Reviews for Alexandra Lodge

Review 1:The air conditioner in room was noisy and having other guests take off with communal kitchen supplies was annoying.

Review 2:Good location and clean and tidy. Staff were friendly. Good place to stay if you want to cook/make own meals - kitchen facilities were good.

Review 3:The photos are very old, the carpet was dirty and the paint was peeling! The showerhead was falling down, had to hold it. The room has no window.

Review 4:Linen and bathroom were clean, air con fine.

Review 5:The remote check-in didn't really work, as there was no answer at the number listed. Nellie sorted it out for me, though.

Review 6:The location was so convenient to the hospital where my husband was having surgery...right across the street. The kitchen facilities were nice and the breakfast items provided were more than adequate. Nellie was there when I arrived and was so helpful, which I really appreciated.

Review 7:Whole villa smelt strongly of disinfectant on arrival (appeared previous guest may have vomited in garden and a bedroom). Need an exhaust fan in bathroom. Small, simple changes like a dishwasher and more substantial, modern furniture (lounge, dining suite) in dining/living area would easily boost this from very good to spectacular.

Review 8:Great value for size of villa, good location - handy to town, food, sights etc out of the traffic - nice quiet location, very good sized rooms and kitchen.

Review 9:I think it was quite pricey for the place (the room), definitely not worth $1100. Also could've been a little bit more tidy. Carpets were stained and bathrooms weren't cleaned when the room was made up.

Review 10:It was close to the hospital we were working at, very quiet and it was nice that they provided breakfast and washing facilities.

Review 11:No staff on site, alarm went off in the middle of the night and woke us up! There was something scratching our bedroom door from outside (a lizzard or some other animal not sure?!)

Review 12:It was a large room

Review 13:Double room, double bed mattress very hard and uncomfortable. Go for a King Room.

Review 14:Clean and tidy, value for money, friendly staff. On site parking and outdoor area relaxing. Ample breakfast supplied, spacious shared kitchen and lounge area. Easy access key system. King room, comfortable large bed, spacious and self contained. Quiet accommodation, low to nil road noise.

Review 15:while there I had 2 falls one due to the uneven ground and poor lighting at the back entrance that was fri night. fell in bathroom sat morning due to mat slipping out from under me how ever injuries where done more fri night. shower head was broken in my room so was not able to have a decent shower and could not tighten the head so that I was able to have one

Review 16:location

Review 17:We didn't have own car in use so location was not the best possible to reach by foot and with big backpack.

Review 18:Alexandra Lodge was clean and peaceful place to stay. Room was clean and wifi really good. There were also breakfast supplies in free use. We booked extra night 'cause we liked the place so much.

Review 19:The unusual booking system which did not work. Message left asking for assistance never returned. Paint peeling off the walls. Shower rose which didn't work. Air conditioning compressor under the floor which screamed all night

Review 20:There was no window in the room and when we put the air-conditioner on it added a sickly sweetness to the air.

Review 21:It was unusual to see no-one during our stay. The kitchen was good and the food left was plenty. We noticed that the kitchen was cleaned daily. The room contained everything we needed.

Review 22:The accommodation is actually an old house concerted into rooms with bathrooms. Very noisey, very thin walls and only a push button lock on door to apartment. I was a lone female & really expected better security

Review 23:cobwebs on windows, dirt under mats, no instructions on how to operate microwave, leaking taps on bathroom handbasin., bloodstains on bed cover, no gause on windows or doors,

Review 24:closeness to hospital

Review 25:You need to remember this is just a house, so it's just a room and bathroom. Therefore noise wise you can hear the people in other rooms.

Review 26:No staff, but checkin was easy. Location if good especially if you had to visit the hospital

Review 27:Very helpful and friendly on the phone. Very easy place to arrive to, even late at night. We found the communal lodge space lovely and the breakfast was great.

