Reviews for Manava Suite Resort Tahiti
Review 1:We were most impressed by the hospitality of the staff, their efficiency and their willingness to help. Food was very good, and the view from the room (lagoon) with a view of Moor-ea quite taking.
Review 2:It would have been nice to have brewed coffee in the room or at least plenty of packets of Nescafé.
Review 3:We were only there for two nights so we didn't use the kitchen but would have if we were there longer. The rooms were nice and clean and we enjoyed our view from the balcony.
Review 4:When we arrived, we just collapsed on the bed. An hour or so later, we woke up in a puddle of sweat... the AC wasn't working. To their credit, the hotel upgraded us to a small suite. On the downside, even a room with a functioning AC unit set to maximum cooling is only moderately comfortable (and not comfortable when late afternoon sun is streaming through the windows). Don't expect American-style AC here. The ceiling fans are... purely decorative. Their highest speed is a lazy 40 rpm or so... almost slow enough for a housefly to land on the spinning blades. Complementary bottle of water (included with resort fee) was not provided one day. AC in the second room turned off by itself at one point. Amusing side note: SQUARE toilet bowl. Leave it to the French. Restaurant is quite extravagantly priced for what you get. Our favorite French cuisine moment: we arrived at the hotel restaurant shortly after it opened for dinner, asking for a table for 2. Only two tables were occupied at the time. "Do you have a reservation?" No, we didn't. Dramatic pause, and looking at (an imaginary?) list. "Ah. I have one table." By the time we finished our meal, there were still only two other tables occupied. Location is more than a little "on the outskirts." The area is mostly residential and small businesses. Only one other (not very good) restaurant within walking distance. $25 or so for a cab ride to Papeete marine terminal & market area.
Review 5:Front desk staff very pleasant and helpful. English fluency was not a problem, except with maintenance staff (we had an air conditioning problem in the room). Rooms are comfortable... would be considered a mid-tier American property (Ramada, Marriott, or similar). Pool and beachfront areas are nice.
Review 6:The lack of snorkelling gear to use was the only thing missing. Take some with you - some amazing fish about.
Review 7:Loved staying in the hotel. Our room with the lagoon view was amazing and well worth the extra money. The kitchenette was brilliant and meant we could make our own breakfast and lunch if we wanted too. We were there for 8 wonderful nights! The hotel was a lovely size too, not too busy.
Review 8:Had lunch in restaurant meat too tough to eat, hotel cancelled food receipt only on departure Room not available on arrival. Room next to lift shaft ... wanted quiet room before 18 hours flying time
Review 9:Nearness to airport for day room. Cheaper than other hotels for day room. Blue banana restaurant 5mins walk very good.
Review 10:Nothing
Review 11:Support of the front desk staff upon our early morning arrival. Accommodation and upgrade was unexpected but appreciated by ourselves and our friends.
Review 12:The entrance hall is not impressive and has no air condition
Review 13:The pool side is so impressive and beautiful. The garden is beautiful. The gift shop owner (Mr. Lee?) is very helpful, kind, and trust-worthy
Review 14:dirty bathroom, dirty room, dirty floors, run down, cockroach legs allover the floor, huge cockroach in the bathroom! poor restaurant menu, they run out of drink choices, mosquito infested during chikungunya outbreak.. absolutely nothing to do around
Review 15:No snorkelling as advertised No shuttle service Small pool No beach activities or beach as advertised Overly expensive food and service Out of the way for other activities Shower was very dark and drain was blocked up
Review 16:Airconditioned room
Review 17:The location is a huge problem because it is so remotely located!!! That would actually not be a problem if this facility had things to do there. The entire purpose of our trip was to be in or on that spectacular water! While the resort is on the water, it is not the crystal clear blue water we were searching for. There is no beach, no snorkeling, no jet skis, no kayaking & no scuba. That was all elsewhere (taxi). We arrived at 8:30 am the first day & used the pool, but otherwise, we left the resort to go somewhere else every single day. We never ate at the hotel restaurants because we thought the prices were too high, so we chose a unit with a kitchenette, but even the grocery prices are high. Also because of the remote location, we had to take taxis everywhere we went! The daily cost of $50-$60 round trip/day for transportation was just too much for us!!! The hotel offers daily shuttles ($40/rt for the 2 of us) into town & to the large supermarket, but it was never at a convenient time for us. Papeete has a small shopping district with very high prices for everything, so don't go expecting any bargains. The best thing we did was to buy bottles of liquor at the duty free shop on the way in. Drinks run $10-$15 each unless you drink the local beer for $5. Load your wallet because everything is expensive on this island!
