Reviews for Hotel Salò du Parc

Review 1:Nothing at all... but shower would benefit with a handrail when getting out as ledge slippy where you have to stand to get out.

Review 2:Location,surroundings, peaceful, spacious, very clean & great staff and good breakfast.

Review 3:The town of Salo was very picturesque and very friendly people too, we had a great time with plenty to see and do.hotel was lovely where we stayed, in its own grounds with private gardens and pool. Good value for money, we would go back to same hotel maybe next year.

Review 4:would have preferred a shower rather than a shower over the bath. tended to either give very hot or very cold.

Review 5:great location with helpful staff- not too large a hotel so there were plenty of sun loungers and the pool was adequate for the number of residents. The community of Salo was really great - good eating place nearly.

Review 6:italy endured a heatwave and the aircon was hopelessly inadequate. We sweltered all day and all night. Thanstaff were very defensive and suggested we go elsewhere, or rather not to use booking.com next time somwe couls get a better room.

Review 7:pool.location.Breakfast. everyhting really except the hopless aircon.

Review 8:Bar prices were ridiculous (3 euros for tiny water, 6 euros for a small beer) which is a shame as we would have liked to spend more evenings in the lovely outdoor lounge. Service slow at the bar

Review 9:Superb location. Beautiful view. Reception staff are excellent. Really gorgeous hotel. Don't bother with the pool - go onto the lake and swim there - it's very clean and safe.

Review 10:We were on 5th floor, the lift only went as far as the 4th floor so had to carry heavy cases up flight of stairs. Rather rude lady in reception one morning, asked if I was a resident and demanded my room number in rather an aggressive manner.

Review 11:Lovely breakfast and waiting staff very pleasant Great Location

Review 12:The hotel was comfortable and clean, our room was spacious with a view of the lake as requested. Staff were professional but friendly, breakfast offered a good variety of cold and cooked foods. The short walk to the town centre was pleasant. I would recommend this hotel and would stay here again .

Review 13:The hotel is perfect for first time visitors to lake garda as it is in an ideal location to enjoy both the restaurants and all the wonderful sights, sports and leisure activities that are available in the surrounding areas.Staff, service, food and facilities are top notch.

Review 14:The air con is not quite strong enough.

Review 15:Great hotel, very nice location in a peaceful area. It has been refurbished and is now better than ever. Lovely lake views from all rooms, and very pleasant gardens and pool area. Staff all very nice and helpful.

Review 16:The pool was so so cold. We stayed at end of may weather was greatneeded a dip in the pool but noone could go in it was ice cold. We couldonly look at it took away from the hotel a bit as they aren't anybeaches near by

Review 17:Stunning views great breakfast and staff very friendly and helpful.Location good bus stop right outside however be careful of thetimetables and it can b difficult to get a return bus from train stationafter certain time overall great stay

Review 18:Very thin walls, we could here everything happening in the rooms of our neighbours. The territory of the hotel is smaller than expected from its name and the photos. The breakfast is average.

Review 19:Location near on the lake and near the restaurants and shops of Salo (3-5 minutes walk). View of the lake from the room.

Review 20:Hotel was lovely, staff very friendly, including cleaning and restaurant staff.Lovely setting with every room having a view of the lake.We would definitely go back here again.

Review 21:Staff were unfriendly and quite inflexible. Car parking fee is quiteexcessive at eur15 per day - on top of the room rate.

Review 22:Very spacious room and bathroom Huge bed and quite comfortable Greatbalcony Good out of season rate 10 minute walk to most places in Salo

Review 23:Nothing

Review 24:The location of the hotel could not be better. Within walking distance of the centre of salo with many restaurants and bars. Also within walking distance to pick up lake boats.

Review 25:I have absolutely no negative comments to make

Review 26:This was my first trip to Lake Garda & I had heard that it was beautiful but it is a simply stunning place! The hotel was in a great location, Salo & our room had a fantastic view over the lake. What's not to like? The staff were very friendly & helpful - the bar stayed open until 10pm but we were still in there drinking until 10.45pm but we were never hurried along. On our last night we chatted to the guy on reception for ages & he was very helpful in giving us all the bus info we needed. Our room was clean & cleaned daily. There are plenty of restaurants, bars & shops in Salo & the boats run from the square across & over the lake, which is a trip well worth doing. I intend to bring my daughter to Lake Garda as I loved every second of it & as my headline says it is simply stunning & we will definitely be staying at Hotel Salo du Parc again! Thank you for a wonderful time!

