Reviews for Oshen Apartments Yeppoon
Review 1:the location of the TV was impractical and didnt offer either free WiFi or a DVD player for rainy days. Perhaps a microwave and a plate bowl and cutlery could be added to such a small room so people have the option of ordering in.
Review 2:the veiws
Review 3:Bed!! King (two singles pushed together) was rock hard & couch was soooo uncomfortable. For 3 bedroom place the living area is tiny with one Couch sitting 2.5 people.
Review 4:The view was amazing! Large balcony, convent to beach shops and great exercise climbing that hill
Review 5:There was nothing that I did not like about the place.
Review 6:The place was in walking distant to the beach & the main street. Secure parking was great. Loved the fact it had 2 bathrooms.
Review 7:Hard to get into. Corner spa bath and single vanity old fashioned and hard to get in and out. Air conditioner not big enough for job. Curtains needed as light wakes you at 4.30 am
Review 8:The view
Review 9:The outdoor area is very large and did not provide much shade. The outdoor area also gets dirty very quickly.
Review 10:We stayed in the 3 bedroom penthouse. The view was absolutely amazing! 3 large bedrooms and a second living area provided enough space for our family over the Christmas period. The outdoor area was enormous with plenty of comfortable seating with lots of space for kids to play. We liked the proximity to everything, walk to the beach and shops. The hill is very steep but we enjoyed the exercise.
Review 11:The pool needs to be heated or more wind break, the lounge was uncomfortable and the window over sink needs tinting.
Review 12:Friendly staff good location and clean
Review 13:Front office wasn't welcoming, cool initial impression. Pool was cold even on a 38deg day. Shower taps are awkward to operate, and the shower/bath entry is quite high to step over and too narrow. Lounge/dining/kitchen space is compact for 6 people to occupy. Not easy to dry clothes naturally.
Review 14:Modern style apartment and close to town and the beach. Good for a short stay.
Review 15:Soulless , no bar no restaurant, absolutely no feel good factor at all. In roon 7B carpet should be replaced.
Review 16:Location is good , room was ok but small, really nasty stain on carpet which when pointed out was told we know but can't get it out .
Review 17:The property is located upon a steep hill. We managed to still walk down and up with the pram with little trouble- you just have to put in a bit of effort.
Review 18:Stayed in the extra large one bedroom, ocean view apartment- was exactly as advertised- it was perfect for us. Great set up for families with small children. Everything you need at your fingertips: oven, cooktop, washing machine... We enjoyed the beautiful view and sea breeze on our balcony, lovely pool and just a short walk to the beach, restaurants and shops.
Review 19:At reception we were half interrogated. We travelled for a friends 21st and my sisters graduation celebration over the weekend. Went on a cruise to Keple all day Saturday. We're hardly at the room Obviously should have decided to prolong that birthday and celebration until after schoolies. (Which didn't start until the next week) I'm 21, not a partier. Could at least make me feel comfortable while interrogating.
Review 20:Location was magnificent Room size, spacious and comfortable.
Review 21:The lounge was not comfortable and there was a noise from pipes or something in the bedroom (cupboard) area which was annoying in the quiet of the night while trying to get to sleep. Also the height of the spa bath was dangerous to get in and out of the shower.
Review 22:The view and modern unit.
Review 23:I was not overly fond of the room. There was no where to sit except on the bed. Felt like i was in a box. Could not even sit anywhere for a coffee.
Review 24:The apartment was well presented and very clean.
Review 25:Great views, beautiful apartment with good facilities. The walk up the hill was not a problem and good if you need exercise. Would have stayed longer if we could. Comfortably housed 4 adults and 2 children in the 3bdrm apartment.
Review 26:Our room had an inside balcony which was fine however no air flow. We were offered an outside room with a balcony on arrival for additional $$$s
Review 27:The bed was very comfy
Review 28:The room was badly cleaned, dirty floors etc. After hours fees are much too expensive, $50.00 is bad enough but $110.00 is just greed. Car parks on level -1 are much too narrow and confined, I have a small vehicle but I was only able to access it through the rear hatch as I had parked close to the concrete wall and a large 4x4 had then blocked access to the drivers door. Have you ever heard of "Free wifi" this is the first time in my travels across Australia that I have had to pat $10.00 a gig.
Review 29:Good comfortable bed, great views.
