Reviews for Hotel Molendal

Review 1:Our room (top floor) was very disappointing. All the beauty of the impressive monument outdoors and of the general indoor spaces was 100% gone when opening the door of the room. Cheap, 80s style finish and furniture.

Review 2:Beautiful building, great location.

Review 3:It was a bit hot in the hotel, shower a bit cold

Review 4:I loved the location and decor, very pretty.Staff was really lovely and helpful.Breakfast was perfect for me.

Review 5:(some chairs in the breakfast room needed a freshen up with a wet towel... but I' sure that happens regularly.. it happens as regularly as customers spill things on them ;-) )

Review 6:The atmosphere in the hotel was really in line with its historic roots. Gorgeous hotel, friendly and very helpful staff, abundant breakfast... we booked our stay with a value deal, and that plus the additional cost of breakfast plus the parking fee, made the total price just right for what you were getting !

Review 7:There is no lift and we were on the 3rd floor. We knew that there was no lift but even so dragging cases up three flights of stairs was a challenge.

Review 8:Lovely helpful staff

Review 9:There is no lift, you have to carry suitcases yourself up the old stairs, the curtains let in too much light and parking us expensive.

Review 10:Beautiful place near centre, station and park. Old original building, green breakfast and friendly staff.

Review 11:Solid pillows, no tea/coffee making facilities in the room. No lft and no offers of help with bags. Manager was a bit frosty when breakfast was not booked.

Review 12:The building is beautiful and full of character. Nice location near the park and five minutes walk to town centre and station.

Review 13:Located perfectly between the centre of town and the park. Whatever you wanted could be walked to. Ideal for exploring the city. Beautiful edwardian location

Review 14:Everything was excellent....

Review 15:Lovely place to stay. We were please with everything. Owner was very accommodating and helpful explaining where to catch the bus and things to see and do in Arnhem. We would stay here again.

Review 16:Nothing! If you have trouble with stairs, ask for a first floor room.

Review 17:Quaint hotel in a historic home. Our hostess always had a breakfast table set so the 6 of us could eat together. We had a bright airy room on the 3rd floor with a door to the fire escape. Nice view of the city. Beautiful park a short walk away. Close to downtown restaurants.

Review 18:Beautiful building on a residential street yet close to Market, John Frost Bridge and train station. Comfortable, clean rooms. Very good breakfast. Friendly and helpful staff. Would stay here again.

Review 19:Nothing, everything was great. Only problem was on third floor and I have knee problems.

Review 20:Staff was very knowledgeable of things to do and very friendly.

Review 21:-Felt slightly dated, could do with a lick of paint -No kettle/hot drinks facilities

Review 22:-Excellent location -Comfortable bed -Interesting building - lots of period features -Room had roof beams, and a great balcony, with nice views

Review 23:Nothing.

Review 24:Charming staff. Located within 2 minutes stroll of the busy, pedestrianised town centre but also 2 minutes stroll (the other way) from the biggest park in Holland if not Europe. Quiet room (despite road frontage with some exuberant driving by the locals.) Would I stay again? Yes. Recommend it? Yes.

Review 25:Nothing really, may be the climbing of the stairs, but that comes with the historical character so I should not complain.

Review 26:Atmosphere and building. Cozy lounge area, well preserved monumental character of the building

Review 27:misguided renovation sometime in the 60's/70's resulted in funky and dated Shag carpeting. unfortunate but easy to fix.

Review 28:The hotel is perfect for rail travellers as it is located just a few minutes across the Arnhem station just below the Resting Place of 10,000 bikes. I can not resist the charm of Grand Hotels from the last centuries and this one did not disappoint. My room is one with the balcony overlooking the White Mansion in the park with appointments in fine wood and soft lighting. The wooden valet is a nice touch!

Review 29:Can,t remember anythıng we dıdn,t lıke.

Review 30:Really quaınt oldıe worldy Vılla turned ınto a Hotel keepıng all ıt,s charm - one of a few left stgandıng after the ww2 blıtz of the town. Good spacıous room ın old world style and nıce people to deal wıth. We would stay there ın ever that way agaın

Review 31:- would have liked tea and coffee making facilities - wifi was slow

Review 32:-Central location -Period building with lots of charm - Allowed to bring our dog

Review 33:Nothing to speak of .