Review 18:What a beautiful tropical resort! The rooms are spacious & well appointed; we had a kitchenette which we used every day! The infinity pool is beautiful (the largest on the island) & the grounds are well maintained. It just had a good vibe to it. We took advantage of the tour desk & did a half day tour of the island. The guide was very nice & extremely knowledgable. He even dropped us off in town afterwards. The front desk was always accommodating and very friendly. One day we took the ferry to Moorea & used the Moorea Pearl facilities for the day. It is a sister hotel of the Manava & for $80/pp (includes a wonderful lunch) you can use their facilities which has all the water sports (some for an extra fee).
Review 19:Location is far away from Papeete, transportation is very expensive, housekeeping was rude. I stayed in room 4204 on 11/01/2014 I asked very politely for an extra bath tower and said not. Food at the restaurant very expensive the breakfast is awful.
Review 20:Pool and room view is nice. Bed is comfy. There is a supermarket close to the hotel in the left side when going out of the lobby. There is a local place to eat type The Roulette or best known in US as food truck.family bussiness...ftesh and good food very inexpensive.
Review 21:There were very limited utensils etc for cooking so menus were simple!
Review 22:The staff were very obliging. The pool and the man made beach were beautiful. The unit itself was roomy and clean. We enjoyed shopping for groceries at the nearby "Weekender" and making our own meals. The baguettes are wonderful! We found the meal and bar costs very high, as are most things in Tahiti so even more reason to self cator.
Review 23:Dinning Options were bad. Only one restaurant and very expensive. $50 for two for Breakfast. Dinner was worse. Food was just OK.
Review 24:The Room was nice, the Pool Area was excellent.
Review 25:It is quite a distance from the centre of Papeete - it would be nicer if the hotel could provide a complimentary shuttle service. At the moment one has to pay about US$8 one way. Also to CarreFour to do shopping as the suites are self-catering.
Review 26:This hotel has the ambience of Polynesia - a smaller resort hotel. The rim flow pool is fabulous, surrounded by natural sea lagoon, with a perfect view of Moorea Island and amazing sunsets. Suites are spacious, simply furnished and comfortable. We had a delicious dinner in the restaurant.
Review 27:located on roadworks , staff english was poor. not so helpful with making arrangements and many things in location were closed but staff had no idea about this. or taxis .
Review 28:upgrade only cost 50 a night from standard to a suite pontoon with fishes..
Review 29:Excellent view of Moorea from the pool - a great setting! Great staff on reception, very efficient and friendly and they had an early check-in for us which was much appreciated. Great bar and lovely dinner outside in the evening. Great value stay and only 10 mins from the airport.
Review 30:Really not much choice for eating at lunch or dinner time (especially if vegetarian!). Water aerobics very annoying when trying to relax by pool. Should have more sunbeds for size of hotel.
Review 31:Views were lovely & perfect for relaxing holiday - suite very spacious and hotel well laid out - breakfast staff excellent, very friendly and welcoming
Review 32:food was expensive, like all in Tahiti.
Review 33:pool. bathroom facilities. patio, bed, light switches by the bed, breakfast buffet, staff was very pleasant & helpful.
Review 34:Milk in rooms would be great. And also, watch out on using the phone to make international calls - SO EXPENSIVE! And I recommend you get a suite with a kitchen, if you don't want to constantly eat out if you are staying for 4 nights or more.
Review 35:The pool is great, the reception staff are excellent, the room cleaning is superb, and the atmosphere is so relaxed. Free internet also!
Review 36:The food wasn't great, and I didn't like the music in the bar area, too loud
Review 37:The staff were very helpful, lovely comfortable room
Review 38:Best place
Review 39:Only 15 minutes by car from the AirPort this place is a good place to start an end your stay in Tahiti.
Review 40:This is a resort hotel designed for younger people. The facilities are good and the rooms well designed.
Review 41:Pool and view
Review 42:Grounds surrounding the resort - not pretty.
Review 43:The bed. The endless pool.
Review 44:It is a bit too far from the center of the town. The public transportation of the island is very poor.
Review 45:quite
Review 46:The location was not really near anything.
Review 47:The hotel was clean and the room was very nice. It had a small kitchen and a patio.
Review 48:excellent restaurant
Review 49:Great room and fantastic view
Review 50:would have liked access to a couple of more chairs for the patio
Review 51:friendly staff, swimming facility
Review 52:big room, island style furniture
Review 53:We couldn't walk along the beach but that is Tahiti for you
Review 54:Just about everything.
Review 55:Staff not very friendly or helpful. Food and drinks very expensive
Review 56:A beautiful pool and sandy beach.
Review 57:Staff was helpful and friendly. Beautiful setting. Air conditioned room, quite and peaceful.
Review 58:Some staff were rather off-hand.
Review 59:Location, convenience and comfort.