Review 30:Window coverings let in alot of light so we had early mornings. Walking up hill is tough if out of condition.
Review 31:Found spectacular views of harbour and islands. Fully functional kitchen with equipment to be able to use it.
Review 32:What I really didn't like was leaving.
Review 33:I stayed in room 15 on the 1st floor and the view of the town and beach was absolutely lovely. The amenities were just right. The location was peaceful and tranquil. Definitely a must return accommodation.
Review 34:Bed way too soft/old. Time for a replacement.
Review 35:Well located and good to have lifts and underground parking, though the spaces are pretty tight. Wonderful views. Nice space.
Review 36:Car park small & tight for 4WD, better signage required to get out on reception level from lift, balcony a lot smaller than expected ok for over night stay
Review 37:Good spot helpful staff small bedroom but still had aircon! Hubby very happy there was FOXTEL. Well appointed unit & kitchen. Would recommend & stay again
Review 38:Whilst the apartments cannot change location make sure you are fit because the walk up the hill from town is very steep
Review 39:Nice clean comfortable apartments. Stayed in a One bedroom apartment with the ocean views that was excellent.
Review 40:Spa was inconveniently small. Could not use. Balcony was tiny and insufficient for entertaining. Foxtel channels insufficient for movies.
Review 41:View was good
Review 42:People smoking on balcony next door meant we had to keep door closed Talking lift, too much info... Door didn't work properly to close off bedroom from living area
Review 43:Nice view, good facilities
Review 44:The steep hill to access the property was far too steep to walk up and down everyday. While the spa was a nice option in the bathroom, having the shower combined and the shower screen covering most of the opening was very difficult to get in and out of. I actually slipped and fell and hurt myself quite badly trying to get out of the shower, I couldn't imagine an elderly person would find it easy.
Review 45:Lovely views. Room was modern with nice decor/furniture.
Review 46:The desk staff pior was very unhelpful as there was a mix up with what bedding configuration we needed and wanted to charge us for another night if we changed rooms the next night as we had myself my adult Daughter and my Grandson all in one bed They Said that we had only booked in as two adults but booking.com definitely had 2 Adults and 1 child and so did I on my confirmation email also my towel and the bath mat had a dirty mark on it that looked like dried blood spots so lucky I bought my own towel we did have an enjoyable time and it is a lovely establishment
Review 47:The location and the great views from the top of hill you can see the whole of Yeppoon
Review 48:The floors in our unit were very dirty, the mat in front of the lounge was filthy. The mugs hadnt been washed by the previous people and the dishwasher had a terrible smell. Management may have to check on the cleaning staff more often.
Review 49:The view.
Review 50:Paid extra for spa room but cheaper room rented 3 weeks earlier was bigger and had a better, bigger balcony with full ocean views. Would not pay extra for spa room next time.
Review 51:Location was fantastic
Review 52:Didnt have any interaction with staff at all .. checkin late .. no one cleaned the room next day .. check out key drop .. very hard bed. . On a steep slope to walk back
Review 53:Room was ok .. average .. not ocean facing .. spa was nice
Review 54:The couch in the lounge room was extremely uncomfortable. For a room to fit four people it needed two more comfortable couches.
Review 55:Excellent location and fabulous views. Clean and well appointed room.
Review 56:The apartment complex is on a very step hill so the check-in process, if arriving by car - is very difficult (hard to keep doors open against gravity, etc). Additionally the under-cover car parking is very tight.
Review 57:We loved that the apartment was new and very clean. It had everything needed for self catering. The A/C worked really well and the bed was comfortable. If staying again we would opt for a sea front room.
Review 58:booked a high unit and was put on the ground floor and stuck in a corner with a view into the hill and very little sea view. Worst of all told that that was all that was left as we booked late(7/9/15) so I don't know how early you have to book. Not happy at all
Review 59:Because of the unit position and staff attitude when booking in not a lot
Review 60:Location if walking to or from hotel a 85% incline, Hotel manager was not pleasant on arrival must of had a bad morning.
