Reviews for Le Terrazze Del Chianti

Review 1:You get the feeling you couldn't be staying anywhere more Italian. It's quiet, picturesque, and beautiful. Paulo and his wife and great hosts and have a wonderful family. I particularly enjoyed dining with them. The home made Lasagna 'Ragu' was to die for.

Review 2:WiFi connection and internet speed were the only issue we faced but also that we could not communicate about the same to Valeria on time and hence had to bear with bad connectivity.

Review 3:Hard to say if we liked the place more or the hosts. They are both excellent. The room itself and the house overall had been so beautifully decorated. Valeria and her husband always went an extra mile to help us and were the most courteous hosts we have ever met. The warmth of the hosts and the fire place were equally comforting and made our experience the best in our trip to Italy.

Review 4:Maybe it is the front room only but was quite noisy next to the kitchen and living room.

Review 5:Best breakfast of trip. Countryside views from terrace. Welcome drinks and snacks. Close to motorway. Very clean.

Review 6:WIFI was slow (but I was not expecting a lot for one evening).

Review 7:Very personal and well situated family run B&B with great hosts. Close to Siena and Florence. Great view from the top bedroom window over Chianti.

Review 8:Although bus stop is within easy access, there is minimal service. If this is your sole stop in Chianti and Tuscany region, you would make best of stay by having a car.

Review 9:Loved the quiet remote location, beautiful views and surroundings amid vineyards and olive groves and warmth of staying in a family home. Great retreat to R & R, winery within walking distance and fabulous restaurant La Toppa just down the street! Thank you to Valeria and Paolo for wonderful relaxing stay!

Review 10:Paolo and his wife Valeria are the perfect host. Friendly, funny and with lot of suggestion where to go and see. Their B&B are one of the best I have visited, brilliant breakfast and a terrace that have a breathtaking view.

Review 11:The wi-fi was breaking up.

Review 12:Amazing owners, we were treated with a welcome drink and local snacks. Their terrace has a million dollar view at Chianti and looks amazing in the morning and in the evening. The room was very clean and cosy, cleaned every day. Breakfast the best we tried in all Italy : it was served to the table at the terrace, coffee or tea freshly made, selection of regional meet and cheese, fruits and home made desserts! The owners were knowledgeable and gave plenty of advice on what to see around. They organized a dinner in their own b&b with extensive menu but we did not try it as we are not used to real ItaliAN dinner with so many dishes. Do not hesitate and book this place! We were thrilled by the location and this b&b! If you call them you can book cooking courses of fresh pasta and pizza!

Review 13:Paolo e Vale were absolutely fantastic, they made sure we had a pleasurable stay at all times. I also thoroughly recommend having dinner at their place.

Review 14:nobody to ssist us to climb all the stairs with the luggage ! wifi difficult

Review 15:splendid place and views, wonderful breakfast, very kind people, quiet and very stylish

Review 16:The floor in the room la saffita was inflected toward the middle, so that all furniture leaned toward the center, including the bed that couldn't get stable.

Review 17:The view through the window; the staff & service; the rustic interior and exterior.

Review 18:No air conditioning was a problem as it was very hot the week we were there. Hotel is hard to find - mostly unknown to locals and the sign on the place is very small - we walked right by it once.

Review 19:Owners are very personable, location in a Tuscan village is superb, easy driving to Florence, Pisa, and many Tuscan areas, breakfast buffet on the rooftop overlooking Tuscan hills

Review 20:Booking.com described it as being in Tavernelle in Val de Pesa. It is in San Donato in Poggia within Tavernelle's area of governance. Since Tavernelle is also a town, this confused us and made our arrival much harder. The fact that one can't drive to the B&B, but must park elsewhere could be a problem for some.

Review 21:Terrazze is right on the main piazza of town. Our room was large and comfortable, and breakfasts on the terraces were delicious and the view fantastic. Hosts were attentive. Good restaurants are right there.

