Reviews for Oostappen Vakantiepark Arnhem

Review 1:one of the staff members was very rude to all of us and even swearing at one of the girls pregnant in the group. The place is freezing all we had was a small gas heater that had to be left on all the time even when we was out other wise when we got back we couldnt stick the cold.

Review 2:To be honest there was not one bit any of of liked about the stay at the park

Review 3:Nothing.

Review 4:Everything. For the purpose it was just perfect. We wanted to have a non too expensive two-nights stay to visit the Camper Fair in Utrecht and the 5-Persons Chalet was just perfect for us three (2 adults + one 9 year old child. We even had television. Heating and warm water worked perfect. Kitchen was practical for breakfast and preparing some small dishes in the evening. Was really cuddly. The chalet even comes with pets in the garden (two rabbits + one really nice cat) :-).

Review 5:Staff, all very unfriendly and rude. Quality of interior of chalet; holes in couches, very very dusty furniture and broken heater that constantly clicked and blew out heat that couldn't be turned off.(can't comment on other chalets, only the one we received). Park did not have the general nice and friendly vibe that the majority of campsites have. Staff were rude, unfriendly and unhelpful.

Review 6:There seemed to be sufficient sanitary provisions for the site, and a shop. Was close to tourist attractions and the city of Arnhem. In fairness the chalet had a nice outdoor area with picnic table, shed and parking space with nice green area surrounding all.

Review 7:Disappointed there where no towels included with the linen. Surprised there was no way of making toast.

Review 8:The price, The Bar, restaurant food,The block Showers, and location.

Review 9:Only thing not liked was we were put at opposite ends of park and as a carer for the 6 veterans I took was a little issue but spoke to them and got it resolved

Review 10:Very clean and well maintained park staff friendly and helpful

Review 11:Couldn't find my chalet for at least 30 mins wasn't shown to it just directed from entrance , confusing as couldn't see numbers properly ??Not good

Review 12:Basic but comfortable Need wifi in chalets ! Plus optional sky Smell of damp in shower ? But plenty of hot water very good ! Small welcome pack would be good also IE Tea coffee milk sugar

Review 13:We found the lighting in the cabin a bit dim. There are enough lights but the bulbs were medium wattage.

Review 14:Good value, good location, good facilities, friendly staff. We were parachuting and had very early starts so a hotel would not have been so suitable.

Review 15:working hours of reception, super market, swimming pool, may be our june visit was off season - as children's holiday starts from july overall our visit was ok...

Review 16:Location, nice

Review 17:We asked the receptionbasic questions such as the location of the Arnhem Museum and it felt like drawing blood from a stone, I left the office no wiser. More seriously our children where penned in the swimming pool by a group of racist children and subject to abuse. There was only one guard and he was no where to be seen. You cannot check in till 4pm but the onsite supermarket closes at 3pm. Travellers coming from far a field should be very aware of this. Seems to be a daft policy on the part of the park owners, The last thing people want to do is start searching for a supermarket after driving for many hours with children.

Review 18:A good park which is only let down by the reception area. We where in the older value wooden style caravans, Excellent better than sites in UK and each caravan has its own shed and large garden, Haven and Butlins could learn lessons

Review 19:too expensive even we had the tent on discount, it was still almost 150 euro's for 2 days!

Review 20:the entertainment; the location; the swimmingpool, even we didn't use it

Review 21:Nothing was written in English or German. No time was given of opening and closing the Supermarket. How does the Heater works? No explanation in other languages.

Review 22:The Stay was super. Privacy was given, clean, and good infra structure. For the Price it was top!

Review 23:It was disgusting! Smoking is allowed in all cabins, why? Even pillows, mattresses and comforters smelled like smoke! It kept us out of our sleep. especially one of my friends who has asthma, and had to use her extra medication several times. All my stuff smelled like smoke after I got back home, even the clothes that I didn't wear, and my pyjamas were the worst. There was also mold in the bed bases and in the bathroom. We couldn't get the heating to operate and it was so humid that our towels wouldn't dry. Fortunately it was only for 2 days, and we didn't spend much time at the park or in the cabin. But I feel very bad for families who have booked a full week or more. This is a very unhealthy place for children. We spoke to several other guests at the park about these issues, and all of them shared our experience and opinion. Such a shame, because the size of the cabin (very small but practical and fully stocked), the amenities and the surroundings could've made this park a big hit.