Review 27:Parking was a bit difficult. The breakfast was OK but not worth the money. Hotel was very expensive for what was provided. I would not call this a 4 star hotel maybe a 3 star at best.

Review 28:The location was great, in a very quite part of the lake. The small town was beautiful. Service was good and all people were helpful and friendly.

Review 29:Location beside the lake, but just a little way out of the hustle and bustle of the small town was excellent. All staff were very attentive. Restaurant staff in particular were very cheerful and helpful. Swimming in the lake with easy access from hotel was super.

Review 30:But it's a shame that in a 4 star hotel we were provided with an air conditioner which did not work PROPERLY. It just made a noise without actually cooling the air. And that problem affected the quality of our holiday.

Review 31:The room was really big and the view from the balcony was stunning.

Review 32:Thermostatically controlled shower would have been an improvement. Male member of reception staff a little too officious- pity as females all very helpful.

Review 33:Location was perfect for person with some walking difficulties. Lovely quiet hotel, beautiful views. Had wonderful holiday Very helpful staff ( one exception).

Review 34:Nothing only having to leave!

Review 35:Hotel is in excellent position so close to shops and restaurants with lovely setting on the lake. The staff were so helpful and friendly, all speaking excellent English. They really tried to make our stay the best they could. I would suggest if staying with car to book a parking space. We were lucky and because it was quiet there was one space left. Our room was great with balcony and views of the lake.

Review 36:Upon arrival at the hotel, I entered my room to find it looking grubby to say the least. All of the walls were a mess through dirt, scuff marks, foot prints and squatted flies (complete with dried blood) being present on every wall. The room looked a mess and did not come close to meeting my expectations of what I expected to be presented with given the amount of money i had paid for this hotel. I reported the matter to the staff and requested a different room after pointing out and showing them the problems in the room. In return i received a rude and abrupt response and given the impression that they simply could not understand what my complaint was, even though it was right there in front of their face to see. Again, not what I expected from a 4 star hotel and given previous reviews. In the end, the hotel offered me another room however the view of the lake was poor from it, so I ended up staying in the shabby excuse for a 4 star room anyway. On top of this, the general look and facilities in the room were poor. It was plain, lacked decor and unless you're willing to hold your phone over the balcony to get a wifi signal, it's none existent. Overall, my experience of this hotel was extremely disappointing. The only thing that saved it was the view of the lake. Having stayed in hotels all over the world and being well aware of what good service, a good room and value for money is, this hotel has a long way to go in achieving any of the above, especially given the amount they charge per night, and given that they're supposed to be 4 star. In short, spend your hard earned cash somewhere else, there's many more good hotels with great views around lake Garda. One last thing, the bus service is awful from Desenzano to Salo. Take the ferry if you can!

Review 37:An excellent view of Lake Garda Comfort of the bed Good selection of breakfast Good location

Review 38:Everything about hotel salò du parc was wonderful. The views are breathtaking. It's quiet and peaceful and lovely. The staff was gracious and helpful. We could swim in the lake and go right to the outdoor lounge area to play cards or read. We all loved it. Plus, Lago di Garda is a beautiful area, Salò especially.

Review 39:Even though the hotel advertises WI-FI in all areas it was not available in the bedroom which was a big problem for my teenage daughter

Review 40:Staff were polite and helpfull, location was perfect because it on the lake and a short walk into town, room was spacious and well-decorated and breakfast was plentiful and excellent

Review 41:Poor food selection for Breakfast. Reception staff didn't know about the common activities around the lake. We had to go to the information centre which was about 750 meters away. They didn't have parking space for our car and we had to park in a public parking and pay 12 euros a day

Review 42:Location, view, spacious rooms, quite. Cleaning staff were very helpful

Review 43:The service at reception, not very friendly on arrival, not sufficiant parking place

Review 44:Large room, good food, nice view on the lake and garden / pool

Review 45:Poor WiFi.