Review 28:- You can only pay by credit card as there is no reception desk, - I received a call at 2.30pm on the day of check in wanting my updated credit card details, yet with no explaination as to why and no prior communication. I would have appreciated a call in the days prior and also an explaination, especially considering the fact that I had booked the room months prior, - I was there for three nights and my room was never serviced. I came across the cleaner on the afternoon of my final day and she asked me if I wanted fresh towels...despite there being a sign in the bathroom stating what to do with your towels if you want fresh ones....a blatant indication that she didn't go into my room nor does she take note of the sign, - ALL walls in my room had large amounts of peeling paint on them, - WARNING TO CLEANER - there are coffee stains on the wall behind the bed side table of the room I was in (am not giving the room number as you need to bother looking!), - The walls are paper thin - BRING EARPLUGS!!! - A thorough dusting is required on a regular basis as there is a thick layer of dust of everything (indoor & outdoor furniture, window ledges etc), - The walls in the kitchen have food stains on them and need to be cleaned, - The cupboards and drawers in kitchen need cleaning.

Review 29:Great facilities, spacious, good location, friendly staff, quiet.

Review 30:We did not stay there , it cost us one night for nothing. It had no windows in Bathroom or Bedroom. It smelled . The carpet needed a good Shampoo.. There was not any Wardrobe in the room and it was so small. I would never recommend it to anyone .

Review 31:I liked the Location it was convenient to Town. But I could not say another good thing about the Place and the exhaust Fan in the Bathroom was so full of Dirt and dust it is a wonder it took any steam out of the Bathroom

Review 32:the bed the false advertising the noise that comes through the walls because they are not insulated you could hear the sliding door at the front entrance

Review 33:leaving

Review 34:When I had chase up New Zealanders to wash up after using facilities

Review 35:all except single beds just too small and having to work long hours and not having linen changed will at work for 10 days

Review 36:Having to get the key out of the lock box every time you went inside. Peeling paint/wallpaper from a previously leaking air con.

Review 37:Easy to find, private.

Review 38:Un hygenic people in the kitchen area, some didn't clean up after their-selves. People did not lock the back door and that is a safety issue when you are the only one there and there are no internal entry cameras.

Review 39:It had heating.

Review 40:Some stains on the walls, carpets and peeling paint kind of made it look rundown

Review 41:The bed was comfortable and the staff communicated well and answered our questions promptly. The breakfast was also an added bonus. Nice and quiet area away from the noise of thw main street

Review 42:No outside window. Clothes storage poor.

Review 43:Value was good, location-OK. Rooms very basic. Toilet and bathroom clean and functional. Kitchen and dining area good.

Review 44:When I went to fry my eggs for breakfast there were a multitude of various size saucepans from little 1 ltr up to giant stew pots, even a ribbed grill pan but no frying pan! You win some you loose some and boiled eggs are healthier anyway.

Review 45:I have stayed here before and there was never any cooking oil or salt & pepper so you can fry an egg (self help breakfast) Before check in I asked for these items to be present this time and was wonderfully surprised when I checked in and there they were.

Review 46:Don't really like 'remote' check ins. We prefer a friendly face and appreciate the knowledge of the area they usually have for visitors.

Review 47:Booked king room and it was a good choice as it was spacious and comfortable. Nice to meet other guests at breakfast.

Review 48:No clothes drier no foxtel villa wasn't serviced every day had to ask for breakfast supplies towels ran out of toilet paper last day

Review 49:Staff were lovely very modern and clean villa

Review 50:Not a bad experience but we found that the eggs in the fridge had been there a little too long. We left a note suggesting they be checked & replaced.

Review 51:For us the location was very good. While on a quiet road it was an easy walk to the main street where we found all we needed. The lady who met us was very helpful & friendly.

Review 52:We requested gluten free for breakfast and this was not supplied. It would have been nice to have something that we could have eaten for breakfast. Could have been fruit. Carpet was dirty, some walls were dirty. Some mould in shower. Wasn't really value for money when we have had better for $75-$80 per night. Back door was unlocked when arrived. We locked it when leaving for dinner and came back was unlocked again. Therefore no security and someone could have gained access.

Review 53:Bed was comfortable. Room size was good.

Review 54:Administration of reservation poor; Reception rude; Grounds unkept (bbq rusted, cigarette butts all over); Cleanliness leave much to be desired (windowsills and windows) Breakfast - great idea but not sufficient for family of 4

Review 55:Great location. Good unit and layout. Very comfy beds

Review 56:Sonya,who booked us in at a minutes notice went above and beyond to make sure my pregnant partner and I didn't have to sleep in our car.Five stars to her for service.

Review 57:As mentioned.

Review 58:Clean. Most things for breakfast were there however the cereal was missing. Staff were attentive when we notified we were unable to access automatic key.