Review 24:It was very cheap, and location was good, close to Arnhem and Hoge Veluwe national park. The fact that the highway was so close by didn't bother us at all.

Review 25:Chalets are very old and tired, also very clostrophobic, far to small. The bedrooms are not functional due to lack of space.

Review 26:Location is great, facilities are good.

Review 27:Paying for taxis to Arnhem. Amenities were not always open e.g shop or restaurant. Especially when we arrived at 4pm and had no food or drink and couldn't buy anything as shop was closed. Cups in chalets were the size of fimbles, had to use 2 or 3 to have a decent amount of tea or coffee.

Review 28:Accommodation cramped Cold and damp at night Unhelpful staff Limited opening hours of facilities including supermarket Beds uncomfortable

Review 29:Location Price

Review 30:Grumpy unfriendly unhelpful manager. Voucher said check in 5-8pm. Arrived at 6pm - nobody there - had to phone a number but only got voicemail. No towels provided. Got charged for 5 lots of bed linen when there was only 2 of us. Difficult to get to city centre without the car. Lots of other guests reported getting ripped off by taxis. Toilet smelt bad.

Review 31:Easy driving distance to Arnhem, Ede and Oostappen. Could park car outside our cabin.

Review 32:The motorway, no where l could see there was a motorway within 30 metres of our comfort caravan, the noise was so loud we could not sleep properly, if i had my family no way would l stay. When l told the reception she said yes its loud and terrible, all you got to do is email us not to put us near the motorway YES I WOULD IF I KNEW, We travel a lot, first time here and sadly because of the caravan position it may be the last Shame as the rest of your site is first class ( if i know l would pay extra)

Review 33:The rest of the site was first class, all the staff were great, bar and facilities were clean and very good.

Review 34:I didn't like having to use their linen and pay for it despite bringing my own. This lack of choice was not clear on booking and was an unexpected expensive extra for a weekend break.

Review 35:The location was really good for commemoration events at Arnhem. Was a good choice for a weekend. Don't know if it would suit our family in summer for a week or more, it is a very big site.

Review 36:Musty accommodations, opening hours of facilities. We arrived a little after 4pm and the office was closed. Since we couldn't check in until 3pm we found this weird. There were others there in the same predicament who did not have a phone. I called the main number and someone came out immediately to give us our key. These accomodations are a step up from camping. The trailers are not well insulated so much condensation builds up over night. I doubt these trailers ever get completely aired out. I could smell the mustiness as soon as I walked in and couldn't be in one room because of the mildew smell - and my children had to sleep there. If you have asthma or allergies steer clear.

Review 37:Great location and value for money. The staff is very friendly. Plenty of hot water.

Review 38:Being charged for bedding that I did not need or ask for when booking, even after selecting "No bedding" on booking.com website! Chalet stunk of smoke from previous occupants. Very slow service within the restaurant waited an hour and a half for our meals! which arrived at different times.

Review 39:Reasonable prices for staying, fair facilities within a lovely setting.

Review 40:No Double bed, but we got round this by pushing two beds together

Review 41:Very Clean Everything we needed for a self catering break Quiet and Peaceful Lots of cycling direct from the site

Review 42:The bedrooms are tiny, with virtually no storage. Just 30cm clearance around the double bed. No where to store suitcases.

Review 43:Peaceful, wooded location. Friendly, helpful staff. Restaurant & bar great value for money (good food too).

Review 44:Reception opening time of 10am is too late for most travellers who want to get out and do things. Poor parking areas, easily waterlogged, ruined a good pair of shoes of mine. Difficult to find, easier instructions can be issued, especially from Oosterbeek, September's most important occasion. Will definitely be staying somewhere else next year.

Review 45:The relative peace and quiet - because people without children would not stay in the park in the evening, they would go out to local restaurants and towns for their entertainment.