Review 60:No shower facility in garden suite room - only a handheld over the bath
Review 61:Proximity to airport; modern generally excellent facility
Review 62:No separate shower - only hand held over bath. So we had to move from Garden Suite to room overlooking the road, which was noisy.
Review 63:Very convenient location for overnight en route stay. Modern clean facility.
Review 64:The food!!! We asked for the American hot breakfast - it was truly theworst breakfast I have ever had. The bacon was hardly cooked andeverything was cold. The night prior to leaving, I had a caesar salad for dinner and was up a good part of the night being rather ill.
Review 65:We arrived very early in the morning and were allowed our room at thatunearthly hour, although we had to take an upgrade. The location isbeautiful with an 'endless' pool and our suite was lovely.
Review 66:Milk in rooms would be good to make coffee, most hotels in French Polynesia do not have milk in rooms though
Review 67:We were greeted by friendly staff, pool was very clean , rooms were spacious and clean. Breakfast is a bit much unless you are a big eater just do the continental breakfast and take it back to your room.. they will deliver it for free if you go and ask. They will also store your bags if you are checked out and have a tour, they also have a room you can use to change and shower after your tour, very nice touch!
Review 68:We stayed twice at this hotel at both ends of a cruise. First room was a garden room which we didn't enjoy. Split level and badly designed. Stairs creaked and reading light over the bed was broken. Breakfast was average and expensive with very slow service.
Review 69:At the end of our first stay we arranged with a very helpful lady at reception to get a sea view room at the end of our cruise. The room was excellent - single level with a beautiful view. Gave a completely different impression of the hotel.
Review 70:The access to the ocean. Had to worry about not to be ran by boats and the ocean had junk, like peases of concrete, tires and Ctr. So besides the room and one pool, there wasn't much there to do, not even a single show or relaxing music or some sort of entertainment.
Review 71:The size of the room and the kitchen. The staff was friendly and welcoming, but I found all polenisian people extremelly friendly. So I liked the people.
Review 72:Floors Filthy No view Internet useless Breakfast awful and expensive Beachfront collapsing into sea Worst location on the island apart from view of Mo'orea from beach front rooms only
Review 73:Only book beach front rooms if at all The majority of rooms have no view
Review 74:The restaurant was very expensive; the lighting in the room was a bit dim; there was an error in our bill which we picked up which was eventually rectified after we had returned home. The staff were very polite about this but couldn't resolve it while we were there.
Review 75:The pool and pontoon area had a great view across to Moorea; The hotel was quiet; The room was spacious.
Review 76:Hotel is located a way from the airport and Papeete, would have been nice to walk down the road to shops as we had half a day to wait for our flight.
Review 77:immaculate hotel with great service
Review 78:Some of the restaurant staff were rude especially after they messed up out dinner order.
Review 79:Front desk staff were very friendly and helpful Free wifi in the lobby, which was high speed. Beautiful setting on the seaside
Review 80:Prices were outrageous - 2 Maitais were 3600 Pacific Francs - at theexchange rate the hotel uses, that comes to $39, or $19.50 each.Continental breakfast was 4000 Pacific Francs - about $22 each. Niceplace but overpriced.
Review 81:The pool was very nice and the view was exceptional.
Review 82:The architects of the resort went overboard with creativity. Who on earth wants rough finely rippled tiles on the shower walls? Have they ever thought that showers get grime and need easy cleaning, instead of ever more scrubbing. I feel sorry for the chambermaids!
Review 83:The infinity pool was amazing. The gardens are nice and the corridors with lush tropical gardens are a beauty. Try to get a seaview studio, overlooking the infinity pool and bay with Moorea's silouhette in the haze and sunset just opposite the bay.
Review 84:Needed major updating, flooring Lack of amenities, trouble getting ice bucket, had to walk to other side of resort for ice, did not have wash cloths or hand towels Construction next to hotel, noise and eye sore for landscape
Review 85:Size of room Bed Bathroom Air conditioning blew directly on bed and kept shutting off
Review 86:- No beach, swimming at the sea is rather disappointing for Tahiti- The water in the pool is not changed often enough - Bathroom smells - No slippers and wardrobes in the room
Review 87:- Nice design,- The rooms are clean and new - Kitchenette with full equipment - Free parking
Review 88:Rooms were grubby.
Review 89:Liked the restaurant, Bar and pool. Staff also helpful.
Review 90:No milk in the rooms to have coffee/tea
Review 91:Good snorkelling off the pontoon. Ice machine was very handy.
Review 92:The water view from our room was spectacular.
Review 93:food good,but expensive.
Review 94:pool
Review 95:Expensive food and drinks .. but that's Tahiti for you !!
Review 96:The whole place was great
Review 97:Too pricey
Review 98:Nice comfotable room with a gtreat view