Review 22:The town is teeny and very charming, and the hotel is adorable, decorated like an Anthropologie store. The only downsides are that the front bedroom - though beautiful -can be a bit noisy from the little restaurant in the plaza below, and the back bedrooms can be pretty hot. We solved the restaurant noise problem with white noise from the ceiling fan. Nonetheless, we would stay here again in a heartbeat. The town, the charm and the warm hospitality more than made up for this small annoyance.

Review 23:The owners are warm, friendly and helpful. You can't help but like them.

Review 24:There is a steep flight of stairs to enter the property but the proprietors are more than happy to handle all baggage concerns.

Review 25:We were served wine and cocktails upon our arrival. It was a very nice touch after a long travel day. Breakfast was great with home made breads.

Review 26:MORE OF WHAT I DID LIKE : Tavarnelle Del Piesa is a perfect base to stay , 30 mins from Florence , 30 mins from Siena and San Gimignano , a nice quiet village surrounded by wineries , many are free wine tasting , the sports bar in the village has sky sports for anybody not wanting to miss a premiership football match , free car parking 5 mins walk from the accommodation , nice and peaceful after a day exploring.

Review 27:Myself and my gf stayed in the family room, huge room, very quirky with log fire, beautiful attention to detail guesthouse, complimentary wine and food on arrival, friendly and homely owners Paulo and Valarie make you feel like you know them already, really nice breakfast with home made saviouries and fresh fruit, excellent outside terrace area with amazing views to chill out and eat and drink wine, great for families and young couples,we had a home made 3 course meal with coffee and a bottle of red for two for €56 per couple and it was top notch food, a must visit in Tuscany , we will 100% return.

Review 28:Good value for money for a large double room, but rather more than a solo traveller like me would normally pay. A general lack of power sockets, and though there was a large settee to sit on, there was poor light here; there was a large lamp on the other side of the room, but it wasn't much use for reading on the settee there :-)

Review 29:Very nice recently renovated old house right in centre of picturesque village. Very friendly host, who even offered me a glass of wine on arrival. Large and very comfortable double room with view onto central square. Very good breakfast.

Review 30:Just to nitpick, would have been nice if the wifi reached the room. But we didn't need it.

Review 31:The view from the terrace The beautiful room, heated with a fire The delicious and varied breakfast The hosts

Review 32:A bit noisy the second night. Our host had guests in the kitchen next to our room and the it was difficult to sleep. Only for the first 30 minutes though.

Review 33:The terrace and the wine and cheese at arrival.

Review 34:Nothing!

Review 35:Rooms were beautifully decorated with antiques, the photos do not do it justice. The room was very peaceful with no traffic noise and the terrace was a great place to relax and watch the sunset. Plenty of free parking about 5 mins walk away. Valeria was very nice and welcomed us with Chianti wine which was greatly appreciated. I would recommend staying here to all friends and family and would love to go back some day. Great breakfast too!

Review 36:The hosts were welcoming, cheerful and helpful. Large sized rooms with ample space to move around and enjoy the stay. Beautiful terrace with vineyard views to enjoy your sunsets and dinner. Amazing breakfast - all homemade by Paulo. Couldn't ask for more.

Review 37:Everything! The rooms, the ambiance, the people, the food, the views. So charming. Ideal location for visiting the area (Florence,Sienna, San Gimignano) and the Chianti-area. Bring a car, though. Or just postpone your plans and enjoy a glass of local wine on the terrace, like we did. The village itself is very pictoresque. We had such a good time here.

Review 38:We were in doubt between staying either in Florence or Siena and we finally decided to stay in the middle of them. Instead of choosing an agriturismo, we found this beaultiful San Donato with plenty of restaurants options (the city changes in the night) and the best of all was this B&B hosted by an impecable and tipical italian family, very charming (with numerous details everywhere), a personalized breakfast with THE view to Tuscany and an extremely confortable and charming room. Everything was perfect and we strongly recommend it! By far, the best hospitality of our trip.

Review 39:breakfast on the beautiful terrasse with the fantastic view, the nicely decorated rooms, very convenient location in Chianti region, not far from highway and cities of interest in Tuscany (Florence, San Gimignano, etc)

Review 40:Nothing really. Maybe a fridge could be additional value.