Review 61:The cleanliness of the unit, very in vogue
Review 62:Beautiful location, but walking up and down very steep hill with a stroller to main st a little difficult. Limited ventilation in bathroom, slight mouldy odour
Review 63:Staff were exceptional, extremely helpful. Beautiful views over Yeppoon and ocean
Review 64:For a 2 bed appt it was under furnished, 1 couch with 2 uncomfortable chairs and a deck table that would never take 4 chairs in your wildest dreams. The main bed spa bath/shower was lethal to get in and out of when wet,and I hate it when the most expensive places that you stay in make you pay for wifi thats free in cheap motels, get a life guys and leap into the 2000's even we oler folk want to use our note book on holiday!! At 275 per nite this was about the most expensive appt that we had in 35 nites and far from the best but is ok? just
Review 65:Good position right above the town however you have to be fit to walk home as its almost a cliff climb
Review 66:No beach side accommodation, instead it is at a top of a cliff. Open spa is a nice idea unless you have a room at the lower level, as people at the street can look into it. No free WiFi.
Review 67:Hotel room is quite new but still very basic only regarding the price I paid.
Review 68:While our stay was comfortable, I found the room overpriced for what we got. The flat screen TV was placed in a very awkward location - on the wall beside the cupboard, so it was on the wall perpendicular to the bed, not in front of it (which made watching the rugby awkward!). Also, the room was pretty small, as was the bathroom. Very few toiletries in the bathroom, though there were bath towels and mats. Apart from some wine glasses & tea/coffee making facilities, there weren't any cutlery & plates, which would have been useful, as my partner and I decided to have takeaway in the room one night. Finally, there was an awful draft (think howling & whistling ALL times of the day) and we were told by reception that the way to get rid of the noise was to open the sliding door a crack. It worked, but really? Didn't make the best impression on us, as we had been in the room 5 minutes.
Review 69:New and clean room & bathroom.
Review 70:We originally had a motel room, we had to change our rooms as this was the smallest hotel room I had ever seen. We upgraded to a one Bedroom which was excellent.
Review 71:Our one bedroom apartment overlooking sea and city.
Review 72:Our ocean view apartment with spa - just what we needed after 8 hours on the road, we were able to relax and cater for ourselves, apartment was very clean, and suited us very well. We stayed 2 nights and enjoyed walking along the beach and exploring the area.
Review 73:When you pay this much for a room, you shouldn't have to take your own general rubbish out, or wash the dishes
Review 74:The rooms are beautiful, and have everything you need
Review 75:Micro balcony - soo small All 1 Br apartments face South so get zero sun Have to listen to waster water from units above when in bed all night Very poor acoustic insulation all round. Reception not manned for Chech-in on Sunday. Was per allocated worst room in complex but could not change until Monday - told had to pay a $50 cleaning fee to change rooms
Review 76:Location New and clean except windows
Review 77:The couch was most uncomfortable and DO NOT take a 1st or 2nd floor apartment on the side or you will look at the dirty back yards of the building in front
Review 78:On top of a small mountain so fantastic view on third floor. Modern, trendy everything brand new,
Review 79:Some entrance doors to apartments were emitting whistling sounds that lasted for hours. Nobody to report to as staff leave the premises after 5:00 pm! Also vehicle entrance from Hill Street is an accident waiting to happen; be extra careful.
Review 80:Uninterrupted ocean views and to Keppel Island, and coastal.
Review 81:Parking was difficult because of the number of very large suv's & utility trucks & relatively small parking spaces. We found the couches uncomfortable to sit in & there were few or no instructions on using appliances. We also found the washer/dryer very slow & the extreme drying heat shrank our cotton cloths.
Review 82:It was generally well presented with easy access from our car.
Review 83:The walk back up the hill from town. This would have to be the steepest hill I have ever walked. If you have a vehicle this would have made things very easy as parking facilities were great.
Review 84:I was upgraded when I had problems with the air-conditioning unit in my room waking me up with horrible noises. Manager Ann-Marie was very helpful in providing another room which was an upgrade from my original room.
Review 85:We really liked the fact that even though we had booked through the web site, when we arrived the room was exactly what was advertised with a wonderful view of the ocean.
Review 86:The site appeared to be misleading. We thought we had booked into a hotel room with a veranda. However, upon arrival we couldn't find the key safe. We found our room but it was just that...a room with ensuite. It was lucky to have .5 mtr around the bed. The sliding glass doors led you to a 1mt x 1.5mt area with a huge concrete curved wall. The table and chairs area was so small you weren't able to stretch your legs. I could only say, thank god we weren't looking to stay more than one night. I pity any overseas visitors who may be mislead into booking this room for a period of time. absolutely disgusting.
