Reviews for Cinqueterre Holidays
Review 1:Presentation misleading. The entrance of flowers is actually where checkin at no. 94 The room is up a laneway of 3 flights of stairs then another 7 flights of deep narrow unrailed steps up stairwell Diffucult with luggage. I am 71 years of age but fit and enthusiastic having just completed the 800 km walk of Camino Santiago. No water glass provided. Do not accept credit card payment as advertised.
Review 2:Cleanliness, ventilation and big fluffy towels
Review 3:One of the firends we were travelling with is pregnant and it was difficult for her to climb the steps up to the apartment.
Review 4:The views of the towm, moutains, and sea were spectacular and outside areas were very comfortable.
Review 5:We found that many spiders in the toilet. It was horrible when we were using it. And the room was far away from the town you have to climb many stairs to the top . We could hear people talking from the other rooms clearly and others probably could do so. Not worth for the price
Review 6:The sea view
Review 7:Check-in person required payment upfront, but would not accept credit card for payment and pointed to a handwritten note at desk that billing must exceed 200 euros in order for credit card payment. If this, in fact, is the policy of the hotel, we should have been made aware of this requirement at time of booking. Electricity went out during night (circuit breaker, perhaps?) with no lights for early morning routine and no way to contact staff for assistance. Note: no phone in room and office where check-in occurred was not open.
Review 8:Really disappointing stay, so .....nothing good to say.
Review 9:The hostel was located in the mountain, about 15 min from where it shows on the map. No wifi. The guy in charge didn't let us pay with credit cards, he was very rude to us unless we pay him in cash.
Review 10:The room was small and the bed uncomfortable. Went to sleep to the sounds of a couple next door sharing a moment.
Review 11:I liked the patio area. It had a great view of the sea and surrounding hills.
Review 12:Breathtaking views and perfect location! Many many steps to room, but we were warned...so worth it! Roberto, the owner, had a young man help us with our luggage and we gladly tipped him:) A true Cinque Terre apt....living like the locals in small and modest but very functional room. Not a Marriott and don't expect that... You have to embrace the simpliciy. The view from the front window spectacular.... And the back porch, fabulous!!! Fun experience that we will always remember!
Review 13:The staff were extremely rude, unprofessional and unhelpful. The apartment was run down, very small, in an absurd location and was generally unclean. There wasn't adequate ventilation or security in the room, the room was full of mosquitos. You could hear noise from the apartment next door as clear as if the people next door were in our room! The walls were so thin! Overall very disappointing. For what we paid, it was definitely not value for money.
Review 14:It was located in Riomaggiore.
Review 15:The power points didnt work. The single point that worked was the fridge so we had to pull out the fridge so we could charge everything. It was very inconvenient.
Review 16:Good location.
Review 17:Our room had no window so it was really hot at night and it would of been nice if the kitchen was working.
Review 18:The view from the house was amazing and it was a lovely spot. Having access to the house to hang out in was also really nice.
Review 19:No wifi and the room wasn't very clean Seems a bit expensive for its value, but all hotels there seem to be very expensive
Review 20:The view was awesome The bed was comfortable
Review 21:The description was deceptive when it said car parking. The truth was that you had to find your own park somewhere in a limited area on the edge of the village or outside. There was no access into the village with a car through this accomodation site. Minimise luggage as accomodation is mostly many steps away. The bed sloped up on one side so was difficult to sleep on in our unit (which is only one unit of many offered)
Review 22:Water view.
Review 23:They say it's really close to everything in Riomaggiore but you actually need to walk at least 20 min to get on the hill. It's not an easy road as the hill is abrupt and the weather is usually very hot. And, they charge a lot for the conditions they are providing. Additionally, when we arrived at the place the room was filthy as they didn't even bother to clean it before we arrived.
Review 24:It truly has a nice view, but it's blocked by all the plants that are growing on the terrace. I wouldn't say I would have notice it if I didn't know from the booking description about it. You had to find a spot between the plants to actually see something.
Review 25:Had to climb a massive set of steps to get to room.room was worth it
Review 26:Great view from our room at the top. Had a fridge for keeping water cold which was useful
Review 27:A bit of a wait to get to our apartment as the only staff person worked through the others that were there first.
Review 28:Great location. It's not a hotel, it's renting a room or apartment. We were surprised to find a washing machine and were glad to put it to use in the middle of a long trip.
Review 29:We should have been told there is no parking in the city for non residents. We requested a parking space but had to pay 20 euros more in cash, which we had to do to stay at the hotel
Review 30:The view was beautiful and wifi was good
Review 31:Owners are not very punctual. There is a sign on reception door that says they are open from 10:30, however one should not expect anyone to be there until 11:00. If there are other people checking in in front of you then expect some waiting (it took about 30 minutes for us) as rooms are all around the town and guests are lead there one by one.
