Review 1：You don't get much wifi. The place looks garish- I don't know who decided their paint job but it screams tacky backpackers which I didn't actually feel it was at all. There wasn't much opportunity to socialise but we weren't there long.
Review 2：It was clean. Kitchen was quite good- there was a small one for us and another room and the two rooms had a separate lounge, balcony and bathroom from the rest of the hostel.
Review 3：Having a TV mounted on the other side of our room wall and a big gap under the door meant fellow inconsiderate guests drinking and talking and having the TV on till 12:30am ( till I got angry !) ruined the stay especially as I had a long drive the following day.

Review 6：The set up for the 4 man dorm is really nice, you share a kitchen between the 4 and a double room, this means you interact with the other people and gives a friendly environment, staff were really helpful and a team of 4 people come to clean your room thoroughly, supermarket is reasonably close too.

Review 9：The staff didn't seem very attentive and never seemed to be around when you needed them. The internet and use of computers isn't free and is quite expensive.
Review 10：The kitchen was well-facilitated and the communal area was cozy, as well as providing great views of the beach from the balcony. Good location, only 3 mins walking distance from the beach. Free beach towels are provided which is a bonus.

Review 12：Well organized and clean. It's divided in blocks, each block is like a complete apartment or house, with few rooms. All you need is there, so you feel like home, sharing it with few roommates.
Review 13：The bed unfortunately was really uncomfortable, it was a super soft spring bed and we both had trouble sleeping.
Review 14：The backpacker is very colorful and looks inviting. Our double room was neat and it was nice that the kitchen and bathroom were only shared with one twin bedroom (which at the time was not occupied).

Review 19：We were accommodated in the overflow house next door. It proved to be ideal - sharing a ground floor apartment with max 3 other people.
Review 20：1. Very small shower and toilet cubicles. 2. Tiny hand wash basins in toilet cubicle are useless. Prefer to not have them in lieu of normal or larger sized ones outside of the cubicle. 3. Typically for this kind of accommodation it has very old, well used, stained cups, glasses, plates, utensils, pots and pans. Even tea towels were old and dirty. Need to update these more regularly. I brought my own disposable plates, cups and utensils and used them instead. Should'a brought my own tea towels too.

Review 22：My room was next to the kitchen and it was very noisy. I also woke up because someone above my room was walking or something which I could hear very loud. 1 shower light was broken so we had to shower all in one shower, which of course takes a lot of time.
Review 23：It wasn't the place itself, it's just some people don't care about others and can be quite loud during the night and you can hear them walking on the rooms above you.
Review 24：Really great location! The twin room we stayed was super clean and in a "separate area", like a kitchenette, so it was great for me and my friend to cook and feel at home! The lady from reception (forgot to ask her name =( ) was awesome, so helpful!!! Great weekend =)
Review 25：The Chinese staff there can't speak very good English and they always send me wrong messages from the owner. And the single room was just next to dining room. So the night I stayed people were partying on the second floor and then playing games outside my room till 2am (even after I told them that they were too loud) which made me very hard to sleep.

Rooms are tiny, but that's ok cos you have room in the kitchen and lounge.
Review 76：The view from our room was of Mercury Bay. Astounding sunrise. The staff were enthusiastic experts , helping us with bus, tour, and future lodging details. We had spacious rooms and a well equipped kitchen.

Beds were really comfy and it was great to sit out and have breakfast looking out to sea. Kayaks for free, free wifi, loads of good advice from the staff. Review 95：There are 3 houses for the hostel - one for the larger (sleep 10) dormsand the others with double and twin rooms as well as dorms for 4people. &Quot;My" house had two floors and a kitchen on each floor-on my first night, I shared the apartment with another couple and onmy second night I had the whole area for myself, which was really nice.Kitchen and bathrooms were very clean and cleaned every day. There wasa tv and dvd player and you can get DVDs from the hostel office for adeposit - nice for spending a quiet night in or watching a movietogether with other backpackers. You also get beach towels and spadesfor hot water beach, as well as free Kayaks. Staff were very friendlyand helpful. Be aware that this is a bbh hostel as well as yhaassociated. The beach is really nice, though there are much nicer onesin the vicinity, which feel more lonely (take the ferry to ferrylanding and walk to the beaches).
