Reviews for La Casa Di Venere
Review 1:Noise in annoying level by other guests. The house was not soundproof. It was impossible to sleep one entire night because some guests were having a party.
Review 2:Room was cosy and beautiful in a nice location of Riomaggiore.
Review 3:no wifi
Review 4:basic lil room with shower bed we had a 1 night stop so it was perfect, comfortable and sleept well.close just off the main street and 5min walk from station
Review 5:That our stay wasn't ten times longer.
Review 6:Marco was the absolute best. He was incredibly welcoming, gracious, and quick to help us with directions, recommendations, and suggestions for our short trip in Cinque Terre. He treated us like old friends, and we could not be more grateful for meeting him. The rooms are in a great location just a few steps away from a gorgeous marina with incredible sunset views. A great place to travel with friends.
Review 7:Due to the humidity and coastal climate, there was mold in the shower and bathroom area.
Review 8:Loved the location and feel of the town. I think it would be a great honeymoon location. Just beautiful.
Review 9:This was quite expensive for what was included. But as expected for peak season (August). No wifi
Review 10:Well positioned in Riomaggiore and not too far up the hill. Simple and basic room but a good size and quite clean. It includes a fridge which was good.
Review 11:Very thin walls so frequently awoken in the middle of the night. No wifi.
Review 12:Location very good, if a little hard to find (don't use Google maps for this). Very spacious rooms.
Review 13:Where do I begin? The pictures listed on the ad do not reflect the room that I stayed in. The room was a hole in the wall. It lists a TV and toiletries as amenities and neither of those are included. The bathroom had mold. My first night there were no towels. They also claimed a problem with their POS system and did not take credit cards and asked for cash upfront.
Review 14:The location was great! It's right in the center of Riomaggiore, near the bars, restaurants, and the train.
Review 15:Everything. Do not stay here. Owner does not care & does not live on site. We arrived and had to call the owner but could not get hold of her. Cost me 50 euros on phone calls and she didn't pick up!!! Had to go into town and ask around if anyone knows the owner of this place. After 3 hours we found her in a shop. very unfriendly. Can't pay by card, can't store luggage. If you want someone to rotten your holiday, stay here.
Review 16:You could feel the springs in the mattress. Towels were like table cloths. Beds never made. No wifi. No breakfast. No coffee in room. Jack hammers started at 8-8:30. AM. Many many Stairs were poorly lit. Very hard to find hotel. Had to ask around town and was directed to a lady at a produce market.
Review 17:The air conditioning was awesome. Location near great restaurant and bar.
Review 18:bathroom was filled with bugs Bathroom is outside of the room, you have to lock it everytime It was very very expensive for a single room
Review 19:Location Air-con Mini fridge Hairdryer
Review 20:Owner unavailable and grumpy, cared nothing for our comfort and unhappy to help with a dodgy door.
Review 21:Location great, lovely Barbara happened to be there and helped with check in
Review 22:Where to start. Firstly we emailed the property to organise a time to meet for check in 4 days prior with no response so we spent our first hour trying to contact the owner to let us in. Next we had our luggage moved to other room without our knowledge. Last they over booked the property and left a poor young fella without a room and did not even make an effort to come and help so we offered for him to sleep on the spare bed in our room. Very disappointing stay!!!
Review 23:Booking stated that they take credit card, but host said no, sorry, cash is required. Confirmation stated credit. Bathroom was full of mold..,shower curtain, wall and ceiling were moldy and shower mold needed to be washed down the drain. Hardwood had significant water damage and sink fittings were not attached, Front door was broken so they just leave it open with no staff or phone available for emergency. Etc etc etc. Overpriced and poorly represented in description.
Review 24:Ac worked well.
Review 25:AC didn't work, so a hot night.
Review 26:Location in town was fine once we knew how to find it. We viewed a beautiful sunset from near the church above town. Removed a bit from the bustle of main street, so the quiet was nice.
Review 27:its good place the price is not expensive which match the facility
Review 28:host was so nice and give me useful suggestions and bed is so lovely~ i feel like im near the sea
Review 29:i have never seen such a ridicilous place.when you get there, there is nobody and they want you to call them by phone.if you don't local sim card like me,you have to find a phone from somewhere.and if you can't reach them, they don't cancel your reservation.this is my first negative comment for a hostel but stay away from this place!!
Review 30:nothing
Review 31:Everything was great! The room was clean and cozy. This hotel is located near by the main road where you can find any cafes and bars also it takes less than 10 minutes to get to the train station. Special thanks to Roberto. He was very nice to us, he met us, helped with our bags, gave us a lot of helpful advice and delicious cookies! :) We'll definitely stay here again if we return to Riomaggiore.
Review 32:Hard to find. Had to ask for help. Then I had a note for me to call to get my key. With no phone service that was not an option. Took two hours to get my room.
Review 33:The room was well maintained. The heater worked great and the place was quiet. Even though it was full it was very peaceful.
Review 34:good location, only few stair steps from the main road. I suggest to contact the owner to get the hotel location and direction in advanced. The hotel sign I previously checked/saw on the google street view was no longer there and I almost got lost.
Review 35:Hope that the owner could pick up the travelers from the stations because it is not easy to find the house.
Review 36:Situated in the center of the village. Near to good restaurants and stores. Large room with air conditioner. Kind service.