Review 32:There are at least three locations owner by Cinqueterre Holidays - we were staying at the villa above the town next to the castle, it offered nice sea views from terrace but required some walking up the stairs to get there. A guy who leads you from reception to your room is very nice and friendly, he speaks English much better than a man at the reception.
Review 33:It's a little bit out of the main part of town, but this was worth it for the location and view you get over the ocean either from the window or the terrace! Was very enjoyable!
Review 34:The staff was very rude & make racist comments about my friend who is African American. There was blood on the sheets, the shower was more like a large sink that was either freezing cold or so hot that it burned you. None of the doors locked which is absolutely ridiculous and they were never in the office so I couldn't speak to them about the horrid condition of the room and the absurd comments made by the staff. I would never stay here again
Review 35:The only thing I liked about this place was the location.
Review 36:i booked "Double Room with Shared Bathroom". Shower is probably the worst. it's weak and only cold water came out. The window isn't fully covered with curtain. Careful ladies! Also, it's truth that the point shown on map is reservation, but i had to walk toward upper hill for more than 5mins for my actual place to stay. Moreover, you would hear all the sounds from adjacent rooms, no kidding. Chose this hotel for cheap price and location, but Im totally regretted :( "Double Room with Shared Bathroom" を予約しました。
Review 37:Nice staff. スタッフが優しかった。
Review 38:1. check in and accommodation are not in the same place, and it is hard to find the location. if you take walk from here to the train station, you need choose another road. 2.The old decoration and equipment, and a little dirty, the room is really messy, many eqipment are broken ,like the faucet of the bath, it can not control the appropriate hot and hot water. 3.There is a dirty balcony, maybe nobody take care of it. 4.It is too expensive for this condition, not worthy to book this family hotel. 5.The light is bad, just a very small window in the room ,you need choose a room from the window see the sea. 6. If you need use wifi, you need go to the check in place, the room no wifi for customer.
Review 39:1. It is quite for sleep.when you walked in the road at 9:00 pm, there is nobody outside, everybody go to bed very early. 2.The room is big, except the big bed also with double bed ,it is fit for a family with babies lived in here. 3.The service of stuff is not good and not bad, it is freedom for living.
Review 40:Lot of steps to climb to reach the top as apt was on the top of the hill .. we read the reviews of other travelers and packed less and left other stuff in the car trunk .. so it was easy with luggage.
Review 41:we really got lucky during our stay .. we were 3 Adult and 1 kid .. but we got the 2 bedroom apt which they usually use for group stay ... As no one else were there we enjoyed staying in the whole apt just for us alone ... Best view from the apt ...
Review 42:robert was friendly and charming if a bit harried. He made me feel my comfort and safety were most important. I have already and will recommend Cinque Terra Holidays to others. thank you for a surprisingly beautiful night.
Review 43:it is the worst hotel in europe!!!!! disgusting at all!! smell bad, far from center of riomaggiore and very very expensive without reason!!!
Review 44:nothing from hotel
Review 45:Be prepared for the steep streeets and stairs. Also, the websiteadvertises payment by either cash or charge cards. Nope! When we arrivedhe wanted only Euros-upfront for the entire stay. False advertising.Wifi in all public areas means only at the office. Also, when the ownerwent home he turned off the wifi (8:00 P.M.) I had a family emergencyand no wifi to make travel arrangements. So then you have to go to arestaurant or bar, buy something, and then get 20 minutes of wifi. Beprepared to be cut off fromt he rest of the world. Also, room neededamenities in the kitchen, very poor shower, and mosquitos in room.
Review 46:The beautiful town of Riomaggiore where it is located. Easy access tothe train and restaurants and shopping. The area is amazingly beautiful, food and wine is exceptional, anywhere you go.
Review 47:Enjoyed our stay here. The owner and staff were very helpful with all information. Room linens were professionally cleaned and view was amazing! Would stay here again.
Review 48:If there could be a small kitchen it will be fabulous. Mosquito. But they are every where. Bring your spray against them to enjoy time on terrace.
Review 49:Autentic apartment with lovely terrace, lemon trees. You must go up the stairs a little bit but it worth.
Review 50:No kitchen Advertised views non-existent due to flora overgrowth Room was very damp Wi-fi only in reception which is ten min walk away (11am-7pm) and even then it wasn't great
Review 51:Cost Despite bad reviews, owner was pleasant.
Review 52:Long hike up many many many stairs to get to the house (if I had known, I may have left a lot of my belongings in the car).
Review 53:Beautiful view, great house with kitchen, balcony, bathroom, living room!