Review 46:I lived the fact that this hotel was right on Lake Garda - and the room was huge! Exceedingly friendly staff who all spoke perfect Enlglish (and many more languages too). Hotel is perfectly situated near the center of town, and just a 5 minute walk to the water taxis and all the restaurant. The room was very spacious, with a balcony facing Lake Garda- it also hasd swimming access to the Lake too. Overall an excellent experience that I would recommend to everyone.

Review 47:Zero comment; not applicable

Review 48:The hotel offers very spacious and comfortable accommodations, and is extremely well managed. Staff are unfailingly polite and speak multiple languages; service was impeccable during my stay. The city of Salo is a little jewel, well situated on the Lake for sightseeing as well as for entertainment.

Review 49:Lack of atmosphere

Review 50:Location

Review 51:tv in room far too small and rooms a little dated but still very good overall

Review 52:great location, great breakfast and excellent pool and gardens

Review 53:Everything was good.

Review 54:Beautiful location, best breakfast I ever had in a hotel and a super friendly staff!

Review 55:Beautiful views form large balcony, with ability to swim in the lake from the hotel.very convenient to Salo town centre and pleasant walk to beaches.

Review 56:Beautiful Location, friendly Staff

Review 57:Staff were really helpful. Lovely decor, very comfortable rooms. Breakfast was wonderful.

Review 58:Everything was very ok.

Review 59:The lovely view and the location. Close to the center and very quiet.

Review 60:Views were amazing.

Review 61:Location, groom size and terrace.

Review 62:wifi reception in room was not super

Review 63:view close to center

Review 64:Everything, being close to town well within walking distance, with super choice of eating and shopping, ferry

Review 65:Mosquitos

Review 66:Everything location is great plenty of food choice and lovely promenade to walk along perfect in every way.

Review 67:Location Lake view Quit Perfect breakfast Swimming pool and possibility to swim in the lake

Review 68:Could improve the restaurant offering lunch time

Review 69:Location Room Garden pool area.

Review 70:Only quibble, no early morning coffee or croissant despite request to reception

Review 71:Location Rooms, comfortable and clean Breakfast and staff

Review 72:Bus service was shocking, waited 45 minutes for a bus in the week to go to Riva and waited from 07:55 to 09:45 for the 08:07, 08:27 and 09:27 (027 line) on the 19 June to go to Desenzano.

Review 73:Salo really nice place to stay, many options to visit other places without a car.

Review 74:Couldn't be closer to the Lake! Fabulous setting for both the Lake and the port side. The swimming pool is directly next to the Lake, bar service to your sun lounger, stunning views. If your are travelling by car, which I did, make sure you reserve a parking space as they are limited.

Review 75:Having stated when I booked that Gluten free food was required at breakfast, I was annoyed to find that there was no provision made. On request scrambled egg was provided but that was about it. In general the Breakfasts let this hotel down and are disappointing with the lack of choice. This is probably down to cost cutting, perhaps a few extra Euros on the night rate would allow the breakfasts to come into line with other hotels and make this good hotel an excellent one.

Review 76:Excellent quiet location a short walk from the centre of Salo. This was a return visit for us having previously stayed here in 2011. Large comfortable rooms with balconies. overlooking the lake. Very good value for money.

Review 77:Our navigationsystem didn't find the hotel and when it was dark it was wery difficult to find it.

Review 78:Hotel location was good, staff was nice and greakfast was really good and diverse. Our room was big and the wiew to the lake was beautiful.

Review 79:Sauna I did not try, but cause I am finnish male.... doubt would that be even usable, to me

Review 80:All, hotel location from Salo downtown is excellent, room was enough for tree, view was excellent directly to Lago di Garda and staff was helpful, breakfast enough and breakfast rooms was nice ! If I ever come again, same hotel and city !

Review 81:Looked a bit tired. External maintenance lacking. Internally carpets in corridors showed signs of water discolouration. Some refurbishement needed.

