Reviews for Design Hotel Modez

Review 1:Hotel is next to the railway and you can hear the trains passing by. This wasn't a big issue for us but if you are a light sleeper you may want to bring along earplugs.

Review 2:Comfortable and beautifully decorated room with excellent shower. Friendly and helpful staff. Hotel is situated in a very nice area of Arnhem (in the middle of the fashion district and walking distance from city center). There is a nice bar next to the hotel.

Review 3:Beautiful rooms! All unique and look great, stayed with some friends so got to check out their rooms too. Has Nespresso machine, nice TV, nice powerful shower, comfy bed. Highly recommend. Reception staff were very friendly too.

Review 4:Parking is free in the surroundings streets, occasionally struggled to find a space.

Review 5:Lovely clean rooms, comfortable bed and delicious breakfast. Close to shops and restaurants.

Review 6:Sink in open plan bedroom, coffee machine that was beyond our understanding in room, would of prefered simple kettle. Only one room key despite two occupents. Breakfast adequate but maybe due to size of hotel linited in choice, continental yes, but only just.

Review 7:Liked the designed rooms, we stayed the patchwork room , wont spoil surprise but very happy with design of room including really tall roomy shower, I am 6"7 and I was in shower heaven. Multi lingual receptionist.

Review 8:Great place ... So much fun! Lots of nice details and very cool place. Nice breakfast, great bar and lovely stuff. Close to some great coffeeshops

Review 9:Beautifully decorated and clean room. Would have loved to see the other rooms as well. Great atmosphere overall. Within walking distance of Arnhem city centre in a small Fashion-district.

Review 10:Nothing. All was perfect.

Review 11:This hotel represents everything that should rate 5 stars in my opinion. A stylish, interesting fun hotel. Comfortable and clean. The staff were all extremely helpful and friendly. Thoroughly recommend this fab little hotel!!

Review 12:The only negative thing was a mechanical noise (like a cow mooing) that kept coming through the wall behind the bed/bathroom (room 34). Usually it would only happen occasionally and for not very long, so it usually wasn't bothersome. But the night of Monday, May 25th the sound would come every 30 seconds - 2 minutes and it was much louder then than previously. It was very difficult to sleep that night.

Review 13:The staff were very friendly and helpful in many regards. The building design is very interesting and modern. I loved that there were only 30-some rooms and that each room had a different theme. Made it feel less like a hotel and more personable.

Review 14:No fridge on the room. Very expensive WiFi (free in the lobby though).

Review 15:We loved the spacious room, the pool, the gym and the lobby. The housekeeping woke us up early by mistake. The man behind the reception provided us free breakfast for the inconvenience. How nice!

Review 16:You cannot charge your drinks or dinner to your room in the restaurant, but this is a very minor inconvenience.

Review 17:The comfort of the hotel. It has a very homely feel. The staff were very friendly. The location is quite good. Just 10-15 minutes walk from the train station, and located in a quite area. The restaurant beside the hotel serves fabulous food. Very good value for money overall.

Review 18:We stayed in "Small Double Room" and we found the bed was rather small for the many pillows there. I am not very tall (167cm) and I felt my legs already on the edge of the bed. And my boyfriend is very tall so I could only imagine his feet were hanging most of the night. However, the bed condition itself was nice. We slept well regardless the size.Wifi was rather weak around our room.

Review 19:I love the design --it is very special. Normally in a giant hotel chains, this type of concept would cost a fortune. So I am very happy. The room is (or at least looks) new --very well maintained and very clean, too. The staffs are very friendly.

Review 20:the train runs pretty close to the hotel, in the morning it can be a bit annoying if you want to sleep until late. In the night it does not run.

Review 21:the design of this hotel is amazing. The reception staff is super friendly. Bars and restaurants just besides the hotel. Nice breakfast. I'm looking forward to going back!!!

Review 22:It's located next to a railway line. Windows are double glazed but if you are a light sleeper you might want to ask for a room facing the other way.

Review 23:It's in a very nice, trendy area of Arnhem with lots of fashionable shops and bars. Still only 10 mins walk to the city centre. Hotel is very trendy as well, with lots of fun design ideas.

Review 24:Sound isolation is a bit of a problem. A lot of design does not guarantee a lot of functionality unfortunately. Rooms are not so soundproof in the room itself and noise of passing trains remains. None of the electricity worked in our Deluxe mezzanine room (n° 24) so we were transferred to a standard room, not such a pleasant start of our stay.

Review 25:Funny hotel with different touch and design themes. Breakfast is great. Location is on spot in the vibrant and lovely fashion district. Caspar bar downstairs is a great trendy spot to have a drink or snack. A good address in Arnhem and quite closeby to everything.

Review 26:Huge embroidered spider on the curtain was a really bad idea. Didn't spot it until bedtime and it took 15 minutes for my heartrate to return to normal. It could have caused a REAL problem for someone even more scared of spiders than me. We paid for parking but would have been unable to get the car out when the market was on.

Review 27:Rooms were quirky and very comfortable. Buffet breakfast was excellent quality and superb value. Great to have the adjoining bar and restaurant, which had a lovely atmosphere.

