Reviews for Pension Armelle Bed & Breakfast Tahiti
Review 1:Entry to water from the beach just down the steps was rocky and slippery, so we walked about half mile to the right and found a lovely beach for swimming.
Review 2:Our room was enormous with aquarium in it. We fed the fish everyday. Super comfy bed. Great private patio. Delightful staff.
Review 3:Not overly friendly, especially when first arriving. Don't count on their transfer service (airport or otherwise). Room very basic and not so shiny, clean.
Review 4:Very small, 4 guest-room, "family" type pension with restaurant as main business right on the beach. Free WIFI incl. sweetened the deal. It is a little hard to go into the water here due to jagged rocks and coral, but you can rent a kayak which would be a better bet than swimming. Great sunsets and view of Moorea.
Review 5:the place itself is awful, the room dirty, poor beds and linens, the toilet in the same room separated with a kind of wall. Terrible . No air condic. unless you add US 20,00 per day for using it. Bugs entered from the open window.
Review 6:the view to the sea
Review 7:Rooms in need of a update.
Review 8:The location and food were good. The family staff were friendly. What it lacked in amenities was made up with French quirkiness . It's a help yourself place. Basic
Review 9:The room was dirty and the shower and sink positively ingrained with grime. The toilet is also open plan! The bed mattress was so worn it was U shaped. The property is, generally, run down.
Review 10:The location is incredible. Literally right on the lagoon with the Le Meridien overwater chalets easily within sight. Plentiful kayaks are available for guest use, free. The coral reef starts 20 feet from the narrow beachfront.
Review 11:If getting picked up from the airport, keep your eyes peeled for your man worth the pick up sign. We saw him as we came through the arrivals Gaye but didn't realize he was there for us
Review 12:Stayed 3 nights here, all of which were very pleasant. Was able to get picked up and dropped off from the airport. Nice breakfast can be had sitting on the balcony over the beach!
Review 13:It really could be cleaner and the breakfast could be a lot better than just coffee and baguette. It's also expensive like everything else in French Polynesia.
Review 14:Relaxed place, the owner is cool, the location is great just by the beach.
Review 15:The furniture is very old and it was not clean. They are building some addtional rooms, so might want to specifically ask for one, as the old once are not good.
Review 16:The beach is not very good, but there is a fantastic snorkeling just in front of the hotel. The beach has also white sand and is better than most beaches in Tahiti, as they are black. The breakfast is very basic, typical french, but delicious.
Review 17:bit far from the town, very hot and humid room with air conditioning that has to be paid for, poor breakfast
Review 18:spacious room, big bathroom, beautiful terrace overlooking sea, fruit and drinking water always available, possibility to swim in the coral garden with a lot of fish, the personnel was very nice and caring, car rental in the same place.
Review 19:Overpriced, Cockroaches, Dirty. There was no toilet paper in 1 room. You have to pay $20 for AC. Barely any English spoken. Their "breakfast" was meager (bread and jam) and coffee was not good. They also had a dirty dog in the kitchen where they were cooking meals.
Review 20:The view of the Lagoon is nice. They offer free kayaks and snorkeling gear. WiFi connection was good from Room 6.
Review 21:Smoking allowed in restaurant.
Review 22:Great place to snorkel right from the narrow beach there. Free kayaks available and a calm lagoon to explore. Cheap rental car. Meals right overlooking the water. Friendly staff and French is the better language. Rotui pineapple juice always available.
Review 23:I booked this pension due to the offer of breakfast. Actually had to leave for airport at 6 but the people there were somehow unwilling to offer a drive. So I told them I would like to have breakfast at 6 and 7 o'clock for departure. They said no one worked at 6, so no breakfast for me, even though I informed them in advance. If your flight leaves early, please make sure the staff are ok with that otherwise choose somewhere else.
Review 24:The pension is located at the beach, which is perfect but quite faraway from anything. Good and cozy bed. Nice food, too.