Review 59:I just wasn't sure about the booking in but we had no problems there.

Review 60:It had everything necessary for a comfortable stay and the location suited me.

Review 61:Was unsure initially of the check in procedure...but it worked OK.

Review 62:Comfortable bed, new modern bathroom, great breakfast facilities, good secure parking out back.

Review 63:Walls are very thin, so if you have noisy neighbours, you will hear everything. Speedbumps are too high in the driveway.

Review 64:I liked that there was opportunity to make own breakfast with provided supplies. Rooms were very clean.

Review 65:Nothing bad to say.

Review 66:Nice quiet location but handy to food outlets, take aways and eat in. The king room was nice and roomy. Plenty of tea/coffee sachets, plenty of breakfast items. Would definitely stay there again.

Review 67:Speed bumps were rather high. We had a classic car and even though we were crawling scraped the exhaust system.

Review 68:Great price, Breakfast food supplied, eggs, cereal, juice and bread. Lovely thick towels. Staff were extremely helpful as my husband left two borrowed magazines behind, they were found and posted to us.

Review 69:Bread for breakfast provided by other guests staying at the motel. Staff member arrived for work but spent some time kissing her boyfriend in the kitchen.

Review 70:The place was clean and tidy.

Review 71:This is nothing at all against the establishment itself, more a statement on style of fittings. The fancy schmancy taps in the shower had the hot and cold words so faint I couldn't read it without my glasses (which I, funnily enough, don't wear in the shower). As the hot water took a while to come through, initially I thought I was going to have a cold shower.

Review 72:Our room had a kitchen, but there is a full kitchen eating area for the other units. Very nice place. We only stayed one night, but would be great for a few nights.

Review 73:speed humps in driveway too high & badly scraped the underside of car, no bedside lights, in fact no bedside power point, had to go and buy an extension cord to be able to have a bedside light. A little repair job to paintwork near air con wouldn't go astray.

Review 74:everything well organised, facilities all clean & everything worked well

Review 75:It stated breakfast was included, but they did not mention that you had to cook it yourself (eggs, toast only). The toilet cistern ran all night in our room. The power had tripped off and had to go find the meter box to switch power back on. Something wasn't working properly.

Review 76:It was close to CBD area and Sugarland Shopping Town. It was clean.

Review 77:The insulation is very poor (we had very noisy neighbors that got up at 6am and started watching tv and giving phone calls...). There is also one AC system in the corridor which is terribly loud.

Review 78:The room was nice, big, well furnished and perfectly clean. The common kitchen is awesome, with everything you need to prepare a good breakfast.

Review 79:the noisy a/c unit on the roof, would be nice if the rooms had larger tv.

Review 80:quite area of town & the rooms were clean & tidy, clean living area & kitchen.

Review 81:No complaints

Review 82:No excessive noise from other guests. Did not have to go through otherareas to get into room. No road noise even though there is a Hospitalopposite. If need arises again would definitely stay here.

Review 83:Some train noise during the night, and from other guests in the fairly noisy kitchen, but air con masked most of it.

Review 84:Lovely garden outlook, good fridge storage and breakfast arrangements.

Review 85:When I arrived the shower head was not working properly, but with a quick chat to the service staff they erhad it fixed before I needed a shower again.

Review 86:I liked the position of Alexandra Lodge, very quiet at night. I had the king size room so it had all the facilities I required in the room although the kitchen and other facilities/ outdoors bbq etc excellent also

Review 87:It was more like a back packers. I could hear everything that was going on in the other guests rooms and whenever someone walked around it sounded like an elephant walking around. I was strongly hinted at by the cleaner or owner (not sure who she was) that she wanted me to leave early so they could get the carpets cleaned in every room and i was the last person in there apparently.

Review 88:The only negative was that I could hear the other tenants in the next room, but it was not a big issue as they were not very noisy, but as it is a lovely old Qlder ,I could live with that.

Review 89:Very clean, bed lovely, as I arrived on a Sunday,no staff but commication was good through phone text to enter accommodation .Fridge full for Breakfast .Very Central but quiet.

Review 90:A great little place. Shared kitchen facilities, but that was ok. I didn't mind that at all. I didn't realise that it was a Bed and Breakfast, but , I must say it was a lovely surprise. Thank you.