Review 28:The size of the bed was way to small for 2 persons. Maybe if you’re a couple, cuddling all night. Also the Wifi was out of range in our room on the top floor.

Review 29:The staff was really nice and helpful. The breakfast was tasty and a lot choice. Fresh Orangejuices, Croissants, Fair Trade Jam, typical dutch products aswell.

Review 30:There was nothing not to like!

Review 31:I loved the individuality of the rooms and the friendliness of the staff. I would definitely choose to stay at this hotel again. Great breakfast, only sorry i didn't get to sample Caspar next door!

Review 32:Room was a little small, even for 1 person. I think it could be challenging for staying longer than 1 night, especially if you more than 1 person is sharing the room.

Review 33:- Walking distance to city center - Room was a bit small, but still comfortable - Breakfast was very nice

Review 34:Train noise - it wasn't too bad and I guess not a problem if you are on the other side of the building

Review 35:Had a lot of fun with the individual design of the room Great breakfast

Review 36:Nothing at all.

Review 37:Location, just outside the centre of town. Decor was awesome! Rooms spotless and cosy. Use the lift once and enjoy the treat. Bar (12 beers!!!)/restaurant next door joint with hotel. Staff friendly and helpful, gave me a map which proved very useful. Breakfast was delicious, scrambled egg and bacon OM NOM NOM. Numerous Wifi connections available throughout the town free aswell as hotel. 15 mins walk to the main station where bike hire was available.

Review 38:10 minute walk to Arnhem, through an area which may seem a little daunting to some people.

Review 39:Staff were friendly, super attentive and really helpful. Room was lovely.

Review 40:Great if your minimalistic but like most you bring luggage with clothes not much storage space air con wasn't the best

Review 41:Breakfast was good and wifi also trendy cafe bar next door very good

Review 42:It’s located in the heart of the fashion district, only 10 minutes away from the city centre. Thirty Dutch (fashion) designers came up with surprising concepts that characterize their style and in addition all the rooms. I think it worked out very well and reminded me of my stay at Hotel Fox in Copenhagen. We had the pleasure of staying in a room designed by Antoine Peters. He made a contemporary version of patchwork and filled the room with QR codes. Turns out, if you scan the codes you’re in for a kinky surprise… Modez has a very special elevator: you can stop it at any given moment and enjoy the tiny museum you’ve actually entered. Just stay at Modez and enjoy good design. You won’t regret it, full stop.

Review 43:Rooms aré really fun, breakfast perfect, excellent situation, close to design shops and cool restaurants

Review 44:it`s not my style, the trains and the refrigeratior makes quite some noice

Review 45:good bed, nice breakfast

Review 46:Care of design for every detale

Review 47:Individual room decoration and great breakfast

Review 48:Very pleasant staff. Proximity to city centre Unique style although had minor effect on 'comfort and ease of use'

Review 49:Could hear a band playing in or near the building on Sunday afternoon - quite loud

Review 50:Ideally located Friendly and helpful staff Quirky and stylish rooms

Review 51:Nothing

Review 52:Great funky interior design

Review 53:Beautiful hotel in a great part of town. Very friendlyand helpful service at the desk.

Review 54:great hotel perfect location.

Review 55:Brilliant location, friendly and helpful staff.

Review 56:The bedrooms were fantastic. Great service. Nice breakfast.

Review 57:Rooms can be a bit noisy from the bar downstairs

Review 58:It was a great experience. Staff were great rooms were very good & location was excellent

Review 59:barren bathroom

Review 60:breakfast

Review 61:Everything was excellent.

Review 62:There is no room service.

Review 63:The art design makes it a hotel you wouldn't easily forget.

Review 64:Rooms are quite small

Review 65:Staff Location Bar downstairs

Review 66:Can't fault it.

Review 67:Fantastic hotel and good value for money. Enjoyed our stay and would recommend it.

Review 68:quirky interesting and functional hotel design concept

Review 69:Lovely hotel with a fashionable flair. Excellent lift which is covered in photos. Room quite exotic and breakfast room amazing!

Review 70:Very friendly, a quality small quiet hotel, difficult to locate though, in an art and craft shop area a little away from the centre. Perfect

Review 71:Funky room

Review 72:The room was a little bit unfunctional. The shower was weird.

Review 73:Good tv, good breakfast

Review 74:There was not so much space in the room where I could put my things (laptop, clothes, etc),..the room was gorgeous though!

Review 75:The elevator, even it was slow, it was like a book,..and the helpful staff!

Review 76:what could you not like here??? not possible.