Review 54:Room was damp, as in when u got into bed the bedsheets were moist.
Review 55:The view, incredible. Close to town even if it was at the top of the hill. Location was good for the train to visit the other 4 villages
Review 56:We searched for a room for two people and was quoted a price, but then found out upon arrival that the quote was for single occupancy only, and we're charged an extra 50 euros for the additional person. Still a good value for the price, but not thrilled with the surprise price difference.
Review 57:Very clean, excellent view of the sea, very quiet.
Review 58:Roberto, the man who runs the place is a such a sweet and helpful guy! He even plays the piano in his office! He rents out rooms that are all around the village, so they are not all in one building at the giving address, that is simply an office where you check in. Our first room overlooked a popular walking road in Riomaggiore and was very convenient in terms of location. We had our own little kitchen, a private bathroom, and a washing machine. Our second room was up the hill quite a ways, but was worth the hike! Our view of the sea was beautiful and the room kind of reminded us of a little Hobbit home! :) We were very pleased with the service, patience, and kindness of Roberto and those who cleaned our rooms for us...would love to visit again in the future :) Thank you, Roberto!
Review 59:We woke up with bed bug bites and were blamed for being the carriers. After a "discussion" we did receive a cash refund. Rumor in the town is "his" rooms are notorious for bed bugs.
Review 60:The location of the room and the surrounding area was phenomenal.
Review 61:The room I was given was in the back corner by an old outdoor kitchen and pitch black when I can home at night. No outside lighting whatsoever! The property host was rude and there is no way to store luggage if you arrive before 10. According to him, everyone's sleeping so he shouldn't be working.
Review 62:Last minute booking
Review 63:The walls are paper thin so we could hear the people in the room next door VERY well... to the point that it sounded like they were in our room. There is also no wifi here. You have to go to the main office down in town & awkwardly sit out the front. This wifi also stops working at night. Not ideal.
Review 64:The apartment was in a good location & had a nice view from the terrace. The room was clean & although quite small it was comfortable enough.
Review 65:The electricity supply was stopped in the midnight. The price was quite costly.
Review 66:The staff was nice. The environment was great, with a wonderful sea view.
Review 67:There were too many steps and we had a lot of luggage. We really had a hard time taking our luggage up and down. No one helped us. No wifi in the rooms only at the check in office - very inconvenient
Review 68:The location was good
Review 69:Stuff didnt prepare enough blankets for us and no one answered the call. We were frozen that night. Very terrible experience.
Review 70:Beautiful view
Review 71:Staff were extremely rude, bed was uncomfortable
Review 72:Location, price
Review 73:Lots of steps. Bad shower and uncomfortable beds.
Review 74:The view. Clean.
Review 75:We had requested Wifi and parking, neither of which were available.
Review 76:The view was incredible and the balcony overlooking the sea was fantastic.
Review 77:The shower was terrible! It was broken and tough to use.
Review 78:I loved the setting and the quaint privacy.
Review 79:Rats on the balcony.
Review 80:The view from the balcony.
Review 81:Had to take the car for the evening meal.
Review 82:The calm.
Review 83:The room was in the atic, so the feeling was really low
Review 84:The view, the size of the room
Review 85:The owner was horrible. Just wanted to be paid straight away. We didn't get the room we booked. No air, no tv, no balcony.
Review 86:No air condition
Review 87:Amazing view and big spaces.
Review 88:A bit too expensive
Review 89:Location with a nice harbour view
Review 90:View from the yard.
Review 91:the room should be only for 2, not for 4 people
Review 92:the location is good
Review 93:Not an overly friendly welcome
Review 94:Cute balcony with great view
Review 95:Eduardo the assistant was fantastic.
Review 96:A few repairs and a coat of paint is needed.
Review 97:Location, size of room and amenities.
Review 98:Location, room, view, terrace
Review 99:too much soft bed, can be done bit of maintenance in bathroom
Review 100:The view, verry nice house with garden and social spot.
Review 101:lack of wifi
Review 102:the views from the balcony!
Review 103:Great view when on top floor. A lot of stairs. Great experience !
Review 104:The room was very small and the bathroom was horrible. We paid 55 Eurofor a very uncomfortable staying.
Review 105:Location is nice
Review 106:The nearby kitchen facilities were lousy
Review 107:We were upgraded. We loved the view from our room and balcony
Review 108:over run with tourists
Review 109:Like living in someone's tacky home. Barely cleaned, low standard but outrageously priced.
Review 110:Landscape and food
Review 111:4 person area but 2 beds were in living room area
Review 112:great deck and view; nice to have kitchen
Review 113:Staff is not there all the time, for people who do not have a cell phone it's very hard to reach them to check in.