Review 82:Good location, good facilities. In spite of comments opposite the rooms themselves were excellent and the views through huge picture windows were very good

Review 83:If we are the guests who paid so much to be there, please let us to sit where we want at the breakfast.

Review 84:It is closed to the Lake Garda, we could see the lake from our terrace.

Review 85:The staff is really unfriendly , especially the ladies who work there , they should be fired for their incompetence to work in the hospitalty business , they are also not willing to help out with problems like the AC was not working , for four days , and the only thing she could say is : just open the window , it is a big pity that this beautiful hotel will loose it all due to a very bad staff and management.

Review 86:The hotel is very nice ,perfect location , spacious rooms , good beds and good view, all is good except for the staff

Review 87:Not easy to find the place by car since the street facing side looks like an office building.

Review 88:If I were to live in a hotel, it would be this one. Everything in this place is perfect - at least for me. The hotel interior may look a little old fashioned (some might say old) but everything is in place and in perfect condition. To me, it feels like being in an early 70's movie with (then) modern design. All rooms have a big balcony with beautiful views on the lake. Free wifi works everywhere and the bathroom is big and has everything. Extensive breakfast is served on the terrace with staff happy to get you anything. Great garden with a pool and access to the lake. Perfect!

Review 89:We loved our 7 days at this hotel in salo. The staff went out of their way to make us comfortable . Erica, Lavinia , Carla and Francesco were terrific. It was great staying in a hotel with a pool as it was very hot. The room we stayed in was very big and very clean. Would stay here again and would recommend .

Review 90:We couldn't have diner in the hotel because there was a group of a company in the hotel.

Review 91:Near the centre of Salo, excellent large rooms, every room has lake view and a nice garden.

Review 92:Very ordinary breakfast. Policy of charging extra whenever possible,on top of what are only just acceptable prices - towels and parking, for example.

Review 93:Beautiful surroundings, right on the lakeside. Trees provide shadebeside the pool. Enormous rooms, with a balcony overlooking the Lake.Short stroll along the promenade into the town. Easy access to the mainlakeside road, for drives out. Pleasant staff.

Review 94:The pool and pool area, even though we didn't have the weather to use it I dont think I would of even if it had been warm enough!

Review 95:Location and cleanliness

Review 96:Excellent lakeside location with gardens offering plenty of shade. Extremely large bedroom, breakfast buffet has plenty of choice and evening dinner most enjoyable. Staff very helpful. Our third visit to Hotel Salo du Parc and we are sure to be returning!

Review 97:Air conditioning unable to cope with high temperatures.Rooms although large in need of big facelift.

Review 98:Location,gardens and restaurant. Potential to be an excellent hotel but bedrooms in need of modernisation.

Review 99:It is sad to see such a lovely hotel looking so tired and dated. The common areas plus the outside of the building could really do with a paint, an upgrade and general maintenance.

Review 100:Overall we really enjoyed our stay at Hotel Salo du Parc. The room was very spacious and clean with an amazing view of the lake and hotel gardens. It was so lovely to have the choice of swimming in the lake directly from the hotel plus a lovely swimming pool. The staff at meal times were very friendly and pleasant.

Review 101:It was extremely hot whilst we were there - challenge for the air-conditioning system!

Review 102:We liked the location right on the side of Lake Garda and had the most magnificient view from our room on the fifth floor. The garden had plenty of loungers and there was a snack/bar service available all day. The room was very large with an excellent modern bathroom - bedroom area had seventies style furniture but well-maintained and fine by us. Breakfast selection very good - dinner very good value with plenty of choice. Staff were friendly, helpful and cheerful. Some parking on site or opposite at a daily rate. We would certainly go back.

Review 103:It needed decorating, the outside was very grubby and unappealing.

Review 104:the hotel was an easy walk to the shops, restaurants and lake side. It was lovely to have a large lake side room with balcony.