Review 87:The bed was comfortable. The room was clean accept the large stain on the floor as you walk into the room. The shower was clean.
Review 88:First night the tiles outside were wet, they had no rain and they were so slippery that my partner slipped over. Told reception the next day and the two on were so rude and not interested at all. Theh blamed the rain but there was none. They had washed them and not dried them. Very poor. The pool is in a stupid spot gets very little sun. Will stay at the echelon next time. I do not recomend these at all.
Review 89:Room and view were amazing.
Review 90:I opted for a "motel" room, i got the second bedroom of a 2 room apartment, no wine glasses, 1.5 cups of coffee per day and the office hour were differnt to those listed in the compendium.
Review 91:Building was beautiful.
Review 92:dirty lamp shades see all the dead bugs in them, study nook has no light above it or desk lamp waste of a cnr at nite as it's too dark. Cleaner had not done there job properly there was a bag of open use ice in the freezer that smelt like seafood and dirty tray left in the oven. Broken TV cabinet door had not been reported to reception by cleaners other then these minor problems it was a great place to stay
Review 93:Lge balcony, views of city and ocean, spa bath, central to everything
Review 94:I booked an extra large apartment with ocean views. The apartment was tiny, very tiny. No tv in bedroom, not enough tea coffee sugar one soap, one face washer, 2 towels. Having paid the extra for a better room i expected a few extras but was disapointed, 3 star motels are better equiped. The location was great, views were great and the bed was really comfortable however when we put the aircon on, it smelt so bad we had to turn it off and open sliding door to get rid of the smell, it was blowing a gale and cold!
Review 95:A little noisy, hearing next door's shower and toilet flushing. Tolerable but for a newish building probably should be quieter. It was expensive for what it was.
Review 96:The apartments were nice, lovely view.
Review 97:I don't understand the attraction of a spa bath in a region where everyone is asked to conserve water! One piece of soap between two people for four days seemed a bit frugal! A sharp knife in the kitchen would help with the food preparation.
Review 98:Very clean and well presented. We arrived after hours, and the instructions for collecting the key were clear. We were staying four nights and had booked a hotel room. The recommendation to upgrade to an apartment for any extra $20 per night was good advice. Our room looked over Yeppoon to Rosslyn Bay. Staff were very helpful with regard to tours and attractions. 500Mb of free internet was enough to get us through our emails but not much more.
Review 99:The package we paid for was 2 adults and 1 child 4 or under. Our room had 1 king bed and nothing for my 4 year old grandson. On inquiring about a bed for him we were informed that children in these age groups usually slept with their parents and if we wanted something it would be $25 extra per night. So we had to buy linen and set up a bed on the sofa for hom for the 4 days.
Review 100:Room was nicely furnished. Bed was a king which was great. Shower was huge.
Review 101:Disappointed the bed was 2 singles pushed together. No water pressure in the shower. Beautiful balcony with a budget table and chair set. 1 towel per person was a little bit budget.
Review 102:Just that they handed a printout on arrival - if I lost the key $10 if I lost it and had to be let in 50$ etc also 2 cups a spoon which must be washed before I left - unwelcome feeling
Review 103:Brand new so all pristine
Review 104:Only thing they could improve on is the spa jets should be cleaned more regularly as I ran a test bath and there was a lot of built up hair and dead skin.
Review 105:We booked the Deluxe Hotel Room with Ocean View for our anniversary, it was amazing! The spa bath had a big glass screen so you over looked the room (handy if you want to watch tv in the bath.) It was perfect distance to James St where the restaurants, cafes and shops were. We had a wonderful stay, thank you!
Review 106:We found the rooms to be clean , but felt clinical and sterile . I could not find a comfortable seat in the room to sit and watch tv , or read a book . It was well equipped but did not feel homely .
Review 107:Location was good
Review 108:We paid an extra $100 for an ocean view. We were given a room on the ground floor with a restricted view of the ocean directly across the road. No panoramic view that we thought we would receive for almost $300 a night. It felt like we were staying in a box. No tissues, no shower gel, no moisturiser, only one wash cloth between two people, one cake of soap to share between hand basin and shower. Shampoo and conditioner only. Will never book again.