Review 91:Small bed

Review 92:This place has very nice kitchen with free breakfast available anytime. We were swimming near beaches and could use their free laundry fercility as well. With little budget, this couldn't be better. The bed was bit small for my tall husband but OK. Will stay again next time.

Review 93:Facillity remotely managed. I would have been good to get clear guidelines re situation. Like how to get in. The address was not recognised by GPS due to same street being cut by rail line and having 2 suburbs and staff failed to ascertain full information and give clear and complete instructions when contacted. Drove around for an hour then could not get in when we finally found it due to remote management. Had to make 4 calls. Staff need a set of protocols to follow, Walls too thin could hear next door talking and they were not being loud Disrupted sleep. Bed a bit hard on my back. But it was all in all value for money and these gripes can be easily addressed.

Review 94:Price Breaky was very generous. Laundry provisions. Garden Kitchen Lounge Cleanliness Space TV options Arrangements re use of Swim Academy pool.

Review 95:The only thing that maybe could be improved is the mattress. It was quiet hard. But for price can't complain.

Review 96:Staff were very accomadating. Facilities were top class everything you could want right there.

Review 97:There is not much to Bundaberg itself but we were there to go to the turtle rookery at Mon Repos which was brilliant. We also went to the bundaberg rum distillery which was fun.

Review 98:The whole place was very clean, with a full kitchen, comfortable shared seating area and food left for us in the fridge. The room was fairly small but perfectly fine with powerful a/c, wifi and a smart en suite bathroom. Everything was very clean, tidy and modern.

Review 99:Trouble regulating temperature in shower. Some of the kitchen utensils could do with updating eg jug. Air conditioner looks like it needs a clean.

Review 100:Plenty of room to make yourself comfortable. Excellent variety of supplied ingredients for making breakfast.

Review 101:What I didn't like was the speed bumps in the driveways. I have a small car and with 4 passengers I bottomed out going in, had to drive out empty and pick up my passengers out the front of the property. I understand speed bumps but this one is over the top.

Review 102:Location was very good.we were there for leisure but if you were visiting someone in hospital it would be an excellent place to stay. Facilities were good especially the air conditioning. Not many properties have adequate air con. Breakfast that was provided was more than adequate. Staff were excellent.

Review 103:A little bit of noise from the unit next door

Review 104:Large King size room with Kitchenette ,large bathroom ,very clean through out , sofa, dinning table and chairs ,easy access from street ,good off street parking at the rear ,quiet Air conditioner , good shower

Review 105:Bed was very hard Didn't like that there was no window in room. All the food was not topped up every day. Somethings ran out.

Review 106:Didn't realise was B & B was pleasantly surprised. Outdoor area for smoking and eating a bonus. Washing machine and dryer added bonus. Loved the place and would come again. Great value.

Review 107:Horrible noise in the room, cannot sleep well (output of the air conditioner under the house makes this horrible noise). Room not clean, found pasta on the floor. Some rooms without windows. no contact with staff, no one to welcome you. everything is managed by phone!

Review 108:Stark white room with no lighting except main, bright, overhead light produced a very cold atmosphere. A bedside table with a lamp and a picture on a wall would do much to alleviate this. A small clothes hanging facility would be good too.

Review 109:Excellent position in town. Very clean. Comfortable bed.

Review 110:As we were arriving late we found it easy to access our room thanks to phone call and text from our host. The room was clean and comfortable with our own fridge, microwave, tea and coffee making facilities .There was also a full kitchen with two stove tops and oven. Also a washing machine and dryer. Off street parking was also a plus.

Review 111:We booked for four adults and the breakfast was not really enough - four cereals (would have prefered a choice), but only two milk portions. and only one juice portion, pelnty of bread, jams etc and eggs, but only three butter portions etc. And there were only three bowls, so we couldn't eat all together. Similarly there were four towels, but only one face washer. And a couple of spare pillows would have been good - pillows were quite thin and a couple of us would have like more than one. There was no remote control for the TV, and it was very difficult to work out how to turn the TV on - some instructions would help. We booked the Villa and were disturbed several times by people trying to book in to the other rooms, presumably thinking that the villa is the office... maybe a sign might help? And the speed bumps are VERY high and need a warning sign!

Review 112:Good location and good value for money, despite the list of suggestions oppostie we were very happy with our stay and would book again.