Review 77:this hotel is an experience in itself. I cannot say enough good things about it. It's in a location, which I would not call super central, but it takes 10 minutes on foot to be in the very center of town and it's an interesting walk. But really, stay here, to be in this hotel - it is so well done. Whether or not the rooms are to your taste is up to you (they are all very different in design - not all to my taste, but all of them lots of fun and very well laid out considering the space available.) This hotel is one of the very most enjoyable hotels I have ever stayed in and I have stayed in many around the world. Try it! Cannot recommend it enough. B/fast is also very good! Make sure you use the elevator...you will love it..... The restaurant nextdoor, Caspar, is another fantastic addition to the hotel ( and very inexpensive)

Review 78:Stairs were very noisy - so ask for a high up room so there won't be too much passing traffic. Earplugs were supplied - thoughtful but an admission of the noise problem with the stairs perhaps? Maybe some carpeting on the stairs would help to deaden the noise? A little more attention to detail would have been good - just small things like some softer drapes on the windows to hide the parked cars and the wheelie bin outside the breakfast room, and on the bedroom to hide the other terraces looking onto my room. Coat hooks in bathroom and main room would be good too. Curtains didn't block out the light, so bring an eye mask.

Review 79:Great design ideas - the haberdashery-themed room felt really special. Nespresso machine with new capsules and bottled water each day was a great touch, restaurant next door is a lovely place to hang out. Seemed like a nice quiet part of town but not too far to walk to the centre either. Breakfast was perfectly fine - nice scrambled egg and bacon. Friendly helpful staff.

Review 80:Next to railway, although not really disturbing a good nights rest.

Review 81:Design of the rooms is different than average. Excellent beds. Walking distance to city center. Friendly and helpful staff.

Review 82:Proximity to the Railway Line

Review 83:Being so often in Chain Hotels, what was great about this hotel was just how different it was, and also each & every room. Friendly, easy going stuff

Review 84:We were in the "camping" room and it was not comfortable to work at the fold down desk and lawn chair you remove from the wall.

Review 85:It was a funky hotel with each room designed by a different local designer. The lift was very cool, and there is a vibrant restaurant right behind the hotel.

Review 86:the wallpaper in the green 'chanel' room is terrible, i could not rest because of that, too much, too hectic. My eyes want to rest as well when im in a hotel room. The cushions are not good.

Review 87:great design is the hotel, stylish.

Review 88:The rail way line was a bit close. Would have liked to be able to open a window.

Review 89:Really friendly. Quirkey interesting rooms. Really nice area to stay in close to interesting small shops and nice bars. Can walk easily into downtown Arnhem,

Review 90:the staff is a bit amateuristic: it is pleasant but could be annoying as well

Review 91:it is really different having chosen fasion as the trademark for hotel and room lay-out it is nice and small

Review 92:- it's very close to the train track - they didn't empty my trash can - the room could have used some dusting

Review 93:- good airconditioning - good breakfast - friendly staff

Review 94:The decor was rather challenging at 11.00pm. Not the least bit restful. The lack of availability of an ironing board made pressing clothes awkward.

Review 95:Arrangements were, ade for a very late arrival.

Review 96:I missed a full length mirror. I woke up early because of the train, but I left the window open.

Review 97:The room was small but felt spacious enough, and was nicely decorated. The bed was great, so was the shower. Lots of water pressure. Staff were really friendly and helpfull. Location is walking distance to the centre, on a nice little square.

Review 98:Every room in the hotel is decotated differently. This makes for a very interesting stay if you are a business person and need to stay at a hotel in Arnhem regularly. The breakfast, staff, and service were all first class. I can highly recommend this hotel. Close to the city centre, with plenty of things going on in the hotel locality.

Review 99:Location next to the train tracks, could be a bit noisy.

Review 100:Friendly service, great shower, interesting design. Breakfast was good. Free wifi. Everything was clean and new.

Review 101:Nothing even resembling a work desk in room. Breakfast is not bad butcertainly not remarkable, compared to nearby hotels.

Review 102:Their efforts to make a hotel stay more of an artful experience. Theonly elevator (lift) in the world where you might just decide to pass upyour own floor and ride on further.

Review 103:New open of the hotel, so still a little smell.

Review 104:Everywhere is designed and good taste. Staff there is very nice and tellthe designer And Concept of your room. Breakfast was great. Willrecommend to friends.

Review 105:Our room was next to the railroad track so trains whizzed by most of the night.

Review 106:Beautifully designed room with nespresso machine and plenty of wall outlets. Very comfortable bed. Friendly staff. Decent breakfast. Free parking place in front of the hotel

Review 107:What a querkie hotel in a great location

Review 108:Building and bedrooms felt clinical, terribly hard bed.

Review 109:Location was good, walking distance to shops.

Review 110:creativity of the rooms

Review 111:Nothing to complain about

Review 112:Friendly staff, good service and clean comfortable rooms

Review 113:Really nice design of hotel and rooms. Awesome museum in the lift. Great cafe (caspar) next door

Review 114:Too close to railway Slightly small room

Review 115:Descent breakfast Free Parking Good Wifi Nice Staff

Review 116:Some room design is too upfront, that is not suitable for conservative people

Review 117:rooms are modern and very clean. Rain shower. Short walk to the city center.

Review 118:Breakfast

Review 119:Too noisy

Review 120:The hotel overall, nice rooms, great breakfast, loved the shower !

Review 121:Design, style, comfort, friendliness of staff, caspar restaurant attached to the hotel, overall atmosphere