Review 114:Location is good although we have to climb up to the top but we got a good view. Room is clean and nice, the yard is also very pretty and quite. Good for the money :)
Review 115:The hotel is located a 5min uphill walk from the official address given, and gives a splendid view over the Mediterranean. The location was perfect for us, nice view, quiet, close to the train station. There is also an outdoor sitting area which is very cosy and perfect to enjoy the view, read a book and enjoy some wine if you bring that yourself.
Review 116:The room is so far away from the reception, and no wifi in the room. The reception is tiny so impossible to use wifi there neither. About the room, there are many weird dolls in the room, even toilet. Moreover, you can hear mouse running on the roof all night. To sum up, it is a nice ghost tour.
Review 117:Nice view from window
Review 118:Broken toilet seat Half broken shower Bathroom in bad condition Secruity is bad (can't even lock door) The 100 step climb to the hotel room
Review 119:There was a view over the town and water
Review 120:It's nice experience to stay in one of cinque terra old houses with narrow and steep staircase along some alleys. The place is really clean though the building is old.
Review 121:Bed was old and uncomfortable. It was not clear that a specificpredetermined checkin or ability to phone was a requirement to ensureeasy checkin. That said we didn't wait too long. Not a great room tohang out in but ok to crash in.
Review 122:Location was excellent. View of the Ocean and we could hear the wavescrashing on the shore. Small kitchen was a pleasant surprise.
Review 123:Overpriced for the quality compared to other places we have stayed. Confusing town when we first arrived. Very limited parking, only steep and far away spots to find. Full of tourists even in Sept mid week.
Review 124:Great location in a unique tourist town.
Review 125:The flat was small and there were some midges/mosquitoes.
Review 126:It is my understanding that this is one of many 'cinqueterre holidays' properties. Our flat was at the owner's home. It would be ideal for 2 people but was small for 4. The flat is located out of the main part of Riomaggiore - you walk up to the castle and then down slightly into the next valley, high above the train station. Don't stay here with large suitcases. The walk isn't bad but we were happy to only have small rucksacks.
Review 127:There should have been more information about the availability ofparking and public parking options, including cost.
Review 128:We ended up with a small apartment. Liked the fact that we had more roomthan in a hotel room. Furnishings were basic but adequate.
Review 129:Cinqueterre Holidays books various rooms all over Riomaggiore, so you don't know what your room will look like until you are brought to it. This made me feel uneasy until we got to our room which was actually a pleasant surprise! They provide photos of rooms that 'may' look the one you book, but there are no guarantees. So it can be a bit of a risk. As long as the rooms and views are all like the one I booked, then I would recommend them. Bring a light backpack or a small light suitcase, because there are a lot of stairs to walk up and down each day!
Review 130:The view from our balcony was lovely. We had a great view overlooking the ocean and the hillside.
Review 131:The accommodation had a fantastic view and was clean, but the room was dark, most lights did not work and unfortunately no supplies to make a coffee, which means a very long walk back down the hill in the morning.
Review 132:Eduardo was excellent in taking us up to the accommodation, helping with our bags and is the friendliest person we met in Riomaggiore
Review 133:The first thing is the car parking. They said there is a a public parking place close to the hotel and might cost some money, but it was 23 euros per day!!!!! The parking place is at the entrance of the city and it is nothing to do with being close to the hotel. The hotel address in the website is the reception and is in the center, but the rooms are on the top of the hill which you need to climb for a while. They first gave us a room without a window, then we asked for another room, the second one was good. They do not accept credit card, only cash. There are some hotels exactly in the center and with their own parking area with much less fee. Also the hotel does not offer any breakfast
Review 134:The location of the rooms are away from the crowd.
Review 135:Only thing i didnt care for was the bed mattress. It was a little old. Bumpy in spots. But we slept fine. Because the room was bright and near the ocean, we didnt worry about it. The location made it an amazing place for this beautiful town! Stairs were not an issue becausr thete are stairs everywhere. Bringing a smaller suitcase is must!
Review 136:Arriving into Cinque Terre, Riomaggiore was a dramatic Entrance. Beautiful coastal view directly from the train station. Hotel reception was on the main street called Via C. Colombo after walking through sidewalk tunnel. Walk up the steep street to find Roberto playing his piano and singing at the check in where you pick up room key. Very ftiendly. You need to only travel with a 18" carry on because there are stairs everywhere. We had wheeled suitcases which helps a lot! The room was down the hill. So we walked with Roberto who helped me with my suitcase. We walked towards the cove. He took us to a private room with a kitchenette. The room had a modern bathroom and modern kitchenette and dining table. A wonderful surprise to be in a room near the ocean and it was very well lit. It was also in walking distance to the train and town area.
