Reviews for Residence Aito

Review 1:You need to have a car in order to comfortably stay here

Review 2:It's like a home away from home, there's everything you need in an apartment, with all the appliances plus an amazing view from your balcony. It's a great place to base yourself at if you have a car, and avoid the noise of the city. It's also pleasantly cooler here, being up on a hill.

Review 3:It was a long way out of town. ..but for us we picked this place for a rest not a vacation.

Review 4:This was a great place for a 4 day stop over after traveling for 8 months in south America..you need to rent a car to get around as it is up the hills. You can get a transfer but then need to catch taxi. ..manager will take you down if asked. . The view great

Review 5:Noone did speak English at all. The complex on the top of the hill and you really need strong car to get there. From some strange reason the hotel didn't deduct money from my card and I needed to go to pay 10 km to Papeete with the same card.

Review 6:The apartment was realy nice, big and comfortable.

Review 7:Though a stunning location it's about 2km back from the coast and maybe 400 meters up the hill, so where as the walk down to the shops might take 45 minutes (and energy because some of the gradient is 1 in 4), the walk up in 30 degree heat is exhausting, I had to stop for multiple breaks, and the local pet dogs can be aggressive. If you've never been to Tahiti before you'll need a hire car to be able to get out and see the rest of the island. Language barrier meant owner had to use neighbours to translate and this left me with the uneasy feeling of not knowing if transport would be available for airport trips for a day or two at a time - and I had to knock on a translator's door in the dark (felt awkward and rude) in order to find out where the owner lived to be sure I was going to get back to the airport (taxi would be expensive). The owner is at work all day so can only be contacted early or late. No air conditioning - Tahiti is hot and there's only 1 standing fan so you have to chose which room to user it in. The Hibiscus flowers everywhere on the first day were a nice touch - but they attract ants and it's hard to keep the shower clean as the curtains don't fit and there were no floor towels. Overall still very positive - so long as you don't mind the location/mobility/transport situation.

Review 8:Large apartment in residential block with big covered and uncovered veranda (lest it rain), excellent wifi and great stunning hill top views with Moorea in the background. Appears collection and return to airport are free (must pre-arrange by email) and price to make additional trips to the airport (day trips to other islands etc) significantly cheaper than taxis. Quiet location, plenty of space in all the rooms, multiple cupboards, reasonably equipped kitchen with bottled water, tea etc supplied, DVD player comes with a selection of French titles, good view of the sky for stargazing, can walk beyond the apartments to the top of the hill for an even better view, owners live at the bottom of the apartment block and they, and the neighbours, go out of their way to be hospitable. The price is excellent for Tahiti and the space compares very generously with other places I've stayed on this island and its neighbours.

Review 9:Due to the stunning views, the apartment is located high up inland so a car is a must! On arrival, our bathroom & toilet were very dirty! The shower drain was extremely clogged with hair & lint etc. The bathroom sink still had hair around it and the furnishings still dusty & looked as though it hadn't had a wipe down in a while. The shower curtain itself was poor as it wasnt long enough & water would flood the floor. There were used cigarette butts left in one of the cups at the table setting. Kitchen bench & sink could've also done with a final wipe down as there were a few crumbs & bits of food. The washing machine soap dispenser was extremely dirty, and at times we had trouble opening the door to get our washing out! A thorough check of the rooms cleanliness would've been good before the next residents occupied it. Although basic items are provided (broom, sponges, dishwashing liquid), neccessities were missing including a microwave, toaster, mop, toilet brush & wider use of kitchen utensils. For a stay of over 2 weeks i think more provision of towels & cleaning utensils & products is a must!

Review 10:We stayed at Reaidence Aito for 2 1/2 weeks. The drive from the international airport isn't long at all. On our first night our transfers driver had to come back for us a second time as we had not seen him the first time when we arrived (Note: the sign he has will have the name of the accommodation not yours personally). They were extremely helpful & friendly given the late arrival time! The apartment itself was large, spacious, with great aeriel views of Moorea, the sea & the mountain. The apartment is in a residential block so not a typical 'tourist' area with tourist information & help desk etc but great to get amongst the natural local life of tahiti. Coffee & bottled water were available on arrival, however one bottled water was already opened & used! Self contained apartment with the basics, gas operated oven/stove top very good. The onsite person and contact number were provided if we needed anything. David was very helpful & although the language barrier was difficult he tried to accommodate us as best as possible where he could. We certainly appreciated that! The place was nice and quiet, a great get away if wanting peace from a busy lifestyle. Yet still close enough to the city if you needed anything or wanting to look around!

Review 11:Awesome view and very nice apartment
