in the heart of Osaka. Shopping areas, restaurants, bars, etc... are all around. Metro station and Namba Train Station is just 10 min. walk. Nice view to the city from the room (11th floor). Wifi was fast and free in the whole hotel.

Review 125:-Only Japanese tv, no other International channels.

Review 126:Very good location in the heart of Osaka. Shopping areas, restaurants, bars, etc... are all around. Metro station and Namba Train Station is just 10 min. walk. Nice view to the city from the room (11th floor). Wifi was fast and free in the whole hotel.

Review 127:The glass next to the bath tub which can see through the bathroom when u lay on the bed!

Review 128:Location, room size, strong rainshower, convenient store just next to the hotel lobby, friendly staff!