Review 41:All of our expectations were met. Nice place, great view from the terrace, room was comfortable and clean. The hosts were very friendly and helpful. No separate parking place, but easily can be found in the neighbourhood. Three restaurants a few steps away, nice dinner served on the terrace regularly.

Review 42:Superb views, huge bedrooms., simply charming all round!

Review 43:Very nice meeting. Willingness and especially the environment within which it rejoices the heart. I can only recommend.

Review 44:parking

Review 45:Beautiful house, wonderful character in decoration, superb views, interesting and welcoming hosts. Food great. We will come again!

Review 46:The atmosphere and hospitality was amazing!

Review 47:The ambience & the attention to detail. Set in a wonderful medieval village.

Review 48:Very charming, quiet place. The dinner made by the hosts was very nice. The terrace is a bonus in the evening

Review 49:We loved the uniqueness of the property, interesting decor and wonderful hosts. The breakfasts were first rate.

Review 50:No complaints

Review 51:Everything

Review 52:The owners went out of their way to may our stay beautiful

Review 53:Great hosts, clean and comfortable, excellent breakfast with great views Would definitely return

Review 54:San Donato in Poggi is a wonderful small Tuscan/Chianti town ... Beautiful outside dinning terrace ...

Review 55:Beautiful village and location with good view from the terrace. Very friendly service!

Review 56:lovely and warm hospitality by Poalo and Valeria, they were very kind, helpful and freindly. Execllent location just in the mid of Tuscany (close to every main attraction), The room was just perfect with tuscan view and unique style

Review 57:La terrazze de Chianti is situated in a small old village in the center of Tuscany. The rooms are furnitured with interesting objects which the owners Paolo and his wife Valeria have collected from all over the world. In the village there are three acceptable restaurants with typical Italian dishes. From La terrazze you can easily reach all important places of the Chianti region by car. Paolo and Valeria stem from Napoli. They are wonderful hosts. If you like they accept you as part of their family an if you wish, they prepare an excellent barbecue for you. We really enjoyed the stay in La Terrazze de Chianti!

Review 58:wi fi connection was sporadic

Review 59:We loved our stay at Le Terrazze Del Chianti!!! This B&B is located in the quaint town of San Donato...cobblestone streets, stone homes with tiled roofs offering the most scenic views of Tuscany. Valeria and Paolo renovated this lovely home, decorated it with fine antiques and added touches that reflect the true essence of Tuscany. They provided us with appetizers upon our arrival, prosecco for my husband's birthday, delicious breakfasts, recommendations on where to eat and were always available for our questions. The location was accessible to the towns we wanted to visit and provided us a wonderful home base. They have a true knack for providing warm and elegant accommodations and the personal touches that make you feel very welcomed. We visited in February and loved our stay but I would love to revisit in warmer weather when we could really enjoy the beauty and ambiance of their courtyard and outside areas!

Review 60:Impeccable hospitality of our hosts, Valeria and Paolo in their tastefully furnished home. The location of San Donato is great for visiting the Chianti region, Florence, Siena and San Gimignano.

Review 61:Nothing. I loved it all!

Review 62:Everything! This place reall blew us away! What a hidden gem!We arrived on a Sunday and were unable to rent a car, but Paolo was nice enough to pick us up at the bus station at San Danato - and even waited over an hour for us ( we got lost). We settled into our AMAZING room and went for dinner at a restaurant right outside our B&B, where we had the best pasta and wine I've ever had. Let me break down why this B&B was so amazing 1. The hosts. So helpful, so kind and welcoming. They arranged a few wine tours, tried to help us rent bikes/scooters ( nothing was available), and were there to help make our stay in San Danto as wonderful as possible. 2. THE VIEW. We had breakfast every morning overlooking the Tuscan hills, and enjoyed wine while looking at the sunset. 3. The rooms! Clean, huge, modern, yet old fashioned. So many unique touches - antiques everywhere. 4. You are in the middle of the town - with restaurants right outside your window. I can not rave about this place enough. You will not be disappointed if you choose to stay here while in Chianti. We had a home made Tuscan meal on our last night, and heard tales of Sicily. It was a lovely way to end our stay in Tuscany. My only tip : You do need a car, so don't travel on a Sunday.