Review 113:Have a look at your fry pans etc I couldn't see anything to cook an egg in except a saucepan. How about stocking the kitchen with a few staples. Pepper, the salts almost empty and cooking oil will help with the fry pans etc whats a picnic salt & pepper and a bottle of home brand canola oil cost. its the little things that make a stay enjoyable.

Review 114:The price the space and able to get my own breakfast.

Review 115:Great place value for money was excellent, loved getting a washing done and dried. Bed was very comfy also. Clean shower was great too. Nice breakfast :D wifi was great also no complaints!

Review 116:We respected the non smoking rule and smoked outside but would have been nice to have a plastic chair or somewhere to sit and some sort of ashtray outside for this purpose. The hot water in the shower was a little tricky but a nice shower regardless.

Review 117:Arriving very late and leaving very early, we found the key system worked very well for us. The place was nice and clean, the breakfast items were a nice touch, all in all a very nice stay.

Review 118:Poorly laid out bathroom in our room, insufficient shelf space to put a toiletry bag as we were only staying overnight.

Review 119:The room was comfortable and there was a communal space if you needed extra room. We appreciated the breakfast supplies.

Review 120:We stayed a extra night but could only get a double room which was nice too staff was very helpful in organising it at last minute as we just checked out. we liked the king room better it also has its own entrance as well as internal entrance.

Review 121:Only the fact that there was no window in the room. Would bug me after a few days. Perfectly fine for a night or two.

Review 122:Very clean and comfortable. Couldn't ask for more. Great kitchen that's very well equipped. I cooked a great dinner. The eggs, milk, bread etc provided was a really lovely touch. Staff very helpful upon check in. Lovely BBQ area and great washing facilities. Good location within walking distance of everything you need.

Review 123:very strong smell of chlorine cleaning products in the unit, dirty pillowcases left in shower only one small soap ,could not sit in living area to watch tv, because my eyes stung from the chlorine disinfecting smell. verry dissapointing because we were in town for my mothers funeral.this added to the stress....

Review 124:quiet location clean bedroom, breakfast ok

Review 125:Layout was a bit odd. As if the bed had been moved from its intended spot? It was ok, just odd because no bedside tables or bedside lights. Had a hanging cupboard but no working drawer space.

Review 126:Spacious room, quiet neighborhood. Lots of extras..however no extra toilet paper that I could find. Perhaps one of the other guests had taken it? (should be in the bathroom cabinet)

Review 127:No windows. Did not like the fact that our room had no window - very strange that the hallways had windows but none in the room. Room was very small - had trouble getting around the bed & the ends of the bed were metal, so ended up with a couple if bruises. The bed was quite short also, so if your'e tall, it's not a good sleep....

Review 128:Great location. Facilities/food provided for breakfast were good.

Review 129:When making the booking it clearly states that you cannot book in until 2. When we arrived we found out office hours were between 10 and 12.

Review 130:There was a lot of room to move and plenty of car parking.

Review 131:This place wasn't for me. The room was small and didn't have any provision for working. It was noisy when people were using the kitchen facilities. It was probably a reasonable room for the price but in the future I would pay more to have a few more comforts.

Review 132:the price

Review 133:Bed was a little bit small (180cms) and my feet hung over the edge so I had to sleep diagonal which was fine solo but with two would prove difficult. The hot water gets hot too quickly. And is hard to adjust back to a reasonable temperature for showers

Review 134:Supplied breakfast, close to airport (for placement), secure, clean, fit my needs, towels and linen changed regularly, carpets cleaned during stay, friendly/helpful staff

Review 135:The carpets in the hall way and bedroom needed cleaning badly. Also a notice needs to be put in the kitchen asking other clients to be aware that other people are also there, and to be considerate to others when in the kitchen etc, when it comes to noise. We were in the suite next to the kitchen etc, and it was like World war 3 had started.

Review 136:A great place

Review 137:The bathroom was a little tiny, but only staying for a night, this was a only a minor inconvienience.

Review 138:I like the community kitchen where everything was available to be able to cook our meals. I was impressed with the inclusion of eggs supplied in the fridge.

Review 139:Offstreet parking Self-help brekky Full kitchen access dedicated locked space in kitchen King room was very spacious access to patio/street, private entrance. Close to city centre Quiet and away from main traffic route