Review 46:Opening times of shop and bars not good.also we booked and had to leave a credit card for booking over the phone, when we got there they didnt take the cardhad to drive a few miles for cash.it wasnt explained , and if anyone just takes a credit card to pay , then you are in a bit of bother

Review 47:Lovely area , lot of history in the area , operation market garden took place nearby, we were there for 70th year anniversary

Review 48:I'm not particularly fussed and rough it in trips all the time, however, if you're looking for particularly comfortable beds or luxurious facilities this is not for you. It does provide good access to local area and value for money, personally I slept quite well after a few beers!

Review 49:We used this as cheap accommodation for a tour of the Op Market Garden and the two bridges. Well placed only 6 km from Arnham, nearby resteraunts. Good value for money.

Review 50:far from the town if after 11 staff dont even call a taxi after 10 supermarket opens 8-11am...3-8pm those times or no good for hangovers

Review 51:the cheap prices the supermarket, bar, restraunt onsite felt like living in a forrest

Review 52:Chalet are excellent, clean, warm and very helpful staff. Will be visiting again from Norfolk UK. Regards Antony Harris

Review 53:No free wifi

Review 54:Amazing price, very nice environment

Review 55:The rooms were not very tidy Tiny black debris kept falling every day

Review 56:Friendly and helpful staff

Review 57:No instructions in English in the chalet

Review 58:The area,friendly staff,friendly people,easy to get around without a car

Review 59:The chalet the pool and the other pool side facility's

Review 60:northing

Review 61:everything

Review 62:Expected a double bed only got single beds

Review 63:Everything is fine, Thanks

Review 64:We liked the pool

Review 65:1.The location is a little bit confusing (no big sign by the main road 2. The cleanliness can be improved

Review 66:The environment and facilities

Review 67:not disabled friendly no ramps to get into the chalets in wheelchair, no space around the bed for wheelchair,

Review 68:the location

Review 69:Cold

Review 70:Some beds in mobile home were too small.

Review 71:Good value for money and a very pleasant setting.

Review 72:- paid sheets and no towel

Review 73:- helpful and flexible staff - facilities - location

Review 74:Very disappointed that upon arrival you get an extra charge of bedding. This needs to be told at the point of the booking not when you arrive.

Review 75:Too far from bus top.

Review 76:Lack of Wi Fi over the whole park area..after all,it is 2014 !!!

Review 77:Everything

Review 78:No one at reception at 5pm and tried to charge €40 extra very poor and amateurish

Review 79:campsite and accomodation needs updating

Review 80:staff helpful and friendly

Review 81:Nice surroundings and peaceful. Good location to explore this lovely and historical area.

Review 82:Had to drive to find restaurant, no toaster.

Review 83:Shop and bar on the site,

Review 84:All good

Review 85:Good central location

Review 86:Staff was friendly always. The overall camp ground was clean and neat. Great experience for me. I shall return

Review 87:Nothing

Review 88:Great location with very competative prices. DP

Review 89:The home was a bit smelly. It was no good going to say anything because they were full up and we had no other option.

Review 90:Cafe didnt open much

Review 91:Location

Review 92:Quite a distance from Arnhem / oosterbeek

Review 93:Great value for money

Review 94:Very unclean extremely disappointed we left a day and a half early from out holiday due to the dirt and run down site. Unhygienic mattresses

Review 95:Chalet was unbalanced, we could feel the whole thing moving with every step. Nothing was in English, The pool opened too late, and closed to early.

Review 96:Nice location, Loved the feeling of being in the forest.

Review 97:We had ants in our trailer and the pool only stayed open until 5pm.

Review 98:The beautiful setting of the trees. It's a quiet location close to de Hoge Veluwe.

Review 99:We had a lovely experience here. The accommodation was as we had expected, clean, well equipped and comfortable. The staff were very helpful and pleasant and the facilities perfect. Thank you.

Review 100:With this place I have lived the most surreal experience ever. It is in the middle of nowhere and difficult to find. After 20 min and the assistance of a GPS, I managed to find the place. The booking confirmation was for a room with a cost of €35, they wanted to charge €75 saying that cleaning was not inclusive in the price given by Booking. No additional advise was provided on the booking confirmation at this respect. This is stealing money from people, this is fraud. Bookings shouldn't allow people like this to advertise on its site.

Review 101:Was not allowed to swim with clothes on in pool

Review 102:The guy and lady at the bar (the young one)