Review 63:We absolutely loved this place, San Donato is beautiful small village in the centre of Chianti area, which is beautiful and peacefull area for people who like to relax, good wine and good food. Acomodation was even better than country around. Small pension with beautifull people , good food and realy nice room. If you plan a trip to tuscany, Le Teraze del Chianti is realy a place to stay.

Review 64:Possibly the best B&B in Tuscany. Paolo and Valeria and their three children are lovely hosts. Our room was beautiful, clean, and comfortable. All the furniture was repainted shabby chic style by Paolo himself. As soon as we arrived (it was quite late at night too), we were treated to complimentary glasses of Chianti wine and accompanying appetizers. Delicious breakfast - very good variety for all preferences, and Valeria's handmade cakes. From the terrace, you can see the landscapes of Tuscany. We decided to have dinner on the terrace one night - not cheap at 30e/person, but the experience was worth every euro. Try their hot chocolate! San Donato in Poggio is a lovely well-preserved village that we would have missed if we didn't stay at this B&B. Plenty of free street parking unless there is a special event. The location is very convenient for going to Florence, Siena, the Chianti region (all under/around 1 hr drive), and other Tuscan villages.

Review 65:Arrange transportation from the train station in advance. Cabs areexpensive if you arrive after the buses stop running.

Review 66:We absolutely loved the place. The location was beautiful and theproprieters were absolutely fantastic . The setting is in a historicCastle. The proprieters arranged a wine / olive tour for us. Theywere even kind enough to personally drive us to and from the vineyard sowe wouldn't have to walk in 2.5 Km in the heat.Their home was lovely and the views were striking. If you ever dreamt of traveling to Tuscany, staying in a castle and enjoying wine, olive oil and all that Tuscany offers, economically, this place is a must not miss.

Review 67:Everything was perfect at La Terazze Del Chianti. The room is very nice decorated, typical Tuscany. Every morning the breakfast was prepared by the host and was delicious! The landscapes are amazing and the village is also traditional for the region.

Review 68:The B&B is located in the middle of the excellently preserved, peaceful village of San Donato in Poggio, with a view of the hills of the Chianti region from the terrace. It is an excellent base to explore the Chianti region and towns by car. Paolo and Valeria are very friendly, and take time to talk to their guests and help them plan their trip... they serve an excellent breakfast, with home made cakes, and they have placed a good deal of attention to detail in the decor of the B&B, whose rooms are spacious and clean. You can enter the town to drop and pick up bags, and the parking is only a couple of minutes' walk away. I would definitely stay again and recommend this place without hesitation.

Review 69:The best place to stay in Tuscany! Very centrally located in a small authentic village in the middle of Tuscany. Great tranquil location for day-trips to Florence, Siena or San Gimignano. The owners are friendly, the rooms are very spacious, nicely decorated and have stunning views on the landscape, a true Tuscany experience!

Review 70:-Clean room with great shower and toilet amenities. -Terrace outside overlooking the hills. -Surprised by a bottle of chianti with fresh baked bread sticks and munchies upon arriving -Quiet location in a lovely medival village. -Lovely and welcoming owners, Valerie & Paolo made our stay even better. -Valerie baked pastries and cakes for breakfast. Fresh coffee, bread with some bacon and scrambled eggs.

Review 71:Paulo and his wife were Fantastic. The room was big and well designed. The breakfast was delicious.

Review 72:Nothing

Review 73:Absolutely fantastic place to stay. Lovely hosts, great cooks, and a wonderful room.

Review 74:Make you feel at home. Delightful hosts!

Review 75:It's simply perfect.

Review 76:A beautiful B&B at the center of San Donato in Poggio. Rooms and owners are perfect and friendly. Easy access to all Chianti area.