Review 37:didn't get response from owner when i emailed to get directions, but when i finally got hold of him everything was great
Review 38:liked the location, riomaggiore had more restaurants open than other 5 terre villages at christmas
Review 39:The hotel maybe hard to find and there may be narrow lanes with steps, but Riomaggiore has such wonderful atmosphere and character. It all contributes to memorsble stay. Robert the owner met us in the main street and walked us to the hotel. Take the time to climb the steps to the church behind the hotel.
Review 40:Nothing. Can only think of good ones :-)
Review 41:The people in the village are real friendly & helpful. When arrived at the train station, was not sure how to get to the hotel so asked a local man, he immediately called the hotel and told us where to meet the host Roberto & Giorgio outside the Lampara Restaurant which was an easy meeting place and we were then shown the way to the hotel. Not easy to find but if you asked, you get help easily. A quiet, cosy little accommodation with a kettle for a cup of tea ! What a lovely idea !! Sure will return as Cinque Terre is a real jewel. We live in Switzerland so it is not that far to visit again. Amazing place ! Love it.
Review 42:A lot of steps to get your bags up, but is at least not far up the hill when you leave the train station. Only a couple minutes walk from train stn.
Review 43:Very friendly, room was a good size a comfortable. No wifi, no breakfast, tho many options in Riomaggiore and other villages.
Review 44:Very difficult to find Will be exhausted if you carry big luggage Wifi is not working
Review 45:Nice staff, introducing detail in the village The room is standard and convenient
Review 46:Beds a little bit hard but all other facilities perfect. Greeting excellent by lovely lady who gave us all the information we needed
Review 47:Great position, not too many stairs. Good to have wifi access with local bar because we were staying there.
Review 48:Very poor access. Many stairs. Hauling luggage to and from parking lot is very difficult. No views. No wifi of any kind. Basic room should have very basic appropriate pricing. Shop around before you pick this one.
Review 49:It was clean.
Review 50:Roberto was an excellent host, doing everything he could to make my stay perfect & giving me excellent information of where to go to find places I'd enjoy!! (Thanks Roberto) Riomaggiore is my pick of the Cinque Terre towns; & by staying overnight you get to really see & experience the town - after all the daytime tourists have left.
Review 51:You need to call a number upon arrival so they can come and register you. They live close by but still could have been inconvenient
Review 52:Located near mainstreet and marina. Very spacious room modern and beautiful. Roberto and Elena are very helpful.
Review 53:There is no staff on the property. You must call them when you get there and they will come meet you. The problem was that our US cell phones could not get service in Cinque and there were only 2 pay phone nearby and they were out of service. We had no pay of contacting the owner to let us into our room. Luckily the manager of the property next door was kind enough to contact the owner for us (twice) but we had to wait about 45min the first time and about 20min the second time for him to show up. Once he did he was very friendly. Great room and location but not convenient is you don't have a phone.
Review 54:Riomaggiore is very steep and hilly and we were grateful that this was located toward the beginning of the street as you come out of the train station. Perfect location! Room was large, very clean, modern and comfortable.
Review 55:This place was quite hard to find due to all the stairs in Riomaggiore-Google maps just doesn't work in little narrow lanes and stairs! The locals were very helpful and pointed us in the right direction.
Review 56:The room was lovely, -there is no public area. We arrived late and the manager came to check us in especially.Very centrally located.
Review 57:It was not possible to leave the luggage there before and after checkin and checkout.
Review 58:The staff was nice and helpful. New furniture, spacious room and bathroom, good location.
Review 59:For value no WI fi Not much of view
Review 60:Location good
Review 61:Buckled flooring in bath area made it easy to trip. VERY thin towels. Non-existent staff after check in.
Review 62:Central location, great air conditioner
Review 63:dirty, hard to find, noisy, very expensive.
Review 64:Enjoyed my stay
Review 65:Close to the water close to the train station restaurants and shops lots of stairs close to hiking trails
Review 66:Mouldy room.
Review 67:At age 59 there were a lot of stairs - Great for younger adults
Review 68:quaint area but a modern clean room
Review 69:Marco was very friendly and helpful with good recommendations for us. Lovely clean simple room great location and price.
Review 70:Location is good but otel and conditions are not same with informations which are on the internet.Personel is not helpful.Bathroom was dirty.
Review 71:Bathroom needed reno (some mold) No towel dryer No WIFI
Review 72:Proximity to central area. Clean bedroom Excellent owner
Review 73:As mentioned, the stairs in Cinque Terre are a problem as they also appears to be all over Italy
Review 74:Hand to everything
Review 75:moldy bathroom no internet
Review 76:Will be better if the place has wi fi.

Review 88:Stairs, but that can't be avoided
Review 89:Robert was most hospitable
Review 90:Location Clean Staff
Review 91:Location, helpful and very friendly stuff, clean and very pleasant place
Review 92:The staff were super friendly and helpful and never far away if you needed them. The rooms are a stones throw from the Main Street in riomaggiore but still secluded and quiet. I loved it here!!
Review 93:The cost of the room was very high for the rudimentary accommodation. The beds were adequate but could have been more comfortable. There were no amenities and the room was very stark & dark.
Review 94:The location in Riomaggore was ideal for our visit, and Jasmine, the receptionist who met us, was extremely helpful and nice.
Review 95:No air conditioning. Window was very small and small walkway between buildings limited any breeze.
Review 96:Proximity to the town.
Review 97:the staff is kind, and the location is closed to both of the beech and the station, easily to be accessed.
Review 98:Excellent location, quiet, close to amenities and train station.
