Ranveli Beach Resort sells fast on our site. Located next to Mt. Lavina Beach, Ranveli Beach Resort is a 5-minute drive from Odel Mt. Lavina Shopping Centre. It offers free parking, a restaurant and rooms with an en suite bathroom.

Review 1：The rooms although clean are a bit dated and in need of a refurbishment but if you can look beyond this, there a lot of other pluses in choosing to stay here

Review 2：It's a home away from home. Somewhat of a Best Marigold Hotel with plenty of long termers. Good and kind staff, a great pool and garden and 1 minutes walk from the beach. It's a good alternative to being based in Colombo. A local train station will get you down to Galle abs the coast or into Colombo Fort. Oh, and the Chef Charlie makes delicious food

Review 3：The room standard did not live up to our expectation considering the price they ask for. The room and the bathroom were a bit shabby and had a bad smell.

Review 7：I write this message to owner of this hotel. Immediately change your management. Very bad impression. I wanted to prepare "Teraflu" (medication comes with powder form) and I asked 2-3 cups of hot water. They refused to give hot water along. Then I asked tea pot with hot water as they offered. Next day I saw that they have charged just 270 Rs for tea... nothing. I gave 500 Rs tips and left the place.

Review 8：Poor maintained place. NOT very hygienic and clean specially the toilets, wardrobes. Overall very old wornout unmaitained place.

Review 10：The place is a bit run down, and in my opinion the price they are charging is a little bit too much. Rooms are old, door to the bathroom was falling apart.

Review 12：Trains passing every 5mins at 5m distance, making the building trembling. Over 40y old hotel, needs substantial renovations. It definitively does not worth the money, not even if they pay me i won't go back there. Coffee is a drama. Towels too. Beds are awful. Staff with one exception is not helpful, and totally indifferent. The worst is that the pics the property posts do not represent reality. It is a sad place, in total decadence. Should not be called an hotel after all. No beach as shown in the pics, suggesting one can have access to= these pics are taken elsewhere) is around the hotel. At the end of the tiny swimming pool (pics show it much much larger than reality) a wall separates the property from the train rails, with warning sign on. Never never again i will not even pass close to this place.

Review 14：So so dirty, there was stains everywhere, the bathroom was filled withdead insects, that were definitely not there from the day before. Thesmell was overwhelmingly disgusting, the whole night people went in andout the rooms, even knocking on our door twice. We could not catch anysleep. The breakfast in the morning was disgusting, had to spit out thefruits because they had such a weird taste. Definitely completelyoverprced. Wifi only works in the lobby. Never stay here

Review 17：The worst hotel we ever been. We stayed 25minutes and we had to leave. The location is the worst, very poor area, railway just passing next to the property. Towel and sheets were dirty, the whole room was in a very bad condition. The photos does not match with the reality! This hotel shoud not be on this website!

Review 19：well when i was booking this resort i was bit worried as ratings was not that great. but when i stayed three nights there it changed everything. the staffs were great. the reception guy was great. in overall everything was great. the only thing i had problem is wifi dont work in rooms. overall i recommend to stay. piece of advice the food is little bit expensive.

Review 20：Luxury things not expected but can provide basic things for the money you get. Bed tea not provided at time. Dinner serve as in "Bakki kade" small cup of rice in a plate with a salad leave. Bascket of chicken drumstick- 2 out of 5 not properly fried unable to eat.(showed to the waiter) finaly gave big bill. Small room given as a family room with a "polu kada watena adak ekka".

Review 28：The room I was in the first night was unacceptable. Just a trickle of water, things falling apart, smelly mattress, tread bear bottom sheet, no top sheet. The trains beep really loudly and woke me up early even though I had arrived into the country after a long trip only a few hours before.

Review 29：The staff are very friendly and good to chat to. They gave me a room upgrade for a decent price after a very bad experience in a "sub"-standard room the first night. The other room was fine.

Review 49：The hotel is just next to the railway. In the morning trains are so loud! Rooms are dark with hideous view outside (rooms with fans). On a second night our fan broke down and we had to change rooms. Breakfast are poor and too simple - always eggs. We had to ask for coffee or tea because no one proposed us. What is really strange that everywhere you can see informations like >don't to that< >that is forbidden< - I felt like a child in a school. Hotel is trying to pose as a budget hotel. But I have paid much less for better comfort and standard. For the same amount I had much better accommodation. This was the worst accommodation in Sri Lanka and far away from the cheapest.

Review 51：The air con was a bit temperamental - too fierce in one room and poor in another. Could do with new mattresses ideally, okay in one room but less good in another. Trains run close by, but not through the night thankfully and they aren't too frequent.

Review 55：Nobody said anything about the train line being metres from the resort. You can only get to the beach by going out the back gate and over the train lines. Shabby room, bathroom not good, breakfast only toast and egg, no other options, wifi doesn't reach the rooms. Manager not helpful. Tried to overcharge us.

Review 57：The bed kept falling apart. The AC was leaking, right on top of the bed. I informed the staff about the leakage, apparently they got it checked... But to no avail.I woke up the next day courtesy the gross leakage water. They offered to change my room... 3hours before I was to check out.

Review 61：I checked in at the Ranveli hotel. Only the lobby and reception looked like in the pictures. The first room they give us was extremely dirty, the door and dirty windows didnt close, the bed was dirty too and there was brorken furniture. There was no water in the tap. They gave us a second one but it was the same. Besides in the back of the hotel there is an old building full of trash and the railway is on the other side. We asked our oney back and they did but then they charged us the night on my credit card as if we didnt show up. I strongly recomend that no one stays there and Booking.com should remove it from the site.

Review 63：This is a terrible Hotel.Very close to the Railway Line.Trains passing every 15min or so. Very dirty Hotel, food was terrible, My wife found a piece of metal wire about 3 inch long in a dish.Waiter apologized but no reaction from the management. Air conditions work, but does not blow cold air. Fans only works on one speed. we had to change rooms due to faulty a/c.New room had a blocked shower drains. Curtains are dirty and mouldy, Management has no clue how to manage a Hotel apart from charging you for everything. To go to beach you have to cross over the railway line which can be very dangerous.Has a private Beach Area,but the Beach Area is very dirty, not being maintained very well.No privacy around pool area for sun bathers. Food and beverages are very expensive.They charged me 90 rupees for a cup of coffee. Be aware there is a 10%service charge on all items.DO NOT STAY THERE,U WILL REGRET. Do not fall for the fancy pictures advertised on the internet about this hotel.It was nothing like it. My wife and I stayed there from 30th June to 6th of July.