Review 105:I would have liked to see a dinner menu in in the bar area, the dinnermenu was not on public show and only limited items were available to eatin the bar. The dinner menu was fixed price per person (30 euros whichwas reduced to 25 euros per person = 75 euros + drinks = approx 100euros per day), it was too expensive if you only want a pasta or singledish not a 3 course meal, we ate out in town every night because of thisand for 50 to 60 euros inc drinks etc. Also, everything in the bar etcis added to your bill at the end, there is no real indication of costand it is easy to run away with a large bill without knowing, it is acashless hotel and not possible to pay as you go which is a little un-nerving as I like to know exactly where I am with my bills andexpenditure, we therefore did as most others did and bought everythingoutside the hotel - drinks and food etc. These points need to be sortedout in my opinion and would possibly stop us from a return visit infuture to this hotel.

Review 106:The Staff were friendly and helpful when asked for information. The roomwe had (family room 1dbl. 1 sngl.) was on 3rd floor with a large balconyand overlooking the lake, it was air conditioned and worked well all thetime. Fantastic views and is in a quiet location, the room was largewith bathroom, inc. Toilet, 2 showers over the bath that had much waterflow and plenty of hot water, ther bathroom included a bidet and largebright wash basin with full wall mirror. Beds were comfortable (pillowsa bit hard but no problem) and large, it was cleaned early every morningand the cleaning was total, floors etc. It is a great hotel with buffetbreakfast which has so much choice and plenty of everything, neverrunning out. Helpful waiters/waitresses always around to assist andserve. This is a splendid hotel, good location, clean swimming pool andon the edge of Garda Lake. We will be back for many years to come. Also,5 mins walk into Salo town centre.

Review 107:Concierge staff varied. No porter for bags - only one person on the deskat a time, and, they varied from hostile to warm. As I was trying tospeak Italian it was not helpful to be met with unsmiling and impatientstaff. But if the right person was on then no problems.

Review 108:Excellent location. They upgraded my room to a top floor very spacioussuite with terrace. Cleaning and breakfast staff very helpful. Goodchoice at breakfast; I didn't use restaurant as I like to eat out. But Iunderstand choice was limited and had to be ordered in advance. Butgreat choice of restaurants in immediate area.

Review 109:Paying 10 Euros per night for a very tight car parking space.Information about facilities not obvious eg no folder in room withdetails as per usual hotel visits.

Review 110:Superb location and friendly staff.

Review 111:excellent location at the lake and only some minutes away from the center of the village. free WIFI in the hotel and even outside in the garden and at the swimming pool no noise at all so a very relaxing environment. Very friendly staff. Safe parking in front of the hotel.

Review 112:From the road the hotel looks like a cross between a multi-storey carpark and a prizon block. It took us 45 minutes to locate it since thehotel signs were parallel and close to the walls and almostimpossible to pick up from the seat of a car with an irate Italiandriver behind you.In contrast the rear of the hotel - stretching down to the lake - was delightful.

Review 113:The location is fantaastic. The staff are probably the most friendly wehave encountered in may years of using this class of hotel. BarmanFrancesco and lovely waitress Lydia were exceptional. The set dinner menu (and the food) was so good that there was no point in heading up town to find a restaurant.

Review 114:In the hotel the wi fi is not that good and as a couple you must verifybefore making reservation that the meter in the bed is double and nottwo single beds connected. After checking out of the hotel I spoke tothe lady in the front desk telling her that two things I just motionedand I really was shocked of her response, she started raising her voice(shouting I can say) she was rood and not nice at all!!! That reallyleft me with bad theist of that place! Bottom line for the price thehotel location and the room there its a very good deal. Very pretty view

Review 115:Noting major .

Review 116:I like the location as well the room and the bathroom are spicy .

Review 117:Outstanding view from our balcony, Excellent and friendly service from the staff. We will certainly stay again when visiting Lake Garda.

Review 118:place looks bad, the worst design i have ever seen in a hotel. room are also ugly.

Review 119:good lake view, all rooms have a lake view

Review 120:very old building

Review 121:big rooms

Review 122:Debiting my card for the full amount at the time of booking.

Review 123:Everything, - the location, the rooms, the food, the view.

Review 124:Breakfast was not explained and there is no welcoming info or information in the rooms. No tea/coffee facility

Review 125:Great location

Review 126:Beautiful location, rooms are big and modern-elegant. The triple room had a big terrace on the top floor with wonderful views.