Review 25:not friendly, did not communicate, no English spoken, had to ask for toilet paper, a glass for the bathroom, beach towel(was told to go buy one they had none) felt like we were intruding.
Review 26:food
Review 27:bugs cockroaches must pay for air clim $20/day short range wifi
Review 28:the view at the restaurant huge room number 6 cool water dispenser free parking pay with mastercard
Review 29:As advertised, free snorkel equipment was available but there was only one set of fins, 3 masks and no pipes. There was no information available how to get to town. Staff doesn't speak English. There were no comfortable seats available to sit in the garden or beach. Breakfast only bread and jam, very basic.
Review 30:We liked the location being on the waterfront and snorkelling right on the beach. Great reef too, lots of coral, fish count was low. They have a great kitchen and the meal of the day was good value and excellent taste.
Review 31:Unfortunately one of the owner's sons appeared unfriendly. He met us by arrangement at the airport in a two door mini which was totally unsuitable for two large suitcases and two travellers. Arriving at the hotel in the dark late at night, we were staggered to be shown to our room by torchlight and wondered what we had come to! The room (with air conditioning) was very poorly decorated and was very worn and "tired". The bathroom facilities are in the same room, separated by a low shoulder height wall giving no privacy. As the bed was close to the wall, one of us had to clamber over the bed to get in and out. The room we stayed in, needed refurbishment and netting in the windows so they could be kept open at night.
Review 32:Amazing location on beachfront with uninterrupted views of the Pacific ocean. Breakfast and evening meals were good value for money given the location of Tahiti which can be an expensive place to visit. Friendly owner who speaks English. We speak French so no problem. The Pension is in a really good position and if the owner was able to renovate the whole property, they would no doubt, be able to charge a lot more. Would stay there again as the ambiance and location outweighed the poor room and facilities. We wish the Owner every success with her business which has been in the family for some generations,
Review 33:shower holder needed attaching to wall. Very hot in room needed a ceiling fan. Had fan on a stand in corner but no more plugs to move in front of window. Also needed a mattress cover under sheet.
Review 34:clean room, comfortable bed, friendly staff. Wonderful position right on beach. Quiet location & easy to catch bus to city or walk to shops nearby.
Review 35:Lovely place on the beach. We bathed and admired a wonderful sunset into the sea. Friendly staff . Good Plat du Jour. They also have " a la carte " resto.Good room and bathroom.
Review 36:the transfer from the airport to the hotel takes 15 min and the hotel taxi was as expensive as the public taxi. the bathroom and the towls werent that clean. we didnt get plates for the breakfast. the homepage is not that well prepared.
Review 37:i liked the selfmade guave jam and the coffee in the morning. the room was ok, but not that clean. the price was fair for the room and the breakfast. i liked the flexible transfer to the airport. some of the staff were really friendly but not all of them.
Review 38:Room could definitely do with some TLC.
Review 39:The location and the price of the room. The food was good and reasonnably priced.
Review 40:Additional charge for air conditioner
Review 41:Standard of cleanliness was very bad
Review 42:Restaurant overlooking sea
Review 43:There is a coral beach just outside the pension, very good for snorkelling. Within walking distance, there is a big supermarket named Super U.
Review 44:Shower didn't work right;
Review 45:Facility was right on the beach; staff warm and friendly; room Spartan but comfortable.
Review 46:The beach is good. Delicious and not expensive.
Review 47:Value for money is not that good overall but in Tahiti not that bad either. As we stayed only one night in Tahiti we were looking for something cheap and not too far from the Papeete which was not easy at all. We appreciated the possibility to use kayak for free and we enjoyed it very much.
Review 48:The roulette is very close to the pension. Delicious and not expensive. The beach is good. Kayak is free. I saw the ray close to the hotel. The atmosphere is like at home.
Review 49:A bit far from the airport
Review 50:Spacious
