Featuring direct beach access, this resort has a barbecue area overlooking the ocean. Each self-contained apartment includes a private balcony or patio. Many apartments also have stunning ocean views and outdoor furniture.
Beachfront Resort is located in Whitianga, overlooking Mercury Bay on the Coromandel Peninsula. It is only 5 minutes’ drive from Whitianga Airport, and the restaurants of Whitianga town centre.
All apartments have a kitchen with microwave and refrigerator. Each has a spacious seating area with flat-screen satellite TV. Free bodyboarding, kayaking and pétanque game equipment is included.
Guests can relax in the hot tub, or enjoy the sun in the beach-facing gardens, which feature outdoor seating. The tour desk can book scenic boat tours, as well as diving, snorkelling and fishing trips.
The main attractions of the Coromandel Peninsula, Cathedral Cove and Hot Water Beach, are a 30-minute drive away. The Lost Spring is only 0.9 miles away.

Review 11：The resort is far from any restaurant and did not offer any meal. I also would've changed the layout in the unit as we struggled to watch TV from the bed.

Review 13：We liked having a newly renovated downstairs unit where we stepped out onto the lawn which fronted the beach and had lovely views across the bay. As a self-catering unit everything was provided - large frig, microwave and stove top and barbecue in the well maintained garden which also had an outside spa. Our unit comprised a queen sized bed and 2 single beds in another room. We would highly recommend staying at the Beachfront Resort being the only accommodation in Whitianga situated on absolute beachfront.

Review 14：Overgrown or too low tree branches on the sidewalk to the common area and bar-b-que area. A small amount of trimming would make a huge difference.

Review 16：The bed was by far too soft & the fridge did not stop to make noise - does not help to get a good sleep. We had a cot for our baby. Rooms are ok 2 or 3 but too small for 4 people. Overall a little expensive for what it is, but this appreciaton may have to be considered into a local seasonnal context

Review 17：The staff and the location are very good. Paul and Kate are very friendly, helpful to change our booking dates. Different to other hotels that have the road in front, BFR is right on the beach wich obviously is very enjoyable with a little garden and bbq area.

Review 19：We stayed 3 nights in #8.. I have to say this looked to be the best room in the place. Breakfast watching the sun rise with the wall to wall glass windows that open riiiiiight the way up was just breath taking. I NEVER write reviews but have to say the service and location of this place was second to none. We have been staying in 5 star hotels the whole stay in NZ in this is and will continue to be the absolute most favorite. Couldn't be happier! Kate, you're the best.

Review 20：The owners had put a lot of thought into equipping the property. Good utensils and crockery in the kitchen. Although there are only 2 rings to cook on there is a microwave and (shared) gas barbecue The location is stunning. Excellent wifi.

Review 22：Looking from our upstairs balcony over the lawn, then the small sandhill to the beach was just magic. The moon glistened in the water and it was so easy to go swimming, walking and just generally enjoy being right on the beach. This was also a haven for young families with the downstairs units having outside tables to eat at, a trampoline and spa pool. The children were easily watched and soon made friends with the other children.

Review 24：The view on entering the room was stunning and truly a beachfront stay. Great swimming just at the end of the garden. Although a bit away from town centre no problem to walk or drive there. Free use of boogie boards and spades for hot water beach visit! Great location for visiting local walks cathedral cove although note the ferry to Mercury Bay is pedestrian only. Would stay again readily.

Review 28：A clean, tidy, well appointed motel with the luxury of being right on the beach. The spa pool was wonderful under the stars. We received a great welcome, and felt happy that we would be well catered for should we have needed anything. The unit was especially warm considering the time of year, and we didn't need to even have a heater on. Watched a fabulous sunrise from our upstairs balcony. Would definitely recommend for a weekend get-away.

We enjoyed sitting on the grass reading books with the beach a few metres away and testing the hot water tub when it got a little cooler in the afternoon. Great place to relax. Review 71：Unfortunately we expected another kind of accommodation. It reminded us more of a cabin or motel next to the beach but not a resort. If you read the word beachfront resort you have totally different picture in your mind, especially for that price. Our room was overpriced, no seaview, old interior and no resort feeling at all.

The property was great for our families, lots of stuff for the kids to do-trampoline, beach and beach toys, while the adults grilled dinner on the outside deck over looking the beach. We had a lovely view of the sea and slept to the sound of the waves.You went across the garden straight onto the beautiful sandy beach which you could walk along to the town or little ferry. Room (more of studio apartment with kitchen and spare room) was well appointed and equipped with everything you might possibly need. Great hosts who took a personal interest in our trip and comfort and who clearly have an eye for detail. The place was extremely clean and well maintained and the options available for enjoying the location (kayaks, BBQ, garden, spa, beach towels etc) as well as onsite laundry and stacks of information about the local area lend themselves to all sorts of breaks, both long and short and for families and couples/friends. Perfect location with views of and access right on to the beach. If in Whitianga or Mercury Bay we cannot recommend this enough.