Review 109:Large room but that's about it. Allocated ground floor. Not happy.
Review 110:Didn't like being downwind from a smoking guest, we couldn't make full use of the great balcony with the constant smell of cigarettes.
Review 111:Loved the view, the facilities and the location.
Review 112:Just a small thing but check-out is at 10am and they mean it. We were out the door by 10am but later found I had a phone message at 9:50am letting me know the cleaners were waiting to clean the room.
Review 113:Amazing panoramic views both up and down the coast and out to the islands. Well worth paying extra for. Well equipped room, though we didn't really stay long enough to do any cooking so can't comment on the kitchen. Foxtel with pretty good selection of channels for relaxation time.
Review 114:a few small flies in the shower daily, but just had to wash them away
Review 115:the bed was extremely comfortable, quiet location but with sea views, everything was good
Review 116:Location gives great views over bay and town, and out to islands. Accommodation was excellent - I had a one bedroom premium apartment on top floor (thanks to upgrade from booking.com!)
Review 117:The young lady on the front desk was very helpful, the older lady very much a 'soar puss' didn't make you feel welcome at all!!! and the look we got, well that was!!! Also catering, not even a one day amenities, tea coffee, saying they only do a starter pack!! we were only there for 3 night not going to by tea coffee for 2 nights. Hope they don't charge to owners catering for the full period!
Review 118:Location and view were great.
Review 119:Supposed to be NON SMOKING, however the room beside us constantly smoked which blew straight into our balcony and room. Very disappointing.
Review 120:Location. Walking distance to Main Street and Beach.
Review 121:a little disapointed with size of balcony although I could still enjoy the view it was a bit small
Review 122:Room and views were excellent. Particularly liked the washer dryer facility.
Review 123:I was disappointed to find that the king bed was two single beds joined together which was not ideal staying as a couple.
Review 124:Great location and wonderful views of the town and sea. Washing machine, dishwasher and airy lounge and kitchen area. Spa was great. Short walking distance to the town.
Review 125:Room was very small. Very few facilities in the room. Air conditioning was very loud. The whole experience was ruined by the rude member of staff who checked us in. We arrived late and hadn't contacted the apartments to say we would be late. I did however apologise a dozen times but received the death stare in return. There is no need for such rude customer service. As a result I would never stay here again.
Review 126:Great location, fab view from the room.
Review 127:The lighting was quiet dim Could do with brighter lights or more lamps in room as found we had to take the bed side lamps into the living area
Review 128:Very much liked the value for money. A great view and best bath tub
Review 129:We stayed in the disabled unit, room 22. My hubby had a massive stroke which has left him with a long road to recovery and the stay in this unit had everything we could of hopes for.... plus the decor was lovely.... definitely be returning... shelly
Review 130:I didn't like the fact that we were only given 1 teatowel and 2 dishwasher tablets for a 7 day stay. We had to buy more dishwashing tablets.
Review 131:The apartment itself was lovely. Very clean and the views from our apartment were magnificent.
Review 132:The pool was very small but that didn't affect our stay.
Review 133:Really beautiful apartment great sea views and close to shops and beach. The spa bath was welcoming sight after a long drive and very relaxing.
Review 134:Managers' unfriendly attitude Paying $5 each to use a pool towel
Review 135:Layout Views Good quality fittings Young receptionist's friendly attitude
Review 136:Having to upgrade as we thought having a patio would be looking at the beach, also had to put towel down to stop whistling from gap in door
Review 137:Ocean view close to town
Review 138:The 3 bedroom apartment slept 6 however the lounge was only a 3 seater so seating was less than adequate for our family. Also felt there were a few kitchen items that should be standard in a unit - ie no tongs, and paper towel in the kitchen area.
Review 139:,The lay out was good with great views and good amenities.
Review 140:Lovely leather lounge is not designed for just sitting back and relaxing. Needed some head rests.
Review 141:New facilities with excellent view over Yeppoon and the bay. Undercover parking to keep the car cool, ready for the next adventure out touring.
Review 142:TV mounted on side wall which very difficult to watch, Flickering bathroom lights but they were getting fixed, no chair to sit in to do computer work. It was classed as a hotel room and I would expect that a hotel room would cater for basic business use. Very small room but that was ok if you were only going to sleep in the room and no need to use a computer etc.
Review 143:Good location and friendly staff