Review 34:The staff here were friendly, accommodating and pro-active re local parking, restaurants, early checkout and traveling times to the airport. They even packed us a breakfast for the road as we had to depart early to make our flight. Really appreciative. The accommodation was clean and spacious , the beds comfortable and good hanging space for clothes. Tea and coffee facilities available. Bathrooms, while old, were in good order, clean and well functioning. A cosy breakfast room / bar downstairs with pretty streetscapes . A good breakfast buffet of pastries , cold meats , cheeses , yoghurts , breads , tea and coffee. Very quiet surroundings. Highly recommended.

Review 35:Sadly we felt our Deluxe double room (with balcony) , it lacked some personal touches, particularly taking into account the price and name tag of ‘’Deluxe room’’. As frequent travellers to nice hotels and Bed and breakfasts we were just a bit disappointed, we hoped maybe for a bath robe ? maybe slippers? possibly a coffee machine in the room ? Maybe even a couple of biscuits with the “very basic’’ tea making equipment ? Also the signal on the TV was not very good, quite grainy on several channels and nothing offered other than the basic TV, no movies for example. We felt the buffet breakfast was maybe missing Croissants and some other hearty type pastries, sadly other than boiled eggs it had no warm food or facility to toast bread. Plenty of other items but not to our liking totally.

Review 36:Just returned home from a night in this hotel. We very much liked the central location and the building it’s self is very grand with a lot of character. For us the plus points were nice staff, a big room, very clean and the hotel is really centrally located.

Review 37:I'd love either crunchy, fresh rolls or fresh croissants at breakfast (though the range of breads and crackers isn't bad). I could smell soap (or dryer sheet scent?) in the sheets. (Use less? Another rinse?)

Review 38:front desk dependability history charm great mattresses incredibly huge rooms, by european standards high ceilings / airiness good magazines (design / photo / architecture) view from the rooms sunny breakfast room balcony

Review 78:They really need to change their matrasses. Beds are too soft.

Review 79:Wonderful hotel. Large rooms and a wonderful breakfast.

Review 80:Excellent room with balcony, lovely continental breakfast, friendly homely feel and pleasant English speaking staff.

Review 81:- beds were too soft

Review 82:- excellent location - hotel with nice atmosphere - building with character

Review 83:Location

Review 84:The building is old and so well preserved; the whole atmosphere takes you back in time and in the same time provides you with all the current utilities!

Review 85:This hotel is very good. It has so much charm but doesn't disappoint in all other respects. We will always make an effort to visit Arnhem and stay here as the hotel it 'ticks all boxes' for us.

Review 86:- No restaurant at hotel - excellent small steakhouse only 200 yards up the road though. - Street parking only.

Review 87:- Spacious comfortable room, spotlessly clean. - Friendly and helpful staff with excellent English-speaking skills. - Decent-speed - and free! - wi-fi connection. - Nice quiet location whilst still convenient for town centre.

Review 88:Ontbijt ziet er allemaal prachtig uit en is verzorgd. Maar mis verse broodjes, croissantje en keuze bij een eitje ipv alleen hardgekookt.

Review 89:Locatie, heerlijke kamer, gastvrij. Komen er graag.

Review 90:No lift (elevator) + a steep staircase up to rooms. No problem for me,but might be a challenge for people who are elderly or disabled.

Review 91:Fabulous early-1900s house with tons of charm. Feels like a luxury bed-and-breakfast. Charming staff. Large + comfortable rooms with free wifi +flatscreen tv. Cosy lounge on ground floor for evening drinks +breakfast buffet. Walking distance (5 minutes) to old city of Arnhem forexcellent shopping + dining. I recommend "Le Petit Bistro" for dinner inthe old city.

Review 92:Parking is a trial as you have to hunt for street parking. But it is very close to the train station.

Review 93:It was elegant, comfortable, with great decor and ambience. Only a few minutes walk into town. Beautiful outlook. Interesting feel to the "house" - it felt like a house rather than a hotel. Very big rooms, tastefully decorated. Absolutely excellent breakfast; pleasant drinks area. Great value for money - I would thoroughly recommend it as a lovely boutique hotel. Staff were very helpful.

Review 94:no lift, steps are steep to bedrooms.

Review 95:The room was lovely. The staff were excellent. The breakfast wonderful. The park, Soothbeek ( spelling is mangled) which the hotel overlooks on one side is lovely to walk through.

Review 96:The hotel has Coco-Mat beds. Although this is a very high quality system I think with 5 (?) layers, it was much too soft for my taste.

Review 97:Very nice hotel in beautiful old building in the city center of Arnhem. Highly recommendable, much more charm to stay here than in any other hotel in the Arnhem city. Large rooms, very good Dutch breakfast and friendly staff. Wireless internet was included in the price.
